May 30, 2021
Hello everyone, welcome to see the data in the points. Do any of you remember the

beautiful

big

basket

from last year, of course many of you made a lot of these. Me too, it was a great way to use up the yarn they already had. On the one hand, especially all those bright and varied colors that tend to accumulate in our collection but do not get used to much. Baskets are super useful, but they don't necessarily have to be big, so we have created the

beautiful

baby

basket

, this small and sweet one. It's the little brother or sister to our beautiful original large basket and is the perfect size to sit on a shelf or on your desk to handle all those little details that tend to accumulate, especially when you do a deep clean around the house, this adorable little thing It's made using the same type of technique we did with the big beautiful basket, so it's three strands of yarn tied together, you can use whatever colors you want, no matter how you put them together, they always look great.

I made one. using variegated and made one that had three strands of the same color. I love both. They are not a very large project, so they don't take up as much yarn as the big beautiful basket. This is perfect for using the thread. that you already have on hand, you can use all acrylic, all cotton, all wool, or all blended yarns, but whichever three yarns you use, make sure they are the same fiber in case you have to wash them to match well. together. What is a

baby

? beautiful basket, good for random prep supplies, they tend to clutter up on the craft table, you can keep them all in here and that can sit in the corner and it will look nice, neat and tidy, small toys, lego bricks, those little objects collectibles, cards. any kind of extra pieces that come out of Oh's board games or things you find after you've cleaned up and need a quick little place to put them, have a couple of these in the family room also made of cotton, this would be so cute in a new nursery with little rolled up claws or baby socks stuffed inside.

We will hold three strands of thread tied together throughout so you will need about a hundred yards per strand. Today I'm using a medium weight acrylic yarn, but you can use cotton or wool or mix whatever you want, as long as each of your strands is the same fiber and you now have one hundred yards per strand. I'm going to demonstrate a solid color basket, so I have a very large ball of yarn here and I've divided a hundred yards into a separate ball which is yarn number one and then I'm going to pull from the inside. and the outside of the original large ball four strands two and three you can use three separate balls that are all the same color or I'm doing it, if you have a very large one you also want a pair of scissors and a thread needle You may want a stitch marker or a clip for the first stitch of the row we are going to work in the round, so sometimes it is useful to keep track and the hook we are using is eight millimeters, also known as L or eleven in the US .US, size zero in the UK and once you have it together we can start if you really enjoy our show and have a lot of fun with us here then consider supporting us you can subscribe click. the Like button share our videos with your friends or you can purchase a

You will find more information in the description box below, links to our Etsy shop and also how to join and there For more information, if you click the join button below this browser, we will keep all three threads together throughout this project and we will start with a one inch circle, so treat the three threads as if they were one thick thread. and once you've chained one to secure that circle of cinch, you'll work eight single

crochet

s into that circle, so holding three strands of yarn together at the same time may take a little getting used to, but you should try not to. skip any of your strands, so take your time and remember that you're working over those short tails because that's how we close our circle when we're done and you'll want eight of these once you have eight single

