Jun 06, 2021
Guys welcome back it's Racer X and today I want to talk a little bit about the scat package. Yes there is our 2019 scat pack

challenger

with a shaker pack and now you know

what

I get a lot of questions about. You know, it's the The scat pack is

faster

than this car or it's

slower

than this car and you know

what

, so I decided I wanted to make a little video today about the cars that I feel the scat pack is

faster

and the cars that I feel like they can still do it. I beat the scat group and I'm trying to find things that are pretty good, good competition, obviously I'm not trying to compare it to a Porsche 918.

I'm also not trying to compare it to a 6 cylinder charger. something that's a legit matchup for this car should be a fun little video and I hope you enjoy it too if you're new to the channel make sure you hit the subscribe button down there here we go alright guys first thing I want to What you have to do is talk a little bit, of course, about the

challenger

's understanding that this particular car for a naturally aspirated car is pretty beefy, has a lot of torque and the car weighs about 40,250 pounds, which is probably more heavier than most other cars.

More Interesting Facts About,

challenger scatpack what is it faster slower than...

I'm going to talk about today, but that torque on that Hemi, you know, that makes up for a lot, so the matchup we're talking about today should be a lot of fun. 485 horsepower 475 pound-feet of torque from the factory and the car is a blast to drive, especially in track mode, how I like to drive it, so let's go ahead and see how it stacks up to the other cars in this little competition, this little comparison and you, tell me if you agree. I also want to make a quick mention that just to compare apples to apples, all of the cars we are talking about today will be automatic transmissions.

