Aintree Grand National Festival | Day 2 | Horse Racing Tips | In The Know

Apr 14, 2023
they haven't said much but you

know

zenta sharjah um samoa everyone is running big races today why don't you feel like strength? Just think, just think he's the archetypal. I thought he had a very difficult career. I thought he ended up on his feet because they put him so far away. eh, he was quite enthusiastic. I thought that in the early stages he jumped perfectly. I just think he's the one that out of all the guys out there I think he's the least likely to run his race I mean I think you just don't

know

of course you don't know but the Star stage had a difficult race and we all saw what happened to him.

I think I think the way I look at it is always trying to figure out which

horse

is tired you know I mean those two mile races you know he goes in that good but you don't really have the race that hard because they are only running for a few furlongs but Braun was running and was on his feet at the end of the three miles with Chase remaining and some soft ground so I don't know if he's the one I'd want to price up for sure I think. it's uh alarm it's the news but i like a complete stranger like a

horse

it's a

national

horse of the future for sure ok oh here we go so uh Joe Columbia four to five here uh David uh why do we have that price increase anything else to add to the mix no not really I think it's been said I think he's the best horse in the race um I don't know if the form of the Nickels Runners today would be of any concern I mean stage style ok hit and the mayor on the bumper was also hit for a long time but uh completely unknown i mean galia deleto she in turn got hit well by two of these in isaac brown i think i think it all comes down a bit. like today with bambridge i think it all comes down to the obvious and that obvious is jerry colombo ok here we go um fate rings he's galilated a bit fully known for 13 file lengths why double the price?

Yeah I think that's a is a fair question again maybe maybe innovative she definitely wants bad ground as bad as you can get I think um I think Dan Skelton said that too so yeah you know I mean you know I think it could be taken out because she retired yeah I was about to say that time yeah I just guess it's frustrating when you have a horse like this you think there will be plenty of opportunities for him but this season he doesn't meet Network yeah yeah a stranger huh winter and spring with me yeah yeah actually ok so um angles on early skills yeah yeah you know I probably won't bet on a race but if there's a danger to the favorite who doesn't like the floor, would do it.

I know completely unknown to me okay and Tom yeah well I would like to have Jerry Colombo in it because I think he's a really good horse I think he's a golden cutting horse without a shadow of a doubt huh I'm not sure it's gallop and sean's class day but i think you can finish off the rest of them for sure so i'd like him to win completely unknown is the danger ok um pretty fancy brawn but always they're in the back of my mind every time tom you totally dismiss it too i guess i guess well you know we'll see and then it turned out to be right so that's fair enough david what about you? five to four of course for the duration of the show and yes I think the favorite will win ok let's move to the 220 in the day entry two and a half miles the distance for this handicap hurdle 22 of them running and some old friends in here actually with various bits and pieces of Chelten's shape represented of course we have the coral cup represented by the likes of Campground and at a good risk at all and Captain Conby uh we also have the Martin Piper there with um with Buddy one and not ordinary Joe huh Harry Durham could be a big day for him with darje darjeanini huh lots of other interesting horses but it's five to one caravan on Dodge Journey eight to one Fen through tens but won tens No Ordinary Joe spins good risk on all 11s Captain Combi 11's playful saint has 14-1 and then higher prices the rest many others get in on this on good Nick too Jungle Jack forever Donald McCain is a 20 shot at 1 could have a squeak Nelson seems very handicapped Arbor Lake for the casual and King so there are a lot of horses here with a chance uh normally he would come to uh uh for the kill for a big handicap hurdle but I think he probably still will be licking wounds about camper in a bit so I'll come to you first huh Tom Siegel um and yeah a lot of Chelten form a bid and then we have a Harry Darren runner in the middle that actually has the fall from Aintree from a newbie a few years ago that worked great. so it's an amazing race, yeah I think it's as good as any of those handicap races at Cheltenham.
aintree grand national festival day 2 horse racing tips in the know
I think it's as good as the coral cup, isn't it? I was. It was another one of those who jumped the last hole in front and he didn't beat me eh camper on the ground the drier the better ground is actually I don't think I think we did too much of the ground for him because he is twice one good in the Cup Como on ground squishy I can think he prefers better when I think he's good on all grounds at the time I thought he was I was cussing Aidan Coleman for going too soon but I think I saw him again he probably handled it very very well uh and he was lucky he only hit the last highest hoist and you're in douglas, got me here? freaking out i want to be famous i, i, no i don't share it in

