CZ Bren, better than the FN SCAR?

Jun 08, 2021
hey guys follow and guide john for sure with shoot center in cape coral florida today we will be talking about something very close to john's heart we will be doing a comparison video between

scar

rigs rifles and cz brains specifically we have the Bren tooth here. They're both phenomenal rifles that are in use a lot or around the world and in the US we have a lot of time with these guns we've got some SBRs we've got some pistols some select firearms too so today we're going to have some fun so let's jump in on this, okay guys?
cz bren better than the fn scar
Let's start with the John Scar Platform Rifles, why not? don't tell us the

scar

s and the story behind it and all that good so the scar represents a special combat assault rifle that was developed for us SOCOM who was looking for a replacement for the venerable m4 platform they wanted something more reliable so a FN came up with the scar platform they've been testing it I think since the early 2000s and they have one in seven six for mark 16 and mark seventeen excuse me and then version five five six the mark 16, but this here. it's a scar 16 with the civilian version they sent them to the ranger 75th ranger battalion in 2010. i think they found that the five five six version of the scar wasn't much of an advantage over the m4 so they basically said no.

More Interesting Facts About,

cz bren better than the fn scar...

I don't want the 16 mark 16 scar and we chose the 17 mark which is 7 6 2 for 51 both are very very reliable short stroke gasp piston systems a lot of people say the scar rig when you are shooting has to be a kind of coochy coochy coochy because there's a Super King charging handle and the big bolt carrier group that has it so yeah this is a pretty phenomenal rig yeah one thing that made the scar a little bit different and in how it works they use a little different aluminum um and polymer typing the guns so the upper receivers are aluminum but the lower receivers are polymer which is kind of interesting because it's a piston it doesn't have its buffer tube standard or anything bad so you can have stock collapsible collapsible different things like I actually have a friend in the 75th Ranger Regiment he's in the 2nd battalion and actually his weapon of choice is a cic atriz 17 now one of the cool things they could do is they were essentially using magnetic couplers not couplers but inserts and he was the even though there's a 17 gun yeah he was barely breathing yeah using the conversion kit , so he's wearing a 16 upper scar on a 17 lower which is cool so it's like I really believe it or not because you won't get me all the other fun stuff he plays with but that's his rifle of access now how to speak well John you got your SBR you know they come in standard 17 or 16 inch length barrels this is a 13.5 inch I got chopped D down this is a heavy selective fire scar and that how parallel have?
cz bren better than the fn scar
I think it's stuff that we think is a 10 10 inch so they have factory barrels that come in tint but I cut mine off when parking. off the machine team up there in new hampshire he's like the scar rig master yeah you know these guns are very ambidextrous they have controls on both sides so you know your magazine drops your selector security, this has a reciprocal charge. handle, which means that while you're shooting this gun, this charging handle is going to go back and forth to the right and this can be done on either side. Essentially they run like an 8k, especially if you had that Magwell grip.
cz bren better than the fn scar
We see a lot of guys breaking their thumbs because it's a piston. You also have an adjustable throttle block which is great to position them like so 12 o'clock I Normal standard right and second position is adverse adverse but you might as well suppress modes or adverse because you're pumping some gas yeah so for we right now started looking for a different gun so the cz

bren

so the 805 brain came out it was developed in 2006 and we started seeing them on the market about three or four years ago they finally got imported and they were like the little brother of the scars so they came in a little bit cheaper than the scar because it's always been a big thing for scars they're so expensive the right scars are made in belgium they're only imported and select groups is um there's a number limited but

bren

t came in cz usa he's the one who brought it in 805 really good sure we saw a lot of users we sell rifles we saw pistols we saw everything now at the time they were imported into the usa USA to Although cz a came out with a version two so around 2014 2015 the czech republic army decided hey there are some things we want to change there are some updates we want to do so cz started doing it now so we have the Bren. - some of the big changes are just economics, right, we're talking a little

