2020

in Las Vegas Nevada so we're gonna go see some old friends see what rumors solidified check out the overall tone in the industry for the year to come so let's go at the floor to a good fine all right one of the big players in the game

Nikon

had a bunch of releases this CES and I'm with Steve we're old buddies yeah and I had to drag you over here to tell me about this one of the Trinity lenses right this is 200 2.8 yeah first stabilized lens for the Z Mountain yeah absolutely in fact because we put stabilization optical stabilization in the lens and it works in conjunction with the Ibis in the body we get over five stops of ER that's the most we've ever gotten out of an interchangeable lens so it's it's amazing and of course all the attributes of Z exists in this lens big mount of course short flange back distance this does have minimized breathing for those who are shooting video that's important yeah and this also offers parfocal support oh really so people who are doing manual focusing manual zooming on our video to take advantage of this happen for our focal support so let's talk about a little bit of an elephant what's up with the size of the lens we're talking about internal zoom right yep everything's internal advantages speed okay handling okay of course your lens is not growing as you're as you're zooming of course keeps it all nice...

and tight we've also put in a bunch of function buttons two function buttons that can be assigned various functions inside the camera play that you guys are really there in forward with exactly keeps dust out of the camera to the internal zoom it does this is his best weather-sealed as we can possibly do on a lens alright so we got this one down we got the trifecta come in coming together Trinity of lenses but this what is this giant thing by me with this amazing gold plate yeah this is a brand new lens we made a special development announcement earlier in the year obviously the Olympics are coming this is going to be a huge sport lens the indoor venues in in Japan and Tokyo for the Olympics are this is where you're gonna see this lens really shine but what is it we have your Sun hundred and twenty millimeter to 300 millimeter 2.8 which is insane look at the front element on that yeah so it even is threaded too so you can put a filter on there if you need to it's that focus of stop buttons on the side for course all of the full complement of controls on the lens it's about seven little over seven pounds okay but it's all internal focus all internal zoom also I mean it's it's beautiful I mean the real thing about this lens is the range you get from 120 to 300 is great you get started for portraits of 120 still have that same lens go to the track and shoot some racing yeah I mean it's really good at this lab salutely that's lutely we've...

also incorporated a new SR element in here which works with re D elements to help ameliorate chromatic aberration right I've treated this one with nano crystal coat with our neo coat it's got the fluorine coating on the front element to help protect the weather so it's literally new glass it's it's amazing yes first time we've used it we use the same SR glass which is a sort sort wavelength refractive lens in this 70 to 200 as well as the 120 to 300 all right see if you guys have add so I did combo you pull you guys put out a powerhouse of glass here and you've had such a CES to keep here

Nikon

of where your findings everywhere we're looking forward to seeing the rest that's coming out this year from

Nikon

so good luck man thanks so much all right so we were walking out here but I got I had to grab you again the D 780 yeah which is the predecessor to the 750 was round for a while right good secondary camera from a wedding shooters still gonna be around because it'll offer a great value for somebody who wants to get a break on the price okay so 750 s will still be in the market but this is a huge leap ahead of the 750 this we just talked about this being based is these six of them ear in front of it it uses the same sensor so now when you switch over to live view it has 273 PDAs AF points okay right that's all the same options as e6 does face finding tracking I focus all of the same features that you would have on a z6o nice...