aintree

but i had two of this. we're on our way we're on a couple of winners here yeah long odds in the Imran and getting beaten pretty comfortably in the end yeah you mean today they weren't they weren't like hitting short hair I mean I was hitting the neck more or less but they they they they had no bad luck I just changed the imagination they just say it's frustrating but I think he'll run very well again I think what happens with these kind of horses that don't t um we go from Cheltenham or we go back from Chelten I think the type of younger novice horses that are trained to get to the top of the day can go back but I think as we saw in the Irish National Weather one two three four five I think these handicappers hard I'm not worried they're coming from Sheldon we've had four weeks and prom camp is going to go great it's just a difference in price now I mean it was 20 to one. he at Aintree has moved up in weight and is now five to one I think this is such a good race there really is a lot in there you can imagine I think the driving terrains have probably gone against the odds good risk and fun The saints and the horses Like that they didn't get the money for Fenner's cross today.
I see that many people in the newspaper are giving

tips

. I thought he jumped so bad. He had taken a big risk jumping. It was the first time we had a had a serious run on the Supreme he just crashes into every hurdle so if he jumps he definitely has a chance to get across because he's a DMR ee and some good horses though in the beginner hurdles, Worried about jumping, aiming, yeah he's the only thing I'd say for him that he increased the handicap for winning minor races, now he has to win a good one and he's relatively cheaply priced.
He is the horse type. I don't. captain kombi in the coral cup and i think i will probably fall in love with him again simply because i think he was too keen he was too keen and they rode him too prominently i think they will drop him tomorrow and more or less come with a more time long I think the drier soil will do him good I think it would be better for him to go back a stadium rather than go into the last straight eh in the coral cup I thought it was between him and Cam prond and then he fell into a hole but i think he can be good again and i'm a great we said it yesterday fergal o'brien at this meeting is someone i always look up to and i'm a big fan of throwing green back on this huh he was a good rookie hurdler last year. he came back after a window at Kempton last time, but he's a useless right-hander, so for him to run as well as he did that day on ground that was bad, uh, and on a track he wouldn't have enjoyed it on, I think it's going to go very well tomorrow we saw what Fogel did in the last 1st and 4th on the bumper pretty sure this would have been his target for some time it's in the background the way Liam Harrison also shed a few pounds more and I think a good two and a half mile long piece of ground is perfect for it so that would be my two Captain Combi's and they'd be back to green but there's a lot going on there and I'm sure Keels will come up with a couple from different. but I think it's a great race looking forward to it so far oh I love races like that yeah it looks like an absolute cracker I mean so far Tom I think basically you or I are going to have a good day tomorrow and that we can't both be about certain things because, yeah, I think Dodge Journey is really fascinating.
I know he's been up in the weights, but every part of the form is absolutely bombproof and I look back. track and his second race beating the odds behind straw fanatic Jack he ran today in a grade one company third was mackenberg who is right on 140 plus the runaway was knocked out um every horse he races against has a highest rated and i thought it was he was fascinating kills but yeah he's fascinating he was the one at the head of the market i liked i mean obviously you know i'm scared of Campground um think Campground , it's last year, after he got hit on the cork, he went to Ireland, but he actually went to Ireland and the handicap dropped him, so he was three pounds live, so he's six pounds, barely he was dead he had a reason for his Cheltenham win and the other thing I looked at this race the last nine races of this race if you race at Cheltenham you are nowhere near the lead you are nowhere near the front uh six of the last nine runners they didn't even race at the

