What's happening guys? My name is Theoatrix and today Jagex released the December issue of the Gilanor Gazette. The Gazette is a long blog post about what the old school team has been working on and the new content they plan to publish. They show a diagram of the path. that old school will take on in

. They want old school to become the most played mmo in the world. They want to be industry leaders. in player engagement and advocacy and lastly, they want to improve their operating system technology as well as improve their equipment and approach to the game.

These are huge goals and jagex knows this, but they are prepared to work hard and grow with these ideas in mind. is planning more seasonal game modes, such as deadman mode and leagues, as well as more events and missions. They love adding content for all segments of the game, be it pvm, pvp, skills, bosses, or general gameplay. Jack x plans to increase his communication. With the player base having more surveys and more direct conversations with players, Jagex will improve player support in 2021, which has been significantly lacking in recent years, and they plan to improve the two-factor authentication system as well as the technology. internal. and tools to achieve their goal of the largest mmo, they realize that they need to target new platforms like Steam and be more wel

update. The first is the Christmas event which is actually launching tomorrow and will run until early 2021. I'm not going to go into it in depth today because you can expect a bigger video on From Me Soon, starting next week on the 15th. December, you will be able to try Soul Wars in its beta stage. Soul Wars will be released in mid-January 2021 and should be the first major update of the year. To play in the beta next week, you must claim it on Prime Gaming, so you will need an Amazon Prime subscription and you will need to link it to your Runescape account.

Runescape turns 20 on January 4, 2021, so around that date I'll be getting an in-game anniversary event that will hopefully bring back some nostalgia from the early days. Next up is the combat achievement journal which I did a video about recently and it passed the in-game poll by a mile, so that's coming out. Sometime in February, it incorporates a variety of boss and pvm challenges that even the best players may struggle to complete. Next we'll have the fishing skill boss that was removed a few months ago and Jagex had been tweaking it based on player feedback before. With its release close to March in early 2021, Jagex plans to fully launch old school on the Steam store with a new C Plus game client that will better welcome new players to the game.

Next time, jagex plans to implement the rework of its clan chat system. We will be updating friend chats to have more ranks, more administrative roles, and improve clan events. There will be bulletin boards, broadcast messages, more clan ability recruitment boards, and much more to look forward to after the clan update. Jagex plans to introduce the Iron Man party, which has been an update that many players are looking forward to. Jagex will need to finish the clan rework before the Iron Man party because many of their tools and mechanics overlap. There are also two new missions on the roadmap.
The first is a so-called divided kingdom, which we have. I don't have much information yet, but I assume it has something to do with Zaya and the divided kingdoms of the region. The other quest is called Beneath the Ice Mountain, which will be a free quest where players will venture beneath Azganya. in a cold dungeon, this is not confirmed, but I assume that it will introduce a new free ice boss that they have already talked about before, later in 2021. Jagex is planning a desert overhaul to revamp the bounty hunter and redesign it. the wild boss mechanics there isn't much information on this but i think it should be something the pvp community can really look forward to. jagex will also be introducing a variety of minigame changes that I have talked about in the past and probably the most controversial is an arcade that is being added to the big trade to improve player interaction.
They also plan to rework the Shadow of Morton minigame by reworking the underground catacombs, in addition to the content updates, there are some other major changes that will take a long time to work. Jagex plans to resolve login issues that players are having, such as the error that appears where it says too many login attempts. This happens when someone tries to brute force your account and jagex has some ideas to stop this. It also plans to greatly increase account security with changes to how authentication works, account recovery security, and more. Aside from those ideas on the roadmap, jagex has been brainstorming on a variety of other potential ideas that could be introduced later in the year.
The first is the quick execution of missions. This will take part in a separate game world where you choose a mission to speed up the race, then you are given a set of item levels and it unlocks automatically, then a timer starts to see how fast you can do that mission or a line of missions. You'll be able to reset your running speed at any time if you mess up, and you'll be instantly ready to try again. Your personal best time will be displayed alongside the overall world record and they haven't discovered anything about the rewards for this and I'm not really sure if there will be any, but it's definitely something that will bring the fast running community together.
Next up is a new runecrafting skill activity called Guardian of Gulenore. You need to help the wizards of the wizard tower fight against the abyssal creatures. who are ruining a rune crafting project, you will extract the essence of the guardian and imbue it to empower the guardian of gulenore while keeping the balance level of the guardian in check by using different runes. This time, jagex has teased some of the potential rewards: there could be a blood talisman reward. which will allow you to access a blood alter in mauritania for faster blood rune crafting. There will be a colossal essence bag that can hold up to 27 essences at a time, but you won't be able to use it with other rune crafting bags, so instead, combine all the bags into one, there will be a new rune crafting set where , while using it, you will get extra runes, there will also be rune packs as a reward, which will make the activity a bit profitable. has made it clear that this method will not provide fast XP rates and will keep the prestige and grind of rune crafting as it is in 2021.
Jagex is toying with the idea of adding a hunter guild to Zaya. Inside you can talk to Ervin, the ranger who will assign you specific hunting missions, such as selection contracts for certain species to fix the balance within the runescape ecosystem. There could be relocation orders where you will have to capture certain hunting creatures and release them into a different area of runescape. there could be a new elite. hunter tasks where larger hunting creatures will appear, there isn't much information about the hunter guild, but it definitely sounds like interesting content. The latest idea Jagex has been thinking about is faction war, which will be a joint pvp and pvm minigame where three teams fight for territory and resources.
It involves defending your camp by recruiting and upgrading troops, then forging new equipment and cooking food for your team. Then, some players on your team will focus on capturing the places where you need to enter enemy territory and defeat them. boss to take over the area, this entire minigame will bring together pvp and pvm in a high intensity activity that jagex believes will offer enjoyment to all players, so that's a wrap up of 2021 for the old school, there's a lot to look forward to. with a ton of new quests, activities, mini-games, areas, bosses and I'm personally looking forward to the game-changing Iron Man group.