it'll do this will do 10 bit spa n log just like a c6 well but this will do a trick that Z 6 & 7 don't which is this has an HDR hlg or a hybrid log gamma really 10 bit output also to an animal soon very exciting you guys are killing it see us gradual ations Thank You Man so I'm here at the cannon booth with industry celebrity Rudy everybody around here knows just going on man before in a while we see each other on every video that we do for canning but we just released our David Bergman video with 1dx mark three huge release congratulations but I think what we didn't touch on a lot was the video yes so tell me some of the video specs you guys went hard hard on those video specs yeah this is a powerful digital SLR in terms of video specs and we really see it as a camera that could work nicely has a B camera for people shooting with cinema EOS or for still photographers who need a powerful set of video features to be able to add video to their repertoire 4k 60 full frame no crop that's correct then you got the choice when you do 4k of it being a DCI 4k which is cinema oriented or a UHD 4k which is more oriented to broadcast and the web you got the choice right in the camera menu up to 60 P and you got tremendous autofocus at 30 P and below as well alright cool so what's the top resolution video out of this you got 5.5 K raw capability for video in addition to the mp4 video that you can record in 4k or in Full HD alright very cool but this camera has...
Wi-Fi built into it but you also release this Wi-Fi module over here why tell me well we've had this concept of a separate Wi-Fi transmitter before what we've got is an updated version the WFT e 9 and in North America it's going to be the WFT e 9 and it'll vary depending on the region of the world you're in but in North America sta the purpose of this is high-end networking for professionals talking at major news events think of political conventions major sporting events where photographers need to be on high-end networks and have that kind of catch of connectivity now what's new with the 1d Mark 3 is that you also now have built-in Wi-Fi for conventional connectivity to smartphones and tablets and so on we didn't have that previously so it's very clean it's very important the customers be clear you don't need this accessory if you just simply want to connect to your tablet or your smartphone yeah that is there yeah this is for professional networking and for what it's worth for those applications they have really raised the bar in terms of what this can do the ease of getting on to professional networks and so on yeah I mean this is a pro cameras workhorse built like a tank superfast and meant for a speedy workflow for news and photojournalism to go great two-wire and we're about to go into the Olympics so super great timing for you guys right right I heard you're gonna be taking this to the Super Bowl as well I'm told...
that we will have a few of these units at the Super Bowl and the professionals will get a chance to see it and some of them may even get a chance to work with it all right cool thank you so much for the time congratulations what a monster all these for you guys oh thank you so it's been really great check it out thanks so much already good pleasures mine thank you all right so we couldn't come through CES

2020

without stopping by the

Panasonic

booth with the legendary Matt Fraser so you got these pocket camcorders packed with a ton of features a lot to do with live streaming can you run me through them really quick yeah well we first start by explaining what the differences are so if I take this handle off yep this is our that's a CX 1500 okay it won't have an SDI port if you put the handle on it which you'll be able to buy for the 1500 for like $2.99 okay put the handle on it it's now a CX mm okay and then include with it a USB to Ethernet port and the ability to record on micro p2 cards okay that's a CX 10 so they all look the same those are the differences between the three what's really cool about this camera I think the most important feature is how it does live streaming so you actually have RTMP protocol built into the camera you're actually a big deal so you're not sitting there fumbling with it forever exactly all you have to do is take your livestream URL from Facebook or YouTube or whatever you plug it into the you know just...
a line inside the camera and then you put any old password and you're ready you're done that's it make sure you connect to Wi-Fi spot connect to your smartphone and then just one touch you can program one of these user keys one push and I'm live streaming so it's a super simple livestream solution and since its art are NPT arts rtmp frankly it's gonna work on any streaming service or if you want to set up your own sort of server in the sky have this go there and then you can just bust it out to wherever you want it to go yeah because the live streams really become like the forefront of everything everybody's gonna go live and it's been more streamlined so to speak than ever before we stopped encoder boxes and go-betweens and cable to this the box to this to that right now it's right here straight through well and the nice thing is if you go to like the cx-10 right you also get ndia HX capability so you can start with the simplicity of our own life streaming functionality right I can use the Ethernet connection connected into my home network and I can use you know off-the-shelf you know OBS studio song it's just free and now I can have six cameras six seven cameras all switching at one time without even either by a switcher and then later on if we want to invest in switch I got st IL and now I can go ahead and build into these cameras so those are some of the cool things we're doing with it for live streamers but then we also have to...
worry about just video quality right just so you know that's that is not his brain and actually processing what I'm talking about right now that is a Harley Davidson all-electric wife livewire we're gonna it's going to be happy to insert b-roll of that here exact so image quality is also important to us as well so this camera has the gh 5 engineered so it can do 4k 60p it's got the foreigner mega man all I it's 10242 - it's all the goodness you'd expect from

Panasonic

for an image quality perspective and frankly 4k 60 unheard of in this category of product and it doesn't crop the 4k you're getting the full picture with it's a 25 times zoom of 24 times zoom so it's 25 millimeter to 600 millimeters so in this compacted chassis you're getting a long zoom it's got your built in neutral density filters it's got everything you'd expect in a camera like yeah taking broadcasting down to this big with a lot of powerhouse inside it so it's a it's the era of DIY production exactly and bringing those tools to an affordable price everything about

panasonic

has been about democratizing right when we did the gh series of GH one that was democratizing large sensor production right we at the gh forge it's five we're not democratizing 4k s one age we're democratizing production for Netflix now we're forgotten democratizing you know home cinema for her that's right home production for studio production...
oh we you guys have totally seen what people are going towards where these she's going in that you're you're totally giving the power to the people to actually do their own for broadcasting basically so we will keep an eye on this little company called

Panasonic

and we'll see where you get up hey maybe someday we'll get a little bit better thanks for everything man it's good time your buddy
