Beware of Fake Reviewers! ⚠️

May 30, 2021
Okay, I don't really like drawing other people's attention, but this has gotten some bad

fake

tech reviews, which you might be thinking what does that mean? When a company launches a new technology product, say a smartphone, there is almost always, say, 80. of the time, something called an embargo period where the company basically tells the media that it's okay, on the day of our launch , they can make a video about our phone, but they can only make a video about our phone if it's a first impressions video and if these

reviewers

then wanted to do something more detailed than that, like a full review or a camera comparison, then they have to wait until the embargo date to do so, which is usually about two weeks after launch and this is why it seems like for many products, every reviewer literally drops their reviews at exactly the same minute, it's not communication telepathic, it's just that that's when the embargo is lifted.

To be honest, I think the whole thing is a bit cheeky because it means that the company is almost telling

reviewers

what they can and can't talk about in their first videos, so those first videos are generally positive, but it also forces the media to give them two separate waves of coverage, but that's not really the point of the video, the point of this. video is that this whole embargo situation creates an opportunity in that two-week window between the time a phone is announced and the time all the right reviews come out. YouTube is filled with

fake

reviews, literally full 10 minute videos of people pretending to have the phone and making fake content about it, like check out this, a hands-on review of the Google Pixel 5 camera, well that sounds pretty pretty respectable, except this video is none of those three things you never see on your phone, it's the exact opposite of a practice.

More Interesting Facts About,

beware of fake reviewers...

It's not a camera review because, apart from the fact that not a single word is said, it's a slideshow and it's definitely not about a Google Pixel 5. Apart from the fact that it's already unlikely that anyone outside of the media and outside of Google really If you had this phone at launch, if you look a little closer, you'll notice that these photos were taken in at least three different countries. Now, a person who just received a world-exclusive opportunity to test a phone before anyone else would really think: do you know what I do? I'm going to take a trip around the world just to buy some variety, but this person clearly cares about the quality of his videos, so not to mention that these photos look nothing like each other, the quality, the aspect ratios, color processing. it literally changes between each one, it almost seems like the person who did this just googled the word photo and then took the first 15 results and put them into a youtube video.

What's up with this one? Camera comparison between a Samsung Galaxy A8 and a Samsung Galaxy S8. range versus flagship and you can see very clearly how people could believe this. You have two phones. The flagship's shots look a little better by most metrics. This seems like a pretty standard camera comparison, but hold on a second on this 2018 galaxy review. a8 was released in 2017. In some ways, it's literally the first piece of content on the internet about this phone. I searched for years and years and couldn't find anything from any other traditional media outlet made before 2018 and of course yes that's because the phone wasn't even available at the time and if you look a little closer you'll You will notice that the photos they show cannot be of the phones they claim to be because this mid-range galaxy a8 has a small camera sensor, it is smaller even than the s8, so in no world should it be able to create more blur in the background than that phone and yet for some reason here it does and it's not like this video has 12 views and I'm just making a fuss over nothing it's almost a million and the comments section is full of people who are separating the images, analyzing them and really trying to use them to make the right purchasing decision.

People say, thank you. This video really helped me come to a conclusion or the only difference I can see is the saturation so I'm going to go with the cheaper one. This is a legitimate problem, as I spend a lot of my time going over my scripts again and again and again cutting out bits and making sure that everything I tell you is as concise and accurate as possible because your time is valuable and therefore Therefore, it is annoying to see that there are people effectively exploiting viewers in order to make a little profit. of AdSense revenue, the same channel has an iPhone 10 versus a Galaxy S9 plus, again comparing the camera, although what are the chances that this person received a Galaxy S9 on launch day?
If you had one and somehow managed to escape the whole review embargo fiasco and manage to do all that, set it up, shoot it, compare it to a camera, edit it and publish it on the same day, everyone loses in this situation, the company because their product justice is not being done, the consumer, because they are forced to make purchasing decisions based entirely on incorrect information and even the media because clearly many people are seeing and learning from these fake reviews and therefore presumably a good proportion Some of those people will feel like they don't need to see more widespread coverage because they already know what they need. to know about this phone or so they think and if you are enjoying this video then subscribing to the channel would be try again.
I'm not going to name the channel, but they have more than one hundred thousand subscribers and fifty million views. and the worst part about this is that it's not just one channel, the more I looked into it the more I discovered more and more of these and when I got to 25 I realized that this is a widespread problem with YouTube and these channels. like the videos they're making are literally all the bad YouTube stereotypes put together, like take a look at these thumbnails, not only are virtually none of them taken with a phone let alone these specific phones they claim to be assumed, but also almost without fail using some type of European model to try to get more clicks or, failing that, YouTubers.
I feel like I've seen almost every tech youtuber they face in the last two days or in videos that don't belong to them, I even came across several times which is really strange to see because they actually edited my thumbnail in a way semi-convincing, looks like I did it, it's just bad and hey, I get it youtube. It's hard and I know what it's like to put your heart and soul into videos and get very little recognition, but in the long run this is not the way to be successful on the platform. The content has to be genuine.
I can also see the funny side. I saw this from a supposed Huawei zoom test where they showed how the Huawei can zoom in 30 times and still get a sharp result, except bro, you literally just zoomed in twice, just look at this, this is one time, apparently it's 30 times , once 30. times I give up, it's actually not even just a camera test, although the more I look at it, the more I realize that for almost everything that can be faked, there will be fakes, like the other day, in I was actually doing some research on this. The new xiaomi mi 11 was just announced because it looks like a monster phone, so I was a little excited to see that one of the first things that appeared was a cool gaming test that will be amazing to see, but the only time.
You actually see that the phone is in the thumbnail, and as you probably already know, thumbnails are very easy to manipulate. I tell you now that no matter what this title says, this is not the xiaomi mi 11 game if I'm wrong. This I will literally give every person who watches this video a xiaomi 11, you will realize because it was released on December 28th which is the same day as the exclusive launch event in China, this phone is meant to be the first of the next generation and yet the graphics and frame rate in this video look like something out of the ordinary but the most damning thing is that at one point it looks like they accidentally lowered the status bar and it is very clearly a Samsung phone or there was one here that said to be the first video that tests the next generation snapdragon 888 chipset well, apart from the fact that again the first snapdragon 888 phone wasn't even released at this time, if you scroll down to the comments, this person claims the chip has an antutu benchmark score of 850,000 as if there is some kind of insider leaking information but there isn't, it's not even close to that anyway the point of this video is not to start leaving comments of hate in these videos, no, please don't do that. just for you it's just for you if you're trying to make a purchasing decision and you happen to find yourself in one of these videos so I'll just leave you with a couple of things to keep in mind if the channel you're watching has disabled ratio of likes and dislikes or you've disabled comments, which should be a pretty immediate red flag because on YouTube, by default, those two things are on and so if they're off, it means that whoever Either the owner of that channel has actively enabled them, which could be an indication that they are trying to hide something and the second thing to note, the only thing I found in common with each of these fake spam channels is the fact that they were all faceless, which makes sense.
Because naturally, if you're doing something that's insincere, you don't want to associate it with your identity, so what I found is that with almost every single one of these channels you would only see their hands or, failing that, literally a screen. recording or a cam show or some kind of thing that doesn't reveal who they are and also follow their social profiles like I don't think any of these channels have a Twitter or Instagram account so something to keep an eye out because I've only ever given you We have shown examples related to smartphones, but you can bet your bottom dollar that this will happen in the PC market, in the console market, in the camera market, and in practically everything that has to do with technology, so stay attentive, thank you.
You for watching, my name is Aaron, this is the man who is the boss and I will see you next time.
