I literally just took screenshots of a bunch of examples that are pretty recent, from the last week or so. If I had to go through all the old ones, it would take forever, so I hope I have enough hair to go through. I also have like eight examples, so we'll see what comes up. I don't include any. names on any of these and this is not meant to be a petty criticism of those I point out as bad examples and it is also a personal preference as to how I would like to be approached so please don't be offended if you see your Apply here and wanted to do this video primarily for educational purposes obviously, but just to point out maybe some common or not so common mistakes that you might be making when you ask to connect with someone new and it's like a cold lead. or warm up to someone who may know about you and who you are.

I wanted to start with some good examples, say what's good about them and then move on to the not so good, the first one I wanted to share with you, which is a good example. of a

connection

request is this, so this guy said hi Natasha. I am part of the medium partner program. I found out about your work through a sponsor article on medium and learned a lot about how to use LinkedIn from your YouTube videos. I'm a freelance journalist and writer looking to connect with other creative professionals. The

best

thing, James, now what you've done very well here is that he introduced himself as someone who knows me, so Peyton, in my article on Medium, is flattering me by saying "I." I learned a lot about how to use LinkedIn from YouTube videos and then he told me why he wants to connect with me, so he's looking to connect with other creative professionals, so he's hit a couple different points.

Here's how he knows about me, he complimented me is whether flattery is one of the best things you can do in a hookup request. I'm not saying on a dirty level why it's just fake, but if you have a genuine compliment to give someone, then definitely. put it here and it's like it makes me look, it makes me feel good about myself and obviously if someone's connection request has made me feel good about myself, I'll be in a better mood, I'm more likely to click accept, I want talk to him. in the past because they gave me a compliment and then at the end he said that he is a freelance journalist and writer looking to connect with other creative professionals, so he tells me why he wants to connect with me.

This is obviously custom, not an automated request. because it would make sense to anyone else except me, which is what makes this so good for Exhibit B Hi Latasha, I came to a YouTube channel, I love it, you're cool, that would be nice, okay, I thought It would be great to connect. I think that's what it's supposed to say Regards Dmitriy, I can obviously tell like the graph. I guess that's not a big deal. Yes, the main thing that makes this good is the praise again and the energy like the capital letters that make me happy for some reason. like anything you capsule and it's like wild love it's a positive association that's like a good word happy this guy just seems funny the way he wrote this he seems like a calm guy so what I have on my network he has kept brief. and sweet, I just said, I found your videos, I love it, let's connect and I'm making sure we connect, that's why this one is so good, it's short, simple and sweet, next one Natasha, I thought we were connected this whole time.
I just realized you were. I learned a lot from you on LinkedIn, so it would be a pleasure to have you as part of my network. I hope this stands out. PS: The seven day intensive course is now the reason why this is good because I also recognize this person. I recognize you for commenting on my videos and also for being part of my intensive course, so what you have done very well here is tell me that you want to connect with me and you thought we would connect all this time because I have been in each other's ecosystems for quite a while. time.
I've learned a lot from you about LinkedIn compliments again. You'll see this as a common thread, like all the good ones I select. It's usually done by selecting something about my content. In particular, it doesn't have to be a compliment, but it's usually them showing that they've taken the time to go see something or be informed about something I did through Khan tonight, which is like they're showing interest in my. I'm more likely to be interested in you and then he's like, I hope this one stands out because it's personalized or a hookup request, which is what I talk about all over Tire and I'm like Kylie, you just have to appease the hookup

