Jun 03, 2021
Hey, what's up flavor family, it's Bobby and Art, back at the grocery store because

summer

is in full swing and I thought we should do a video review of everything

condiments

. Ketchup,

mustard

, barbecue sauce,

mayo

nnaise, taste all the things we love to put on our steaks, burgers and hot dogs, and I'm very sad to say that we have to stay away from many of these

condiments

. My friends are sneaking in a lot of corn syrup and sugar preservatives that we simply don't need in our bodies. These ingredients, but luckily I found several really good condiments that we can use

this

summer

, so we'll make a big selection of what to buy and what to

avoid

, but before we do, take a second and click that little subscribe button. because every week we are releasing three videos, you two videos on the weekend and a live stream during the week, better yet, right below

this

video there is a little bell icon, press that bell icon and enable all notifications because as soon as we go live, you don't want to miss this, especially on our live streams, we're cooking a recipe from start to finish, it's a lot of fun and we want you to be a part of it, okay, let's start with tomato sauce, right ?

It's as American as we can get and we will choose Heinz. You probably know that Heinz might not be the best choice for

ketchup

, but there are a few other reasons why it's really no good. We look here. There are four grams of sugar per four tablespoon. grams is a teaspoon of sugar. I don't know anyone who only uses one tablespoon of

ketchup

, so if you're going to put maybe three tablespoons on your hot dog or your burger, we're talking about three teaspoons of added sugar. of that could be natural, but I say only one gram of the four will be natural, so there is a ton of added sugar and it's not cane sugar, but high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup and natural flavoring , the dreaded natural flavoring found in Everything's in the Grocery Store that I'm going to talk about in a second, there's new and very concerning information I learned about natural flavorings, so we'll put that aside and then you could say: "Okay, Bobby, well, right next to you is the Heinz, right?" Added sugar is probably a good option, and it would be if they weren't using the worst quality sweetener ever known in the form of sucralose.

More Interesting Facts About,

Sucralose is another word for Splenda. Splenda is a chemically made sugar that is really bad for your health because it kills a lot of your good gut bacteria and is really bad for your intestines. Also, once again they put the natural flavoring in here, so there you go, so you could say, "Okay, Bobby, well, right next to you here, this is Heinz sweetened with honey, if we look." In the ingredients there is no cane sugar there is no high fructose corn syrup there is honey well the problem is that you need to go to Netflix and watch a documentary called The Rotten choose the honey episode because a lot of honey is imported for use Food product like this in America is from China and the cheaters in China cut their honey with rice syrup and then ship it here and it is used in food products like this.

It's a really big scam and now China is

avoid

ing that by sending their honey to the Philippines first. or Thailand then shipping it here is really bad news, plus it tastes natural so I wouldn't buy this one either, luckily the best one in its class and they have it here at Target is Primal Kitchen. This is keto ketchup and paleo whole 30. We look at the super clean ingredients, no sugar, no sweeteners, no artificial natural flavors, it's a little expensive, so if you remember, I have the flav cd keto sugar free ketchup recipe, it's three dollars for 12 ounces so it is much cheaper than this, I will put the recipe below, it is fantastic, lasts three weeks in the refrigerator and is very easy to make.

There are a couple

more

options that I brought with me. This is a record I set today for the most outside foods. I have ever taken it to a grocery store if you want the lowest sugar content store bought ketchup you can get. I found it at Trader Joe's. I know this is the full third. These are whole foods. This one only has organic ketchup from Trader Joe's. two grams of sugar per tablespoon that's half the amount that Heinz has and it's organic surprisingly whole foods actually has the same amount of sugar as Heinz so I wouldn't get that for my Walmart fans y'all know , g Hughes, right?
He makes the sugar-free ketchup and barbecue sauce, which I'll talk about in a minute. He costs 288 per container, but I can't really give him my seal of approval as much as I'd like. We look at the ingredients he uses. modified corn starch as a thickener, well it comes from GMO corn so that's point number one and he uses sucralose aka Splenda as a sweetener so as much as I want to approve this one I can't so I bought this one too in um in Walmart wills. and there is no sugar added the only sweetener is dates and again there are only two grams of sugar so it is not keto approved but it is 30 and paleo approved and this is a great option so that's it for ketchups so those are your options just read the ingredients stick to a low sugar level preferably no sugar then we go up here we go to the

