Classroom Lighting Design TechniquesJun 17, 2021
good afternoon everyone this is milk again and our topic today is about educational facilities specifically for
designso i have an example here i should make this video because i just finished a project on
lighting, so here I have an example this is one of the typical college wide classrooms ok I'm just showing you how important it is to provide a good classroom environment for students so I'm showing you now a of lighting
techniqueswhere they can provide a very good lighting solution for a classroom so I use an up and down pendant light here so why I use this is because I want to have a light room that includes the ceiling so that the light bounces off the ceiling and then go back or mouse back to the table or the floor and it is also good because if you have a gloomy classroom the effect for the student is not s really good so its better to turn on a pulse also look at the ceiling and other than so you have to consider also glare because this comfortable student cant concentrate on his studies so we need to avoid glare and you can run a calculation for this dialogue. because right now we have a projector and a whiteboard so what i did is select three suspended props again but this one now is symmetrical it's a little bit symmetrical because i want to focus on the whiteboard if you can see here if you press the calculation object button and you put a compute surface on this if you want to know more how to do how I did this all you have to do is go to the compute surface and then for example I'm going to delete it now so delete it so just go and say the result of the surface, which is this, and then press the false color and value graph and you will have your result if you want to add the isilon you can also do that well and if you want to remove it again just go and remove it ok, so i'll continue to open it again and for example i want to do it in my table i can do that too so what i'm going to do is say result on the surface and then it will have a false collar or just the value and now i have it go when you go and check the pseudo color you will find that I have a nice Lux value result on each table ok I just focus on this one so high but this is only 600 max so it's good that those tables in between be high, that's fine, but for pie you can limit down if it's convenient, then you can control it individually and look at this rounding it's very good for students to learn and they will be. very lively and they won't be very sleepy during classes so it's important to have that apart from that day lighting calculation is also important in a classroom so if you go to lights go here press the light then go to the light scene you can create different light scenes for example I will create a new one in I like seams for the room space and then tag this I will delete this light scene 3 I will say this is daylight or daylight calculation and then I'll say yes I'll generate calculation and this light scene and then delete this one because I'm only focusing on daylight so I'll press this.
I will say, for example, clear sky. I want it maybe that same day, but I want it at what time I want it. I can change it to different times, like maybe three o'clock. yeah just push this top button up and down here and then you can change your time and then it says direct sunlight yeah of course I want to do that and now you'll see your life number two which is for daylight and then if you run the calculation you can check it so if i want to calculate now let's go and check and while we wait for the result to happen i would like to suggest you go and read the lighting guide it looks like lighting guide for education. this is lg5 so this is light ing guide where you can have everything about educational facilities especially classroom so im just showing you an example see this one has top and bottom too so this is a very gloomy look of course due to daylight only but it doesn't look good so if there is daylight on the other side you should have artificial light in the deepest part of the room or hall classes and other than that go and check out the right pamphlet on education and science so it also gives you some tips on lighting a classroom is a good read because most of the art most zoomable articles are based on real projects and the designers and architects we collaborate with on school projects or educational facility projects, so go ahead and check it out and you will learn a lot here not only for lighting design but also for emergency lighting. gency and daytime so let's check now it still doesn't work and yeah let's keep looking at this and we'll come back to that later ok so we're done with the daylight calculation see that looks good so let's turn this off I can see I have one seven one two eight four and we have 1400 oxen so let's see what it is It's amazing look at this you can see the daylight is towards this area. omg look at this it's too bright too much light in that part it's 15,000 Lux white color is 15,000 Lux and red is 19,000 Lux and orange orange is 1000 ok I think it's ok so apart from the artificial lighting calculation you can also run a daylighting calculation using the evil dialog so now what i did was say i turn artificial light off and only use or open daylight so if you want to create a new light scene where both daylight and artificial light are combined then you can do that too So you can create new lights here just press this one and then label it combined lighting solution or lighting calculation combined and then I bought these artificial and daylights but you can see here that the inner part or the deepest part of the room is just the dark part here I think you still have enough light that in your calculation you can create Earn a light scene where this row is the only one open or the only one lit during your calculation so you can create lights and for that and you need to set it up on your lighting control or on your touch mode panel for lighting control like so that's it and i hope you learned something from this little lesson on classroom lighting design if you want to learn more about lighting design for classroom or school please visit my youtube channel or on my website wwlp.com and for the online tutorial where you can pay a little go to udemy communication and check educational facility lighting design
techniquesok its not here yet. because I'm still preparing it.
I've only got three lectures here available but it'll work out soon so just stay tuned and thanks and see you again in the next tutorial bye.
