I'm going to stick them aside to dry inside a foam block. While they dry, I'm going to grab those craft sticks and the sign. Now I'm going to apply these craft sticks to the top of the firm so I'm just going to mark the size with a pencil and then the size is easy to cut with scissors and now that you have this first piece ready you can use this as a template to cut out the remaining pieces and now that all of our pieces are cut we can hot glue the pieces now we just want to continue adding them all the way now if that last piece is too big all we're going to do is we're just going to mark it and cut it out to make it fit now, once all of our pieces are in place, all we're going to do is trim off any excess with a utility or x-acto knife so we can now add. our color to the wood and I'll use this Waverly antique wax or you can use diluted acrylic paint or stain now before applying.

I'm going to put some painter's tape around the edge to protect our pattern. Now you just want to start applying it. to the wood in sections now what you want to do is clean it up as you go now you want to make sure you go around those edges as well and then once that's all done you just carefully remove the tape so now I'm going to prepare my paint for the dice and I'll mix some white chalk paint with some golden yellow to get an ivory color. Now what I want to do is apply two coats of that color to the dice and I want to. let them dry completely between the two coats and here are my dice all dry, so now we can apply the letters on our sign.

Now I'm going to spell the word fall on one side of my dice and then once that's done we're going to turn them over and I'm going to put the word snow on the other side now I think this is great so we can keep them on display from fall to winter now to get that wood look, I'm going to take a little bit of that antique wax or you can use acrylic paint and I just want to apply it lightly over the dice and you want to make sure you don't saturate them, you want to blot the color with a brush to give it a good layer.
The letters now once they are all brushed on you want to make sure they dry completely so now when they dry you just need to peel off the stickers carefully and you will reveal the letters underneath and here are all the letters and the letters big. reveal and now just remove those sticks from the bottom so you can grab your stand and you can place these blocks right on top of the stand to display them and here's our final project. I think this is adorable. I love how the letters appeared on these and how much they really look like wood.
Wax is now very easy to work with and can be textured in many ways to look like wood. Then all you have to do is roll the dice when winter comes. and you have a cute snow sign, now you can personalize them however you want and make your own words, just have fun creating them. Object, we will need two foam

pumpkin

s from the dollar tree, we will also need some beads of any color and you can get them from the dollar tree, so I will start by removing the labels from the pumpkins and then I want to take a knife and carefully remove the center of each one of them and now this is optional, but I'm going to add a strip of tape inside the pumpkins along the seam for a little extra security, so now we can start adding our beads.
I want to mark the bottom center first so I know where the beads will be attached, so I go. to take my hot glue and I'm going to start applying a line of glue along the side of the pumpkin and start running the beads there and then once you get to that center point just cut the beads to the appropriate length and then I'm going to go ahead and repeat this on the other side now, then I want to continue adding the beads around the pumpkin and I'll end up with eight sections now, once the first pumpkin is done, just go ahead and repeat this for your second pumpkin , so now everything is dry, I'm going to apply a coat of chalk paint to the pumpkin and the beads.
Now I'm just going to apply a generous layer to the entire pumpkin and make sure to put them in between and underneath. you count as you go and this is what everything looks like when it's covered and just repeat this for the second one so now you want to let these dry completely so now that they're dry what I want to do is spray paint them. With this ivory spray paint, now the chalk paint provides a barrier, so you just want to lightly spray several light mists of this spray paint a few minutes apart and let them dry to avoid damaging the foam, so here There are my foam pumpkins next. an hour of drying and I'm going to start using some of this greenery on them and I'm going to start by putting some groove foam inside so that once the floral foam dries we can go ahead and start adding the selections pumpkin and any other leaves and fall decorations that you like and you can customize them according to your

home

decor and here are the pumpkins all decorated and wow I love the way these beautiful pumpkins turned out now this color combination is so warm and cozy and I love the berries and the pumpkin combination and the beaded pumpkins turned gray and they look so sophisticated now I really can't wait to display them with my thanksgiving decor for this project we'll start with these wood planks . from the dollar tree we will need one of these five gallon stir sticks and you can get them at lowe's we will need some dollar tree poster lettering stickers we will need one of these chains to hang plants from the dollar tree or we can use jute twine and we will need a dollar tree plunger.