requests

to what he's actually saying.
I hope this connection stands out because I took the time to personalize it, which I really appreciate and then another compliment: the seven-day intensive course is air, so it also says that you can already do it about who I am. In part seven, to a crash course I would also love to connect with you on LinkedIn, which is why this one is so good. Next up I've put a bunch of good ones here just so you can see how you and people wrote them. of using them as basic templates to insert your own information into this so that it's relevant to the potential client you're reaching out to, so the fourth one is Hi Natasha.
Yesterday I listened to one of your webinars. I work on the sales navigator side. Me at Leighton just wanted to connect and say, girl, well done, all the best, Charlie, you seem like a really cool person. He works at LinkedIn, so it's obviously relevant to me. She works in sales and on the middle side, that's even more relevant to me. and that means even more to me in terms of a compliment because she's coming from someone on LinkedIn and she's like a hyperactive girl than the girl above and being well done like that, obviously I'm going to pass the SATs. it's like she just sees a cool person next, so hi Natasha.
I've watched a couple of your videos on LinkedIn Sales Navigator. I would like to know how you can help my business grow. The good thing about this is that I know she's an incoming potential client, so obviously. I will accept any message that says I want to know more information about how you can help my business grow by asking specific questions on LinkedIn if I offer crush coaching start my eight-week program like all this another reason why I like to accept people who are watching my content so I can ask them if they have other recommendations that they want to see, so when you look at who you want to accept it with, who you want to connect with, you have to think about the value that you are giving them, all the value that they have been giving you and how this will mutually beneficial if they come together because for me it is mutually beneficial because these people are watching my YouTube videos.
They are part of my online ecosystem, they are at the forefront of what I do, some of them are customers, yes, so what I want to do is connect with them. I want to ask if you have any specific praise. I can help you work. Sometimes that leads to a conversation about what they need help with, so if, for example, I say, "Hey, you like the anis swimming videos you'd like me to film on YouTube and I have a marketing agency." and e-commerce niche, so I'm looking to connect with cosmetic brands from 50 to 100 companies. Could you make a video on how sales navigation can do that?
And I'm like, yeah, sure, how many clients do you have? right now I might just be getting started, you're already established just getting started, okay, great, let me send you a quick video that might help you get started so you don't have to wait until the video comes out, shoot them a loom. them a loom and that can naturally start a conversation, which leads to having a discovery call and making a phone call with them and potentially selling them to the monster. The monster also put you on the free course I run. I will direct a lot. of people my links like the low ticket program or if they are already more established and earn more than 510k per month then they all recommend my program if they are suitable for that so that is not the benefit.
For me, I accept these people and I'm also going to talk about the bad ones and I'm also going to briefly mention a couple of things you should know about the connection requested in the video in terms of character limits, best practices, things like that. I just want to go through the real life examples quickly to give you the context of where I'm coming from, so this one now this one seems like it was really annoying when people pretend they want to connect with you about one thing, but then they just go straight into a speech. and obviously if you can't ask to connect with me to say let's just connect and you haven't said anything else that you want to have a conversation about, then the welcome message shouldn't be a speech. me and if I say no then don't continue leading me on, let's take that as a sign that she is not interested, let me end the conversation here or just thank her for connecting in any way and then post content and in the future.
I see value in what you offer. I will contact you and try to avoid a sales pitch right away. Anyway, you just want to go and have a genuine conversation. Find out if the person has a problem that you can help with in another way. at I put a pastor on a broken arm if you haven't identified what the problem is in the first place, then this is also the connection request that he sent me. Hi Natasha, it sounds like you do an impressive job. I was checking your profile and thought it helps. It makes sense for us to connect if you're open to that, let's connect Natasha better than Steve.
I'm sure, so I accept her connection request and then she sends me this welcome message. Hello, touch, vibrate. Connect Oakland, young, far, near, safe and healthy, given the current situation. situation. I was checking your profile. I see you've been on a mystery for quite some time, so I thought I'd drop by. I'll just put this in, reduce it. I help trainers in different industries identify what is slowing their growth, avoid propping up competitors, and achieve incredible results from their clients using the system. I'm curious, a touch, could I need help with this? So this is okay, it's not that bad.
