Can you beat Pokemon Platinum Without Taking Damage?

Feb 27, 2020
Pokémon Platinum came out in 2008. I played a lot as a kid. Gen 4 is probably the game I put the most hours into. I wanted to play it again recently out of nostalgia, you know, but it's Pokemon you played once. There aren't many reasons to play again, so I made it a little more interesting. I try to

beat

Pokémon Platinum without

taking

any

damage

to my Pokémon. my first roll

pokemon

i chose piplup it starts with pound instead of tackle which is great because it's 100 percent accurate instead of the 95 percent accurate that tackle is this generation so man wanted to fight, just keep using withdraw please ok yeah he took

damage

he had to reset to not take damage fighting mr. twig needs to retreat six times in a row and then there are two tackles that prevent Piplup, the chance of this happening is around 0.004%, so I went into battle over and over again for half an hour until I got right with Piplup at the less I gave it some more thought and it turned out that Turtwig was the right choice to fight Chimchar.

He knows to leer instead of retreating, since it's not an attacking move. This means that he won't make our attacks weaker every turn. four times in a row which is a 1 in 16 odds much better odds and on the third try with turtwig i got lucky and it happened no damage battle rival read again yeah we finished we did it after 40 minutes i was finally able to progress talk to rowan nicknamed turtwig get some pokeballs and then we can have some fun i can go straight to the next route fight the first trainer who has star lee with fast attack huh ok it's time to start troubleshooting what can what you do for not getting hit by a star lee who has a move that will always hit before you well Turtwig literally can't learn any priority moves I had to catch my own star lee that's how we're going to do it's bullshit growl thanks you crawl , yes, first to the right.

More Interesting Facts About,

can you beat pokemon platinum without taking damage...

I got lucky and caught it on the first try, then accidentally pushed the power button and had to do it all over again, which took a daylight hour anyway with Starly at the party. I had to train him until he could one. Hits the opponent's thali with his own quick attack. The ko quick attack is guaranteed once Starly evolves and reaches level 19, so I had to do some grinding. for also a ko hit for each wild

pokemon

unfortunately the only attack moves Turtwig and Starly know are tackles and if I use them there is a 5% chance they will miss every time I get to level 19 with star lee.

I'll be using enough tackles that I'm essentially guaranteed. I had to miss at least once, so I needed to find an alternative to training against Bidoof's wild arena star Lee. The solution is found at night. Turns out this route has a minor Creek etat infestation. at this level the little musical bugs only have bide and grunt bide takes two turns to deal damage so as long as my pokemon can

beat

cricket odds in two turns we're fine to grind but of course star lee He can not do it. two turns but turtwig can so i had to train turtwig until he could shoot the cricket points with one shot then i was able to switch lee the train star until he could fight them during this chat and i decided the Full rules for the challenge. we decided that after each badge you could save and if you took damage you could reset the game to the previous chip.

