Couple Builds SHIPPING CONTAINER HOME With No Experience

When we decided to come here and do this for the first time, I remember telling my family and I just remember thinking we were crazy. Spencer didn't have any

in construction or anything, obviously neither did I. We both worked in restaurants and this is exactly what we wanted to do and we just decided to do it like we didn't think much more about it other than we didn't want to look back one day and wonder what it would have been like if we had done it when we moved and got here and we were unloading the moving truck.

I started to cry because the reality was so great that we suddenly left our jobs, sold our house and now live in the woods in an old barn that we were initially going to be. Honestly, we thought we were going to buy a giant tent like a three-bedroom tent and make a living out of it with a dog, but no, it ended up working out. We knew the barn was here, so we'd just like it. rebuild a section of the barn and live off of it, that's what we did, there was no real ventilation other than just a screen that we put in a bug screen that we put in the middle section just so we could keep the bugs out. and allowing heat and humidity to escape, was a poorly planned design, it will simply make the house much more worth it.

Yeah, coming here, I saw that it was my job to try to keep things as lighthearted as possible and I just try to make them fun because I knew we didn't know what we were doing. s just because we obviously want them to last as long as possible so we ended up painting them but it was really exciting once everything was done and the windows because it meant we could finally start working on the inside of the house and then I found out I was pregnant oh my gosh we were so excited but reality set in that we don't have a house and we have a baby on the way.

It was like shit, this is real life. Only now were we worrying about where the house is and how to speed it up. We've never built a house before, so everything we do requires a air conditioning unit and a heater, I mean it works. For now, we started prioritizing what in construction is absolutely crucial for when the baby arrives and we decided that that thing was water, so we started the whole process of capturing our own rainwater again when we finally got water, I screamed. Eyes open because going so long without things like that for so long and finally having them again is incredibly overwhelming, like I can't even imagine, once we live in this house it will feel like a hotel, it's crazy because Looking back , if you had told me that this would be our house right now and that we would have built it, I would not have honestly believed you and I know that the only reason we are here now is because our house is the way it is.

This is all thanks to you, Spencer. I am absolutely amazed at how you have been able to figure this all out and teach me as we go. It's been great to be a part of it. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you. I know the house is not finished yet, there is still a way to go, but it will be done this year, since there have been mistakes along the way and I try to fix them and hide them as best I can, but not by much. would change and it has been a very rewarding experience and especially seeing how everything online disappeared.
