I'm going to try to do it every week and

what

they're designed to do is to be like you know a lot of you have been to the forums you've been to you know maybe you were looking into something and you came across a forum and the people were

talk

ing about a specific topic and you read the threads to see if it can help you with whatever

your

situation is and that's what I'm going to be doing g with this it's going to be a while I don't know how long the videos are going to be some of them maybe fifteen minutes some of them might be 45 minutes but this is all about you and me talking about Corvettes and talking about specific topics today we're going to talk about the different types of

tires

you can go with when it comes to his maybe he's got a spoon or a stripe he's got a Z 50 why maybe he's got a Grand Sport a zero six and so let's dive into those that I've had experience with.

Some people in the community reached out to me and said, hey Chuck, these are my thoughts on this particular tire and one of the gentlemen had Brian, who's been a channel member here for a long time, I mean, you guys have seen if they're on instagram now if they have an instagram account even if they don't have an instagram account be sure to check on instagram we're almost at 10,000 there that will allow me to open up a bunch of other avenues of ours some other things i can to do with Instagram doing swiping videos just a few different things that I think will be really cool to be able to do as well that's where I'll notify you when a video comes out because if you've been on YouTube for any amount of time even though you can hit subscribe I hit the bail notification , you are not always notified, but if you follow me on instagram you will always be notified when a new video comes out, go on youtube if you are a brand.

I'm new to the channel. I have owned three different Corvettes. I have had a 2016 zo6 zero six 2017 grand sport and then also a 2019 zr1 and just placed an order for a 2019 zo6 if you haven't seen that video. I'll have it linked below, you'll want to check it out, see what my specs are and whatnot at the moment, looks like it was originally going to be built in March, please rate Corvette Conti, a good friend of the channel and also the gentleman. Buying the car was able to pull a few strings and get us where we're going it's going to be built the week of January 21 so here this month hopefully we'll have that car probably mid February hopefully the weather in Ohio is good 2mf some people laugh when you go to Ohio y'know make sure you let us know we'd like to stop by to look at the new car and I'll definitely let them know once I know what day I'm picking it up now I know it's going to be a Friday I'll pick it up ready I'll be flying to him on Thursday, pick him up on Friday, and then bring him home.

Also, a lot of people have asked you, you know, Chuck, why don't you do a delivery to the museum? Actually, it's closer than driving to Rick's house. well his mechanic Chuck is going to do the extreme catback ride with the X pipe system on the car and you know I wanted to finish that before I head back the rides aren't too far from where he is and that way I can just kind of brake the car and just enjoy enjoying that 7 speed all the way home which is why I'm doing t hat instead of doing museum drop off.
I hope to get to the party here in April and there will be more news on that for today's episode as well. You'll see some different images that will be here. behind me and the first photo is a photo of Tony's

garage

. Tony is in Maryland and I met him probably a year and a half ago. He used to live in Texas. He in this veterinary club. I think he was the Lone Star Corvette club. Not sure Tony you can let us know description is in comments beautiful Corvettes used to be a running back at Penn State the Nittany Lions you could tell used to be a running back guys built like a Brick takes great care , but that's his photo there.
If you want to have

your

pillow, you also work for Under Armor and yell, sorry, touch the mic, but yeah, I've got some Under Armor gear here for the channel. and you know maybe I can work with Tony on the in the future maybe trying to do something with Under Armor maybe we can get some Corvettes 9 1 8 gear made by Under Armor so I know he mentioned it to me and it's possible that let's look at it in the future if that's something you I'm excited because you'd like to have maybe a shirt like this but I'll let you know my info.
Definitely let me know in the comments. If you would be interested in something like that. car dumped here behind me a picture of his garage as we talk about different things now i cant let all the people shut up because i get too many i probably have 300 emails i need to stop by to take pictures and do different things but if you want to see your photo thrown here behind me because that's where i want to share his cars when the new car arrives if he's a follower of the channel again you know i like to vlog and normally i would share it his cars are in a video ok i'll share them here in black on the green screen here behind me while we talk about everything, so enough talk because I could stay here and talk for who knows how long. but this is garage talk well that's what you do in the garage you just talk but I know you clicked to hear about the