We feel like this stays true to the challenge because it's really about strategizing how to progress instead of wasting it. my life away doing g playing pointless for hours but as you will see i still wasted a huge amount of time oh and one other thing because of the pointless game i sped up the game because then again im not trying to waste my life fighting against cricket odds for 30 hours after wiping out the entire population of cricketers, my star lee evolved and grew to level 19. I was ready for the first battle. I completely stomped on young Tristan with a quick attack and was able to progress.
It took me 9 hours into the game to defeat the first trainer. This will be. a long one plus waving a lane I had to train Turtwig up to level 25 on this lane to evolve and learn mega drain it's the first grass move something good with one hundred percent accuracy this took an extra nine in game within hours of here i was able to go up to jubilife i smashed the man with staravia and ran to arbor uh and accidentally ran into this trainer yeah oh my god ah that quick attack had a 1/5 chance of no kale btw i really couldn't a allowed myself to commit more bugs like that with that done.
I carefully navigated the route and the cave to enter or storm the city and fight the first gym. I did the math and my level 25 brothel should barely be able to take out Roark with mega drains. ooh bad baby oak oh well one hit ko this is the one this is the hard oak oh yeah oh thank god ok that's how the first gym was made I made my first save point and was ready to move to the flat over town this was where i made the discovery that made this challenge so much more difficult team battles in these battles you are forced to team up with someone else and the people you are associated with kind of suck the first required team battle is with dawn against two galactic grunts these grunts have a glam flow and a chop key the glam owl knows how to fake the only option is to attack fast to get past the glam flow since priority moves in this game have the same level of priority so i hope the chop key doesn't hit me no It doesn't matter what I do it's essentially a 50/50 chance of getting hit so I quickly attack the glam scream which I miscalculated and didn't even remove it , but the glam flow and the chopped key attacked the Piplup, allowing me to finish this battle first. try after that battle it was clear my pokemon needed to be stronger so I trained the Gras tool up to level 32 so it evolved and learned earthquake then flowed around town valley wind was next and inside was commander Marce his ace is level 17 by ugly he has faked to out speed and hit ko the / ugly with a fast attack Meister Avia needed to evolve and then get to level 40 I only had the first badge I fought pokemon level 10 savages until i took damage because i am dumb and that team battle i first tried earlier took three tries to get through again and then it was granted for another two and a half hours until the Raptor finally got to level 40 and i was able to defeating a poor ugly from level 17 after saving value in works i was able to move p to turn a forest and oh god it's more team battles in the forest you were forced to team up with Sheryl the first aterna forest required battle is against Jack and Briana Briana has a Pachirisu with fast attack so I went in hoping for the best and got beat up so I went back to the first gym did three hours hard work this time catching him Bidoof for HMS and finding a sick weasel, put him out of his misery, of course, then tried the fight. again okö straight shot come on yeah ok ok we are finally ok now and i made it.
I got through the first Forest Battle required keyword first thankfully though the other battles I was able to force them into single battles so they weren't a problem and I was able to leave out Sheryl's plague mother city is Jim weed location and because he had a level 40 stir after i completely blew him away with a ring attack the second badge was mine after a 33 and a half hours of gameplay not including the time i spent on resets by the way after Jim I came back and got AB weasel for later 75 percent chance please 103 big legs cleared the galactic base easily, grabbed a bike and scout kit.
I cautiously traveled to Hardhome with a few without incident. battles along the way the next big hurdle was identified as fan Tina, the lead fan of the ghost gym, Tina has a dust skull with a priority move, then a hunter with Sucker Punch, also a priority move, that ass target it was easy to handle because the shadow poacher couldn't hit my lord after the hunter was trouble. Sucker Punch was able to hit Meister Raptor and fast attack couldn't hit the hunter so in order to beat the Haunter I needed to train my guys to level 45 so it evolved and had the stats to take down the hunter with a single water check.
The final pokemon Miss majus was a mere crunch and the 3rd badge was mine after 46 hours in game with the 3rd badge in the bag. This was where the challenge changed. Grip. an Eevee gift but the man who gave me some amazing advice make sure all your attacks hit avoid all enemy attacks that's the strategy that's all you have to do and I walked Selassie into town, Confident as ever, so stylish in town has the Pokémon daycare, the daycare is. which turned this challenge from a boring mess into a fun puzzle if you deposit pokemon in the daycare every step you take your pokemon games an experience point so all you had to do to get level 100 pokemon was push it in the kindergarten and biking up and down over and over until I rode about 1 million tokens and that's what I did.
I threw Stir After and Flotzel to daycare and off stream I cycled up and down for 30 hours in game or about 8 hours at the next gear. stream I was ready to crush this game or so I thought I picked up my insanely powerful level 100 pokemon I swept route 215 until I ran into a very unexpected problem ace trainer Dennis was an inevitable trainer wet a drifblim drifb lim has the ability after math we are in the turn the pokemon is defeated if the opponent pokemon made contact take damage this was a problem my two level 100 only had moves that made contact we ran through the game and strategized to the best of our ability and the best solution to the problem barring extra hours and hours of grinding was shaking it and teaching floatzel on gen 4 rock only about 80% accurate it was a one in five chance of me getting damaged one in five probably have to spend eight more hours of my life going up and down by bike.
Here is the battle. No No. Why just one closer to 69, baby? I just tried the rock tomb strategy again yeah oh it doesn't happen twice come on so that was a fun way to waste eight hours with that whole fight. I moved on to the fourth gym, slept through it all easily, and saved the game for 73 hours. next i was doing a quick b i fought some galactic soldiers with dawn the soldiers opened with two zubats so i cant quake them with war terra. I was a bit reckless here because I had just finished a gym, so I decided to try my luck