Now we're going to start by removing four of those planks from this package. Now we're going to cut them in half, so once they're cut, we're going to end up with eight pieces, but we're only going to use seven for this project, so I'm going to spell out the word welcome, so I'm just going to apply these poster letters to these squares. of wood and I just want to make Make sure these are nice and centered now, once all the letters have been applied, we can go ahead and stain the wood. Now I am taking a cloth that is almost dry with a stain and I am applying the stain lightly to the wood that I want. make sure you don't saturate your pieces because you don't want the stain to run under your stickers and now that all the letters are stained we can go ahead and grab the handle of the plunger and we're going to remove the rubber end and we're also going to remove that sticker and then we're going to cut those threads and we want to cut the other end straight as well so that both sides are the same and now all we have to do is dye this piece and I.
I'm just going to stain it to match our lettering and you just want to let everything dry completely now once they're dry we're going to take that 5 gallon bar and I'm going to cut about 2 inches off the end and then we're going to place our pieces of wood along that paint bar now once they're placed we're going to go ahead and stagger the letters and make sure they're staggered evenly now once the placement is good we can heat up. glue each of the wooden slabs in place now, once the hot glue dries, we can carefully remove the letter stickers from those wooden pieces and now the natural color of the wood is revealed for a beautiful contrast, so now let's work on joining the chain.
To our piece now I'm going to start by separating those three chains by removing the center hook with a pair of pliers. Now you want to turn your piece over and place the end of the chain on the back of the second square. and the sixth square and then just apply a generous line of hot glue to the back of those pieces and place the chain on top of it. Now you will notice that the sign is leaning forward slightly, so to prevent it from leaning forward you want to apply a little more hot glue to the back and make sure the top edge of the chain is flat and glued in place now while that's drying you want to grab the handle of the stained plunger you want to grab some fall floral picks and you want to grab a pumpkin and this is one from the dollar tree that I cut in half you'll also need some thick jute twine so The first thing we're going to do is take our two fall picks and I want to lock them in. to the plunger handle and make sure the stems point toward the center.
You'll just use hot glue and secure each of the stems in place now to add a little fullness. I'm just going to add a few stems of these fall leaves on each end now in the center we're going to add our pumpkin we just want to place a generous amount of that hot glue in the center of the pumpkin and then press it into place and now, a once everything dries we can take our welcome sign and we can attach it to the poll now to do this I'm just going to wrap that chain around the pole a couple of times and use that clipper on the end to hold it in place just you want to make sure the chain is the same on each side now to hang the piece I will add a strand of this thick jute twine and then I will tie it on each end of the rod.
I want to put a dot of hot glue on just to keep it from sliding off the end and once everything is in place it's nice and we can even hang our sign and here it is on display okay I love it I love it I love how this turned out now. This piece was inspired by a sign I saw in a retail store. and I loved it so much I had to recreate it and I did for a fraction of the cost. Now I believe this sign will provide a warm welcome to anyone who comes to visit us for this project.
We'll start with this 1 by 2. by 8 dollar pieces of wood and I'll show you the barcode and the texture for reference. We will also use a dollar tree trash basket or you can use this gutter guard material from the

home

improvement store which is a thick plastic. mesh now we're going to start by cutting our wood to the proper size and we're going to cut six five and a quarter inch pieces and six five inch pieces so now we can protect our work surface and we're going to prepare To stain our pieces now of course I'm going to use my

favorite

minwax jacobian stain, but you can use aged wax or thinned acrylic paint to achieve that stained look.
Now for the larger pieces, we will dye all the pieces, including those. ends then once those larger pieces are dyed we can dye the smaller pieces and there will be no need to dye the ends of these as they will not be exposed in this project now once all of our pieces are dyed we can just place them. Now once these are dry we can go ahead and start assembling our boxes, so I'm going to group them with two short sticks and two long sticks together to form the box. I'm going to put in two longer sticks. at the top and bottom and then put the shorter sticks in between them and I'm going to use this dollar tree wood glue to put them together now we're just going to apply the glue to each end of those shorter sticks and then we're just going to press them together longer sticks and then I'll repeat this for the other two frames.