festival

um the other three that did it two of them shot down one of them has been doing it of course it was 14 or something in the cold cup so it's one of those races where you know that you can have a tough race in that two and a half mile three mile handicap hurdles not t if you're up there because it's dead they really go well with leather and go a long way so my angle was to try to play the horses that if wasn't in close dispute or didn't run so dodgeanini was the one in the upper waist which I like but I went down to much higher prices because I can't resist having better big prices in the two mayors huh in the race Molly Ollie wishes and martello Skye now Molly all wishes was only 11 in the Martin pipe but if you want to watch that race again she moved rather sweetly into the leaders jumping two and okay she didn't , she didn't pick up going up the hill at all, but I don't think one I don't think the kids were a clue and two Mai Tai took her down in one step, who opened with her, I felt I thought one of those one of those rides where the whole enemy energy is running out at the wrong point where it came from came from behind came to the front and faded yes exactly yes I mean I thought you knew I thought it actually ran I thought it actually ran better than the post a doctor suggested i thought he could come back well back on this track, in fact he ran very well here once.
Martin pipe was the first I think he's dropped the weights um you know he was 145 46 or something at one point like you know he's down to 137 now and in the same market that's the Martello guy now these power first and second and Weatherby's list of men earlier in the season, huh, and Martello has another one who retired despite running quite respectably, and it was quite interesting because obviously Paul Nichols has claimed Brian Foss to ride Irish Hill , but yeah, they Instead I went with Rachel Blackmore so I'm certainly not going to complain that she has form that makes her look reasonably good trailing from the 137 marker huh this is her first trailing race since who won one in child class number two huh off the same brand i think it was good last season too so again two huge prices i've also had a sneak peek if you give up tom'suno pull back green uh um but like you know it just goes I'm not gonna I'm not going to tip that many in the paper I actually said in the paper you know what I mean if you want to make a list or like I thought on Friday you'd need another page you know and he it was definitely one of darginini was another but i settled on molly all her wishes and more to go yeah just look man tell us guys i only have two handicaps and she's won both yeah huh and she's back to one, three, seven, I mean, most ways against me, isn't it, but she's very, yeah, she has a tempting handicap that way, yeah? not fair enough huh at least there are some appreciative noises oh I don't know that's David huh I agree with a couple ofpicks, I mean, you most likely mentioned 14 horses, huh, but which one stood out? for you david uh kills will be glad to know martello sky is also on my list um triple soup has shape on all types of terrain um yeah first handicap for a long time like kill said yes and i thought they were obviously the hockey reserve of Rachel Blackmore was fascinating so the Martello guy for me uh we're five places each way in this very competitive handicap and JP McManus has a couple including of course the favorite who was on him when his precincts the day after zenta and our next price increase is JP McManus to have the winner of this race what's three to one is now four to one but hammerlo skye sorry kill that's on my list too yeah no I'm superstitious dude, even though you're a Bok, we'll do it. be ok uh lots of selections in the chat too uh though out of world says keels lost the plot with that when molly always wishes but kevin never has greasy martello sky camp was a terrible price there is out of world uh dammit Tom's tiptank got pull away green says destiny sounds there goes the uh the price uh and uh okay now you know it's cool you can bet now yeah yeah um maybe maybe take the 25 to one now before that paper comes out though it's true that in a race so like i said um among many of us i mean we haven't mentioned that we should win uh good risk at all that's one i bet the gelt no one has mentioned it certainly uh but uh kills just remind us ok uh tom uh i didn't this darjeanini i think he has a lot of chances it's just not my kind of bet you know uh uh ross goes up in weights like i said but i understand you make you work for sure i think he has a good chance i like captain kombi and roll that green again okay captain convy and roll that green again yeah i'll go with that with darjeanini who now has Tom Siegel's stamp of approval okay david stevens you go with martello skye guide from martella for I'm not sure we've mentioned any other regular Joe JP runners this second in the Martin pipeline. well I mean I thought this was a good race now I can't wait for this to jump because it looks like an absolute blinder and we've talked enough for giveaways uh for the Big Field handicap hurdle. got a great rookie hurdle course 14 of them running for the best rookie hurdle uh i found the 50 seven to two with Lucia uh if you found 50 laps to help put it in the pockets at four to one uh maybe uh for 50 you could go to Holland back to ten to one huh there's no going back if you look at a room at 10 on the belly it's tens tomorrow it's 12 strong leader 18-1 many others with chances too Pembroke huh of course for the skeletons huh, It wouldn't be the first time a horse has won a Cheltenham handicap and also wins this race on rueboard, Colonel Harry for Jamie Snowden and the rare edition, who ran a bit of a stink at Cheltenham on the Supreme, but he's low grade here , so yeah its not a handicap hurdle Keels but its an absolute Blinder we got plenty of phone lines sir galore here the mayor's rookie of course is supreme and then those horses skipping the

