ing adventure, me and the

ing diehards are in Half Moon Bay. Today there is a three foot swell. I think there is no wind all day. Now it's like six miles or max or something like that. I'm all prepared. my three millimeter wetsuit on a three millimeter farmer Jon style vest has swim baits in it, that's the main thing I'm going to use as an artificial. I didn't bring squid or anything, or anchovies, but I did have these salmon roe that I caught. I was in Crescent City a couple of weeks ago and I've never been on the ocean kayaking except a little bit to the south that time and a lot of people were complaining about the safety issues and all the safety equipment they didn't have.

Well, today I'm a little more prepared. I have the wetsuit in case I tip over, but I never go out here unless it's super super calm because I'm not that comfortable in the water, which is probably the next thing I'll do. I'm going to get a dry suit, but for now I'm just going to pick the extremely low swell days, extremely low wind days and not venture too far out and look at this boat right here, dude, how much do you think a pair costs? million maybe two this is cute shoot probably sleeping there right now yeah that's really cute all those guys out there they all live on their boats okay let's go to the ocean we see a couple of kayakers out there so we're I'm going to leave drop a pot of crap here somewhere and then go to the right side and that's where it should get a little shallow and rocky, maybe there's some reef out there and yeah, drop my swimbait, drop some roe Salmon, we're fine, we're going to die hard. he walked out and dropped the crab pot from him.

More Interesting Facts About,

I had to take off my sweater because it was too hot out here, so that's where he's like a mile away from me right now. I'm alone here in the middle of the ocean and no one around me, but I see the buoys out there. I don't know if you can see them on the GoPro, but there is a green buoy and a red buoy. I'm going to go there myself and meet the hardliners later, I don't see any. The bait jumps though, so I think it'll all be swim baits and salmon eggs, look at those salmon eggs, oh there's a bait right there on another bird, bird shit in the water, okay, almost to the buoy okay guys I've been here for about 20 minutes I just see a big bed of seaweed right here.

I could throw in some salmon eggs and I don't have a fish finder but I do have some technology, my phone and I have satellite images on Google so if I look on Google I don't know if you can see it from the GoPro but it shows the reef in satellite view, so my plan is to just paddle over that reef. I know there's structure there so I'm going to spread out and hope there's fish but there's algae around me right here so I'm going to tie up some salmon eggs and I'm just going to float over this algae and see what happens if there are any fish. hanging.

I don't feel like there will be any. ling cod here I could be wrong but I think it's more likely to be a species of rockfish so I think a rockfish is more likely to bite these salmon eggs than a swimbait my leader with a knot of egg. and this egg loop knot that you push after you tie it, you can push the guide material through there so it forms a loop and you put your eggs through that loop and then you just tighten the loop and that's why they call it a loop of egg, not anything around it should bite that will actually allow me to do that whole row in the knot in that loop.
I'm going to do maybe two or three drifts right over this kelp and then paddle out to the reef on Google Maps, so if I was a fish and I saw salmon eggs. I would buy them. There's a structure down there. It's hard to be sure it's not sand. I think this whole structure is where all this algae grows from. I feel like I'm in a movie. Right now I feel like this is a good drift, although it's like right over the kelp, right over this structure, right over the rocks, dude, how can there be no fish right now?
There are no bites in this row. I've been like this for ten minutes, not a single tip. What I got from the last kayak video I did was that you don't necessarily want to hold your rod this way because if you get a big fish and your brake is tight you may just turn around, which is why people were suggesting keeping your rod in. in front of you, which makes sense, okay, I'm going to continue towards that nice reef, what is that? Oh yeah, on the swim bait, swim bait, nice, okay guys, there's a

huge

reef that stretches for miles, it looks like it's right below us, right? under me right now and here it comes so strong let's get some right now keep the cameras rolling so we don't miss another one.
I'm pretty sure I missed a big ling struggling to turn on the cameras and all that didn't make it. I didn't set the hook hard enough, but this is the spot right here. I'm going to call him right now. There are fish. Oh, I lost it again. Damn, oh my god, how the hell did that happen? It probably wasn't a monster, but. You know, I felt good on the tail, everyone's hitting the tail, my second fish got lost there, yeah, finally, hey, it's back, oh, that's a good one, that's probably a good one. Ling is pretty sure he's a guardian, whatever it is, I think he had one too. just a lot of the previous cast that's a big cab that's right yeah, that's a nice cab right there oh, that's okay, okay, let's measure it.
I see how long it's 19 inches. It's so cool that the