crochet

s worked into that cinch circle.
You are going to grab those short tails, make sure you have them at three and tighten the circle well. Now you can leave those tails back and work on them later or should I say weave them later or you can. work on them as you go and that's what I'm going to do, we're going to work in the round so we don't join our rows together as we go and that means we're not chaining one to start each row so we're just working straight on the first stitch of the previous row every time we start a row, so on row 1, stitch 1, we're going to start row 2, stitch 1 in the same place, so make sure to place the hook under everyone.
I'm going to work those loops on top of my short tails here and you're going to single crochet that stitch twice, so single crochet that first stitch now before continuing if you're having trouble following the first stitch. of each row, this is where you can place a little clip or stitch marker on the first stitch you made, which is the first stitch of row 2, and that way when you come back, you'll know that you've completed row 2 to the rest of row 2 you are going to work two single crochets in each of those points at the end of row 2 you will have 16 stitches all around, there are two single crochets worked in each point of the previous row you have 16 points your last stitch and Of course, there are two of them worked on the last row, but just against the first stitch you marked so you know you've finished your row, we have 16 stitches at the end of row 2, let's continue. increase now for row 3, so in the next stitch, which is the first row of row 2, for the first stitch of row 2, so we're working the first stitch of row 3 into it, you're going to work to make a single crochet. that stitch is a single crochet before you go ahead and go ahead and mark that first stitch, which is the first stitch of row 3, so you know where you are when you come back to it, so it's a single crochet in the first stitch, a single crochet low once inside. the next stitch and that is the little repeater all the way around to make a single crochet in the next stitch.
Make sure you have all those loops and a single crochet once in the stitch after that, so two, one, two, one, two, one all the way around at the end of Row Three you will have 24 stitches, there we are last point attached to the first so I can take out my little paper clip. We're still ramping up for row four. We're going to start at the first point of what was row three two. single crochet in the first or next stitch, this starts row four with single crochet there and before you leave, you can take your stitch marker or your clip and just mark the first stitch that you made and then we continue with the increasing pattern that we are going to do. work a single crochet in each of the next two stitches and then repeat two one one two one one all the way around and at the end of the fourth row we will have up to 32 stitches at the end of the fourth row it should have 32 stitches and take out our little clip we have one more row of increases to do now and we are going to start on what was the first stitch of row four so this is where we start the row v rho v start with two single crochets worked in the next stitch before you go , you can put that little stitch marker in or clip it back into what was kind of row v stitch number one and then we continue with our increasing pattern, so that it's two single crochets in the next stitch, one single crochet once in each one. of the next three stitches and then repeat two single crochets in the next stitch single crochets in each of the next three stitches or two one one one two one one one worked all the way around and at the end of row five we will have 40 stitches at the end. end of row five you should have 40 stitches you can pick up your stitch marker now and now let's go to that's the bottom, that's all the increase we're going to do, but we want to even out the outside edge of our little circle to line up where Row 1 becomes Row 2, so we'll only single crochet once in each of the next five stitches.
This is not going to change the number of points, so we have five low points that raise us. to line up with that little bump where row one becomes row two and now we're going to close the bottom of the basket, so you're just going to slip the stitch into the next stitch, we're closing row 5 and now we're going to make a row of posts, so what we want to do is push out the bottom of the basket, so I have my other one here, you have this nice little flat bottom, so working around the posts you will get a nice little flat bottom This looks like a lot of jelly beans.
I love this basket. We're working around the outside post, so we're going to chain one to start row six and in the same spot, so if you stand up, you'll see. where you do the slip stitch there is a little hole there you're going to take the hook that's coming from the back so you're going to insert it from back to front instead of front to back like we normally do and then you're going to take your hook and you're going to push it through the next point that makes the little post appear on your hook and now you're going to make a single crochet, this is always the first one, it's always a bit of fun, so take your time very slowly so that I've done, you've raised a boot, make a loop around that post and now you can make a single crochet so that the first one is always a little stiff.
Let's do some more together, so we're working a single crochet around each back post. All the way around you will still have 40 stitches, so at the next stitch you take the hook, go from back to front, under the stitch from back to front and then from front to back to the next one that lifts the post. on your hook, pull the yarn over very gently back through the second one is always a little easier and then single crochet one more time, we go from under the next stitch out through the stitch after that, back forward and then back and forth. a loop, very slowly pull it up and then make a single crochet, so it will take a little time to get used to, it will speed up a little as you go, but take your time, there is no rush, what we are doing here is create. this really nice flat bottom effect with the actual seams running along the bottom of our little basket, so just think back to front and then front to back and then pull up a loop, there we go nice and slow, make sure you have some slack. your yarn and single crochet just take your time to work around the entire bottom of the basket so that your next stitch always starts in the same loop or the same stitch that you went from front to back so that from back to front , from front to back, the pole appears. top a loop and a single crochet and you'll see, so I came back.
