they are designed to do is to be like you know many of you have done. been on the forums you've been on, you know, maybe you were researching something and you stumbled upon a forum and people were

talk

Because maybe? I have a Grand Sport zero six, so let's dive into the ones I've had experience with. Some people in the community reached out to me and said, Hey Chuck, these are my thoughts on this particular tire and one of the gentlemen had Brian who has been a member of the channel here for a long time. I mean, you guys have seen it if you're on Instagram now if you have an Instagram account even if you don't. I don't have an Instagram account, make sure you check out Instagram, there's almost 10,000 of us, that's going to open up a lot of other avenues, some other things I can do with Instagram, swiping videos, just a few different things I think.

It'll be really cool to be able to do that, also that's where I'll notify you when a video comes out because if you've been on YouTube for a while, even though you can hit subscribe, I'll send you the bail notification. I don't always get notifications, but if you follow me on Instagram, you'll always get a notification when a new video comes out. Enter YouTube if you are new to the channel. I've owned three different Corvettes. I have had a zo6 2016 zero six. 2017 Grand Sport and then also a 2019 zr1 and I just placed an order for a 2019 zo6.

If you haven't seen that video, I'll have it linked below, you'll want to check it out, see what my specs are and everything. which right now looks like it was originally going to be built in March, rate Corvette Conti, a good friend of the channel and also the gentleman I'm buying the car from was able to pull some strings and get us where we're going. It's going to be built the week of January 21st, so here this month, hopefully, we'll have that car, probably mid-February, hopefully, the weather in Ohio is good. Some people said they laughed when you go to Ohio, you know, make sure you let us know.
I would like to stop by to see the new car, meet you and I will definitely let you know that once I know what day I will pick it up, I know it will be a Friday when I will pick it up. I'll be flying to him on Thursday, pick him up on Friday, and then bring him home. Also, a lot of people have asked you, you know, Chuck, why don't you make a delivery to the museum? It's actually closer than driving to Rick's house. His mechanic Chuck is going to do the extreme catback course with the X-pipe system on the car and you know, he wanted to do it before he came back.
The courses are not too far from where he is and that way I can just brake the car and just enjoy, enjoy that 7 speed until I get home, so that's why I'm doing that instead of making the delivery to the museum . I hope to make it to the party here in April and there will be something else. There's news on that for today's episode too. You'll see a few different photos that will be here behind me and the first photo is a photo of Tony's

garage

. Tony is in Maryland and I met him probably about a year and a half ago.
Years ago he lived in Texas, he was in this vet club. I think it was Lone Star Vets Lone Star Corvette Club. I'm not sure Tony, you can let us know the description is in the comments. Beautiful Corvettes, he used to be a running back at Penn State, the Nittany Lions, you could tell he used to be a running back, guys built like a brick, he takes good care of himself, but that's his picture there, if you want to have your pillow, too works for Under. Armor and oops, sorry he's tapping the mic, but yeah, I've got some Under Armor gear here for the channel and you know, maybe I can work with Tony in the future to try to do something with Under Armour, maybe we can.
I can get some 9 1 8 Corvettes gear made by Under Armor, so I know he had mentioned that to me and we can look at it in the future, if that's something you're excited about, maybe you'd like to get a t-shirt. I like this, but I would let you know my information on this. Definitely let me know in the comments if you would be interested in something like this. You want to have a photo of your car here behind me, a photo of your garage. We're talking about different things now. I won't be able to let everyone opt out because I get too many.
I probably have 300 emails that I need to go through and take pictures and do different things, but if you would like to see your photo lying here behind me because that's where I want to share your cars when the new car arrives. If you are a follower of the channel again, you know that I like to make vlogs and generally. I would share their cars, it's on video, well I'll share them here in black on the green screen here behind me while we talk about everything, so enough talking because I could just stand here and speak for who.
You know how long, but this is garage talk, well that's what you do in the garage, you just talk, but I know you clicked to hear about

tires

, so what we're going to do is pull a tire rack behind me and A tire. The shelves are a great place to get prices on different things and then go to, you know, maybe your local tire store, whether you know how to tap tires, whether it's Pep Boys, whether it's TNT, my local company that I use here it's discount tires, great guys over there, Allen and The guys always take great care of me, they've taken care of a lot of people that have Corvettes here in the Tulsa area, but I want to talk about when you get the car, if you get a scratch, if you have a grand sport, if you have a zo6 if you don't have the zo7 package on the last three, then you will have what are called standard Supersport tires on there and they are tires that have a compound that Michelin makes just for Corvette and is designed to get the best possible performance of that car.
Now, of course, you know, those usually mean they have a 30,000 mile warranty, you know, over that 30,000 miles, how long they