mustard

s and I was in my head thinking oh all mustards are good , especially the others, are some ingredients, all the conventional mustards, the French ones.
Heinzes look at the ingredients and everything is fine until they add natural flavorings. We've been talking about this a lot lately to summarize very quickly when you see natural flavorings on a label that 90 of the ingredients in a grocery store say there is nothing. Natural about that, the rule is that they have to start with something natural like a mustard seed, a tomato, a peach, as long as they start with something natural, they can literally add up to a hundred chemicals to it and change it and alter it in a laboratory with a scientific and still calls it natural, the reason they can do that is because it is not a government regulated term and it is totally bad for you because it acts as a message because it hooks you to the product, what they do is isolate the properties bolder flavors in natural flavoring to excite your taste buds excite your brain.
Buy

more

. What happens if you buy more? They make more money so they have practically hijacked your taste buds and natural flavorings are completely unnatural so stay away from that. The only ones I found that didn't taste natural were organic. You have to buy them organic, so first of all, here at Target, organic yellow mustard simply balanced, look at the ingredients, as clean as possible. Walmart has an organic brand of mustard, as clean as possible. trader joe's has one whole foods has one there is a primary kitchen one called organic ville annie's organic foods eaten and woodstock it's actually not much more expensive but you want to avoid those ingredients let's turn our attention to the

