Well, these are difficult days for many, but staying positive and seeing an end in sight is the message of a new song whose video was filmed by the band King's Daughters from their London home during lockdown. hey, hey, get up, get up, get up, well the song Get Up was co-written by King's Daughters and none other than Queen legend Brian May, you may have seen it there in that video and I'm very happy to say that. Brian joins me now from his home in London. Brian, thank you so much for speaking with me tonight. Listen, you've described this song as a powerful tonic for people and we need it right now, right?

Yes, it works for me. I smile and not much happens right now. It is a very difficult moment for one. This is a tragedy, but there are things to be grateful for and I hope you can hear me. You know, there are a lot of people who are in a terrible situation. sometimes you know and we're going to lose a lot of people, it could be me seen as an elderly um uh vulnerable person but you know it's not all bad there are good things to look forward to and this is just for now This album is designed simply to encourage the people and I think they will do a great job.

Brian just let you know that we can hear and see you perfectly, which is great now that you're working with King's Daughter on this song, lead singer Talia Dean, she's thrilled. having been working with you she talked to us a little earlier this is what she said when

said he wanted to work on this song i thought he was joking i didn't really take it seriously i thought why would it be so huge rockar wants to work with my little me, our small and um, but he was very serious. The first thing I did was call the band and say, "Oh my God, you know Brian wants to work with us." Brian, she's a big fan of yours.

I'm a big fan of yours, AR, aren't I? I love Talia yeah she's amazing well she comes from phel this big Rock star comes from phelam and we're all from phum you know so there's really no big difference and as soon as me. I heard this song, it really gave me some hope and this was quite a while ago but it could have been written for this occasion. I love it. Listen, we know that 10% of all the money made from the sale of this album goes to. go to the mental health charity and that's very important, like you were saying, you know a lot of people are feeling anxious right now, right?

And mental health, you know, can be as important as our physical health can't. and you are in isolation, right? How are you? Yes absolutely. I've been through some dark times, you know, and I'm kind of a depressive, really, so I found it very difficult at first, esp. the loss of freedom, uh, but I'm getting over it and I'm finding that there are joys that can be found in isolation, there are a lot of things that people are getting very creative about and when we come out of this, I think there will be some great lessons that we've learned I hope that we remember the lessons we have learned that we can work from it cars can stop planes can stop the air can clear I mean, suddenly we can all breathe again that will save countless lives There are no roadkill on the roads anymore.

Our wildlife rescue is experiencing a tremendous difference. All these things that we believe are part of our society and cannot get rid of all the evils that humanity has brought to the world. They are not inevitable, maybe we can change, maybe we need a new direction. You know, I knew Brian. You would get some positives from this whole experience, but just tell me something. You know you said yes. I think you are 72 years old now. No? you're at home you have to stay at home um but you're feeling positive you're feeling good right now but what are you doing with your time that's what we want to know part of writing songs right?

You know, I'm busier than ever because there are so many demands. People like to do things online, you know, for videos and things. um. I discovered that I don't have enough time in the day. It's very strange. I can do a lot of what I do. I want to do it at home, in fact I wonder how I had time to tour, but you know it's been great and I do a lot of micro concerts at night. I play guitar most nights for people and just take requests for what. They want to listen and I've had people play with me, which has become a nice thing.

I have a little hashtag with Bri um, so you know, I have a lot to do.