should

last. they don't last 30,000 miles you don't, I've had guys in my vet club, they lasted fifteen thousand miles, other people lasted ten thousand, it just really depends on how you drive the car, are you tracking it? Do you know how aggressively you drive it when you're on the road? You know if you're one of those people that just gets in and cruises and you're not cornering at 90 miles now or anything like that? Your tires will probably last a lot longer, but it also depends on how much you travel with them, how much you go out and drive, and another big thing will be how well the balance of the wheels is and that's something I would skip your alignment and that's something I would definitely do. , even if you buy a new Corvette.
I know that when I get mine here I will do an alignment because sometimes the alignment in the factories is not like that. it's not all the best and I will have linked below what I normally set mine up and there are two different settings that you can set them to if you're just going to do, you know, mostly just city street driving and then maybe a track occasional. a different camber and tow and you know how you want to align it and then there's one that if you're just going to go out and follow it, how would you like to align it, I'll link it below and would you like someone to align it, that's not me, unless have a really good dealership where the mechanic knows what he's doing a lot of times that's not always the case, sometimes those guys you know can barely put on the tires.
Let alone don't mess up the side skirts trying to lift them up, so if you have someone who does a great job with alignments, that's who I would recommend taking them to. I do not use the dealership for my alignments. I use someone. otherwise and that way you can mark it because that will go a long way to improving the life of your tires if you haven't already done so. I have many different videos and I have also linked below the video of every time I changed my tires. On the black zo6 I went from super sporty to a tire that we'll talk about here in a minute and that's the Continental extreme contact sports tire and you can see how you know you just start to see it through to the end. belt on the inner sides and a lot of that, part of that was because I lowered the car, part of that was because I didn't go straight out and align to do it and wear it out because you If those alignments aren't right, you put some, you know, 1800, all our tires and then you know six six thousand miles down the road, you're starting to see that we're really bad, so you gotta make sure that that gets done, starting with again starting with the Stingray, so yeah you have a c7 stingray or maybe you even have a c6 coupe because their tires are the same size as the ones gm made from the c6 to the c7 s and again i want to give preference to this as well. because I know the hate mail and hate clippings will come.
I'm not, you know, I'm not a mechanic, I'm just a guy like you. I'm a small business owner, but I've educated myself on a few different things. When it comes to rims, I also have experience with a few different rims, so I want to copy that because there are a lot of different rims you can go with. You may not even know how to mention the tire you use and if that is the case. Let us know in the comments because that's what it's all about, you guys put the comments down there so other people can read the comments and see what particular tire they're interested in that I maybe don't cover. and you can put in your two cents, you know your experience with it and then you know the different tires that I review here or the tires that I've heard about, some that I've seen some reviews about and those, so those are the ones That's it.
I will review now when we talk about the Stingray for the c6. You have many options. I'm going to scroll to the end. I mean, it's crazy how many options you have. There probably have to be 20 different ones and I'm sorry if that makes you dizzy, so we'll start at the top. I really don't know anything about Bridgestones if you're a big Bridgestone guy again. You can let us know what you know below in the description that you know about those you know. Another thing too is that you'll be able to see here what a set of four would cost you as we go through them here towards the bottom and So you'll see a lot of variations in price now.
I'm going to start here with what they come in and they'll be these here. This is the original equipment, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. like EPS now personally I love zps and that just means there is run-flat simply because I had a flat on one of my mi zo6 before I ran over it I was actually making a video. and I ran over a blade and that blade got stuck on it and it cut pretty good, luckily it wasn't on the side wall it was on the tread and all I remember is sitting there driving and I immediately started moving forward 30 29 28 27 the PSI gauge on the cluster started to come on and show that it was going down.