better

, they dropped the weight because the original brand was a little heavy, think about things around eight pounds, yeah, a little more than that, right where they are now. coming in at a lot less so the bren two are coming to the usa at 76 239 and a five five six and that's all this turns out to be a 76039 one of the originals this is what we call a military one so you know how to choose Picatinny sections and stuff like that but what's really cool is and that's why I like the Bren on the scarred person it's just for me as a lefty so I'm on the left handed rifle shear as you guys know for Me the controls on the right handgun are much easier to use on the right so you have your magazine release all the selector safety in one place on both sides but also the bolt release is also ambidextrous it's inside the trigger guard which is kind of unique there's a couple other systems that have done it but you know this is one of the first ones you know of once again we've got that aluminum upper carbon fiber reinforced polymer , lower ISO, very similar to scars ices well the way light super light I don't remember I think this is an alternative charging handle too no not that the original original Orient 805 the 805 made the two of the brand do not correspond so it's cool , we don't have to worry so much about it, like cool john you got what i call the loud cricket this thing is an eight inch eight inch five Pistol five six but it has a muzzle brake this thing is loud it shoots a fireball like if it was nobody's business what goes through that gun and why did you pick it right so i already had a scar 16s PR and was like you know what i don't want another SBR and i wanted something similar to the gas piston of the scar 16, so when the mark two came on the market it definitely had to have one so they changed the civilian version bill hicks actually got the first mark two version that came on the market those are actually demilitarized versions the grant : you know what came in like a gun a, they couldn't bring a rifle in because of ITAR laws, yeah, you know, and they came in with a Picatinny rail a small batch went to Bill Hicks a d then cz USA It was like that's not what we wanted so that they had a small batch, they were under the radar, when people were piling them left and right and I remember seeing it come out like a 12 inch barrel, yes they were. phenomenal and then they came out with the brand so cz really wanted it was actually on block mm-hm so they got the M lock and it comes in 8.6, 11 and 14 inch barrels yeah and both the 760 for 39 and five five six yes and I mean a phenomenal platform.
I like it

better

than the take. I like it better than the scar because the controls are more like an ar-15. I mean, the scar is too, but you have more versatility with this mm-hmm but the bolt lock. release you can lock it open using the ACR style bullets don't sing about it yeah you are ACR yeah and I mean it's so light and reliable can you be so kind have about it is the alternate short angle yeah that's th The only thing but that meant us SOCOM our apartment too although yeah SOCOM wanted that on their gun so we have to talk about it you know we always It's been a big deal, people, well why does it have to be reciprocated?
Nobody else does. it was a true persocom requirement very reminiscent of a can't do anything about it but it is what it is so guys let's spend some time at the shooting range let's give it some time to shoot you can see how wrong it is see you back in a few minutes alright guys let's start these guns now these are john's personal guns so i'm not going to mess up his setup so i'll just shoot this right handed one. I'm not going to shoot the lefty. These things are phenomenal. so let's give this one a try like I gave this the nickname cricket noise y'all would see here in a minute why it's ok let's give these guns a roll john has his scar we have this will bring out the pilate it's here in a minute but we're going to get some rounds to these things alright alright that's a really nice feature the bolt clips right on the inside the trigger guard alright we're going to give you some spins here with that broken muzzle it just doesn't budge I mean stuff it's just the nice easy recoil is very very slight even for such a small gun partly because of the OS but also because the muzzle breaks right so these are foolproof muzzle breaks on these guns just right shots phenomenal it just doesn't even budge love this What you want to shut up now is just it's right there oh my ears ac They had to ripped off, yes it's so strong that my hair guards just ripped off. uses standard G IMAX doesn't like P Mac so I mean he likes penis oh this one just doesn't like pmags they both have them about three by three yeah yeah okay so this one it's got the reciprocating charging handle so you gotta make sure your hand isn't too far back how you gonna tell the mp5 hole is like that ok so i still like you but it's a yes you know what the gun does not move, the ejection pattern is very different. between the two the scar is more of that you know the four o'clock position right where that brin just kicks at two o'clock so we got a nice brass change just by looking at them you know it's not a bad thing at all just the way they are backwards that way they correspond let's load up some mags and have this thing have some fun ok we'll look at it for a bit ok guys hope you enjoyed the video this is troy john check out the shooting center comm instagram if you want to come to classes shoot any of our guns even some select fire stuff come on in use a range we are more than happy to help you out see you next time have fun stay safe
