and it's not just your normal recipe

chicken

and

dumplings

this is one my husband loved he won't eat it any other way he ate chicken and dumplings many different ways growing up and he says this is his favorite way so I'm going to share with you our favorite chicken dumpling recipe and it's so easy in the slow cooker so the ingredients you're going to need and I don't have all the ingredients because you're going to do some stuff later when it's almost done but you'll need four ro tablespoons of butter and you will need them chopped you will need 1 onion already diced I went ahead and diced and cut the butter which requires three of these ten point five ounce cans of cream of chicken but I always buy just the big one and the small one because it is approximately the same size.

I need 32 ounces of chicken broth. This is the chicken broth I just got from Dollar Tree. I'll need a little bit of salt and pepper as much as you want to add or look powder as much as you want to add of that. I like to add poultry seasoning to mine it just gives it a little extra flavor IMO and also put some cajun spice in mine too so I already have the chicken breasts in the crock pot you will need four breasts of large chicken or six small chicken breasts I put them in there frozen it makes it even easier so you can do that or you can have it already defrosted it's up to you but I like to put the frozen in there because it just makes the recipe even easier so let's get on with the recipe alright guys there's my frozen chicken breasts in the crock pot next thing you're going to go get your butter and you're going to place it on top of your chicken breast chicken it doesn't really matter where you put it because it will wiggle and wiggle anyway once the crock pot gets going so just throw it all in there it doesn't really matter okay so four tablespoons of butter went in then Tom Add your seasoning and season your chicken however you like with Dollar Tree Himalayan Pink Salt.

I'm not going to add much size, just three or four twists because you're going to get a lot of sodium from the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth, so keep that in mind, yes it's Whalen at heart. I'm taking my garlic. powder and I'm just looking at how much I want to put in the so there's the garlic powder so I'm going to go ahead and put my pepper in there too and I really like the pepper in mine. I just think it adds a lot of flavor names. I'm going to add my poultry seasoning. here and again just look into my eyes guys you can always add more seasonings later after it starts to cook but i really like bird season too.

I go a little overboard with the seasoning on things and then I'm going to add a little bit of my Cajun seasoning, it doesn't matter what kind, but it gives it a little more flavor and I don't put a lot of it in, so you've seasoned your brisket of chicken and you've got the butter in there now you want to add your cream of chicken and your chicken broth and your chopped onions on top and I like to combine my chicken broth and my soup first before I throw it in there so let's do that next, okay guys? what you're going to do is combine your big cream of chicken n samia thing it comes out a big blob and then your little can if you want you can use three of these little cream of chicken cans whatever you want to do and then you'll add your 32 ounces of broth of chicken or chicken broth whatever you have on hand and like I said I like to add these two together rather than separately and the crock pot I like to mix it up so it's all incorporated and blended so you don't have bits of cream of chicken soup which usually isn't, but I don't like to take chances so I have all the chicken broth in there.

