BSY | SCORING A BIG WHITETAIL BUCK | S1E68

May 31, 2021
What's happening? It's the morning, well the morning at a party, looking at all the trail camera footage and actually reviewing some of the bobcat footage, look at that beast. I mean, KC both agreed on who's bigger than that. Oh guys, it means October 22, six, oh. It's Veolia, I guess 5:30am. m., that's the time you do this day number two of our Kansas

whitetail

hunt the way they do it, but it's more fun, but the way they plan six different ways is to check the wind direction , whatever the wind. The direction they go, they go and write down every stand they have with the correct wind direction, so if you're coming from the south, they have southwest stands, so they write down all that, basically they go in and look at all the trail camera footage. . and the six most active booths are the ones that go and sit down so that's what they're doing right now or they show everyone which is cool because they show you exactly what's going to happen so they show you the stand on the The map tells you what toy the winds will come and then they show you the deer that have been saying this and the last few days, so you go in there and the Giants that could shoot right here and it's possible at the same time. re

and what I'm learning about whitetails they don't like the time of light they like to come out in the dark but they are very nocturnal in this place they start out kind of circling around the mass of routine which is all about patience and it's about spending your time in the stands because it will happen, you will lose, you have to be there and spend your time at the bottom of the river or yesterday morning, so last night we were behind me a little further north this morning south in the river. we have like a pretty steady northwest wind right now reading probin are you sailing? it's nice so last time for everyone, I like this place, many of the places I have only one crossing point so deer are more than likely to come in.

Crossing the river on the South would be great to see. I just want to see some action. I don't care if they are the Devas or something. Seeing the close action in the last few days, so that's all I care about. There are many things there that I want. to see if I could get up to shoot myself, did you hear me? Wow, that was great. I heard splashing in the river behind me and that little spiked guy was actually walking down the river and then right in the middle of the cross under the fence. just putting it about 12 yards out what I was worried about was that we had gotten mixed up or that you would hit our center back and freak out and you really didn't, it seemed like he was trying to figure it out. something came out but he was literally standing on it before we walked and where I set up that camera and there was no detection which is encouraging if it was just a big mature dad that would have been amazing because I would have been able to draw when he was.

Behind me he just walked, so a little action. I also wonder if he was just making a noise like maybe 10 or 15 minutes ago. Part of me wonders if he came because he heard that or if it's just a coincidence. Don't know. I know, but that excited me, I finally loved it. It's nice, a little bubble with firm action. I know, normally when we hunt out West, yeah, it's slow, like there's things we can do, don't increase our odds, like you know. I'm always thinking that I could stay out longer, sir, do certain things like fiscally, yes, there is a possibility.

I don't know what we can do here to improve our chances, but I've been wondering aloud if we've been on the stand. Like we sit still and whisper, but I want to go out and listen. I told Eric to make some sounds that we've been making, like maybe the chair moves a little bit and just seeing how much I can hear it down here, that's pretty cool. you can't see us Eric sit down all I see if I can see you that's pretty good now get up hidden Jana makes noises okay you raise the back window they can hear that just fine now document a whisper about some flowers we're whispering Okay or nothing sit on that one chair, move it a little bit interesting, it's pretty quiet.

I couldn't hear any of it besides the window rising. “I can hear the window rising back in here,” you whisper. I can hear the chair, well, we're doing that. right, I guess it'll just be necessary that one time, one mistake, bet a dollar now, what could be our chance, we'll come back, find a new location for tonight, just up north, you're okay, these partners there, so what I love you? What I have to do is I want you to walk this way I'm going to walk this way because at night I want you to sneak out this way so I want you to walk find a good way to sneak in that way are you kind to use that same path to sneak around, we're getting the whole aerial view on the Onyx map of the property, about twice, he's giving us directions on how to go and that Onyx map is so cool for so many different reasons. we can look at the property lines that they have leased the property that we have permission to hunt we can put pins in the trees we can put pins in, you know, stealth cameras, trail cameras, etc., just because we share with each other, so like like they're doing now, we could find out all we need to do, put a pin on the onyx map if we want, we've actually been sharing them with B Mac and those guys bouncing back and forth on a group text message that guy This makes it fun, so he bans B Mac and Zack.
You know we're all in different areas and we all have group texts and we just poke each other to let each other know if you're moving or if you're moving. standing and all that is a lot of fun, but the onyx map is definitely very useful here for different reasons, almost why they are so useful for us in the West or at home. It's a lot of fun to use satellite imagery here and just to see where the forests are, see where the fields are, you know, see where the bedding areas are so we know exactly what's going on based on the wind that's in, so the onyx map has definitely been very helpful here on this journey.
A lot of you probably don't think onyx will help you if you're white, so you hunt hunting properties, but it's been phenomenal for us because these guys will just leave us and we'll look at it and see exactly where we are. in and where we need to be, while the stand, at worst, where the deer bet and where the food is, so it's been very useful for your friends later, a whole team not Jude Snapchat, I think I'm a little old to Snapchat. There's an age limit of 41, not sure if that's loud, but I just took my first photo with Joe for his brother.
It depends on a warm and windy day. They just left us. We're sitting in the booth where Eric and Casey were. last night, so we'll disband bouncing around different stands trying different things to see if we can hit a tag, no one's killed anything since Eric's money on the first night after that storm, tonight might be the night, though I'd say Mostly I tell it to people. I would try to tell you that a hot afternoon may not be ideal, you never know, you just don't know. I guess we just reconfigured our new blind, we did a test draw, we are clear everywhere, we have to shoot big on the lines.
I did a mock scrape, sit back, let this be like a dumb rope, but first scrape, I guess this is my first mock scrape that I did. I feel like I did a very good job. I use a stick to remove all the leaves from the grass. You kind of give it the visual and then this makes it scrape out the venom, which is thin because we saw a bunch of snakes coming in here, it's like snake venom, but it's not like that. Have seen some pretty good