festival

like that in particular he's excited about the return of Holland, yes I think it is, I think it is, um I think it's very interesting, we have horses that ran at Cheltenham but didn't really threaten to win either Lucci or in the pocket. you know massive threats there they both fought they both have respectable careers but you know there's probably a standard that's probably not high enough to run scared so you have these unexposed horses and I'm really trying to give a charge to people like Hollaback and external Billy, uh, because I mean how do you know you mentioned Holland?
He's been very impressive at what he's been doing. I mean I know I didn't beat much but I want to go as far in any kind of betting eight and do it but then I was reminded of the fact that the Supreme novices with hurdles the first eight at home were Irish and so I thought well if I'm going to endorse something that we are looking for. You know what else is

racing

from Ireland that didn't race at Cheltenham and we got to know looking back and I think it's fascinating? Oliver McKeon runner he uh he is about three times in hurdles won his Maiden heard Lee then run a match against Brazilian Wonder Fred winter and despite hopping terribly uh still managed to win it um Brazil as long as its in store and next Once he was second to Irish Point, now Irish Point didn't really perform at the Dublin Mason Festival, but he won, you know, he ran in a close photo with Marine National, but inside before that and he won this big elusive buyer. length and a quarter but don't look back I was really chasing him and giving him nine pounds huh I think that's a massive run and I think you know he shortened because he was 16 this morning but I still think it gives him a better chance than the 10 to one now is on fire i have three winners out of his last five huh coach had a 50 to one bowl winner in 2012 he would follow his plan he did he did and he's just a running back at

aintree

as it was a 66 to shot one that went down 10 years ago so this is his first round of the meet in 10 years he looks like he has a decent horse in his hand he is in flight form and he is a double figure flight so it was good Enough for me, I mean, yeah, it sounds pretty good when you put it on, doesn't it?
Don't look back so ten to one here but yeah absolutely open but yeah we'll start Holland back with you Tom. because i remember we both put this on the old tracker after that warwick race but i mean the shape isn't fantastic but all the horses that is beating them in the previous races are really rock solid yards like Dixon you said that the yard is in the good nick holland back, named after uh, the boys are from uh, paul, aren't they? uh, and it's named after the Old Dell boy, isn't that where he went to Holland? the shows there so i was expecting a lot of your very funny jokes for us but clearly you missed the hollandback huh but here we go only fools and horses are two it's too mainstream for my references that's what i'm saying oh ok ok sorry sorry but this time yeah we're going to be millionaires if this wins i'll tell you if this wins we could be yes i fight this anti-post actually i probably have the one when the when the when the when the thing when the uh decks came out a big fan of him uh when he won when he beat the million in haydock but i thought he was even better at warwick uh like i say this kind of has been his uh plan mark of thief deliberately missing cheltenham like i said many times no im a big fan of Fogo Brian in this meeting we saw on the bumper today i think Halifax will do very well however i dropped him tomorrow for exactly the same reasoning as Deals just had the top eight in the in the uh the uh they just dominated I think their four was probably miles behind ours in the Irish league and as Kiel says don't look back to form with your arms I mean the Irish point fit forward the Royal Bond came second in the nays rawlers great once he's a great horse properly well he didn't run very well at the public

