Clemson just RUINED THEIR SEASON

The college football

season

extended into Monday night, saving one of the craziest games of the entire weekend for the final weekend. Clemson went on the road to take on Duke and many people thought it would be an easy win for Clemson. The sportsbooks had this as a 14 point spread and not many people were giving Duke a chance, but if you watched my video last week talking about the top 10 games of the first week, you would have heard this, honestly, this might have been a tougher question in week one for the Tigers, even though Duke is on Reigns, don't let this team fool you, did you know the Blue Devils were a nine win team last year?

I feel like a lot of people didn't know that. Riley Leonard is back as

their

quarterback along with many other pieces. Clemson, from last year's team, is still the favorite to win the ACC and make the playoffs, but this is a very difficult matchup for them in week one, especially on the road. I think the Tigers should be under surveillance and I wouldn't be surprised. seeing them fall in

their

first game now I thought Duke was going to win outright? No, I thought they were going to be able to hang with Clemson and easily cover that 14-point gap, yeah, but I didn't see any scenario where dude. would defeat Clemson by not one, not two, but three scores before moving on to the rest of today's video.

I mean, I don't have the numbers or statistics in front of me right now, but I heard at the end of the broadcast some pretty interesting things. I think they said this is the first time they beat a ranked opponent in the first week. I'm not sure when they last beat a top 10 team at home, but I'm sure it wasn't any time recently. So this is a big win for the Duke Blue Devils, as I talked about in last week's video and I'll talk about today. The reason I wasn't too high on Clemson for this game was because Duke was a good team last season.

It was a team that won nine games and I thought they would be pretty good again this season not to mention they were at home and with it being a Monday game I felt like I would get that weird feeling that Riley Leonard was a quarterback that really emerged this season. pass. and he had a solid game for the Blue Devils tonight, he only threw for 175 yards and didn't have a touchdown pass, but he was the team's leading rusher, he had 100 yards with a score on

just

eight carries, he made the big plays when they needed them. needed.

What helped the most was that the Blue Devils got solid contributions from Jordan Waters and Jacquez, as they combined to rush for over 100 yards with two rushing touchdowns. It was actually the same second half when Duke pulled away and they outscored Clemson 22 to nothing, I mean. in the first half the Blue Devils didn't even have a single touchdown, now even though Duke played a very impressive game I will say this is more due to Clemson losing the game than Duke winning the game. I mean, Clemson had several opportunities, but they shot themselves in the foot every time, I mean, overall during the game, Clemson had three turnovers.

The earliest I knew things were going to go well for Clemson was in the first quarter when they had a 40-yard field goal that was blocked, the announcers were talking. about how this was the kicker's first collegiate game, so every time you hear it you know things are going to go wrong, it was like a 45-yard line, but he got a block and it was three points that were taken off the board for Clemson to advance quickly towards In the third quarter and another field goal was missed, he says it was blocked, but I didn't really see it and I think he

just

stabbed him.

Clemson was the first to score at the six-yard line and a touchdown would have given them the lead. but they actually ended up losing yards and had to settle for a 23 yard field goal and as I mentioned it says it was blocked but I actually think he missed it so there are two missed field goals for Clemson and the The game would have been tight at 13 at this point, but the worst moment of the game came on their next possession after a 60-yard drive in just six plays. Clemson had the ball at the seven yard line, but a fumble turned it over and really caused Clemson some points, I mean, even if they get a field goal there, they're only down by three and this is a completely different game, they forced Duke to punt and it was still a one score game and this is the absolute worst of the entire game.

For Clemson, they were able to go 50 yards in 10 plays and have the ball at the one-yard line. Seriously, you only get one yard and score a touchdown and take the lead, but you shoot film with the ball and Jalen Stinson scooped it up. and he returned it 55 yards. Now I'll give Cade Club Nick credit for this because he was able to chase it down and prevent the touchdown. I thought for sure he was going to score 99 yards, but in the end it didn't matter since Duke ended up scoring. a touchdown on that possession on Clemson's next possession they ended up having fourth and seven on their own 49 yard line Kate klubnick took off and ran but ended up sliding before the first down marker and although there was a decision to target because technically it gave Clemson handed her the ball to Duke and that pretty much ended the game for them, but it actually didn't because Clemson still got the ball back with six minutes left and they were still trailing by just two scorers, but a Kade Klubnick interception officially ended the game early to move on to the rest of this game.

They shot themselves in the foot and had multiple costly turnovers, but really on offense and I guess on defense there was nothing really encouraging that you can take away from this game.

I mean, Kate Club Nick honestly looked good, like he looked like a good quarterback. but he's not one Clem is going to need to go to the College Football Playoffs, talking about College Football Playoffs. I think we can officially cancel those odds for the Tigers. I mean, I'm sure they could go undefeated the rest of the way, but depending on how. see each other tonight, I definitely see another loss for them, so yeah, maybe it wasn't DJ uele's faults. By the way, I'm sure he's probably sitting there in Corvallis right now loving every second of this game, but yeah, it was a bad Clemson performance and I'm not sure where they go from here.

I talked about them this offseason and thought there was a chance they could be better than last season, but I personally wasn't as excited about them as a lot of other people mainly because I questioned Kate Club Nick and whether or not he could be that guy for Clemson again, it's only been a sample of one game this year, but I don't think it's that guy and outside of Will Shipley, I'm not really sure who Clemson has on offense that they can turn to. I know Duke scored a couple touchdowns late, so it looks a little worse than it is, but at least Clemson's defense showed up a little. big plays when it mattered most.

I don't think his defense is going to be a problem the rest of the way, but it's definitely not the dominant Clemson defense we've become accustomed to. Clemson is certainly going to fall in the standings and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season went for them. I mean, the next few weeks are going to be pretty easy, but I don't know, I won't actually sleep on the Florida Atlantic game in two weeks, but then they host Florida State and that will be their biggest game of the year, but they'll still have some interesting matchups. later in the season as they will face teams like Notre Dame, North Carolina, South Carolina and then heck even NC State Miami and Wake Forest could give them a chance.

They're a run for their money, so if Clemson isn't careful, this could turn out to be their worst season in quite some time. So what do you think about tonight's Clemson Duke game?