tires

so what we're going to do is throw behind me here tire support and tire supports. place to get prices on different things and then go to you know maybe your local tire place whether you know beating tires whether it's Pep Boys whether it's TNT my local company I use here is discount tires great guys there Allen and the guys always take good care of me they have taken care of a lot of people who have Corvettes here in the Tulsa area but I want to talk about do you know when you get the car if you have a streak if you have a great sport if you have have a zo6 if you don't have the zo7 package on the last three of those then you're going to have what's called the standard Supersport tires on there and they're tires that have a compound that's made just for Corvette by Michelin and it's designed to get Best possible performance out of that car now of course you know the ones who normally mean they have 30,000 miles, you know the warranty on those 30,000 miles, how long they

should

last, they don't last 30,000 miles.
There were guys in my vet club, it's done fifteen thousand miles, other people have done ten thousand, it's just you know it really depends on how you drive the car, you're tracking it, you know how aggressive you drive it when you're on the road. You know if you're just one of those people who just get in and cruise and you're not taking turns at 90 miles now or something, your tires will probably last a lot longer, but it also depends on how far you ride on how far you get off and drive and another hug. What it's going to be is how well the balance is on the wheels and that's something that would skip your alignment and that's something that I would definitely do even if you buy a new Corvette I know when I get mine here I'm going to be doing an alignment in him because sometimes the alignment at the factories aren't the best and I'll have a link below what I usually set mine to and there are two different settings you can set them to if you want. you're just going to do it you mostly know how to drive on city streets and then maybe the occasional track there's a different incline and trailer and you know how you want to have it lined up and then there's one that if you're just going to go out and perform a follow up on how you'd like to align it so I'll have a link below and you'll want someone to align it other than me unless you just have a really good dealership where the mechanic knows what he's doing a lot of times that's not always the case sometimes t guys who know they can barely put the tires on let alone not mess up the side skirts trying to get them up so if you have someone who does a great job with the alignments that's who I would recommend take it away Don't use the dealer for my alignments, I use someone else and that way you can mark that up because that will go a long way toward helping the life of your tires if you haven't already.
I also have many different videos. I have linked below the video of every time I changed my tires on the black zo6. I went from the super sports to a tire that we'll talk about here in a minute and that's the Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires and you can just look how you know you just start to see it up to the belt on the inner sides and a lot of that was due to that I put the car down part of it was because you know I didn't go straight and get the alignment to do it and it wore out because if those alignments aren't right you put something on you know 1800 all our tires and then you know six six thousand miles down the road you're already starting to see we're really bad so you want to make sure it gets done so start over with the stingray so if you have a c7 stingray or maybe even have a c6 coupe because their rims are the same size that carry the ones that GM made from the c6 to the c7 s and again I also want to prefer this because I know the hate mail will be the hate the outages will come I'm not, you know, I'm not a mechanic I'm just a guy like you I'm an owner I am from a small business, but I have educated myself on a few different things when it comes to tires, plus I have experience. with a few different tires and I want to copy that because there are so many different tires you can go with.
You may not even know to mention the tire you use and if that's the case, let us know in the comments because that's what it's all about getting the comments there so other people can read the communication then and see who knows what particular tire you might be interested in that it might not cover and can put your two cents on you know your experience with it and then you know the different tires I go on here or the tires I've heard of had some which I've seen some reviews on and those are the ones I'm going to go over now again when we talk about the Stingray for the c6 you have a lot of options.
I'm going to scroll to the bottom. I mean it's crazy how many options you have. There must be probably 20 different ones and I'm sorry if that's making you dizzy, so let's get started. at the top I don't really know anything about the Bridgestones if you're a big Bridgestone guy again you can let us know what you know down below in the description what you know about the ones you know about another thing also is you'll be able to see right here how much a set of would cost you four as we go through these here toward the bottom m and you're going to see a lot of price swings.
