worst

Mac books of the last

decade

, starting this list. with the number 5 we have the 2017 MacBook Pro function keys, this was the entry level model that was designed to undercut the more expensive Touch Bar setups in 2016 and 17 and while many people certainly appreciated a MacBook Pro that didn't have the twist except almost everything else sucked to begin with, it was stagnant for too long, it was introduced in 2017 and was only replaced in July by this and that, the whole time it was ridiculously underpowered, a dual core i5, eight gigs of RAM and 128 gigabytes.

SSD, even when new, those specs were pretty terrible, even worse than the poor performance, its terrible reliability issues, as it had the 2017 revision of the butterfly keyboard which, while not as bad as the original, crashed everything time and On top of that, it also had the Flex door problem, so people's screens and keyboards were breaking simultaneously. Next up at number four is the 2018 MacBook Pro with the core i9. Don't get me wrong, the 2018 MacBook Pro was a significant upgrade. It was the first increase in the number of cuts for the 15-inch MacBook Pro since 2011. It also brought improvements to the butterfly keyboard and DDR4 RAM and, for the first time, the ability to equip 32 GB of RAM in a MacBook, but The other thing it brought was thermal throttling, this generation's MacBook Pro wasn't particularly good when it came to temperatures anyway and sticking a 6-core i9 at 2.9 gigahertz didn't help at all, Almost immediately people started noticing that their 2018 MacBook Pros were basically a flat-top grill, they burned people's laps, you could fry an egg on them, and they revved like crazy.

Apple was able to control this with some software updates that modify the fan curve and CPU undervoltage. but the damage was already done and there's really not much you can do to save a chassis that simply wasn't built for a 6 or 8 core i9. Number 3 is the 15-inch MacBook Pro from 2016, this was a new generation for Apple, but it also brought a lot of problems compared to the original retina MacBook Pro, we gave up literally all ports in favor of Thunderbolt 3, we also gave up the ability to upgrade the SSD in favor of soldered SSDs, which We are still stuck and also chose the butterfly keyboard, which was terrible.
The 2016 MacBook Pro, one of which I used to have, was atrociously unreliable and also had pretty bad cooling. Next up at number 2 is the 2015 MacBook retina. It was a very important computer, it actually established the design language that Mac books have been using ever since, but it also introduced a significantly less beneficial aspect and that is the keyboard. butterfly Honestly, the butterfly keyboard ruined many perfectly good Macs. books and for that you can thank the original 12-inch Retina MacBook for achieving this super slim fanless design, Apple had to shave a couple of millimeters off the keyboard, which led to the very thin keyboard being very uncomfortable to type on a butterfly keyboard and, honestly, the The rest is history, let's move on to number one, the unibody 15-inch MacBook Pro from 2011.
Now I know what you're thinking. The ZAR unibody is good, it has many ports and you have many upgrade possibilities. These things are good. but the 2011 15-inch model was non-C about two years after the 2011 MacBook Pro came out, conveniently just as people's warranties were running out, people started noticing strange issues, the screen was going crazy , suddenly his computer was not working properly and was displaying strange artifacts and it turned out that this was Apple's worst case yet of severe graphics card failure. The AMD 6000 series graphics that were introduced in the 2011 MacBook Pro and later made their way to the Mac Mini and even the IMAX were death traps.
It started crashing left and right, and by far the most affected were the 15-inch MacBook Pros. Apple launched a replacement program to address this issue where they would replace your computer's logic board for free up to four years after the device was manufactured. but the problem was they were replacing these faulty logic boards with logic boards that also had faulty AMD graphics so it happened over and over again until they ran out of program and then you were stuck with a dead laptop, no cost . -One effective way to fix this problem and all of these computers will eventually fail and that's why the 2011 15-inch MacBook Pro takes the number one spot for the worst MacBooks of the

decade

, now that we've reviewed the worst Mac books. of this decade, let's talk about the

best

thing that ranks number 5 is the 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro retina.
This is probably one of the most popular MacBook Pros around the world. These things are everywhere and for good reason the 2015 13-inch model was the last. from the original generation of the macbook pro retina and it has a lot to offer, it has the famous and fantastic scissor switch keyboard, it has many ports, it even has a Apple Force Touch trackpad which has been very well received and it has a glorious Retina display, for what it is It's no surprise that this is a fantastic and very popular MacBook Pro and in fact it holds a special place in my heart because my 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro retina was the computer I used to start this YouTube channel in 2015, ranking number 4. the mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro, the unibody, not the Retina, this was the last 13-inch unibody MacBook Pro and it was also the best.
These guys are probably almost as ubiquitous as they were in 2015, although they're starting to age a bit now. Fun fact: Apple sold this new computer for four years, it was introduced in mid-2012 and didn't continue until 2016. These things are famous for their reliability, will continue to work forever and ever, and are incredibly usable. Everything from the screen, keyboard, trackpad, and battery to the RAM and storage can be repaired and upgraded on these machines, meaning there's almost endless customization you can do to them; You can even take out the DVD drive and insert a second SSD and it has zero raid SSD for really crazy read/write speeds, no wonder these things are a staple of coffee shops around the world, even seven years later Since they were announced, taking the number three spot, similarly is the 15-inch model from mid-2012.
MacBook Pro unibody, this type offers many of the same benefits of user-friendliness and upgradeability as the 13 inch, but it has more powerful quad core processors and dedicated graphics, even seven years later these guys are still great used computers and you can put 16 gigs of raid zero SSD ram and you have a really fantastic and very high capacity machine, You can even swap out the 1440 by 900 display for a higher resolution matte finish display that, honestly, still looks great to this day. These 2012s are loved by professionals and many. I still use them to this day, even seven years after hitting number two, it's a late entry, the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, this is the best value Apple has offered in years, the base model is finally coming with half a terabyte of storage we have. finally got six and eight core processors, adequate cooling, fantastic graphics that even rival IMAX.
The new IMAX is hard to believe, and of course it's the first computer to ditch the butterfly keyboard since 2015 and finally return to something that works with the keyboard's scissor switch. It's fantastic and for the first time since the 17-inch model was discontinued in 2012, we have a larger than 15-inch screen on a MacBook. Now I'm sure this MacBook Pro has some downsides - we're still limited to four Thunderbolt 3 ports and there's no upgradeability, the RAM and SSD are soldered in there - but other than that, everything about this MacBook Pro is better and it doesn't. entails a price increase.
You have to remember that when the 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina display came out it had a $400 price increase over the unibody models and they had the same specs - it's crazy and now it's finally time to reveal the best MacBook of the decade and It is the mid 2015 15 inch macbook pro retina, this was the last of the original retina. MacBook Pros before the Touch Bar generation came out and arguably ruined things for at least a couple of years. The 2015 is overall fantastic, it has a reliable scissor switch keyboard, all the ports you would need including HDMI, USB a and an SD card slot please.
I want the SD card slot back, it has a sharp and bright Retina display, fast SSDs that could be upgraded after the fact that I have a one terabyte drive in this one, it's only a hundred bucks. They also come with quad-core Haswell i7s that hold up to this day and come with very capable Radeon m37 TX graphics with 2 gigs of VRAM on the high-end models. These 2015 models remain popular to this day among professionals. They have all the ports they need. They have a great keyboard. decent cooling and plenty of power to keep up with professional tasks, these things are great for a web design, music production, content creation, video editing, photo editing, a lot of tasks, these things are great and, As a bonus, you can get them with dual graphics. for easily under $1000 these days which is a great deal and that's why the mid 2015 15 inch dual graphics macbook pro is the best macbook of this decade so thank you all so much for tuning in macbook of the decade awards 2019.
