catamaran

. Yeah, you basically have like a back porch. Here we call it the front porch and it is. very well shaded many of the modern molds are exactly like that, mud holes, you often have a cabin, you will put some shade in it, but you just don't have the shade space, it's our sunscreen, people ask, oh you should go through a lot of things. No sunscreen, we just stay in the shade, that's right, you stay cooler too. Pets Allowed. It goes to the

catamaran

, which is why we ended up on a catamaran. Sugar really helped us make that decision because that was a deciding factor for her.

The model, yes, as she got bigger and bigger, at first she was comfortable on the monkey course, then she would just crouch in the corner. We have friends who have large dogs. Monohulls are doable but it is much easier, yes, and this is just our opinion, and the next one is yes, yes, this is another of the main reasons we went on a catamaran. We had had guests in our mana rooms and even in the 46. footer which was quite large, it was very difficult to get private space just to get to an area where it is quiet, one couple can chat while the other is not disturbed, obviously with the two holes and in this case four bedrooms, everyone has a private corner. that's cool and the noise, yeah well in a mana hole you're more or less living in the water, that can actually be a cool thing.

More Interesting Facts About,

catamaran vs monohull a comprehensive review from owners of both...

I remember when we first came to Southern California and we were docked and it was quiet and we heard everything. All this dripping and rustling and all these sounds and we think what's going on, what we've never heard before, of course, that's all the sea life that you hear in the water around you. I remember one time in Alaska we were on a charter boat there on a

monohull

sailboat and we looked out our little window and there was like a sea lion sleeping right next to the boat and it was the coolest thing, a mana hole you're living in in the water that is noisier On a catamaran, you live above the water for the most part, yes, so depending on if you like that type of noise, that can be a positive in a model for us.

We like cats, they are quieter and the last one to go to the catamaran. It's exercising, something we should do more of, but it's very difficult to exercise in a

monohull

. We had good friends in Mexico where they had like a stair climber in their mana room and a Richard who was there every other day working his butt off, but it's hard with limited space, yeah, so we have a great space to work out in the bow, we have the TRX band, so we will go out and tone the muscles a little bit and strengthen the exercise, but yes, just having more space is good to exercise, so another category that the catamaran takes is habitability clear winner in the category of livability this is the final category and it's called nuts and bolts this is kind of a general category yeah it's kind of like general first one is aesthetics well the winner we think is the mana hole we don't want to step on any toe here we like the look of our leopard 46.

I think it is a beautiful boat. I don't want to single out anyone, but I do believe. that there are a lot of less aesthetically pleasing catamarans, I don't want to say ugly, but there are a lot of catamarans that are really tall, bulbous and boxy looking and I think overall I like the very low look of the Mana Hall. Elegant nautical look, so I have to beat this one for monohulls in terms of aesthetics. Well, the next category is ventilation, ventilation and that goes for the catamaran. Yes, we have how many opening ports on this ship.
One Two Three Four Five. six seven eight if you count the bathrooms you have 12 ports that open on this boat in our monohulls it's always been just the ladder and like two overhead hatches and that's it the ventilation on a catamaran is much better yeah ah, next is solar energy. The solar capacity goes to the catamaran. It's real estate in the Solar game and of course when you get it, it's 25 feet wide and has a big roof and overhangs that you can put a lot of solar power on. We should have it. About 1,800 watts of solar power by the time we're done with this next monohull conversion, it's hard to squeeze out more than seven or eight hundred watts and that will cover your entire Bimini and we had it on the side. panels, you will stick them everywhere, yes, okay, next is the engine access that goes to the catamarans, yes, we have separate engine closures, the engines are outboard of the living spaces and that reduces fumes, but it's also much easier. to get to different parts of the engines on our other boats.
I will tell you that yoga on the ship was even worse in the mana rooms trying to get behind the engine or to the side that didn't have the access panel. It's much better. a cat in general good here is one that the monohulls take is cleaning so it is all that space that the solar gives you and the space to train I will tell you that it is much more fiberglass to clean 46 foot Munhall this boat is a 46 leopard 46 foot Munhall a couple of hours to get everything right to clean this boat it's a one day process to get it right polish wax that's going to be a lot more expensive on a boat this size just because you have a lot more surface area Yes we'll do the cleaning to the model, yes, all the cleaning goes for the catamarans.
You have more holes to clean on a catamaran. You have two holes, but it's actually easier to clean because the shallower draft means you don't get submerged. As long as you have scuba gear, this doesn't matter at all, but in general I would say that cleaning the holes of a cat is easier than cleaning the deepest hole of a single hole and the final issue is organization, which I think goes to the catamaran yeah I think that's a pretty easy call here it's really hard to stay organized on boats in general you have all these spare parts you have supplies you have your clothes you have camera equipment I have dog stuff and it's really really hard to organize your stuff On any boat in a mana room where all the storage is crammed back and below and on the sides you have quite a few less opening ports, so staying organized on a model is much more difficult on a catamaran, all that storage can be a problem because you have space for it, you can put it on board, it's quite easy to overload, yes cat, yes, we still have to check and throw away a lot of things. a lot of things about clarity, so obviously we've given you a lot to consider.
I don't want to make it sound like a catamaran is definitely better than a mana, it just depends on what you're going to do with it. I think that if you were to sail only a couple of months a year and had a boat in storage, there could really be an argument to be made for going with a mana house, maybe you would live on land most of the time and wouldn't need all that space. You don't have to have all those accessories to live aboard and you're not going to pay for all the extra docking, all the extra transportation fees and initial boat costs;
However, if you are going to work full time and can afford it, I think overall the catamaran is a clear winner after the miles we have logged in the mana rooms and the miles that were logged on this cat. I wouldn't change living aboard a catamaran for a monohull or anything like that, yes, I think. That's a good point when we talk about living full time. I would safely say that a catamaran we would ever have a mana hole to live in part time. Yes, absolutely, in fact I suspect when we are done living full time. this cat and we go back to land part-time, full-time, we are absolutely going to have other mana holes, in fact, for sailing during the day, I would prefer a mana hole, I like to lean a little, I just don't want to live anymore. a ship that heals 24/7 while you're underway, yeah yeah, so I think it depends on what you plan to do with it, how badly you want to get out there if you can't wait and you're talking about three, five years in advance.
On the road, I say, you might want to get a monohull, even if it's cheap, that you can do on the weekends or during your vacation. I think our YouTube channel and maybe other YouTube channels could make it seem like you just have to do it. I have a catamaran so I can sail and I just don't think that's the case, yes, we don't agree with that, yes, if it's a choice between going now with a mana hole that you can afford or waiting 10 years or even five years . To do it on a catamaran, I say because of the affordable mana hole.
Now go try life. You can always change it and go to a cat later if you really like it.