Now I will say this. I'm going to start right here with what's coming with them and that's going to be what's here. This is the original equipment, the Michelin Pilot. Super Sport like EPS now for me personally I like zps and that just means there's run-flat just because I had a flat tire on one of my mi zo6's before I ran over I was actually doing a video and I ran over a leaf and that blade lodged in it and cut pretty good luckily it wasn't on the sidewall but it was actually on the tread and all I remember is sitting there driving and immediately started going 30 29 28 27 the PSI gauge in the group it began to light up and showed that it was going down.
I was like I had to get to a place where there is a tire. You know there's something wrong. I looked on my phone where the nearest place is. I want to try to get a discount. You know I'm trying to see. e how far or how far was it from mine and it was about 24 miles away so I headed straight for it and when I got there it was down to about 6 psi on the actual tire which I was reading but when I got there And I got out and looked at it, the tire didn't look flat at all.
You know he was protecting the tire. You know I didn't see let's go over a tire that hurts a bit I think the best of both worlds is noise reduction for ride comfort as well as you know getting the benefit of having a flat run now may or may not be a flat run type of person but again if you still have stock tires you currently have the Pilot Super Sport as EPS and that will be on all the you know stingrays grant e50 dashes because there are a few the z51 has a few different tires.
We'll talk about those here in a minute, so you'll be looking to see if you want to change them. You lived where I lived. You're looking at around twelve hundred dollars to change those particular tires back on. say they're thirty-five a, they won't last 30,000, but they'll tell me they do great in the rain,Now you know you're not going to go out and go 100 miles an hour and it's pouring with rain but in my experience with that tire, I enjoyed the tire. It was good for me. You know it has good traction in the rain. Other things like that, plus great performance.
The Super Sport 4s. A lot of people are starting to use that Michelin. With that particular one you're looking at, you know a little over eleven hundred dollars for those tires and of course installing them. come out with the zo6 yet or i dont think they are im going to but i know they have they are on the coupes but no. I'm on the stingrays and also back on the C6 you can get those good the two Pilot Sport cup those are where me and that one was. Sorry I don't know they may be lower but the cup two tires unless you're going to follow them don't mess with them so again you have the four S Michelin Pilot Sport to PS for I don't know much about that, it looks like they have a liquidation deal on this so evidently they're getting rid of the ones i don't know you have the other time the Toyo Toyo tires will continue to roll here. bf goodrich continental extremes this extreme contact now i have experience with that tire its not a run flat but i had those on my zero six when i sold it and because i wanted to see what the driving was like on it and it was a really good tire it had good traction it had good performance you know around corners different things like that it's just that it's a very popular tire a lot of you have told me you have it on your car and that's what they put on it and instead of supercars it's the only thing for me as it wasn't a run flat so again that's kind of you know these tires and wheels are expensive you don't want to mess up your brakes stuff like that because you get caught somewhere and these aren't the best cars to tow somewhere even if you have a trailer you know hook it up in the front it's just you want to try and avoid having to have it you know put it on a dolly or something because your tires get they just went down so again yeah the Continentals are good tires Cooper tires I know in the past to have them it's always been good the Goodyear Eagle F1 I know they've put the Goodyear on the zl1 One Le Package A lot of people said those too They're cool tires so I'm not.
I'm going to review each tire here because there's a ton for them but I want to go over this right here it's called the Michelin Pilot Sport as3 plus and that's the ultra performance all season tire so many great comments on this particular tire now there's a gentleman that is again I talked about Brian earlier I'll show a video here behind me and as you know some pics of that tire he's got after a few track days now you'll be able to notice in the corners whenever you need a track day these are, I don't know, I don't think these were his dedicated track tires, I just think he had it there because he lives in the Pennsylvania area and this, you know, they have a lot of cold temperatures there, snow different things that I'm a dad, let from driving this, no, but maybe it is, but you'll see on the edge there's some marbling that happens on that just because when you take those corners, different things like that you're going to get marbling. the edges of that even passed me when I did the Auto crosses I could tell it will chew up the tires a little bit and if you're really going to be doing a little bit of tracking then you're going to go through you know you're going to go through some tires well, this is a really cheap way to get that performance but also know more traction for that more weather if you're going to be driving your