taking

them on without any strategy.
I had to reboot several times until it was nice, this was the moment I chatted and decided to never make a single mistake again so he came up with a foolproof plan to defeat the zubats. I walked to the town of pastorius. I went to the move reminder and taught floatzel. Swift, which affects both Pokemon and double battles with this excellent idea. I was able to defeat the grunts without having to rely on good luck. The fifth gym was next and it was easy. jet and air ace the Quagsire five badges minus three to go before 6th gym Had to run some errands like deliver the old amulet to Cynthia's grandma in Celeste City Traveled through the foggy area on route 210 and an accident I went into a battle of course I had also forgotten to defog so I was going into battle with a 40% chance to miss each attack.
The fast attack that hit next was a Luxio that I was able to take out with an air ace. The final Pokemon was the worst case scenario. A pro arc pass from both Swift and the aerial ace would not take him out in one hit. miss no no ah well that was lucky the rest of the route i got smart and used e-fog to make me stress free i destroyed syrus in the snag surf ruins and headed to the ab city panel the man was waiting for me like this that i Aquajet the store after and Infernape area narrow rosary laces cross and fast attack the floatzel ez before the gym i made a visit to iron island to see riley to get the HM for strength you have to talk to riley the thing is all iron island the battles are feared team battles thankfully though riley just strengthens th hand for you right at the start and waits for you inside so i ditched him and went straight back to the cadillac to go to the gym the gym was pretty straight forward i needed to pick up some water mystique on Pastore just to secure a water jet KO to the ass is or that new fast attack other than that though it was a clean surface sweep for the sixth badge Team Galacti how it startedto cause such chaos so I went to Lake Valor to clean things up there and then as Verity because Dawn couldn't handle it on her own and she was pointing snow to the sharpness of the lake where it's hailing but that's okay because she had a way to deal with it, remember the Eevee I picked up by barely walking in the hail on route 217 and using a rare candy on Eevee, it evolved into Glaceon, an immune Pokemon. to hail effects but it was still weak and doesn't learn any good ice type moves so I threw it and Torterra into the nursery to make them strong the only powerful move in sight with 100% accuracy in this Jen it's ice ray to acquire ice ray and you have to spend ten thousand game corner coins ten thousand game corner coins cost two hundred thousand poker dollars and i was completely broke after spending all my money on daycare So I came up with a get-rich-quick scheme combination that involved her all luck in the sense of walking up to some snobbish rich kid and hitting him repeatedly with the first finder until all of his parents' wealth is safe in my pocket and then spent it all on a single TM with that done it was just a matter of running back and forth for another eight hours once Glaceon int or taro were at level 100 I was done to face the blizzard Talked to Glaceon ice beam and Shadow Ball and went to the move reminder to get ice shard Battles to route 217 were easy Shared the Pokemon with priority moves Shadow Ball the ice and lightning resistant Pokemon of ice the rest snow point City Gym was not that easy the first problem was the puzzle itself some of the trainers in the gym have snow burrs, then Sneezles snow burrs set up hale with the snow warning ability and in Gen 4 weather effects last indefinitely then Sneasel has a fast attack which forces my Glaceon to stay and use a priority move the thing with this is that ice shard or a fast attack both don't do enough to KO Sneasel as well that I needed to find a way through the gym avoiding all the trainers so I wouldn't risk getting into one of these Snover Sneasel fights, it took a while, but after looking at a map o f the gym for almost 15 minutes Chad and I were able to find a route bypassing all the trainers in the gym while solving the puzzle of course that wasn't the only difficulty in the gym we still had Candice Candice opens with the Sneasel which was simple as it wasn't hailing yet we were able to get past its fast attack with Aquajet for the knockout blow but Pokemon 2 is where things get more complicated if Candice sends out Abomasnow then starts hailing with warning of snow.