I went back to front, front to back, this way, so we start on this one and we go back to the front and then front to back to the next one and that's how you work around the back of a pole and you're working in the round and you get this really awesome flattening effect. Your 40th stitch will be far from the first stitch you made, it will be separated by the small fall stitch. This is what was created when we did a slip stitch to finish the row and the little chain that helped us create the first single crochet around the post, so I'm going to pull this back here so that will be the fall stitch , there is the chain, this is the first.
Real stitch now, if you were still marking your rows with your little stitch marker, then you would have your little stitch marker here, but in case you're not using the stitch marker, you can see that's the fake stitch, there it is chain. that's your first real stitch, so we're going to skip the false stitch, we're going to skip the chain and we're not going to join, now we're going to start working directly on the first stitch of the previous row and work again. In the round, this is the first stitch of row seven, so row six was our single crochet around the back post row.
We have this nice flat bottom, now you can sit it down and you can see that little edge appearing. around you it looks so pretty, I love it and now all you're going to do is make a pointLow in each stitch all the way around if you want to keep moving your stitch marker past the first stitch of each row as you go. you can keep track, then go ahead and continue using your stitch marker. You can also count each row has 40 stitches, so row 6, our next row had 40 stitches, rows 7 onwards we will have 40 stitches. We are going to work single crochets in each stitch until we reach the end of row 16, so from row 7 where we are now until row 16 you are only going to work single crochets. each stitch around so you can turn off your brain, put your feet up and just crochet for a while once you've completed row 16 and can count so here's that little Ridge row we created the back post row that wood is row six, so you have 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 and 16 and my The last point is lined up with that little bump where row 6 becomes row 7 or maybe you've been keeping track with your little one point marker.
Now we're going to break out for our handles, so we build the handles right into our little baby baskets and we're just going to put them on either side of the top of our basket, so here we go, we're going to single crochet into each one. of the next seven stitches, so there's the first stitch done from row 17. mark it so it's easier to keep track, so that's stitch 1 from row 17 and now I want to complete those 7, those first seven single crochets, there are the first 7 single crochets of row 17, now we are going to chain 6, very good, six chains. let's skip 6 stitches 1 2 3 4 5 6 there's the seventh stitch, we're going to make a single crochet in the next stitch, so skip 6 stitches in a single crochet in the next stitch, that's what creates your little space for the handle and now you.
We're going to make single crochets in each of the next 13 stitches, so just to recap, we change 6, we skip 6 single crochets in the next 14 stitches total, from 1 to 14 and now we're going to make the second handle, so let's chain 6 again, there's six, I don't want to twist our chain, we're going to skip six one, two, three, four, five, six and a single crochet in the next stitch that creates our second space for the handle and now you can simply make a single crochet in the remaining six stitches. of that row, so row seventeen and then, of course, that takes us back to the beginning where our little marker is.
We have two more rows left in our little basket and all we're going to do is single crochet in each stitch and chain for row 18 and each stitch for row 19, so you're going to start by crocheting single crochets in those first seven stitches again and you'll I'll reach when you get to those first chains, remember that you have There are six chains that you need to make sure you do a single crochet in, so after I've done a single crochet in the last single crochet, I like to lower my chains and work under the two top loops so you only have one loop under the bottom.
So when I say two top loops I mean the chain stitch, not those individual yarn loops, so make sure you have the two top stitch loops on top of you and just make a single crochet in each of those six chains in the top of that first handle. So that's the sixth one and so you can see what it looks like when you get to it, so there's the sixth chain worked and that's the first real stitch after the handle of my little basket and sometimes it looks a little weird, like this Make sure you understand it. that stitch and then you work those 14 actual stitches that take you back to the second chain, second handle and you want to make sure you make a single crochet in each of those six chains, so row 18 is done and now you can see our actual handles They have a nice row of stitches on top of them, now all we have to do is finish another row of single crochets, this is row 19, you're just going to single crochet each stitch around you. you have 40 stitches in each row and we're basically firming up those little handles so single crochet in each stitch all the way around, that's rule 19 and that's the basket at the end of row 19 so you still have 40 points, now you're good. two defined handles we're going to close row 19 with a slipped seam in the next stitch to join, there we go, you can trim the three threads, bind off, pull this nice and tight and now you can grab the thread needle and it's useful Have a wool needle with an eye large enough so that you can insert three threads at the same time.
If you don't have a yarn needle with a large eye, you can always make them one small thread at a time. I'm going to bring My yarn through the next stitch to the inside, so pull it nice and tight and that just finishes off that little edge and then I'll continue to weave my tails under some of those stitches in row 19 so I can pull. each of those strands individually and that makes sure they're all tucked in and neat, then I'm going to back fold, so I'm going to jump back over a single loop and back fold through some of those stitches, there's two of them and my third thread, come on, come on, we try to make them all a little uniform and fold back, you know, I may have to squeeze a little to get them all to come out the other side, there we go, but I can pull back, make sure I haven't pulled out nothing misaligned well, obviously I don't have enough to go back a third time, but this is pretty tight and not a very slippery thread so I'm not worried about it coming undone and there we are.
OMG this is such a cute little basket and there you have a beautiful baby basket that doesn't take long to make, doesn't require as much wool and are super useful for almost anywhere and for anyone, like me.
