Blow Dryer Brush | QUICK & EASY Tips to get Frizz-Free Voluminous Hair
if your

hair

air dries like this and you got a

blow

up

brush

i know exactly what you're gonna say i'm using my bullet

brush

but i still see

frizz

or i'm using my

blow

out

brush

and i'm not getting the volume that i want you're doing it wrong and i'm just a friendly

hair

dresser your

hair

dresser bestie and i'm going to show you how to do it right tip number one you want your

hair

to be wet but not too wet my

hair

right now is too dry so if i'm going to use my

blow

up

brush

on my

hair

like this i'm not going to get the smoothness and the fullness because my

hair

is too dry it's not going to be manipulated in the same way as it would if it was more wet however if your

hair

is too wet what ends up happening is it takes forever for you to get through your

hair

your arms are going to hurt it's just gonna be a huge waste of time my rule of thumb is damp not drenched tip number two you need good quality effective products in order to make your hot tools work better this is the tame

frizz

smoothing lotion i really really like this to smooth down the cuticle and allow my hot tool to work better what i do is just apply two pumps on my hand and rub that in through the mid shafts and ends notice how i'm not applying a

frizz

reduction product on my roots and that's because i don't want to weigh my roots down i still want volume i just don't want

frizz

roots are rarely ever

focus the product there if you are someone that struggles with volume then you're going to want to use volumizing products the volumizing product that i really like is the add volume volumizing spray by kms when you are using a volumizing spray of any brand you want to focus that product on the roots so what i like to do is spray it all over my head massage it into my root then take a

brush

and comb everything through tip number three you need to section your

hair

properly this is a rookie mistake that i always see in my clients the biggest piece of advice that i can give you is that you cannot put more

hair

into the round

brush

than the round

brush

can handle look at the width of your

brush

and look at the density of your

hair

you want to make sure that you put in enough

hair

that the

brush

can glide through it and heat all of it up if you have so much

hair

on the

brush

that it's not heating up the section for example like this you will for sure get a

frizz

y end result tip number four tension you need to wrap your

hair

around the barrel and pull so that you get tension on the

hair

tension is going to smooth out the cuticle layer which leads me to this question what is the cuticle layer the cuticle layer is the outermost part of the

hair

and the only way that i can describe it is like shingles on a roof when the cuticle layer is laying flat and down your

hair

is going to look really glossy and smooth and shiny when the cuticle layer is lifted up your

hair

is going to...

look really unruly and

frizz

y by adding tension to your

blow

out and starting with

hair

that is moist you're literally manually smoothing those shingles down to give you a beautiful end result a very glossy and smooth result it's kind of amazing actually because when you do these things your

hair

transforms almost into another person's head of

hair

my

hair

right now is so glossy and smooth and shiny that it looks absolutely nothing like it looks when it air dries in its natural state you have the ability to control how your

hair

looks you have the ability to make your

hair

look whichever way you want it to look just by following some techniques and some tricks and using the right products tip number five adjust your heat settings according to your

hair

type i typically see

hair

fall into two categories when it comes to a

blow

out

brush

you either have extremely fine

hair

hair

that's so so so fine that if you lose any of it you're in trouble or extremely extremely extremely extremely damaged

hair

damaged

hair

that is so beyond damage that is starting to look like cotton you know where you see those little flakes all over your bathroom when you

blow

it out that's the type of

hair

that's in a really emergency state that is breaking it doesn't mean you can't

blow

dry your

hair

if you have these

hair

types but you need to be careful because i have seen clients really damage their

hair

by not being careful so in that case all you want to do is...

bring your

blow

out

brush

down to a low or to a cool heat setting that way you're not blasting and when you are creating tension to smooth out your cuticle you just want to make sure that you're not ripping

hair

out if you're seeing a ton of

hair

on your

blow

out

brush

or a ton of

hair

falling on the bathroom floor then you've got to calm it down because you can do irreparable damage that i have seen many many times with my clients on the other hand if you have very thick

hair

unruly

hair

extremely

frizz

y

hair

but your

hair

is strong and you want to smooth it out you do need to have more tension and you do need to have more heat or it just won't work in that case you want to go right up to the high heat setting tip number six cooling the

hair

will set the volume if you want extreme volume what you want to do is you want to wrap that section in the barrel and then switch from the high heat setting from the hot heat setting over to the cool heat setting cool air applied to dry

hair

and dry

hair

only will set the shape in place and create an amazing end result this is why the cool shot button exists on all your

blow

dryer

s in case you didn't know wrap your

hair

blast it with cool shot and you're gonna get incredible volume tip number seven you can still use your hot tools when you use a

blow

up

brush

if you want to manipulate the shape of your

hair

more and you want a little bit more control go in with your hot tools you can use a straightener now to...
flip ends out or flip them in or just adjust accordingly or you can go in with your curling iron and you're going to get the most beautiful glossy gorgeous curls because your

hair

has a really great base to work with if you guys want some more