Normally I would have another layer between this, but it's good that you introduced yourself, you told me what you're doing, could you use some help with this? My response is hello name, we all appreciate you, I hope you are too, thanks for the input, aren't you a good fit for the offer? Right now, either way, it's great to be connected and feel free to reach out to us. Then I can relate you to the questions. You may have the best approaches. I'm like this. She will like to use the Riesling and fill in any help, but like me.
I'm not interested in offering right now and then she messages me, another message, it's like good morning to fix my apologies for coming back. I hope her loved ones are still safe and sound in this temporary crisis anyway. I appreciate the connection my brother has. I have been able to help many Hutchison consultants no matter who they are in, so I want to introduce myself. I can help you all while I'm here. Could all trainers like you? I have a case study idea, but you can check out his On my own, I'm sure you can find something of value here, and he has to send me a bunch of similar links, things like two or three different links to learn more, which that I have said excessively and that I am not interested. so at this point it's like the conversations are over unless you want to have a normal conversation with me and ask me something specific about my business, what I do and if in the future I need help I'll know where to go, it's better to stay. the first thing on your mind and having multiple soft touch points, then come in and ruin it before you've even started because now in the future I probably won't come back to this pasture because who tried to offer me something when I said no?
It feels like an invasion of privacy and that's kind of what a link feels a little bit like right now because people send a seemingly innocent connection request and then three of them go there with the pigeon, it's like I don't care. would have registered. for this and this is not why I accepted you if I need help I will find it for you you can introduce yourself you can tell me what you do you can ask me questions about myself but as you should realize with connection requests and how to sell on LinkedIn if you are talking to another human being you are having a conversation if you're networking about would you walk up to someone and before you say hello, tell that person's name Amos, would you rather say, hey, I'm?
Natasha, I am a consultantLinkedIn. Do you want to spend thousands of pounds on the programme? And I offer them no, they don't care, they don't know. I don't give them any valid reason why they should give me any of that. money so I'm not going to ask for it like the best thing I can do is let someone get used to you and make it happen in an involved way, like obviously I'm not going to cover it with everything Dan, our bar today, but a lot of my potential customers They're inbound, which is nice because I know they're watching my content already knows me, so it's less work for me to say hey, do you know what I do? because they already know what I do, but when it comes to these things, the best thing this guy could have done is say no. concerns you either way, it's great to be connected if you have any questions about this topic, please feel free to reach out to us as far as content goes, it's anything specific that you would like me to post so we can make more connections. valuable to you, something like that will give me value because I'm going to give an example right now to let the dating world before you meet someone, you'll probably get to know them a little bit or if you want to go on a first date, opportunities.
They're like people like to talk about themselves so if you're on a date my advice would be to ask them lots of questions, show genuine interest and show that you're actively listening by repeating back to them what they've said so for example my little girl things that people mentioned, you can pick up on them and then bring them back and ask some deeper questions, which is basically like Socratic selling the same thing with this is ask a question, shut up and listen and then ask the question that relates to the answer. that they I just gave it to you because if you only have that end goal in mind in terms of your sale, it's not going to work, you have to have the mindset of how can I help Parson, not what can I sell to them, how can I help them, how can I find out? what they are struggling with, let me find out what problem they are having and then at that point let me see if what I have could be a good solution to help them solve this problem and if not I still want to help them, let me send them someone else or give them a reference, so it's a way of thinking that I like to use when I talk to people late; works much better and that's why I don't really like this style because most people don't even When I read it I thought I already knew it like a speech before I look at it when you say I'm not interested and then you see two lakes and five paragraphs.
I know that person just didn't listen to me and Anyway, I just Centro, that's Exhibit A when it comes to bad connection classes. Exhibit B is this, so it's actually an automation company, so they have automation software. I got two messages in about 60 seconds that were somewhat similar from two people looking at the same company giving me the same pitch, which is a bit strange and especially when you're a company using your service, you want my first impression of your Service looked good and this was not so basically what they serve. I'm like: I hope you're okay and something apart from my network since you're the consultant who turns off the edema.
