It's winter here as the paint is absolutely dirty from the front to the rear where it's covered in snow, there are some huge chunks of dirty ice stuck to the rocker panels and then the wheel arches are completely filled of snow, but besides the dirty exterior, the interior really isn't much better, as there is a lot of dog hair to deal with around the vehicle, the leather seats are quite dirty from the owner's dog, and also Of the mats, there are other dirty areas here as well.

Well, I'm excited to get to work. this BMW today and make it look like new again so as always sit back relax and enjoy so I started the pressure washer here and I have to say I'm thankful for my heated garage today as it was less 30 degrees Celsius or approximately. -22 degrees Fahrenheit outside during this detail, which means the car was super cold when I started driving it, so these ice chunks stuck to the rocker panels are pretty stubborn here, but instead of just taking the road easier and kick them, I thought you guys would probably enjoy watching them take off with the pressure washer and if you like seeing customer reactions be sure to stay until the end of the video as the owner was very excited with the results and didn't It's always something I can film for you. guys now we go back and for those of you who enjoy the pressure washing aspect of these videos, well I recently posted another pressure washing compilation on the second channel earlier this week so be sure to check it out if you are interested and at least for me, power washing is one of my favorite parts as far as

, so it's no surprise that this BMW has carpeted wheel arches in the rear, so it definitely takes a little longer It takes time to spray all that dirt, but that river of mud is certainly nice.

To see, I have to do it now moving towards the bottom, which of course is covered with the same carpeted material as the wheel arches, so I'm going a little slower today and I'll make sure to spray this well as it holds onto a ton of dirt and if you've ever wondered where you can find one of these undercarriage sprayers the link is in the description for you and it's definitely something I would recommend having as they are inexpensive and have a standard quarter inch . quick connect coupler that will connect to most pressure washers I have to get it right now yeah I have to get it right now again so hey it's not something I talk about very often but when I wash vehicles I always use the two bucket method with sand guards. of my two buckets and if you're not sure which sand guards they are, I have links to them in the description for you, but what this means is having a bucket of soapy water and a bucket to rinse my wash mitt and then Using a nice soft microfiber chenille wash mitt, I will rinse or turn my mitt inside out after each panel, of course wash the vehicle from top to bottom and if you follow these steps you will greatly reduce the chance of leaving swirl marks on the paint and, if it does, I wonder why I don't put my hand inside the wash mitt.

It's because, on the one hand, I have more control over it, but also because I rinse the glove so frequently that taking it off to rinse it and having to put it back on would be a waste. quite a while, so going for efficiency I keep my hand out as I noticed quite a bit of iron contamination on this paint while I was washing it. I'm going to go ahead and use my iron decontamination spray which will safely dissolve those little iron particles. It turns purple when it does and then I just sprayed it on after letting it sit for a few minutes, but looking around the car I saw that there was iron contamination on every panel and wheel here, so if anyone is curious, yes, you can use regular.

clay to achieve the same results, the only problem is that it will take much longer to remove those particles by hand, so if any of you have ever noticed small rough spots in your paint, that is iron contamination and can be can dissolve and rinse off easily with a product like this which is starting to dry out now and I guess Mike must have had a really good yoga session this morning because he had more energy than I've seen him in a long time today so despite of which he acted.

As a complete nonsense, it's always good to have help even if it's just for a few seconds, so okay with the vehicle in reverse, I'll quickly clean the floor and then start with these dirty rugs and really the process here is simple. I'm going to give them a quick spray of the dirt, then I'm going to spray some all purpose cleaner diluted about four to one, hit them with my medium green drill brush and then give them a good clean, starting on the inside now and the first step is to remove all the time. Horton's trash and any other personal items, making sure to recycle the plastic bottles of course, and then I'll quickly hook up the vacuum and get to work on all the dog hair, so now that I'm working back here, I thought I'd mention that the quality of this mat is much better than what I usually see and even the stuff on the back here and on the back of the seats is a much higher quality than what most manufacturers use so definitely makes it much easier to vacuum. and I can pretty easily get every little bit of dirt or debris out, moving to where some of the hair is and because the carpet here is so nice and plush, the hair doesn't get stuck in the same way as on cheaper carpets, so Surprisingly, the vacuum cleaner is capable of sucking up everything.
I didn't even have to lift the lily brush once today, so I have to say I'm definitely enjoying working on this BMW right now, as the higher quality components simply make things easier to clean and much nicer, so now I turned my attention to the moldings, where I'll use my geeky detail brushes on all the crevices. I wanted to mention that for those of you looking to get your hands on a set of either the Dull or Ultra Soft Hair Brushes, they should be back in stock on my website Detailgeekautocare.com within the next few weeks here so keep an eye out to them or you can follow Detail geek auto care on Instagram for updates so do it now for those.
Who may be wondering why I remove the seats in some vehicles and I don't do it correctly in others? It's simply because I only do it when really necessary and I can't clean to my standards with the seats on, although in the case of this x1, I had very good access all around and under the seats there was nothing I couldn't reach with the seat still here here is the half bucket of dirty water taken out of this disgusting bmw so now just to show you a different method of

cleaning

instead of using the sprayer here i am spraying some apc diluted about ten to one and then shaking with my boar hair brush, then I'll wipe it with a slightly damp microfiber towel and finish with a Dry one and although I prefer to use the steamer as it's quicker if you don't have access to one, this method works just as well in moderately dirty areas so now I'm going to the leather seats and to clean them I'm spraying some mcguire. d181 leather cleaner, then I'll use my horse hair brush to gently agitate it and the nice thing about this cleaner is that it lathers up to let you know it's actually doing something and then I'll just wipe it off with a microfiber towel.
Now to condition this leather I will use a McGuire D180 Leather Conditioner and apply it with a microfiber applicator pad which will leave these seats looking and feeling soft and supple. Okay, moving on to the paint now and as I could tell during the previous wash stage that the paint was quite dirty, I'm going to use some of my spray detail clay in a quick detail as a lubricant and then we'll gently rub the clay over the paint and what this does is pick up any contaminants attached to the surface. the paint like tar, tree sap, road grime, any remaining iron particles, things like that, and we'll leave it perfectly clean and ready for a coat of wax or sealant and as you can see the paint was still quite dirty, well, with the sealant applied.
For the paint, I'm going to apply some 303 Aerospace Protectant to all of the black exterior plastic and as you can see, it instantly rejuvenates the trim, leaving it with a

deep

matte black look when it dries. Last but not least here you have to dress the tires with some carpro pearl which is a water based dressing so it's safe for the rubber and won't get all over the paint ha ha , ha ha, eh, oh, yes, that looks new, yes, that looks pretty good, yes, that looks new, that's amazing, yes, thank you. Absolutely look inside, I have all the hairs out there, very good, that's the most important thing when you have dogs, yes, it could be a bit complicated, oh, it was my nightmare, thank you so much for doing this, oh, absolutely happy little night. thanks enjoy guys and 10 hours later the BMW looks absolutely amazing it's back to looking like new and I must say it was a pleasure working on a higher quality vehicle today so if you enjoyed this video be sure to hit the like button, subscribe to the channel if you haven't enjoyed the guitar intro yet and I'll see you in the next one.