Now, once they are almost dry, I'll add a screw in each corner for stability and I'm just using my clamp to hold it in place. Now I'm going to start by drilling a pilot hole with a 3 32 bit.inches on my drill and I'm just going to drill a hole in the center of each corner. Now, these are going to be the screws that I'm going to use and they are number six one inch wood screws. Now I'm just going to start threading them by hand into that pilot hole and then use my drill to screw them in the rest of the way, so I'm going to repeat this for the other two frames now to cover up the exposed nail heads.
I'm going to use some simple brown acrylic paint and I'm just going to apply this. with a small Q-tip or you can use a small tipped brush, so now I'm going to take that gutter guard and I'm going to go ahead and take it out of the package and I just want to stretch it out a little bit. Now it's 6 inches wide so I'm going to place it over the frame opening and I'm going to cut it to the size that it fits and once we have that size to fit, we're just going to cut out two more pieces to fit in. the other two frames, so now we can start adhering that mesh to the frames and we can do this with hot glue, but I'm going to use my staple gun for this.
I just think it's a lot neater and easier so now we can add our fall sayings to these dollars with these dollar tree labels and I. I'm just going to use my chalk pen and write down some things that I like. You can do whatever you want, but I'm just going to write some fall sayings in this one. I'm just going to write pumpkin spice. I mean, Pumpkin Spice doesn't say fall and then on my second tag I'm going to write hello fall and the third one I can't wait for is sweater weather. Now we're going to adhere the labels to that mesh, so I'm going to do this with hot glue, so I'm just going to center that mesh, that is, center that label on the mesh where I want it and then I'm just going to apply a little bit of hot glue on the back of the labels.
Now I'm going to do this with the three labels now you can adhere them vertically or horizontally it just depends on what you like now once they are finished we can customize our frames and I'm going to put my fall decor pieces together again you can add any fall decorations you want. I only have little pumpkins and pieces of greenery to add, so I'm just going to apply my pieces with just a little bit of hot glue and decorate the inside of each of the frames now with this little greenery. piece these are hops they are very hard to find but I love them they are so beautiful and they scream they fall towards me I love them so now that this is decorated we can decorate our other two pieces and now they are all done and ready to Go and here are my little fall shadow boxes on display.
Now I think they are super cute. I really love the warm and cozy look of these pieces and they really put me in that mood, from those little logs on the fire to the cinnamon pine. Cones, these pieces will really match your fall decor perfectly. Now for this project you will need a dollar tree cake pan. You'll need one of these three packs of Dollar Tree Clip-On Pumpkins. Some lamb's ears from Walmart that was a one dollar, one stem, and two of these dollar tree candle holders, so we're going to start by applying two coats of this krylon satin white spray paint to the cake pan.
Now, once that dries, we can add our glaze accent. Now I'm going to use This black acrylic paint to do this, so we're going to apply the paint around the edge in a random pattern and then we want this to dry completely. Now I'm just going to do around my edge, I'm sure you can do the inside. or around the outside if you want, but since the edge will stick out more, I thought doing it around the edge was simplistic but beautiful, so now that it's dry I decided to add some feet to my tray, so I grabbed four of these thick woods. slices that I bought at the dollar tree now you can choose them too, just make sure they are all about the same height and completely flat and then just hot glue them in place, so now that that's done we can start decorating our tray so I'm going to start decorating by taking that lamb's ear and curving it to fit inside the tray and I'm going to do this with about three or four stems now one of my candle holders sits higher than the other and I have this little mini stand that I made a while ago with jingle blocks and I have this one that's two blocks tall and another one that's one block tall so they're good to use so you're going to add that stand you're going to add one of your candle holders in there and then you can add your candle holder on top of the stand and add your candles so now that they are in place you can start embellishing with your decor and you can start adding your pumpkins.
Here I have a fabric covered pumpkin that I made from the dollar tree item. Your clip on pumpkins, you can add berries, you can add pine cones, just do whatever you want, remember, you can add anything you want to personalize. for your space and here is this cute little decorated tray for our fall decor. Now I think it would be so beautiful as a centerpiece and these wood slices also add a unique touch to this tray. Now I'm sure where you plan to go. use this it will definitely make a statement now for this project we will need one of these plates for the dollar tree we will also need a couple of fall picks or greenery from the dollar tree and we will need a thank you sign that is available at the Dollar Tree so We will start with the tray.