racing

festival but they never really put him in the race huh so i think that might be how you might rate that as tonight really i'm giving him nine pounds uh i just think he's going to run great i just think he's going to run great on a cheer trip disappointed i thought in the mayor's steeplechase for the 50 i got expired balls that were on the album the last time next time so i thought it was a pretty good run to have a go i thought it was me i thought hal and back huh it's going to go well but the prices were but no back was the one to be ok , Thanks Dave, we'll go from the higher numbers to, well, Dave, what do you think of this? and it's your house has any price increase any opinion whatever uh uh you fancy here yes to the extra places four places instead of three yes to the price increase so this will be one that i think would do well for an irish winner from this race he went from 11 to 10 now from six to four but all that being said I'm probably going to be a little silly and go for the outer belly trained by Harry five three out of three I think the kills will confirm he got a pretty decent result rpr for his win last time but he's clearly taking on the Irish here but I'll take Harry Fry's about ten to one as I say four places each way here ok lovely stuff go well , Train Tours to win the 255 is 64. uh from 11 to 10 as far as chat fantasies uh fantasy Pembroke and rare edit says Eden j s and uh Darren collage said something about uh yeah probably should yeah it's not it's the racing rubber not harness racing I don't know it doesn't quite work but we'll do it as a strong leader in every way so Steven's 99 too and in the pocket is card nap for Duncan Evans feel what we go with yeah no looking back hopefully ok lovely stuff and uh Mr.
Siegel yes I've backed Helen Back and no looking back ok lots of backs yeah I'm starting to really you know , get to the bottom of how you, uh, how you pick horses here. uh david upset belly every way for me ok big belly is and yeah i'll go with uh hole and back and if he wins i'll spend the winnings on a ticket to deep which is per Of course, from Hall. The main attraction huh the 330 at age is the chase huh and we got seven of them lining up here huh pick the door heat and the fakia guy area 94 joint favorites Hitman five to one , French Dynamite, eight to one, runaway, he's 81, Millers bank is nine to one and the Manila drama is the 22-1 outsider of the pack here and there's been a little bit of money to pick Dory but of course , the one to beat here is back here to think sometimes I look at this horse and think oh a little disappointed actually on that occasion and then you look at the horses that really beat him huh and you have your shishkins and your Galoping the Champs and you and your Allah So it turns out that if Ifakia is faced with absolute will, he too is beaten, but pretty much puts everything else to the sword. up and our guy who's not in the world right so you know I think you know I think it's pretty clear he's not as good or he hasn't been this season as good as he was last season if that's enough for Beating him is another matter but I think he's been a little below average huh I don't think Paul Nichols has two horses with a good chance of being in Pick 3 he obviously finished ahead of him at Ascot huh when the pairing went second and third behind shishkin who got away with that run so he has a chance to jump very very well that day and you know he has really taken off this season quite often these poor Nickel Hunters make that start. chasing real early and then all of a sudden they start maturing when