I thought I had to get to the tire place. You know something is wrong. I've caused some damage, so I was ready. You know I looked. my phone where is my closest place I want to try to get a discount you know I'm trying to see how far it is or how far I was from mine and it was about 24 miles away and that was straight I looked it up and you know when I got there there it was about 6 psi on the actual tire, what I was reading, but when I got there and I got out and looked at it, the tire didn't look deflated at all, you know it was protecting. the tire, you know, I didn't see it, you know, that's why it goes flat, so that's what they're there, now we're going to go over a tire that hurts a little bit.
I think the best of both worlds is ride comfort, noise. In addition to getting the benefit of having a run flat now, you may or may not be a run flat type of person, but again, if you still have the original tires, you currently have the Pilot Super Sport as EPS and that will be activated. all you know, stingrays give out e50 boards because there are some, the z51 has some different rims, we'll get to those here in a minute, so, if you want to trade them in, the ones you lived where I lived, you're looking at about twelve hundred dollars to trade those particular tires again.
I say that they are thirty-five and they are not going to last 30,000, but I will tell myself that they work very well in the rain. Now you knowYou're not going to go out and go 100 miles an hour and it's pouring rain. but in my experience with that tire I enjoyed the tire. You know, it gave me good traction in the rain. Different things like that, plus great performance, the Super Sport 4, a lot of people are starting to use that Michelin. with that particular one you're looking at, you know a little over eleven hundred dollars for those tires and of course installing them, you know, I don't know much about the 4 because that's something they didn't know. come out with the zo6 yet or i don't think they're going to do it, but i know they have them in the coupes, but they don't.
I'm on the manta rays and also on c6 again. I can get them okay, the Pilot Sport cup two, that's where that was and I'm sorry, I don't know, they may be lower down, but the cup two tires, unless you're going to follow them, stay out of it. with them, so again you have the four S Michelin Pilot Sport a PS to get. I don't know much about that one. It looks like they have a settlement agreement on this, so they're obviously getting rid of the ones I Don't know, you got the Toyo Toyo tires again.
Toyo tires will continue to roll here. BF Goodrich Continental Extremes. This extreme contact. Now I have experience with that tire. It's not a run flat, but I had them on my zero six when I sold it. and because I wanted to see what the driving was like and it was a really good tire, it had good traction, it had good performance, you know, cornering, different things like that, again, it's a very popular tire for many of you. they have in their car and that's what they put in it and instead of the super sports car, that's the only thing for me since it wasn't a run flat, so again, that's kind of like you know.
These tires and wheels are expensive, you don't want to mess up your brakes. Different things like that because you get stuck somewhere and these are not the best cars to tow somewhere, even if you have a trailer, you know? on the front, you just want to try to avoid having to put it, you know, on a flatbed or something because your tires just go down, so again, yeah, Continentals are good tires, Cooper tires, I know fair In the past, those have always been good, the Goodyear Eagle F1. I know they put the Goodyear in the zl1 one le package.
A lot of people said those are great tires too, so I'm not going to go over all of them. Just one tire here because there are a ton of them, but I want to go over this right here. It is called Michelin Pilot Sport as3 plus and it is the ultra-performance tire for all seasons. There are a lot of great reviews on this particular tire now. There's a gentleman that again I talked about Brian before. I'm going to show a video here behind me and you also know some pictures of that tire that it has after a few days on the track.
Now you'll be able to see them on the corner of them every time you need a day at the track, these are I don't know, I don't think these were his dedicated track tires, I just think he had it there because he lives in the Pennsylvania area and you know they get a a lot of cold temperatures up there snow different things I'm dad stop driving this no but maybe it is but you'll see on the edge there's some marbling that happens on that just because when you take those corners that differ things like that one, you're going to marble the edges, that even happened to me when I did the autocrosses, I noticed that it's going to chew up the tires a little bit and if you're really going to be out there doing some tracking then you're going to go through some tires Well, this is a really inexpensive way to get that performance, but you also know that you're going to have more traction for that wear and tear if you're going to do a daily drive in your Corvette, which a lot of people do.