blue

swimsuits are all shabby, we'll wear this one. until it falls apart though just find the bottom and yes just reel it in making sure not to drag the bottom but just a slow retrieve right at the bottom stopping every now and then touching bottom again. I'm doing it all again, there's another one, oh. there's a good one, I don't know if this is another cab or a ling or whatever we see, good size, definitely not a heavy rockfish though, they've got some weight on them, oh man, good size fish, whatever whatever, man, damn, these arms are getting. tired, damn another taxi Oh, run, jeez, another taxi still has his twin spitting out a squid another again the same damn thing what's been eating an octopus yes, his twin is an identical twin yes, this one is bigger I can probably lay a lot of eggs, so she's going to release this big one, keep the one I killed, we'll have that one for lunch, yeah, this is good, look at these two pretty identical ones, okay, before drop this one, let's measure this one, look how big.
This one is, I think the other one was 19 or 20, this one is 20 20 and a half, I probably don't know four pounds, maybe honestly, but let her live another day and the swimbait is broken now, so you keep 10 fish. of rock a day for lingcod and three cabs, but I have enough fish in my refrigerator and this Cabazon is enough for Adam and I for sure and we will probably have leftovers, both very nice and

blue

, look at that blue mouth inside this meat is blue but once you

cook

it it turns white, it doesn't have scales either, really cool fish, this is the little fish, I think I have one that feels a little heavy, I think so, oh yeah, I see a link that's all Which I thought I had, okay though.
Guys, I'm going to come back right now, I've got this nice taxi between my legs, put the other one down, I mean Adam, let's

cook

these taxis on the shore, he has a YouTube channel called Diehard Fishing and I don't know. how he has less than 2000 subscribers right now seriously like he had a video where he went out alone and caught a salmon in a kayak he didn't even have a net and he landed it just by touching it with his hand like I got some stuff crazy on his channel, so fish die hard, check out his channel spread, that love, you know, tips and tricks, if you like those, you know it's a good source to get that information, so I'm going back right now and starting We're going to feel a little dizzy and we're going to cook that fish and get some food in our stomachs and it'll make me feel better at least so Adam just arrived right now.
I've been back on shore for a while while he comes and fixes his kayak, let me show you this Cabazon and let me gut it and clean it for you, so look how blue this meat is. You don't see a turquoise blue like this normally now, when I say normally, I just mean, in other types of fish, I mean, it's pretty common in these Cabazon and lingcod, but in other types of fish you don't see that bright blue pattern very often and the entire fish has that color inside and out, the organs and everything that it is. like such a bright blue, it's almost like bubblegum or something, so these have these Cabazon, they have these spines right here, they really camouflage themselves, they're hard to see with that right here, they're really hard if this was to be placed on the sun and all the skin and everything would deteriorate what would be left are these sharp spines right here and there's poison inside those spines if you get pricked while handling this fish you can get your whole arm to start feeling numb.
I honestly forgot what the proper way to treat it is. You put it in very hot water or very cold water. I think it's very hot water and you do it over and over again to cleanse your skin. I'm not 100%. Sure, don't take my word for it anyway, we're not here to talk about that poison, we're here to cut this finish off and eat it. The nice thing about these Cabazon is that they don't have scales, so when me and Adam cook them. I want to leave the skin on, but I'll mark it, so when I put it in that butter or however we cook it, it won't roll up, it'll just roll up in that little bit that's marked.
You don't need to worry about any of that poison when you eat it too, it's just in the head, only if you get pricked when you handle it, that's the only time you'll be exposed to it, you'll feel the thorns. Right here they run right here, you can even see them peeking out there, just cut there, cut to the head, look at that meat, look how blue that meat is, look everything is blue, including the stomach, which is here, let's fillet it first and then we'll take a look at the inside once you get to the tail, it's pretty flat, the spine in the center doesn't stick out too much so you can cut straight across, come out the back and then I want to keep a little bit of Press the fish against the bones to peel it with your left hand if you are right-handed and then use that knife and run it through the meat.
You know, I don't mind taking my time. on the fillets I don't know why everyone makes such a big deal about it so this was a female these are the eggs but and that's the reason I let the other one go the other one was also blue and most likely a female and most likely had even more eggs than these. The thing about Cabazon eggs is that they are poisonous for human consumption, so you don't want to eat Cabazon eggs now, real quick, let's take a look at what's inside the stomach, inside its stomach, should I say ?
I bet there's a crab in here, actually, at first you should probably let me finish filleting it first. Hey guys, that's two of the bright blue meat works once you cook it, although it will turn white. We already saw that an octopus spit out. out there see if it has anything else in its stomach, normally they eat crabs and some very small seaweed and there you see the remains of a small crab, you see its claw right there, little rock crab. I know a lot of people who go on these. On the charter boats they will ask for all the carcasses when the fillets are ready so they can take them home and make soups, but since we are here, I will give it back to mother nature and let the crabs and the other fish feed on this, how did you make the crabs?
I'm not going to take his crab, no it's not that big, it's a good rock fish, so Adams will clean his fish, cook it, hook it here, it's going to make some char, so I. I'm going to get ready and we'll light some coals and eat two different types of fish. I don't know if he'll cook the rockfish or the cab. Soon we will discover a spider crab. Yeah, I'm just hungry. hungry just butter salt pepper dough communication here