I thought you would be the first person to go to regarding this. This is a welcome message. 105 maybe even I like it. apparently in a second request I didn't send this letter so this video also includes the backstory, an intact consultant in a second I thought you would be the first person, you are going to do this Did you have a chance to watch the 90 seconds explained in video in my connection request? We have developed a pilot AI automation platform that helps our clients boost their sales type like my lectern. It was three times more effective as an innovation in multiple methods than using Click Google and we can basically boost it and attach it.
It looks like a sales channel with Horton's daily. Won't it be directly in your inbox? Calendar on autopilot. Are you using LinkedIn to generate leads? Right now, in touch, we are so confident in our platform that it will generate new hundreds of hot leads every month. I will offer all businesses as a 14-day free trial platform. It's nice for anyone to take a demo picket, sign up for a 14-day free trial, and head back to the hotel. soon you want to use it to enter generate leads what are you two? caps like this form type setting made me laugh because basically in an automation tool you can select different pieces of information or data to pull from a profile and personalize the message. for example, you can remove the first name, the last name, the company name, the title, things like that and what they did is they removed the name of my company, but since I am a consultant, the name of the company I had at the time was Natasha Avila Secor, so it doesn't really make sense when it says you're Natasha Vela Secor's consultant, yeah, because it's me and consultants tend to be individuals, so that's the case with Sanders, that just doesn't make sense and they continued saying like me. it was like "I think you've mixed it up a bit and I'm not the right person and they say no, we're looking for a white label, you're exactly in the target market, if I'm exactly your target market then I wouldn't recommend removing the name from the company does address coaches and consultants because many times they will be personal names, so it will not make sense in that part of the message.
Did you have the opportunity to be the night I can explain a video in the connector request, yes? I would have, I probably would have responded. I can't tell what the title request was. I wish I knew. I think it's just that this is what we do and then the next part is Become basically supercharged Nataschab in the Lusaka sales channel, Same as before. Use the company name. If you're targeting people, it's like especially trainers and consultants already make sense. Third. Are you using LinkedIn to generate leads right now? This is how I have done it.
I've had this a couple of times where people said, Hey, they're using Victor right now. A guy messaged me a couple of weeks ago and said: Hi, I'm a LinkedIn consultant and I was wondering if you have anyone in your network who would benefit from help with lead generation on this platform and I thought I do the same. same brother, why would you ask your competitor if I have clients to give you? Because I'd like to have them myself, so it's really no use. It makes sense so don't ask a stupid question like if you're going to use automation I would have liked to send long scripted messages because it will just show that you haven't taken the time to research that person because literally literally look at my header it says use it like I help these people using 10:1 check out my profile it's in my barn it's in my headline it's in my About section it's basically everywhere it's the fact that I use LinkedIn for Lijun so that doesn't really have made sense to me and then when he sent me the link, things like that, I thought, yeah, they're like the

worst

and I responded seeing that it's probably not good first.
I think you have your goal. wrong with the tool, they say no, we have a, you are exactly who we are looking for, we are looking for four white level partners and I said: if you want, if you reach out because you want to partner with me for example, if you want to do a sponsored video like LinkedIn or if they want to do some kind of promotion with you or collaborate with you in some way, then you need to make a good first impression with the product, tool or service you want. You're using if that's going to be part of how you communicate with me then why are these so bad, when it comes to the character limit with connection requests you have a 300 character limit which also includes spaces.
What I'm going to do is give you something free that is from my online course called LinkedIn Unleash. I'll give you my LinkedIn connection request template that I use myself and show it to my clients to use as Well, I'll leave a link to the Google doc in the description below. All you need to do is go to the file, make a copy, add it to your drive and then you can edit it, so I'll leave it at that. there for you, go ahead and get it. Thank you very much for watching this video. I hope to see you next time and let me know below what you think and what's the worst connection request you've ever received.
I would like to be curious. know