they get a little bit older huh he's gone and I've got this blind spot with Hitman anyway yeah so you know I'll end up back at him because he's the most important point. off par huh but you know he likes he likes Angel obviously he was second after every day this past year he was only six so a year older maybe a year better he thought he ran perfectly well on the huh on the ryanair he finished third huh and you ruined the race i thought yes it's possible but i mean he's a traveler so often he'll get the right innovation no you know he might not find much .
Actually, I don't. i think there are a lot of things wrong with his heart to be honest but a lot of people say he recorded some names but he dont know he may not find too much but he does well here it was a good weight bearing performance when he too it was touched on the road earlier this season so I think it will run well I think you know there's a chance they'll hit the favorite pace I don't think it's bomb proof um again it's not a race I I would be very confident but i will take into account every day ok there we go taking joseph o'brien corridor because mark walsher was ingood nick today was a fair brian of course also with bambridge so do you think the fact that your daughter is past her best days or she could bounce back in one of her favorite songs, Tom, oh good de Of course she might bounce back, but I don't think it's just a kill that thinks she's not doing her best 'cause she's got cheeks put on for the first time, so I think that the connections do not believe that it has been in the same way. this year as he has and i am i am of that opinion too i just don't think he looks as lively or like lies or any of that guy he just hasn't looked as slick as he has in the past so for him, for me, it's one to take on, of course he can, he can win, he's got the best form, but I'm a little surprised that Harry Cobson shows picking Doryabout Hitman, I'm in heels on that.
I thought Hitman had the better form of the two I thought he ran very well at Cheltenham even though the track and ground were probably against him I think he will do well but the one I really like is French Dynamite I think I think before the meeting started I thought the ground was going to be too soft for him but I think the ground is drying fast and if it doesn't keels your special weather app doesn't work it's magical and the ground stays fast I think which is going to go very well because I think they could do the race with him or be there with him huh and I think he also ran very well for a long time at Ryanair so I think it's a much more open race than the prices suggest which no i'm not in love with either of the two at the top of the market huh i think i mean i like hitman around that entry i think i think malcolm williams got a good one there but I'd prefer French Dynamite prices a bit, okay Fresh Dynamite yeah it's an eight to one shop here uh it's a weird race isn't it?
I mean he picked or had a nightmare that day and one is 91 and another is 94. I know only because their seasons have been so different, but then again horses for courses and all, I wouldn't be hugely surprised to see him uh run a great race. no not at all yeah window two starts working too though it didn't i mean it just seems like his season hasn't gone as planned he could pick himself up looking for horses for courses like you say huh and me. I think fugitive is that he's not out of it either. I mean the handicap keeps climbing, but he was the best of his career last time Jeffrey, the horse that finished fourth in the plate, went on to run a crack at the Irish