corvette

daily which a lot of people do i think that's a big misnomer that a lot of people don't give me count how many people drive your Corvette each day.
Lots of people do if you drive daily. Post the comment on daily handling, but I think it's going to be a great tire because you can get that particular one on all Corvettes. you can get them in the zero six the Grand Sport is er one I think it's the way to go when it comes to that because it's a run flat so it doesn't just have the insulation value within it that helps with the the road noise Brian told me it's a very quiet place he was very happy with the tyres. I don't know if those are the new tires on him but he's had the cup two, the supercars and now he has the as3+zp sport pilot, now you can get the exact same tire as you.
I'll look down here on a no zp or a non run flat and you'll see that it saves you a couple hundred bucks you know a hundred and seventy five bucks goes to run flats I think when it comes down to that and then you have I know Michelin , yeah these down here now if you live up north and have horrible weather and you know you drive your Corvette quite a bit the new Alpine PA pilot four man look at the tread on that stuff I mean its a winter snow tire dedicated to performance and they're relatively inexpensive so you might go for this particular tire versus the one we just talked about simply because it's going to be a true winter tire that you could put on and then maybe in the summer you know you could go with you know what do you know if you want d to do the michelin sport tire the sport AS if you wanted to do that the pilot sport so again some guys put the cars up they don't drive it all through the winter but if you are a d e those people that come out and drive that looks like it's a great tire that's been on the z51 part of the Stingray and that would be if it has the dry sump system it also has a little bit better for us not better but it's more of a suspension tight for tracking is going to have a little bit more of a different performance the melody etc on how it's done now if you have that you have to choose you don't have as many options which I think is nice but still has all great options of course the super sport pilot is EPS which would come with it also has the sport pilot 4s which again i heard a lot of great things about that particular tire which has the let i come here to see there is a sport pilot is 3zp again i think it will probably be the tiresome one for me once my supercars are done once i get my new

corvette

and once they are finished i think i will go to this one just for one more time not just because of the comments s that I got from Brian but just from the comments and things that I'm seeing here and you're talking about a tire that's five hundred dollars cheaper than the supercar now if you're going to do a bunch of tracking again I recommend you go with what come in the car because that is the best compound to get the best results on the track but i think this as3 super sport racer will give you great driving comfort and also give you great performance and then you will know if you get caught in the rain , things like that, plus, they hold up when it comes to the supercars, the biggest thing is you know the temperature, you know once you get to that 40 degree or less mark, you know you have to start watching out for those tires because let's say you went somewhere and got it we got stuck you had to park the car outside and it went down to the teens they went down to 20 degrees you know they recommend you put those tires back on the indoors without putting a lot of stress on them and allowing them to get to that 40 degree temperature for a 24 hour period before you go outside and start trying to get off the ground because if you don't those things can fall apart and they're there they don't do well in the cold weather in so again that's where i would highly recommend if you live in a really cold climate area these super sporty riders like s three i think are the way to go because not only will you know you're going to get a little bit better performance in colder weather even though you know which tire to watch out for as well it's not until you get into the Alpine that those things are really made to be out in the open for a long experience an extended period of time again you can get that in the ZP you can also get it in the the Alpine as I mentioned then also the non-run-flat so you can see the price difference there the Michelin the Alpine for you guys out there snow after driving snow they're looking at $1,400 versus you already know the AAS that's going to be, you know, 1150 so that's going to be on the Stingray the z51 package there now once you get into the zero six of the Grand Sport and the zr1 you know your options really narrow now again that's what's here but you have the Continental extreme sport which again I had those which I thought was a great tire again it just wasn't a run flat which didn't i'm comfortable having even though you're looking at around $1,300 for those and then you have the ones that come with the Pilot Super Sport CPS $1,800 you know those are cheap so again I think the only people who