Hopefully most of these should be a pretty fair match for the scat package and I'll talk a bit. a little bit about the quarter mile eighth mile, things like that, maybe it even works a little bit in racing, but I just want to make sure everyone understands that we're talking about automatic transmission and the newest car that's available, so we'll talk basically from the stats of like nineteen, sorry, from 2019 to 2020, well guys, there's our first competitor as you're probably expecting it to be the 2020 Mustang GT and as we know these things can be really fast when modified , you probably just saw David Van Voorhis break the Mustang coyote stock block record at 826 which is just stupid, these cars are actually a lot lighter than a scat package you're looking at basically 3,700 pounds 460 horses of force 400 feet 420 excuse me pound-feet of torque in this car, but as I said there is a weight difference here and another great thing with this car is that it has a 10-speed transmission, so you may remember when I ran the 10 speeds in 2019 on the track.
challenger scatpack what is it faster slower than
In fact I want to show you that video okay guys 2019 Mustang GT we're racing now it should be fun oh it was a very close race very close I don't even know who won so we had identical trees and we couldn't have asked a better race guys, which in the end was a point zero zero five margin of victory, which I can't even tell you how small the victory was, but we didn't know who won in the end, a fantastic race and as you can see it was very, very close at the eighth mile I had.
I got ahead by several miles an hour in eighth and, in fact, I think he would have killed me at the top end if it were a quarter mile, but as it was, I caught him in eighth just barely and, without However, as we know, these Mustangs can be very, very fast and are actually a very good deal for about 35K. You can get a pretty well equipped Mustang GT and the premium one, so I'll go up there in the mid 40s, but guys , it's a great car for the price, this Mustang GT is a lot of fun to drive, it has different driving modes, things like that and I'll walk around the car a little bit so you guys can see it. a little better, but man, these things are truly a blast.
I mean, these things will really run at a hundred and I think they're running at eleven eight. I saw 1181 and about a hundred and 1819 miles per hour, so guys comparing this to the scat. If you're going to run a race that's basically going to be a driver's race, the torque from the scat package will get you out of the hole and give you a slight advantage coming out of the hole, but that mustang will catch up to you right at the eighth mile. and a quarter mile, guys, it'll probably pass you by if you run with a scat group, you'll race this thing on the quarter mile you come out of, even the Mustang will probably catch you, but you know what it's still a real fun comparison, both cars are fantastic and I hear you, move on to the next one, alright guys, here's the next one in our lineup, there it is, it's this Corvette c7 Stingray.
I love this car, it is a marvel, it has 455 horsepower, 460 feet of torque and you know the car is a beast, very fun to drive, it seems like it would be an even rival for the scat pack, it has 30 less horsepower Compared to the scat pack, but here's the killer, the car weighs around 3500 pounds depending on the trim. as we know the scat pack is significantly heavier, about 750 pounds, and that's the difference because the c7 corvette can run at 11 7 something like that at about one hundred and nineteen miles per hour, so the corvette is definitely pulling away in the big end of At the 8th mile track, I still have the Corvette, maybe a slight advantage, obviously the scat group will have the torque coming out of the hole, but they all start very light, so it should be a pretty race fun on the track. 8th mile in the quarter mile I don't give the scat pack much of a chance, stock for stock the c7 is really a beast guys you're talking about a car that really costs between sixty and seventy five thousand dollars from a Perspective of the tag depending on what trim level you get, but it's an absolutely fantastic ride, more expensive than the scat package by the 8th mile, like I said.
I think it's more of a driver's race, but I still give this a slight edge and in fourth. mile guys it has a lot more miles per hour so the c7 will win every time so move on to the next well there's the next one in the lineup guys it's the 2020 Camaro SS same essential engine in this car What they find in the Corvette c7 is that aluminum v8 thing that makes 455 horsepower for less than 50v torque and the cars weigh about 3,700 pounds, maybe just a little around the same weight as the Mustang and what makes this car fast guys, it has that 10 speed transmission, just like the Mustang, it's about the same weight as the Mustang, so once again we're looking at a big weight disadvantage for the Challenger, However, guys, remember that the Challenger has more torque and you might remember a really, really cool ride than the lady.
X had a 20-18 Camaro SS that had eight speeds, it was incredibly close. Actually, I'd like to show it to you. Okay guys, check it out. Twenty Camaro SS teen automatic 2019 scat pack Challenger Shaker also automatic and lady. . X should be fun so there you have it guys, it's on the 8th mile. I think it's really a driver's race. I really mean it. They say this car will run around 11:00, 9:00 to 1:15 on the high end. I think the Camaro has a slight advantage, it may not be as much as the Mustang but it will be pretty close so if you are in a scat group at the track you will probably have to ride one of these and if I am doing a race roll somewhere around 70.
I think you'll be fine, but once you really hit high gear, ten gear becomes a reality in the Camaro SS and it starts pulling away from the scatter group, so that's my assessment, guys. , is that the drivers are running 8th out of 4th, maybe a slight advantage here and in a swing race, once you get into the high triple digits this should move away due to the weight it has. the arrow and then of course the 10 speed transmission guys so move on to the next another car that I thought it would be a little fun to compare the scat pack to is actually a car that is in a completely different segment: the Porsche. 911 Carrera S now I know what you're thinking, yes it's a true traditional sports car, the scat includes a completely different muscle car segment, yes those things start at a hundred and fifteen thousand dollars, but when you look at it from a perspective of pure power, things change a little bit because basically what you have is a car that makes 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, so when you compare it that way, the scat pack is far superior, you're looking around 40 horsepower. and what's like 80 feet, my pound-feet of torque, I mean, it's a big difference, but you also know, here's a couple of things that Porsche has going, obviously, it's expensive for a reason, you've got a lot of German engineering. that goes into those cars and truth be told, guys, those Porsches are pretty nasty, so they actually punch way above their weight when you're talking about it from a super strong horsepower perspective, because here's the deal , those things will actually run like 11 3 at 125 miles per hour. so if you're in a scat group, please don't mess with a Porsche 911, they're actually pretty fast.