mayo

nnaise let's say you want to reach for it the oil mayonnaise olive because you want a healthier mayonnaise, be very careful friends because look at the ingredients here it's soy oil and then olive oil, so they use more soy than olive oil and they usually combine it with soy canola. and olives, so I wouldn't trust a brand like this and they generally use very low quality olive oil.
Then we check here, most standard mayonnaises will have natural flavorings, but they also have this ingredient. Check it out, calcium disodium edta. This is a food preservative that covers rancid or aging odors in fats and products. It is a bad preservative because it is also very bad for the stomach, intestines and intestinal bacteria, so it is something you should avoid, but we talked about this in the video about cooking oils soybean oil, canola oil and vegetable oil are very low quality oils in my opinion because they are very refined and highly processed and they heat very high and they use a chemical called hexane to extract the oil from the plant when You already finished this video, watch that one and you will learn why we never buy those type of oils and that's the one they use for this one, so that's a no, and then never do yourself a favor and buy light mayonnaise because what is mayonnaise?
It's an emulsion of fat on fat, oil on eggs, if it's light, they remove the oil and put sugar in it, so we never understand that even something like Hellmann's Organic is better, it's a step up from normal hulls or normal boats. We look at the ingredient, they are using organic soybean oil, so it is non-GMO, but it is still highly processed. Ideally you want to look for expeller pressed oils, but they don't use any of that as a preservative, but it still has the natural flavor. What do we do well? What do we do when it comes to mayonnaise?
Well, luckily, they have my favorite mayonnaise here at Target. It's a little pricey, but this is Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayonnaise. We love avocado oil because it is a heart-healthy oil. high in oleic acids which means it increases good cholesterol, HDL reduces bad cholesterol, LDL and it's just a good oil and look at the ingredients in this super clean mayonnaise, just a handful and the taste of this is amazing yes You're going to buy Sir Kensington's, make sure it's the one without sugar. 90 of them have sugar. This one actually doesn't have it. If you are lucky enough to live near a Costco that sells the large bottle of choice foods, avocado oil mayonnaise, this is also the best deal. some costco i think in texas and maybe new jersey they have a big bottle of primary kitchen scoop that is one of the best deals for um mayonnaise and then if you want to get vegan mayonnaise stay away from this just mayonnaise even though it doesn't have egg and They use expeller-pressed canola oil, which is the best.
They still add calcium disodium edta and tapioca maltodextrin, which increases blood sugar because it has a high glycemic index and is a food preservative. I don't like it, it's actually one of the best. vegan mayonnaises make a soy-free version, but if you look at the ingredients, it's super clean. There's also one that made me laugh. There is a vegan one called Earth Balance Mindful Mayo. It's like, can we be more zen when it comes to mayonnaise? that one is also very good, there is a horrible one from Walden Farms called Amazing Mayo, there is nothing surprising about it, it is a lot of preservatives and chemicals, all the Walden Farms brands, the coffee creamers, the mayonnaise, all of those are really terrible and then hate.
To do this to you in the south, but I know you love Duke's mayonnaise, they sell it at Walmart. I just brought it here today, although it has no salt, it has natural flavorings and it has the dreaded calcium. disodium edta and it's made with highly processed, highly refined GMO soy oreo, so I hate to say it, but Bobby doesn't approve of this one. I would be remiss without saying that I have flav city avocado oil mayonnaise, a recipe in the description box, it is paleo. Whole30 on keto um lasts seven days in your refrigerator, but if you use a pasteurized egg it will last 30 days and it's a lot cheaper than this mine, it's only three dollars and change, so mayonnaise with avocado oil is better if you're not going To achieve that, make sure you get expeller-pressed canola oil mayonnaise that doesn't have natural flavorings or any of the bad preservatives it contains.
I know this may not be Bobby approved, but rumor has it that when you take out the helmets you bring. bring out the best, okay, this brings us to the most sugar-laden sauces and condiments of all barbecue sauces, read the label and the nutritional information because this one is scary. My friends, a lot of you on Instagram asked me about Sweet Baby Rise, which by the way, if you're not following me on Flave City Instagram stories, go there and check it out because every night I'm doing stories of what I'm making for dinner and it's a lot of fun, but look at the sweet baby rays. the ingredients and look at the servings here guys two tablespoons of this has a whopping 16 grams of sugar think for a second 16 grams of sugar is over four teaspoons of refined white sugar here and high corn syrup Fructose, caramel coloring, a lot of bad things.
Here you definitely don't want to, this is very easy once again here at Target they have primary kitchen. This is Keto Hole 30 and paleo sugar-free barbecue sauce. It's fantastic. I know what you're thinking once again. What's happening with me? man g hughes, I brought this one from Walmart. I love to recommend it because the bottle is a good deal at Walmart. Modified corn starch made from genetically modified corn. I just can't get behind that and sucralose splenda, so luckily it's a big no-no. For you, once again, I have a keto barbecue sauce recipe from Flavo City.
I'll put it next. It keeps for three weeks in the refrigerator. It is absolutely delicious and only costs about three dollars 350, compared to this one thatIt costs about five dollars, so it's delicious, but. You really want to reduce or eliminate sugar when it comes to barbecue sauce because the grams of sugar are greatly exaggerated. Well, the taste is actually very difficult. I was surprised how difficult this one is. First of all, you should stay away. sweet seasoning right, it's loaded with sugar, we have a tablespoon of sweet seasoning it has three added grams of sugar, obviously stay away from these types of brands because they have high fructose corn syrup, yellow number five and blue number one, that is extremely wrong but you want to go to dill sauce dill sauce means it is unsweetened the problem is that every dill sauce I looked for on the market had the dreaded natural flavorings so it made it really difficult including even the organic sweet pickle dip not the dill but the organic one from Trader Joe's it had organic natural flavorings it doesn't matter the organic natural flavorings or the natural flavoring is still bad news the only one I found on the market that is really good is the naturally fermented bubbies and dill flavoring, it is a natural fermentation. meaning they don't use vinegar, so it promotes those probiotic bacteria that are super good for the gut.
Something similar to what I just saw here is kimchi. Kimchi is a super good natural fermentation for the probiotic bacteria in the gut, so I'll put that link below, it's the only one I can find; otherwise it was natural sweetener and flavoring from the city which was really disappointing. Well, I figure if we're going to throw some steaks at Barbie, we might as well talk about steak sauce, because what did she do? The archers say about A1, this is how you make steak, well that's not how you make steak at my house because we look at the ingredients, they use corn syrup and caramel coloring, this is the day guys, corn syrup with sugar, high fructose corn.
They put syrup on everything in the supermarket and we all know that sugar causes obesity and diabetes, but it is also very bad for the stomach, it kills the good bacteria in the stomach and promotes the bad bacteria, why does that matter? Keep talking about the stomach because the epicenter of your health begins and ends in the stomach. The probiotic bacteria in your stomach will actually lead to a lifetime of health. If you start killing them, you'll have other problems, so it's really important. The best thing for you is to have healthy gut bacteria, so I would leave that aside and again, Primal Kitchen makes a steak sauce here with super clean ingredients, no sweetener, whole wheat keto 30 paleo approved, so if you go to make steak, leave the a1 and make steak sauce. from Primal Kitchen okay that's it family art from Flavor City and I just shook up the condiment room like boss boss y'all we have some other cool ideas for summer coming up along with some other epic transportation ideas but we want know what they want. to see what's next I'm going to post a poll right here vote and let us know because they vote they decide we make the videos except when we get kicked out then no videos happen um all the information for this video is below. in the description box along with two other review videos streaming just below art night but art and I will see you soon until then the hashtag keeps cooking, mad love and peace.