national

, was giving a little bit of weight to say and the sedan is a pretty good horse when it gets put on when it now has its kind of jump together and has a pace to it so I wouldn't rule it out either I think it's wide open I just think it's hard to find one against the top two on the market but I will certainly back two or three of them and see what you do during the win yeah yeah that's not usually the case in these kind of races of course two came out too for the gold from the other board and a next time too so the race is running pretty well admittedly at a lower level but huh yeah who wins the mars chase 40 of you guys strongly disagree with the panel huh 28 Big Dory 19 Hitman and the ten percent uh others here if you're watching at home of course and you haven't liked the stream do it now and feed the hungry algorithm as far as people at home but you do to recover says says Luke salmon uh as for the rest, damien o'hagen completely disagrees that life for horses is turned upside down. for opinions david come on tell us you got something uh third place maybe let me take a look halfway ok no i've set you up to succeed not fail that's good let's do a third place in every way absolutely. and that really appeals to the likes of French Dynamite, who is really consistent and threatened to win one of these big races for a while.
The Miller's Bank bag from the course he ran so well a year ago from the front that in the I bet I'm surprised his joint favorites gave him the gate of selection. He was seven links ahead of Alaska's backyards. There's no reason the JP McManus force would reverse that it's wide open but with those three spots each way I'd take a chance on Miller's bench and that's a slim chance but I say it worked so well here a year ago but we got another price increase and ok what is it? sorry reverse odds pick gate he and fakia duderies was five to two now it's 130. well there we go uh and your pick no keels on this uh this uh im going to hitman because i have a soft spot for him ok ok Hitman Hitman is the man Tom yeah probably French Dynamite is a slightly overheated pusher but I like them both ok there we go and David I mean top two on the market I prefer to choose the door that you would do there.
It is but it would take a very try each way with those three places at Miller's Bank yeah a little tempted just to give it a chance to get back in but it is uh it looks on paper like a nightmare race but hey, let's move on. got three more to go to Aintree on day two starting with a trip to the national offenses to test a bit over two miles and five furlongs here for the top of Ashtown lad has already shown uh that uh he uh a he likes huh this test is seven to one just skill is eight to one final orders his ten with Horton aplenty at Burrows Satan and Al dancing bad rhodoto is 12-1 Equus up 14-1 many others who they've been on good nick this season clarifying in the bet who is uh second last time looks much better then Peter Bowens got informed wheelie uh loves loves a national uh offense winner of course always waning and many others in the past Equus Dancers there in Cooper's cross on the machine for Kerry Lee uh fantastic Cass could well bounce back too after a disappointing run on very soft ground at Cheltenham unsurprisingly at the top and Keels this it's absolutely open, but the problem with this race is that I could talk for 20 minutes about this and after two hurdles you'd have a very different opinion, yes, yes, absolutely, it's one of those, you know it's really very competitive. really, really hard, you need a good start to put yourself in a decent position, etc. you know, unless they throw some water on it, the ground will speed up, you know, unless we get that rain that may or may not come, I just have a feeling it might be a little too fast for it.
I started all over Borough Saint because I remember seeing it jumping around here International a couple of years ago with four in the Manila Times and it's just not stale it's a little bit similar to the kind of run that Live Love Risa did when and then two years later, He came around here and turned weight into possession, um, but then I thought if he hasn't done much because he hasn't had much, he hasn't, you know the handicap hasn't given him much back and I just kind of moved away from him, so I have a much higher priced pair.
I have endorsed the Phoenix way. I think the Phoenix way is very, very interesting because he has run three very good races this season and we lose two. hit every one of them was fourth a runaway on chips don't want to start the season when runaway is raid 133 he's always 153 now if he's fourth against Wilbur Dosa and runaway in a great race at Cheltenham which I don't think I really will fit well huh and then he did well for a long way he always does when he runs three miles huh and he didn't stay at Ascot huh behind the Captain's law and a nice way of saying o favor to that race huh and he looked the whole race like he was going to win it and then he did what he normally does at the three miles and he didn't stick with the trainers but the cheeks just sort of surprised me because I don't think he's done. something wrong huh but if they help good luck I think it has a good disadvantage it is five times the price it was last time it is understandable in this 39 field but I think it is well priced and I think machine D is a similar guy on that although it's one over three miles I don't think he really gets it huh and he didn't get it last time when he was fifth in the sky but he did chase a Doncaster but he ran solid races again throughout the season he was unfortunate enough to run into zanza when zanza was fair at 130 something on his beloved Newbury huh on a Cold Gold Cup day in November he finished second um a bit under probably Cheltenham I don't think cheltenham is this track either um when he was seven at midnight River as if to say he wasn't a bad one and again last time he didn't stay on Donnie but he usually jumps well and I think two mile five is absolutely perfect for him and again he's down to a mark just a pound taller they've dropped it a little season just one more pound to gain very easily uh uh from the Mountain Man you talked to last spring so you know it's both for me uh I could pick eight on this and no getting one of the top six is that hard so uh but they'll do me yeah we'll have to nuke the pot at The Other Place i think uh in this space yeah i have yeah yeah yeah yeah well you got it today yeah much easier today. true but then i might pay a nice bump tomorrow ashdownload 701 lots of horses injured in betting on the international dancer too burrows says uh are you uh are you excited for something in this um tom or is it one of those races do you think it's too much huh , too hard to properly get stuck on too hard for someone to figure this out?
