ChatGPT in Accounting. Part 2: Searching the web in your prompts

As a QuickBooks recommender, I often answer questions about different features in different versions of QuickBooks, so I'm using child GPT to see if I can come up with some answers that I can give my clients when they ask me questions. like hey, what is the difference between QuickBooks version x with version Y? Let's try it. I'm in normal normal GPT chat and I want to ask what are the differences between QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced so I'm just going to ask that question see what kind of information it gives me ok so I started typing for myself ok ok there he is typing he's giving me answers which is great i mean this i could put this in a blog post obviously after i checked the answers are right or wrong so i'll let it I'm done and I'll ask you something more pertinent like new features that came out in the last six months or so so we'll run into a bit of a problem where the GPT chat is out of date let me show you what are the latest features in Qbo advanced added in the past last six months, so something like that, look what he says, so now he's saying that to me. there's a deadline so it's late so it can't be newer than 2021 which is basically explained to me see I can't give you that answer however I found something interesting on the google chrome web store if you use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge you can download this thing called Web Chat GPT ok so I'm going to click um add to Chrome it's called Web Chat GPT and essentially what it does is it has this little bit of additional information in here to inform you. which is going to search for things on the web, okay, what the hell does that even mean?

So let's come back here and I'm going to ask the same question here, so I'm going to put, what's the latest? to put and better just uh a little fun here uh do QuickBooks uh let's write QuickBooks Online forward and I'm going to put last I'm going to put 12 months I'm just going to change it a little bit so it doesn't tick me that I'm asking the same question over and over time because chat with

videos and i like it when i keep asking the same question over and over again so i'm going to hit enter and with the web version of

chatgpt

i still get some errors about time but up here i get a new set of information called web search results so acha GPT will yes it will give you

your

answer whatever your answer is but also go in there and check a couple of websites and try to find information for you so it says look, here is an answer and here is the source.

I can copy and paste this and see what was right so it went into this

icular website and it summarized the information for me so it's pretty cool so like me. You're no longer stuck with information that's um that's there yeah that childish GPT is limited to looking for things on your web ok so that's really my quick tip uh uh to you in this case is add this web chat with gpt and just completely change the way that chat gpt leverages the web to give you answers too so if i didn't have an apt charge if i didn't have this um this uh this plugin then you'd get this response saying sorry you know, you know it can't really give you information that is after 2021 and you may see this video in the future and it may no longer be a limitation or there may be a time in the near future. we're getting closer and closer to today's date so anyway check out the web extension um it's pretty cool gpt web chat only but it's free.