I'm going to prime it with my Zincer 123 primer or you can just paint with a few coats of acrylic or chalk paint now while it dries. Go ahead and paint the thank you sign. I'm just going to start by removing all the tags and the string. Now I will use black acrylic paint to paint my sign. Now when I paint my signs, I like to start by first painting around the outside and I like to get into the lettering as well. Now once everything is covered on the outside and inside, I'm going to go ahead and paint the face of the letters and here it is all painted and now just let it sit. completely dry and now that our primer is dry we're going to apply a coat of paint and I'm going to use some white acrylic paint.
Now you can use chalk paint or any other paint of your choice. I just like acrylic because it's easier to work with. with and much smoother, so once that dries, what we're going to do is use our antique wax to apply a wood look to the edge around the tray. Now all I'm going to do is start applying that wax around the outside edge of the entire tray using a dry brushing method and creating a little bit of texture now that you're done applying, if you have any little oopsies you can go back and Clean it with a little acrylic paint and then let it dry completely.
Now, once our tray is completely dry, we can decorate it with our fall and greenery selections. Now to apply everything to the tray I'm just going to use hot glue to secure each of the picks to the top now I like to use those dollar tree clips to hold things in place while they're attaching they're super handy and then I'll take that second selection and I'm going to apply it to the opposite side of the first one and now once they're dry, I'm just going to glue on some of this fall greenery and leaves to fill in the spaces and finally I'm going to add these leaves with the bunch of Cusp-shaped berries in the middle, now of course to hang this. piece, I'm just going to turn the piece over and add a piece of jute rope with knots on the end and then apply hot glue to those knots and secure them in the center of the back of the tray and now that our sign gratitude is dry.
We can center it on our tray and all we have to do to adhere it is apply hot glue to the back and then just press it firmly into place and your sign will be complete and you can now display this beautiful piece in your home now. I love this now, these vibrant colors are amazing and it's really perfect for the fall season. They also now have a reunion and family words on the dollar tree, so it would be very easy to customize now whether you have it on a stand or hanging. on a wall, this will definitely brighten up your space for the fall season.
This project will start with a dollar tree mdf family word. We'll use a one-gallon package of paint stripping sticks from Lowe's for 98 cents and a five-gallon package of paint. bars from Lowe's for 98 cents too, now we are going to start by preparing our paint bars and we will need two of the five gallon bars and we will use nine of the one gallon bars, just pack those bars up and we can start marking our cut lines, so we want to take the five gallon rods and we want to measure and mark a length of 17 inches and then you want to take the one gallon rods and you want to mark a pointed top and I just hand it over.
I drew this one and once I did I took them outside to cut them with my saw and here are all my pieces cut to size so now we can get ready to dye and I'm going to gather my supplies so I'm going to use them. my

favorite

minwax jacobian stain now, if you don't want to use stain you can also use antique wax or even thinned acrylic paint to achieve the look. Now these sticks have one printed side and one blank side, so make sure to apply the dye. the blank side and then I just want to proceed to dye all the bars and you want to make sure you cover the edges and all the ends and then once you're done with all the gallon bars, go ahead and do the same thing. five gallon sticks that also cover the blank side and the sides and ends.
Now, once everything is covered, we can work on the family words. Now we want to start by removing the cord hanging on the back and all the tags. Now we will be. By painting the word with this cobalt blue acrylic paint, now we want to start by applying that paint around the edges and curves first and once all the inside and outside edges are covered, we can go ahead and paint the face of the letters and that's it like it should look like this once it dries, what I'm going to do is take some acrylic paint and I'm going to outline the letters.
Once I started doing the outlining, I found that it came out a little uneven to apply with a brush, so what I did was grab my chalk pen to finish the outlining. Now you can use a paint pen too to achieve this look and here is the full outline. This will help it stand out. on those dye bars and now that those bars are dry we can go ahead and take our grid mat and we're going to start placing the bars, so we're going to place those two five gallon bars horizontally and we want to place them about six inches apart. away and then we're going to place those gallon sticks vertically on top and we want to make sure they're spaced about an inch apart.