I'm going to take a whisk and twist it and I'm probably going to make a mess I usually make a mess when I do this because I never use a big enough hole I should learn my lesson and use a bigger bowl but I'm a thick head and I'm a creature of habit so do it the same as always even if you know it's not right guys next thing I'm going to add my diced white onion all over the top of the seasoned chicken breast and be sure to put them all in there and then I'm going to add my chicken broth mixture and cream of chicken soup to the slow cooker and you want to try and cover as much of the chicken as you can some of it might still be sticking out okay that's ok so i got it all in there you are going to put the lid on your crock pot and you are going to set the time you need if you need it hurry you can do it on high for four to six hours or i like to do mine on low and you can make yours in ba jo for six to eight hours, i always do mine on low for eight hours, so what are we going to do? guys, after it beats for eight hours, we're going to get some canned cookies, yes you heard me right, some canned cookies, we'll cut them up and add them to our pot here and let it cook. for another 30 minutes, another 30 minutes for our meatballs, so I want to show you that and once the eight hours are up, I'll see you guys. in 8 hours and we'll start on the dumplings ok it's been eight hours and this is what it looks like now we're going to take our chicken breast and we're going to take two forks and we're going to shred that chicken as well and as well as we can and as you can see remember that was the frozen chicken before it's falling apart now so it's very very easy to be able to go ahead and shred and it's going to chicken out guys as you put your meatballs in there because those meatballs are going to soak up a lot of this liquid so if you're looking like oh my gosh it's still runny it's definitely going to thicken up as you put the meatballs in there we're going to do it in a minute ok like this that i'm going to finish the prep and then i'm going to show you what cookies we're going to use and how you need to cut those cookies and then what are they going to do when you put them in there and how long are you going to cook them for the meatballs to watch them make it up tory also here are the gals letters that I am using.
I'm just using these Great Value Texas Style Cookies With Butter and there are five in there. In fact, I'm using two of these packages. I like these little ones better, so you're going to take your cookie and you're going to cut it into quarters, so you're going to cut it into four pieces. I made this once by cutting it into eight pieces and that is what your original recipe calls for and they came out very small. and a lot of them just fell apart and the hubby didn't like them he likes them in four because they come out so big so you're going to cut all your biscuits into four pieces each like this and then we're going to place them in the actual chicken and balls mixture of boiled dough and we're going to cook that on high for 30 minutes, so let me finish cutting them and I'll show you how we're going to put them on and click on high, okay? guys so what i did after i cut the cookies i didnt put them in the pot p Not yet but i went ahead and tasted to see if the flavors were right and i thought i needed a little more pepper and poultry seasoning so this it's time to go ahead and add your additional seasoning however you like it just depends on your flavor so you're going to take all the cut up cookie pieces and drop them right here in the crock pot how easy is it this is a very very easy recipe and after you have them all in the crock pot what I like to do is just give them a quick stir that way they are all separate and have a little bit of mixture or soup on top of each of them and then you go to put your crock pot on high and then set the timer for 30 minutes and as soon as it goes off guys you should be perfect they're as good as these they're not your traditional dumplings so if you don't like this kind and yes to Some people don't like canned cookie dumplings they like real rolled outlands my father in law how they rolled outlands did it n I don't like this guy but my husband likes this con and so do I and if it's easy and he likes it, I'm going to get it all right, so we're going to stir it to make sure all those cookies have the liquid. on top of them look at all the chicken good thing it came shredded as you can see it's piping hot so we're going to put the lid on like I said 30 minutes on high I'll be back when it's time too the timer went off for 30 minutes this is what it will look like it's going to be bubbling and all the cookies will have floated to the top and stuck to each other so what i like to do is take my spoon or whatever it is with that you're working and I'll go ahead and stir it up and as you can see the cookie mix is kind of puffed up which you want and like I said it's going to sit here and go to you.
It knows how to marry the flavors that are already there and it's also going to soak up a lot of that liquid which is why it looks so delicious and what I like. What I have to do is let this sit for a bit and let the meatballs incorporate a bit. more flavor. You can add a little more pepper here if you want or a few more spices if you want, but I think mine is pretty good on the go. and I'm going to let it sit and marry for a while and then I'll plate it up and you can see what the final product looks like so we're like the chicken and the meatballs are now plated up it's all married the meatballs actually Make the guys get a little bigger as you let it sit they swell up a little more which is even nicer and I'm looking forward to digging into this.
We haven't had it in a while and it's really really good if you let it sit overnight guys the next day you need broth it will thicken up a bit but the chicken and dumplings are like soup so you don't want it to be very thick anyway i like it like this as a soup so i know some people like it to eat it with rice too but i think its too starchy so we just eat it j just like that with the meatballs chicken and the liquid so if you like this friday food guys please like this video and the recipe will be in the description box below so make sure you click the drop down arrow in the description box . and you can see how to do this if you forgot any steps in the video hit the subscribe button if you haven't already because i do food