buck

s here as of late. few weeks, so my hope is that a dollar purchase from Cruces is going to see my box scrape and when he has his nose in the air, he makes a broadside, which will be 16 yards, let him have that's the goal, like this Jordan just sent me the photos of the shooters who are on the stand.
This was the 21st and his last clients that night. That insect stayed in this field, 65 yards away, maybe it got close to this. It's 527 a.m. look how beautiful here is the 5 there is another one that is here I gave him old me guards little cheater there big body the same guy this is the other very wide and long main beams cute opee there is a raccoon - better what really welcomes new Oh well, that's all we saved for the day SOT - mm walk the earth in shooting distance doctor, many things are going against us right now this collapse we have very hot weather the route has not started yet for get it really moving we have a Fulbright minute right now Can I tell you I can tell the people at The World who do this a lot.
I have Madras Madras Day for you when I was younger. He pays attention to the outdoor TV every time we use it, so that was the episode where we went blank until the "Let's change the channel" episode. Denna is a dream if days were like that. Now it's hard to hear people say oh, I won't waste more than me there, since I don't weigh these dear little crafty animals. I've never seen that baby. So many photos of cats that traveled. We create a lifestyle. Janet breastfeeds so many. Trail camera tear bags only hit at night. From time to time, she crashes a lot, so she paces in the morning when it comes.
The hours are delayed almost enough. All these images are simply in the dark or drinks waiting for that one and making a mistake. all we need, so try again tomorrow morning, well, it's officially one minute past the trigger light, so we're packing up the blinds and raising a doubt, but I thought tonight was going to happen, we had like five or six toasts that passed by the stand. was all over that log scraping that I did and man I thought it was going to happen like maybe right before the last light a dollar would come in, but I have a feeling check it out, if we check out this Delta campground tomorrow, a dollar, I've come.
Tonight I think they're still around, it's a little nocturnal with what's going on with this weather pattern, at least immature

buck

s, but that was fun, that was exciting, it makes it worth it for us, Sam, when you have animals in your stand . innum is specifically like when you don't get caught, we survived six toes, one of which was like eight yards away, so I call it a win of the day and we had a couple more days left, so I'm moving on . I'm still lucky and will fill out a couple of extra tags, but it's a beautiful and fun evening in Kansas.
I'm going to hit 60. I'm going to say 168. I know you just took over my bed. 169. I must say that 167. I removed the tape every time. Go earn my money for fun and then we'll all put up beds and stuff. I hear some good numbers coming out of some guys who have a lot more experience at it than me, oh hey I don't have anyone to say if he's like 140. he's like 100 to 200 inches, yeah those guys are in their forties, I think it measures - 1 6 8 and 1/4. I don't really care what the deer scores. What I'm saying is I'm going to squirt right now for your lack of ability to build a baked potato, what the heck is we ate sour cream cheese, but I don't know the word on line 1 61 67, I'm going to go to 164, he's mid to late 60s so im at hugga 163 im going to 166 and 2? eights 1 69 and like, I'm going to sub 160 guys, something that may seem crazy, but 157 and a quarter 19 for how much 1943 number 1:47 air it's hard to disappoint them what is it for the tenant to eat wasn't 11 + 5 11 and 5/ 8, who was closer, buddy, he's a lot bigger, yeah, yeah, that creative whitetail hunter 168.
I feel very lucky now that we've spent two full days and a stand-up on the case, every time I haven't seen a mature buck, so to think that happened the first night, sitting down for the first time during the day, I mean when it happened it's like, oh, this is easy, like everyone was shooting these giant bucks, but I got really lucky .