Now I'm going to use this wood glue from Dollar Tree to join them together. instead you just want to apply a little bit under each bar and you want to press it into place and you want to make sure it's even on the bottom and just repeat this for the rest of the bars now after sitting for about 10 minutes, I can go ahead and flip our piece over and what I'm going to do is add a staple to each stick and this will add a little bit of extra security and now your base is complete so now we can continue adding our family sign.
Now, to make sure we stick it evenly, I'm going to use a piece of painter's tape on the bottom of the word and then I want to take note of which letters overlap on a stick and I'm going to flip it over. and add hot glue to the back of the non-tapping letters. You can hang this piece quite easily after doing this now. To hang it we will use thick jute twine, so now I want to cut a piece about three to four inches long. I'm just going to apply these to the second stick on each end and I want to wrap the thread and I want to apply hot glue to each end.
Once both are in place, we'll apply a little more hot glue. over those ends for a little extra security now once they are completely dry we can decorate our sign. Now I'm going to use these fall picks that I got from the dollar tree and place them at the bottom of my sign now. I also want to decorate this sign and I'm also going to use some burlap ribbon and I'm going to make a bow, so I'm going to cut a piece about five to six inches long when the two sides are folded down and I'm going to make a second one. piece the same way, so I'm going to take a piece of twine and tie them together, so I'm just going to fan fold those two pieces of ribbon that I cut, lay them next to each other and then tie them with that twine and then I'm going to take another piece of that burlap ribbon and I'm going to fold it in half and I want to tie it at the bottom of my bow and these will be the tails of the ribbon. and once everything is tied in place, we can go ahead and trim the bottom of that ribbon and adjustthe loop.
Now I wanted to add a touch of green to the border, so I took some of these dollar tree flowers and cut them out. a couple of these hop branches and now we can hot glue the edge to the bottom so I took both photos and added them in the middle with hot glue and then added a branch of those hops to each side and finally you can cut out take it out with your bow now you can add any color bow you want, you don't have to have a bow you can add more green pine cones it's up to you and now you can hang your creation.
I love how beautiful this sign is. It looks like I've been working with this beautiful cobalt color this summer and it really inspired me to transition this color into fall and I'm so happy with how it turned out and look at these photos at Dollar Tree, there's some great quality this year. and together with wood and burlap make this a fabulous display for your home. Now for this project we will need one of these dollar tree care signs, this dollar tree house sign and one of these pumpkins from this hanging decoration or half of a foam pumpkin, now I'm going to start by removing the string that hangs and all the labels on my sign.
Now I'm going to use this white chalk paint to paint this and you just want to apply one coat to the back of that sign now you don't want to forget about the sides as well and then we're going to set this aside to dry completely so let's Let's go ahead and grab that side of the house now and we want to separate it carefully. those letters and this can be done by just separating them now if any of the letters have nails sticking out we can just trim them flush with a pair of wire scissors and we'll set them aside now that I'm What I'm going to do is apply a coat of that chalk paint to the other letters and I'm also going to apply a coat of that chalk paint to that pumpkin that I'm going to use now once those letters are dry.
I'm going to apply a coat of acrylic paint. Now you can also use chalk paint but I prefer the smooth acrylic for my final coat and now that our board is dry we can add a textured finish. Now I'm going to use this Waverly aged wax to do this. Now we want to apply this aged wax in one direction and we want to go the entire length. the board and this would appear to have a kind of wood grain now as you work you can manipulate the pattern by adding knots and playing with that texture so it looks more and more like wood and this is what it looks like when it's all applied like this which now that it's nice and dry we can add the lines to the board so I'm just going to use my marker and grab something with a ruler to make my lines and here's a close up of what it's going to look like when it's done now that my letters are dry , I'm going to outline the edges with this black acrylic paint, now I'm going to place my letters face down and hold them in place and then I want to start painting around the edges all the way around so when I'm done the paint runs off lightly over the edges and give it this nice aged look and then when I repeat this for the other letters, you just want them to stay out. to dry so now I'm going to take that pumpkin and I want to customize the paint so I'm going to start by mixing a little bit of this orange harvest and I'm going to add a little bit of this golden yellow to and I'm going to mix it well now I want to apply two coats of this paint to my pumpkin now when you apply it you want to make sure you let it dry between coats to prevent it from cracking so now that it's all dry what I'm going to do is highlight it with a little bit of this golden yellow and this will start to add texture to our pumpkin, so I'm just going to dry brush it with a brush.
