Budget Fast & Furious 8 Build

Previously on Mighty Car Mods we met with Dennis McCarthy from Vehicle Effects who is the head of the car department for Fast and Furious 8 and after seeing some of the awesome cars from the movie we asked him if we could

build

them. ours using a car we just bought on the Internet. Today we have a day to make a movie car in the style of Fast and Furious and since we are in the United States, we had to all become Americans. There you have it. And here it is. What are we seeing here, Dennis? What... what is this?

Ahh... Probably not one of the most popular Corvettes. Uh...we have our '66, which is one of the coolest years, and '84, which is probably one of the least cool years. Oh, is it? I think so. What makes this the least cool of the Corvettes? Because I think, personally, it looks pretty awesome. They are terribly slow. But it's V8, right? It's a V8. It's uh... This was basically a couple year deal where they had the cross ram and kind of an attempt to bring back the cool factor of 1969. Z28 had a dealer put option where you could have a cross ram, and that was great.

This cross ram... isn't that cool. If I had a little more time, we'd probably delete it. But maybe we can do some tricks and get a little more power out of it. How much do you think this would be worth? I'm really interested to know how much you would have paid for this. Then I can tell you if we got a good deal or not. At least between 300 and 400 dollars. Oh... We paid two thousand five hundred for it, unregistered. ...well, you know, hey... When you need a car in a hurry... hey, you know what? In the world of movie cars...

I thought it was a very good deal...! In the world of movie cars... it's like, hey... We need a car tomorrow, we just wrecked three on set, we're out... You know, sometimes you have to pay more for what you need and you need it in the future. spot If they had 24 hours, they had to make a deal. Hey...they could have gone worse. You know what I mean. This is not so bad. It's a great platform. It's a great platform, but they destroyed us a lot. So, being that you're the movie car guy, I mean...what would you do to this?

If someone said... great, you have 24 hours. You have to leave it like... done. What are some things you would do...? Well... umm... The platform itself is good, I mean... In 1984, this was pretty much state of the art... You know, the suspension... the suspension is still great today in day. As if this is a suspension that is often grafted onto previous cars. We like to go where the bluebird flies and go home. This Corvette is amazing! Applauded!!! Lots of torque... I think we have a winner here. Roadkill is better than us. I can't believe it's not butter...the clutch is terrible.