should

buy those tires are people that they're going to be tracking your coupe cars unless your 127 bear is living in the on the track these these aren't going to be the tires for you either and now you know again if you're ordering a Corvette and want that 0-7 package and he wants the Ae ro and want all that stuff you can get that car without these two cup tires definitely be sure to watch the video of me ordering in mind you can that's what i did so again i would order any corvette without the two cup not worth it Have then you also have the option of the Alpine pilot again, that will be for you guys who are in the colder areas and might want to ride it more often for it to be winter and snow performance. five hundred bucks less it's got the ultra high performance all season the riders took a s3z PS again those going flat 1371 so 1371 the eight was an 1818 38 so you're saving $500 you're basically saving $500 go with the Michelin Pilot Sport and you'll get that cool performance and then you'll get that you know all type of season tire and then great drivability because now they've got those insulated with that foam so you don't hear a lot of road noise and especially with the mag ride control you're going to have on your non grand sport or your z51 or you know the zo6 and i know i'm trying to think I think someone let me know in the comment if you have a low stingray if they come with and rick you can let us know as well If those come, all Corvettes come with mag drive.
I was thinking not. with these tires you can definitely change the way your Corvette drives and especially if you're doing a lot of cruising trips, you're with a Vette club and that's all they do is go out and have a good time on those so you can't not i can get that on the zp it seems you can't get that on a fl not run on maybe you can it's just not on their website so it's a really good selection of options if you have a grand sport or zero six or zero one I think with the Continental I think I think unless you're just a continental person I think this first the Continental looks the Continental extreme context extreme book put the name I think it is I don't think you would go with that tire I think the best tire will now be the AS 3zp sport rider because you're going to get that great ride you're going to get great performance all season long and then you're going to get that in a run out of air as well so I think definitely again That will be my favorite tire.
There is a tire that you are seeing well. here behind me right now that's going to be my favorite tire because I'm not a track guy and if I go out on it right here you can't do it because we just saw some pictures of Brian having the exact same tire on track and he said that he did really well he actually did a track day as Connor it was raining and he said you know I don't recommend you do it but he had already gotten there and I got the drive time and the track was open so he went and He said the tire really did it. really very very good felt control of the car and now I'm sure I wasn't pushing as hard as I normally would but yeah again the tire rack is sponsored by anyone but I've bought tires off the rack for tires. do a great job let's ship it free shipping anything over 50 bucks and then they will even give you a list of companies you can go to and they will fit it for you but again know if you go to the discount tire it will match the prices you see here and a lot of times they can even be cheaper and then of course whatever your install you know 20 bucks a tire or whatever the case might be but again I highly recommend the mount any time you put tires new ones to balance it and at least try to balance it if you're driving the car at least every six eight months if you're driving aggressively if you're going on a trip you know because we all know you hit something you hit something and you seem to know if it's a truck tire that came off from an 18 wheeler or something and you know you caught something or you know that no matter what you're going to bump into things when you're driving and you know if something hits it's going to go out of alignment or something, it will go through those tires quickly, so if you're driving, I highly recommend it. you drive your Corvette you know these cars guys its not men and women because there are a lot of women who own these cars these cars are not meant to sit in your garage atunless you know it's snowing outside. going out and driving going out I enjoy you know a lot when I go to car shows and I'm walking around taking pictures of different cars you know one thing I always look at I always look at the front of people's cars do you know if they have a PPF on it if they have a liner ceramic maybe they just wax their car you know what I'm looking for I'm looking for rock chips I'm looking for you know I'm looking for just some damage to the front of the car because you know what it tells me that tells me that guy or that woman comes out and drive that car and you know this is not a car you know we should be proud of we only have 700 miles on it you know we shouldn't be proud you know I've had this car for three years and I have 1,500 miles on it you know everything that means you haven't enjoyed the car and that's what we all should do you know when you buy these i bought my zr1 and drove it had it for about six months and had five mi l miles on it and I drove it as often as All my cars may have always gotten a lot of miles, compared to the average Corvette owner, who only puts about 3,000 miles on this Corvette a year, stops and thinks on those 3,000 miles a year you're making ridiculous payments. on it or you paid cash you spent good money get out there and drive it don't worry you know Rockchip in the mirror don't worry about a rock you know why 'cause when you gonna sell that car if you sell it every time you sell it every time you ditch trade it for whatever it's not going to matter it's not going to affect the value of that car as long as you don't need to drive it you know don't be thinking about your resale value just think about hey i got this car now im going out and enjoy so that ends the first episode of corvettes nominate garage talk i want to thank you guys for stopping by i know this was a long video but again i just want on these particular ones to bring up topics and different things t send topics and then i will also some of these where it's just Q&A where you guys can submit questions and I'm just going to go through a list of questions that I would get here email or on Instagram and you know, I'll try to answer what best I can, but then again, I'm not going to be everything.
I don't know everything. believe me. I know. I know. to a lot of things so definitely leave it in the comments be active that's what it's all about leaving comments down there what's your favorite tire you know which tires you've had bad experiences with which tires you've enjoyed but again yo thanks for stopping by i cant wait to get the new corvette and start doing some vlogs with it you know how to make videos we will be changing it up a lot and changing up a lot of aesthetic stuff. in that car you know I'm not much of a problem when it comes to you you know I'm not interested in pro chargers I'm not interested in the car that goes you know 1200 horsepower just ain't you don't know I love to have a horsepower but I don't chase it that way because I've always said in the past that there's always going to be someone faster than you out there you always have someone that will blow your mind even though you think you have the best Corvette in the world but you Corvette you make it the way you want you build it the way you want and you enjoy it and that will always be my my my my banner here is to drive your Corvette guys and I see you guys in the next video hope one and all of you have a blessed rest of the week and we will see you in the next