Nice chip brush and the next color I'm going to add is this nice red and what I'm going to do is highlight the top and bottom and also get into those creases and that makes them pop really well. I'm going to apply a little more of that red with a dry brush just to give it a little more dimension. Now once that dries, we can seal everything with a little bit of this matte mod podge and now that that mod podge has sealed everything. We can work on the backing, but first before we add it we want to add some of these magnetic buttons on the inside, so I'm just going to remove a little bit of that styrofoam from the inside of the pumpkin with a pair of scissors and then I'm going to place one of the buttons inside, you're just going to apply a little bit of hot glue and stick that magnet right in the center, so I'm also going to add a wooden stem on top and I'm just going to stick this in place with hot glue and now all you have to do is add a little hot glue around the surface of the back of the pumpkin and then press it against the craft paper backing, so now all you have to do is take your x- Act with a knife and cut off all the excess craft paper now to decorate this.
I'm just going to take a strip of denim that I had and I'm going to tie it in a little bow and I'm going to cut it out. and I want to hot glue it to the base of that stem and here what it looked like so now I'm just grabbing my board and I want to grab all my letters and my pumpkin to put my sign together now I'm just I'm going to place everything on the board so look nice It's just a good idea of where you want to put everything before you glue it all together and once it's in place just go ahead and apply hot glue to the back of all the letters. and just secure them in place now to attach the pumpkin that you want to grab on the other side of that magnet piece and you want to put some hot glue on top of that magnet piece and apply it to the top of the board where you would. like your pumpkin and when it dries you will see the magnet stick to the board and now your pumpkin will stay securely in place.
Now I wanted to add one of these metal sheets from another free pumpkin I had so I just inserted the wire and placed it on the pumpkin and this is what it looks like now, y'all know I loved the finished look so I'm going to cover the back of my sign with some craft paper. Now I'm just going to use a little bit of hot glue and I'm just going to go around the edges and I want to apply that paper all over the back covering that, careful and then I'm going to turn it over and what I want to do is take my x- knife or a utility knife and you can cut off all the excess paper and now all you have to do is add some jute twine on top and all I'm going to do to secure it is when I put it through the holes.
I'm just going to tie a little knot in the front of the board just to secure it in place and then cut all those tails off and here's the house sign on display. I really love how this one turned out now, this faux wood. The grain really turned out great and I'm really impressed with the Waverly old fashioned wax and how it works and I think this pumpkin looks super cute and I'm excited to use this sign all year round just making a few different replacements for the o like They are now available at the stores for this project.
We will need three pumpkin prints in graduated sizes and they are available to print in the description box below. You'll also need a piece of foam board, the first thing we want to do. is to print and cut out those three sizes of pumpkins and set them aside, then we want to place the cutouts on that foam board and we just want to trace each one of them now, once they're all nice and traced, we're just going to move on. and cut them with an exact knife, so now we are going to determine the placement of the pumpkins and once you place yours as shown, what you want to do is trace the outlines of those pumpkins so that you remember the placement after you paint them and now We're going to get ready to paint, so for the big pumpkin I'm going to use this harvest orange paint.
Now you want to apply two coats but you want to let them dry completely between coats. Now you just need to paint the areas that are left exposed after the other pumpkins have been layered, so you don't need to paint everything if your lines go and mark that area, so now here I'm adding a little bit of brown to my palette and I'm adding a little outline to my pumpkin and once I do that, I'm just going to give it a touch of that golden yellow just to highlight. Now my medium pumpkin is going to be white, so I'm just going to cover it with this white acrylic paint and then.
I'm going to take a little bit of this pavement gray and then I'm going to mix it with a little bit of white and add outline to the pumpkin. Now for my third pumpkin, I wanted to use blue, so I'm using this admiral blue color for this. one now for the outline, I'm just going to add a touch of white to that blue and use that to outline the lines of this pumpkin now, once they're all dry, now we're going to add some twine to the stems. All I'm going to do is apply some hot glue to the pumpkin and I'm going to start wrapping the twine around the stem until it's completely covered and here are all of my pumpkins covered in twine so now it's time to put them all together.