I think it's a huge misnomer that many people don't realize how many people actually drive their Corvette daily. Many people do this if they drive daily. Post the comment. drive, but I think it's going to be a great tire because you can get that particular one on all the Corvettes, you can get them on the zero six, the Grand Sport is the one that I think is the way to go when it comes to that. Because it is a run flat, it not only has insulation value inside that helps with road noise. Brian was telling me that it's a really quiet and smooth ride.
He was very happy with the tires. I don't know if those are them. the new option for him, but he has had the cup two, the super sports cars and now he has the sport pilot as3 + zp. Now you can get the exact same tire that you'll see down here on a non-zp or non-run flat and you'll see that it saves you a couple hundred dollars. You know, one hundred and seventy-five dollars is going to deflate. I think when it comes down to it, you have what I know. Michelin. Yes, these are down here now. you live up north and you have horrible weather and you know you drive your Corvette quite a bit, the new Alpine PA fours pilot, look at the tread on those things, I mean it's a dedicated performance winter snow tire and they're relatively you you know it's cheap, so you might go with this particular tire instead of the one we just talked about just because it's going to be a real winter tire that you can use and then maybe in the summer you know you could use it, you know, if you wanted to do the michelin sport tire, the AS sport, if you wanted to do that, the pilot sport, so again, some guys put the cars together, they don't drive it all during the winter, but if you're one of those people that goes out and handling that seems like it's a great tire on the z51 part of the Stingray and that would be if you have the dry sump system you have a little bit better, we too, not better, but it's more of a tight suspension to Track will perform a little more different, the melody and so on about how it's done now.
If you have that, you have to choose, you don't have as many options, which I think is good. but you still have all the great options of course the pilot super sport is EPS that it would come with, you also have the pilot sport 4 which again I have heard a lot of good things about that particular tire that you have. let me go down here and there's a pilot sport that's 3zp again. I think that's probably going to be the tire for me once I'm done with my supercars, once I get my new Corvette and once they're done, I think I'm going to go to This is just due to, again, not just the comments that I got from Brian, but you know the reviews and the things I'm seeing here and you're talking about a tire that's now five hundred dollars cheaper than the super sport.
I'm going to do a lot of tracking again. I highly recommend that you go with what comes on the car because that is the best compound to get the best results on the track, but I think that this as3 super sports driver will give you great driving comfort and will also give you great performance and Then, you know, if you get caught in the rain, things like that also hold true when it comes to super sports cars, the most important thing is that you know the temperature, you know it once you arrive. up to that 40 degree mark or so, you know you have to start being careful with those tires because let's say you went somewhere and you got stuck, you had to park the car outside and it got down to 20 degrees.
I know they recommend that you put those tires back in without putting too much stress on them and allow them to reach that 40 degree temperature for a 24 hour period before you get out and start trying to take off on them because if not, those things can fall apart. and they're there, they don't work, they don't work well in cold climates, so again, that's where I highly recommend these pilots if you live in a really cold climate area. Super sport a s threes I think it's the way to go because not only will you know you'll get a little bit better performance in the colder weather even though you also know the tire you need to be careful with.
It's not until you get into Alpine that those things are really made for being outdoors for a long period of time again, you can get that in ZP, you can also get that in Alpine, as I mentioned, then also the non-running. flat too, so you can see the difference in prices there, the Michelin, the Alpine, for you guys that are out there, in the snow, after driving in the snow, you look at $1,400 versus, you know, the AAS, which it's going to be, you know, 1150, so that's going to be on the Stingray, the z51 package there now, once you get into the zero six of the Grand Sport and the zr1, you know your options really narrow down now again, that's what that there is here, but you have the Continental extreme sport, which again.
I've had those that I thought were a great tire again, it just wasn't a run-flat tire, which I'm not comfortable with, although you're looking at about $1,300 for those and then you have the ones that come with the Pilot. Super Sport CPS $1,800 you know, those are cheap, so again, I think the only people who