Look, horsepower numbers lie a bit, they're understated, you're talking about a 6 cylinder. turbo engine and my understanding is that those things are pretty close to what they're actually rated for behind the wheel, so those Porsches are actually very fast, they're great looking cars, they're fun to drive, but like I said, you're going to pay the minus 115 grand for one or more, depending on the options you choose, so my evaluation obviously compares to the scat package, obviously from a cost perspective, the all day scat package and then of course , but if you're going to run one on the eighth chance.
He'll probably take you to the room? He will walk by your side quite easily. 125 miles per hour is almost Hellcat territory when it comes to miles per hour on the big end, so I thought it was fun anyway because the horsepower is there, but obviously with the advanced transmission and some of the other things that Porsche is working on you know it's like night and day in terms of performance so anyway let's move on to the next one alright guys next on the comparison list is the new 20/ 20 Toyota Supra , now a fun little car, so this thing actually has a 3 liter twin turbo v6, it's actually rated at 335 horsepower, it's like 360 torque, but this is what this thing really does in the rear wheel when it says it does the steering wheel, so it's very, very underrated and you know, this thing weighs less than 3400 pounds, so initially, on paper, you would think that this would be no match for the package of excrement, but in fact I think I will discover that it is actually quite a lot. a good matchup for the scat pack now this is what they say run like a 12 3 at 113 miles per hour well the scat pack as we know can be about 11 9 12 or the same mile per hour so What that tells me is this car is getting pretty strong at the top end of the track, however, this is a car.
In fact I think the scat pack has an advantage if there is a big power advantage for the scat pack even though it is much heavier but the torque is there and I will say that this car actually has quite a bit of torque. They say it puts out like 380 pound-feet or foot-pounds of torque actually to the tire and it's not even rated for that, so it's pretty impressive in terms of you know what this is. The small car really does it, it's a small and light car, it's fun to drive with an 8 speed transmission. I still think the scat pack wins against the new Toyota Supra unless they are modified and then of course as we know if some of these turbo cars end up being monsters when modified so I have the advantage anyway from this gap package on this one to the next little Supra action right there, another car I want to make a quick mention of is the BMW m4.
I think it's actually a nice fun comparison to the scat pack now it's a more expensive car, we're looking at a car that basically costs between 70 and mid 80 depending on the SPAC and they actually have some really high specs that get into the six figures on that, but I want to talk about the regular base model m4, they're rated at 425 horsepower, it's like 406 lb-ft of torque, but here's the thing, that car is also very underrated from the factory, we're looking at a car that weighs maybe a little over 3,600 pounds and you know, it's got a pretty aggressive 7-speed transmission, so they say I've found a lot of different quarter mile times in that car, from really something like that. eleven six to twelve oh, but i have seen these things in person, so what i will tell you is that the m4 is very fast on the road,It's a three-liter twin-turbo straight-six and a very, very smart car, they're fantastic.
I drive cars and you know, I'm a fan of the M4. I will say that when you compare it to the scat pack, obviously, price-wise, it loses out when you're talking about the eighth mile. I really think it's more of a driver's race and this is a different car. which is a top end turbo car in a quarter mile. I think the auto has the advantage over the scat pack, both from an arrow perspective, if not from a power perspective, but they have pretty good power. close to scat packages, at least what i've seen now, i will say this: if you're trying to race him, he'll probably get you the m4s on the road.
I have seen it in person, they are very very fast, so if you have a scat pack I would recommend if you are going to run an m4 that you do it in the 8th mile where you can maintain the advantage with your torque so anyway that is my evaluation of the m4 or I'm going to another one well guys, now for the last car I want to compare the scat pack with this beast here that is only Cadillac ats-v and I tell you what I really like the look of this car: it actually has a six-cylinder compared to the CTSV which has an eight-cylinder engine, but you could get a twin-turbo six-cylinder which is good for 464 horsepower with about 445 pound-feet of torque and we have about 3,800 pounds in this car, guys so believe it or not they say this car can cover the quarter mile in about 12:1 so what that tells me is that this particular vehicle is actually a perfect match for the scat group and so it really is a driver's race with the 8 speed ats-v transmission in this car and a fantastic looking interior and i think you can start somewhere in the 70's. great range on these in the front for new ones and can go up to the mid-80s for a higher trim level, but the 80s are absolutely fantastic lifting a car, you run into one in your scat package, it's a driver's race that you've Don't let They try you, they will most likely beat you and of course, as we know, with turbo cars going down the pipes to a tune, these things really wake up.
I've seen some of these that are actually really fast, but I love the comparison to the ats. -v they are neck and neck as far as I'm concerned, the sky pack may have a slight lead in the 8th mile, but it really is very very close, almost too close to call, so I hope you guys enjoyed the review, Guys, that's all. I hope you liked the review of the Scat Pack Challenger versus all the other competitions out there and know that you guys may have completely different opinions based just on the numbers you've seen or your races.
I've seen anything else, but feel free to leave your comments and questions at the bottom. I really appreciate you tuning in until next time, Racer X.