These together, so we'll use those pencil lines that we made earlier and apply hot glue and press the pumpkins into place now as the small pumpkin will sit on top of the middle pumpkin and create a gap. so I'm just going to add some burnt board pieces, the leftover foam board pieces to fill that space and then I'm going to add that little pumpkin on top and secure it in place so now it's time to decorate them so what I'm going to do? What I have to do is simply add a leaf to each of the pumpkins.
I got this from a dollar tree bundle, it was scrap metal, so I'm putting it to good use now. I also wanted to add this forward and I thought about painting it green or maybe even orange, but for this project I left it natural metal since it really looked cool in that blue, so I'm just going to apply a little hot glue on the back and I'm going to apply to the pumpkins now to hang this I'm just going to hot glue a piece of knotted twine to the back and there you have it a beautiful group of pumpkins to add to your decor now either May it be a grateful harvest, welcome these pumpkins.
Be a great piece to welcome visitors to your home. Now for this project we will be using a 1 by 2 by 8 piece of wood from Home Depot for $18. I'm just showing you a final piece with the barcode. So you can see what I'm using, we're also going to use this dollar tree picking sign and we're going to use a dollar tree wire basket, so the first thing we're going to do is cut our eight feet. In addition to a piece of wood for your frame, we will now have two 22-inch and two 12-inch pieces and we'll fine-tune it a little later, so now we're going to go ahead and stain all of our pieces for our frame. and we're going to use that Jacobian stain and we're going to go ahead and choose the good side of our wood and we're going to start staining the long pieces on the fronts and the sides and the ends now for the short pieces.
We just need to do the fronts and sides since the ends won't be showing in this project and here it's all dyed and we can sit it out to dry, so while that's drying we're going to go ahead and take our waste away. basket and I'm going to remove the labels and then I'm going to take a pair of wire snips and I want to remove the top edge of the basket. Now you want to make sure you cut as close to that top edge as possible. possible and then we're going to do the same thing on the bottom edge and now that both ends are removed, we're locating the center seam of that basket and that's where we're going to cut our basket now once it's cut. aside you want to manipulate and stretch the basket, you want to stretch that wire into a flat, uniform rectangular shape and here it is and now that we have our shape, we're going to take our pieces of wood and place them on top.
For a test fit now, after having everything in place, this is where I realized that the side pieces will need to be trimmed a little, so I measured and marked those side pieces and trimmed them from 12 inches to eight inches and middle and Here they are all clipped into place and I'm just doing one more test to make sure everything is right, so now we can assemble our frame. Now we want to make sure the stained side is facing down. Now I go. I'm going to use this dollar tree wood glue for this project, so I'm going to apply the glue to each end of the short pieces and then I want to apply those short pieces between the two longer pieces and then I'm going to secure it with four or five staples to along the seam.
I will now repeat this process for the other three sides of the frame. Now, once the frame is all stapled, you can apply pressure clamps if you wish to each end. and then just wipe the glue off of those seams that may have spilled as it dries, we're going to work on the gathered side, so we're going to paint it with this black acrylic paint, so you just want to remove all the hang tags and you want to apply a good coat that black acrylic paint on the front and sides of the sign. Now I am really impressed with the quality of these signs, they areA really resistant MDF material and they take paint very well. once it's completely painted set it aside to dry so now our frame is dry and we can start adding our basket wire so we'll just put that wire on the back of the frame and get started. to tighten it and apply staples around that wire on the frame.
Now this wire is very forgiving and can be adjusted very easily so you can just go around the frame and apply staples where needed and once our wire is nice and secure we can finally add our pickup sign to the frame so to hold it down I'm going to cut the string hanging on the back in half and once we have it nice and centered, I'm going to run that string through the back where it falls over that wire and then I'm going to hold that sign in place while I flip the frame over to the back, so once we do that, we're just going to take that rope and we're going to wire it through.
Now you can glue this on too, but I wanted this sign to be interchangeable, which is why I chose to tie it. All you have to do is trim those tails down and flip the frame back. It's done and you see your final look and now we can put the sign on display. How nice it turned out. Now these new dollar tree signs are great quality and really look high end when painted. I'm very happy. I found them on my dollar tree and I hope you have the opportunity to find them too. I had a lot of fun with these projects today.