should

buy those tires are the people who are going to track their cup two cars unless your bear 127 lives at the track these these Aren't they going to be tires for you either? Now you know again: if you're ordering a Corvette and you want that 0-7 package and you want the Aero and you want all those things, you can get that car without them. cup two tires definitely be sure to watch the video of my order note you can that's what I did so again I would order any Corvette without the cup two tires it's not worth having them so you also have the Alpine pilot option again, that is.
It will be for you guys who are in colder areas and maybe want to drive it more often, so it's winter and snow performance. They're looking at thirteen seventy two, that's a really good price. They're talking again, five hundred dollars. less you have the ultra high performance all season long, the drivers were wearing a s3z PS again, those will be flat 1371, so 1371; what eight was an 1818 38 so you're saving $500 you're basically saving $500. the Michelin Pilot Sport and you're going to get that great performance and then you're going to get you know all season tires and then great drivability because now they have them insulated with that foam so that way you don't get a lot of road noise coming from them and especially with the magnetic ride control that you're going to have on your no grand sport or your z51 or you know the zo6 and I know I'm trying to think, I think someone let me know in the comment if you have a low part, if they come with Rick you can let us know too.
They come? All Corvettes come with magnetic ride. I was thinking no. I was thinking that the base model does not have a magnetic ride. but maybe I'm wrong but magnetic ride control along with these tires can definitely change the way your Corvette drives and especially if you drive a lot you're in a Vette club and that's all they do is go out and have fun on those, so you can't, you can't get that one on the zp, it seems like you can't get it on a non-running floor, maybe you can, it's just not on their website, so it's a very good option. selection if you have a Grand Sport or zero six or zero one I think with the Continental I think I think unless you're just a continental person I think this is first seen the Continental the context book extreme extreme Continental name it I think not I think you choose that tire.
I think the best tire now will be the AS 3zp sport pilot because you will get great handling, you will get excellent performance throughout the season and then you will also get it in a run flat, so I think it will definitely be my reference tire. There's a tire that you guys are looking at here behind me right now, that's going to be my reference tire because I'm not a track guy and if I go out here with this tire you won't be able to do it because we just saw some pictures of Brian with exactly same tire on the track and said it went very well. he actually did a track day, it was Connor, it was raining and he said, you know, I don't recommend you do it, but I had already gotten there and I got the drive time and the track was open, so he went to and he said the tire it worked very very very well you felt in control of the car and now I'm sure I wasn't pushing as hard as I normally would but yeah tire rack again this is sponsored by anyone but I've bought it. tires from the tire rack how they do a great job we will send them to you with free shipping over 50 dollars and then they will even give you a list of companies that you can go to and they will install them for you but again.
I know if you go for a discount tire the prices will match what you see here and many times they can even be cheaper and of course whatever your installation is you know it's $20 per tire or whatever. The case it could be, but again, I highly recommend the stand every time you put new tires on to balance them and at least try to balance them if you're driving the car at least every six eight months if you're driving aggressively if you're going on a trip, you know, because everyone We know, we run over something, we hit something and it seems like you know if it's a truck tire that came off an 18 wheeler or something like that and you know you caught something or you know,No matter what, you're going to run into things when you're driving and you know if something hits it out of alignment or something, it's going to go through those tires quickly, so if you're driving it, I highly recommend it. you drive your Corvette, you know these cars, guys, it's not guys and ladies because there are a lot of ladies that own these cars; these cars are not meant to stay in your garage unless you know it's snowing outside it's winter these cars are meant to go out and drive go out and enjoy you know a lot when I go to car shows and I walk around getting pictures of different cars you know one thing I'm always looking at I'm always looking at the front of people's cars, you know if they have a PPF, if they have a ceramic coating, maybe they just wax their car, you know what I'm looking for, I'm looking for rock chips , I'm looking for, you know, I'm looking for just some damage to the front of the car because you know what that tells me that that guy or that lady goes out and drives that car and you know this is not a car that we should be proud of.
I only have 700 miles on it you know we shouldn't be proud you know I've had this car for three years and I have 1,500 miles on it you know all that means is that you just haven't enjoyed the car and that's what we should all do, you know, when you buy these, I bought my zr1 and drove it. I had it for about six months and put five thousand miles on it and drove it as often as I could with all my cars. I've always had a lot of miles on it, you know, compared to the average Corvette owner, who only puts about 3,000 miles on this Corvette a year.
You stop and think about those 3,000 miles a year and you're either making ridiculous payments or you paid cash. that's why you spent a lot of money go out and drive it don't worry you know Rockchip in the mirror don't worry about a rock you know why because when you go to sell that car if you sell it when you sell it when you get rid of it, trade it in for whatever it is, It won't matter, it won't affect the value of that car to the extent that you need to not drive it, you know, don't think about your resale value, just think about, hey, I got it.
This car I'm now going to go out and enjoy, that's how the first episode of the Corvette Garage Talk ends. I want to thank you for stopping by. I know this was a long video, but again I just want to bring you in on these particular ones. Create topics and different things that you submit in topics and then I'll also do some of these where it's just questions and answers where you guys can submit questions and I'll just go through a list of questions that I would get here via email or on Instagram and you know, I'll try to answer the best I can, but again, I'm not going to be everything.
I don't know everything, believe me, I know, I know, I know. very very good it's about a lot of things so definitely leave it in the comments stay active this is what it's all about leave comments down there what's your favorite tire you know which tires you've had bad experiences with which tires . You enjoyed it, but again I appreciate you stopping by. I can't wait to get the new Corvette and start making some vlogs with it. You already know how to do it. Videos. We will change it a lot and we will change it. a lot of cosmetic stuff on that car, you know, I'm not a big deal when it comes to, you know, I'm not interested in pro chargers, I'm not interested in the car that runs, you know, 1,200 horsepower, it's just not like that.
No, you know, I love having horsepower, but I don't chase it that way because I've always said in the past that there will always be someone faster than you, there will always be someone who will fly past you even if you think you have. I have the best Corvette in the world, but you make your Corvette the way you want, you build it the way you want and you enjoy it, and that will always be my banner here is to drive your Corvette, guys and I'll see you in the next video I hope each and every one of you have a blessed rest your week and I'll see you next time
