#Cowboys Fish Report LIVE at #Giants ... 'WE'RE BEST DEFENSE IN #NFL !' Micah's Statement and MORE!

Sep 11, 2023
Good evening, tomorrow from MetLife Stadium. I'm Mike Fisher, your Dallas Cowboys trustee and treasure

report

er with one of the most impressive performances, I think, I've seen in 33 years according to the Cowboys and 40 years of covering the NFL. 40 to nothing is their final score dismantled what was supposed to be a good Giants team and may never be true again. They were hit every which way it went and I'll try to rattle off some quick thoughts here and I'm reflecting. about some of what you have to say also tonight thank you for being with us here we will have

more

of course uh in the morning uh we will still be here in New York and then at

cowboys

i.com um yes You haven't been there yet, you will be surprised by the depth, quality and quantity, uh, everything, so go look at Cowboys si.com. 40 to nothing.

There was a point here where you felt like the Cowboys could have named their score after old Barry Switzer. half a hundred on them uh at 26 to nothing at halftime I promise you there was already some discussion because there certainly was in my part of the press box well, what time, at what moment, like Tyler Tyrone is playing at an angle bomb, at what point do you get Tyron out of there, um Micah Parsons, who I think didn't take a break in the first half, which is 26 to nothing, uh, Tony Pollard, there are certain guys who didn't need to take risks any

if The philosophy in the preseason was that we didn't play guys when there was nothing to gain from it, so at some point that was also in play here, this is a record-setting thing, you have to go back to 1978, when the Colts were actually the Baltimore Colts. and a 38 to nothing combo, uh, shutout, that was the last time a Cowboys team did something like this and when we talk about the three phases, which is a big football cliché and very difficult to achieve, they were the three phases that I have seen. some people because they just don't let it go because they want to be right they talk about how Dak Prescott on offense didn't do this or didn't do that but they did it, they did exactly this and they did exactly that how many interceptions did Dak Prescott have?

More Interesting Facts About,

How many turnovers did the Cowboys offense have? Mike McCarthy preaches hard to the point of uh, since we all speak Latin around here now Carpe Omnia to the point of uh ad nauseum add infinitum, that's right, we all speak a little. I think that's a lot of, uh, complimentary football, he wants complimentary football, that's what Dak Prescott is going to throw it across the yard when I was 26 to nothing in four years, he doesn't need it, the Cowboys don't need gears 80 yards down. the field when the

defense

keeps giving them the ball in plus territory, that's complementary football, that's exactly how it's supposed to work and the same thing happens maybe next time maybe next week against the Jets with Aaron Rodgers back in Dallas maybe it would be the cowboy offense, uh, that instead of the Cowboys special teams

defense

, maybe the Cowboys offense gets Dallas going in a big way and then the defense can start to buckle up benefiting from the free football, talking about defense.

Michael Parsons was asked, you know what? What kind of

statement

was he trying to make tonight and he said our

statement

is that we are the

best

defense in football and that is indisputable right now? We're only one weekend in and we haven't seen the Bills and Jets yet, but who is doing this? Which team this weekend did something like this, uh, the shutout, it's a weird combination, um, so yeah, this is the

best

team, the best defensive team in American football that we can go through again. I'm not a guy that watches movies and I'm not a scout and I'm not a coach.

