Prep work is the most important part of a big project like this. I can't say enough about how important this is for the rest of the project to go well Joseph We started by removing the taken doors It's a good idea to mark all the doors so you know where they go when it's time to put them back Carlos drew a map In the

we also marked all the hinges so that you can put them back together to clean the doors. It's a lot of work, so you have to clean up too. I used a white whitening cleanser for this.

You have to clean everything you are going to paint. This took me a few hours to do, about eight hours in total. Just cleaning up, I also had painter's tape everywhere I needed it and we protected the floor by sticking plastic cleaning things on it. Really anything will work as long as it keeps the pain from hitting the floor as we will be changing the hardware you will need. I filled the holes in the old hardware. I made this with Dixie mud, like I said the prep is a lot of work. I took all the doors home to paint them there.

I set up my studio with some protection on the floor. I also set up a bunch of paint buckets to act as spinners. I also made sure to leave the tape marking the doors, leave them where the hinges go so you don't have to worry about painting over them, so once I installed my door, it was time to paint before continuing. I want to give a shout out to Pam Hastings of 44 Marketplace when it comes to kitchen paint and

. She is the person you want to go to. I watched many of her videos and asked her many questions.

She answered everything, recommending adding two coats of paint on each side of the door and recommending using at least three coats of Gator skin on the outside and one or two on the inside of the doors. Do all of this before installing the doors. I'm coming back so that's exactly what I did, it would be easier for me if I turned around to run away, but there's something clinging on so tightly to enjoy now that it's Gator hide. I finally learn how to use it correctly thanks to Pam the secret. It's water, wet your brush and keep it wet the entire time you use Gator hide.

You don't want to spray water directly on Gator's height, but you do want to wet your brush. Change the game to apply Gator hide. Thank you. Keep it simple, I learned a lot about alligator height on this project and I'm so glad I did it. Then I went back to pay for the drawers and the rest of the kitchen. I couldn't believe the coverage. I only used two coats and the orange disappeared.