Abomasnow itself can be easily removed with lacy ons ice beam and the piloswine that follows it, but the reason hail is a problem is because hard frost and its snow cloak ability snow cloak and hail cause moves to miss a bit. fifth of the time to guarantee the ko. I need to move on. Glaceon that never misses and as you can clearly see Glaceon doesn't have one of those moves that doesn't miss right except it does the hail here which causes the accuracy issue it also solves that as it turns out to be a blizzard but I pass the spell check precision.
As he yelled I was able to go Blizzard with 100% confidence and took out the frost girl and got caught by the 7th badge. I was faced with the question of the sharpness of the lake, and then I eliminated the galactic headquarters. I got the master ball from Syrus along the way and headed for the spear. pillar to the end of the world oh you thought i was talking about the whole portal thing no its another team battle but really even though this one was surprisingly easy none of the opposing pokemon dont have priority moves so which floatzel was able to sail instantly drowning out everything on the field I jumped into another dimension real quick and caught Giratina with the master ball.
She wasn't as strong as she needed to be, so I rode my bike for two hours until she got to level 66. I also beat up rich kids. again for money for some stat boosting items and some equipment which i will explain later then i was able to move through route 222 only fighting a single trainer with a level 100 ikurou wingull should absolutely smash with antenna Aces yea no , which i forgot had a fast attack so i reset and got it all back when i got back to wingull. I have remembered the fast attack this time, now to the final Jim, the opposing pokemon are now getting to the levels where the battle must be meticulously planned fast attack the Jolteon went to Raptor to surpass the speed of his own fast attack earth power the shoe ride with Giratina surf the luxray with floatzel and with a silk scarf in sir raptor rapid fire attack elect to get the eighth badge from here it was a quick work through Victory Road and a simple rival battle before the Elite Four Le gauntlet I taught my team a major level of TMS going up to Giratina one last time to restore balance and I didn't back down now the beginning of the air in the battle was simple air ace is yanmega earthquake the drapion air ace the vespiquen and the air ace the hair a through scissor though it was a problem since our new fast attack and had enough defense where my own fast attack ack or Aquajet couldn't take it out,n or there were priority moves that could defeat him in one shot, so my solution was Giratina, which was not affected by fast attack, the problem with Giratina was that it was only level 69 and level 69 Giratina normally couldn't defeat us is or in a single hit, well not without the natural gift, the natural gift is a move that changes its type and damage based on the berry your pokemon has, give Giratina a water berry and the natural gift turns into a fire type of power 60 move so i did exactly that and incinerated the scizor winning the first battle bertha was next but with Torterra the battle was simple kika trained everything except Gliscor where you use ice beam with Glaceon Flint was another simple surf the houndoom aqua jet the Infernape surf the Rapid ash and make mortar and aqua jet the blast on Lucian was the next restless sweep of Shadow Ball except SB where I had to rush attack with agitation after the fight f The final Cynthia was the most meticulously planned fight of all LaCie's ice beam couldn't finish off the Spiritomb in one hit so I had to hit it with an icicle plate to do enough damage lucario had extreme speed so I had to that using Giratina Giratina was leveled exactly at 69 and was given just enough stat boost items to surpass Giratina was also given choice specs I picked up in celeste ik city so the power of earth barely Kayode I made sure that Glaceon had enough speed to outrun Garchomp to knock him out and kiss him with ice lightning.
I cast it after the melee to one hit down Milotic, then it was an ice bolt in the rose matrix to finish the challenge and beat pokemon

platinum

without taking a single point of damage 138 hours 37 minutes not including the reboots and this is how i did it if you enjoyed this and want to see more be sure to subscribe.