Gilmore seemed to me like that seemed to close things in the corner and we'll start from the back that seemed to me like closing things in the corner. uh give Trayvon Diggs credit he gets criticized for not being a tackler and a hitter yeah he hit someone Saquon Barkley he's not an easy guy to hit he's a pretty solid block of granite you're up against he crashed and in doing so created a takeaway and a six or take pick on a touchdown, so the cornerbacks are Stellar here and of course Bland are involved in all of that too.
Next level up um sequence if you stop Saquon Barclay, you stop them again, it helps that he was also up 26 at halftime, but hey, there's a limit to what Daniel Jones can do and I'm not saying he sucks, though I gotta get this out of the way if you're a Giants fan, that was a clown show Nelson, how many sacks tonight, seven sacks by Daniel Jones, that was a clown show. there was nothing there, the giant maybe at first Daniel Daniel Jones running for just a minute had that going for him, but in every other area and in every other phase, every other position group, including the Cowboys, battered the offensive line, uh. it was the Giants' offensive line that gave up the seven sacks that were involved in the Force's five fumbles.
The Cowboys didn't do any of that, uh, in a negative way, so the linebacker group controlled Saquon Barkley and then, along with the safety's help, controlled Daniel Jones. running back and again you get to a score where I don't care, Daniel Jones, you want to run six yards and put yourself at risk behind, ahead, but you're not going to score, uh, and then do the defensive line and and and there were some moments where Run stopped the guys inside, um Micah was everywhere, tank Lawrence was good and uh, Dante Fowler is a guy that's taken for granted here because I didn't know he didn't come here. he's not an original cowboy and all that kind of stuff, he did some special things in his career before he got here, as Dan Quinn will tell you, and he did some special things tonight, he was very much a force and a force intimidating to push. uh Daniel Jones, then to the Cowboys offense and again the Cowboys offense scored 40, no, they didn't have to, they accomplished one of the most important things that we said was key psychologically for this game and otherwise , don't give the ball. we talk all about uh and everyone talks about Dak Prescott on the 15 interceptions to do that let's have zero tonight um it's worth noting uh as a couple you guys have said oh there's Robert pointing to Jack put the ball in the money a couple of times That should have been maybe a couple touchdowns by now, just like interceptions sometimes bounce off someone's hands, just like sometimes interceptions bounce off the defender's hands and don't become interceptions.
You know you're not going to get every catch on every break, but but. there are no interceptions to protect the football. I think the Giants will leave, maybe some Giants fans will leave. It was very wet, well first of all, the Giants fans in this building didn't stay long enough to know how wet it got because by the third quarter they were heading for the exits and at the end of the fourth quarter the only people The only ones left in the stands were the Cowboys fans and that's a fact, eh, dim sum, five dollars, pitching, Fergie, you're my favorite, but I'm disappointed.
Yes, the tight ends didn't match everyone else's efficiency, so the tight ends as a group don't rate very well here, but I have bad news for the Giants. They couldn't keep up with Brenton Cooks, forget the numbers. He couldn't keep up with them. I'm sitting here. I saw it for myself. Look at me, Lamb was a great player again. And he was a reliable guy. Tony. Pollard with two touchdowns and we're talking about running between the tackles Tony Paulo runs between the tackles and then you know you're out physically the other guy on the team that's a good question Rocky Roadster, did the Cowboys get a penalty not too much today, huh, but that is? that's a great point one two zero uh Aubry wasn't terrible since Benny said, I bet you didn't like it at first when he missed uh you know, easy one South Texas has three total penalties Robert Emmy the tight The ends actually they had some drops Uh Kevin Shirley, you took a penalty on Goldson's first sack, yeah, um, uh, rolling them with you, uh, I think I think that's the official score and you go back and count how many times there's a fumble in the backfield of Daniel Jones. ends up being a tackle for loss is that a tackle for loss or is that a fact so we'll go we'll have the official scorer come back and review that uh Tony Weller between the tackles and then this is when you know, you're out of the physical, the other team, the Cowboys, have promised for years to use a cabante Turpin or cavanti Turpin as Talent at running back, well, are we going to have that running back or are we going to have Tony Powerline on the wides here all and it never happens and then with Turpin this night it happened corporal Turpin actually played running back and had a seven yard touchdown run in which he was more physical than all the Giants trying to tackle him now that he has him.
He told Brianne and us that I have this on this show. He's gained 10 pounds of muscle since last year, taking him up to five nine 163 and 153 and he was the most physical guy on the field, unlike any of the Giants as he makes his seven-yard touchdown run, so yes, even Kavante Turpin was physically out of them, all kinds of credit goes to the Cowboy offensive line, the tyrants who are on a leg and a half, there is a point where Austin Richards had to play. Obviously they had Chuma as the starter because Tyler Smith couldn't go.
They are trying to coordinate the Texas Coast offense and they are missing an offensive lineman and it was still coordinated very well. Navajo and others asking about the play makes it much easier. when it's 26 to nothing, there's no doubt about that, but the idea that somehow, first of all, there's going to be a problem with how it works, it's unlikely that this guy has been doing it his whole life, the idea that you will be wrong. It is unlikely that he has been doing this his entire life. What will happen is he'll make a perfectly fantastic play and then the play won't work or someone drops the ball or something or someone misses a block. um, I've said this from the beginning.
I think tonight verifies that Mike McCarthy has been the best play host in this building, uh, in that building since he first walked in and that's no disrespect to Kellen Moore, it's just true, there's no way to that given his track record of experience there's no way Kellen Moore was a better play caller than Mike McCarthy three years ago and I don't think he's a better play caller today, uh, a lot of you are mentioning cowboy chants, oh yeah, I mean, this was this. It was Cowboys Stadium East when we got to the fourth quarter, for sure Otto Sephora, thanks for being the premium Uncle Fish and pitching, uh, Kevin Shirley.
I thought the run defense was okay, um, again from the beginning. Daniel Jones was a little, was a little. uh it's scary for you, but then you get a defensive touchdown, they get a special teams touchdown and the next you know, um, I don't really care if Daniel Jones runs a little bit, yeah, you guys are asking about Cooks, forget the number, this is one. one of those deals where you have to watch the game, forget his numbers, they couldn't cover him, he was, he was doing what he wanted here, playing, calling was smart, Robert says, considering the humidity and, by the way, I did the show pre-game here on What time was it?
An hour before, of course, and I said it looks pretty good out there, well, I, I, I was right for a second and I mean, it was a downpour and a heavy one for much of this, um, and it wasn't. upset the Cowboys, so I hope the Giants try to use that as an excuse. Brian Abel after the game said we're not going to sugarcoat this, they were good and we were bad, yeah that's true, I'm going to suggest that to you. It sticks in their heads that they were trying to make a statement here too that they are now on the same level as the Cowboys and the Eagles.
By the way, the Eagles struggled a little bit, they won 25-20 in New England, so On this particular day, the Cowboys are the best team in the division, they are the best team in football based on the score, who played, where they played and the circumstances, and yes, the opportunity to do this again. over and over again that maybe they can make this the best defense in football Micah before this game said this is like the Super Bowl um and that's a little hyperbolic, but if you play like that efficiently on offense, free football McCarthy will tell you. with a number one defense, um, and then don't mess up so much on special teams and they certainly didn't do that, they were good on special teams outside of the missed kick, uh, you won't have to be alone talking oh, it's like a Super Bowl, you can, you can really be in the Super Bowl if you do this a couple more times, well maybe 16 more times would be a good idea, go check out