It's like cheesecake or profiteroles. In this I know that I am yes and I know that I am not going to lose again because it is very difficult and I know what will happen after three hurdles I think why I did that I came out from behind I have fallen or I am hindered or I do not like it It is the same than the national these days I find them really very difficult I don't have a weigh-in at these races so I'm finding I find the only way I can is to do what everyone else used to do and that's go for horses that have run well on the hurdles in the past which led me to the one Keels first mentioned Borough Saint I don't think he's as lost as a lot of people think he has I thought he ran well for a long way.
I saw the national comeback last year and it was absolutely key. He was pulling. He was pulling when he got down to the saddle but he jumps jumps first whatever 14 or so perfectly bright again like he did when he was second uh when he was fourth the national to let him just play bowl and we'll see what happens after them you might not be handicap enough but you could make your cage for so many I had a good look at the New Me tour but if I had the main uh I was really close to tipping but then I thought I I would really come home.
I took a good look at the hotel law, he jumps very fast, but will he make it home? he can get home huh in huh cheltenham and i just thought it was very very difficult huh i could literally defend everything i saw well Fantastic throw to the bottom ran better in pieces than huh in cheltenham last time in final bill rodoto ran adjusting the plate uh paul nichols used to have a very good record with horses like him in the race i could go on forever with all 30 of them it's too hard i ended up in burrows saying but i probably shouldn't have and i should probably be saving my money from the braces.
I actually had a chance, yeah, so I mean, yeah, there are horses I even want to say you've mentioned a lot of them, but there are other horses that no one has mentioned that I thought I had a chance, bachio, uh, really You like, uh, you've clearly been aiming for this career, haven't you? I mean, even you look at, um, you look at topville Ben and you think, oh, this horse doesn't like national fences, but one was at the National when he was when he was stopped after an example for a fall and one was in three miles and two furlongs on soft ground behind the snow leopard where she stormed into the lead and then tired and went down and that third to the golfer in February makes it seem like a bit of a price at 33 or 50 or whatever be, so yeah, it's wide open, David Stevenson, like I said, uh, it's the joy of national offenses, isn't it? he's going through the form with a bet and after two hurdles knowing you don't stand a chance I mean who knew Tom Segal's weakness was lucrative rose or cheesecake in the first place what's more I think it is more, it is more a selection of saw man. that's what i got it down to since i'm more of a little man myself but let's get back to this six place each way race and i think we're going to need the six i like jessica are now dancers on her great sefton rum but lumped in one that hasn't been over these hurdles and that's dancer Equus a winner last time he jumps hurdles he chases so hopefully the national hurdles are good for him and he's trained by Peter Bowen I think he's won this race five times about 14 to one but six places in each direction notoriously tricky I think we can all agree that at least yes we can uh we can indeed uh kiels um just to reiterate what you might be taking a pound or two in the machine yes D and Phoenix way both around 25s I think it's ok Tom well hopefully there will be some profiteroles and cheesecake so I won't have to get too caught up but I'll have I'll take a chance I'll borrow Saint recovering but no It's Massive Pride, okay, there you go, yeah, maybe. uh, yeah, maybe just go for a little walk to warm up for dessert, uh, but, uh, david, what are you? uh, what are you going to order? bearing but then again yeah it's bell shooting off the back of mine saying you know what you watch and enjoy don't get involved uh two more races to go especially since we still have a grade one rookie three miles.
ObstacleFor overtaking with 16 riders, this is much closer from a personal perspective. Stay away from phase seven to two. Saint Davies 22-1 and those are just the ones at the top of the screen, of course, plenty of twig for Ben Paulie who often delivers a surprise on a surprise in these races. They have all been caught. Suddenly, it's a big prize. The marble rings for Virgil O'Brien. Those are huge prices and of course he kills. This is the replica of the Albert Bartler, which this year was an absolute nightmare, wasn't it? I mean spin it to the bottom of the hill you thought any eight or nine could win one ran through the rail later and 150 to 1 shots got involved I mean if it's as hard as that then well this is what it's like one of those races where you know you spend the whole season trying to figure out what's going to win and then something wins it that you hadn't even thought of, uh, you know, and it was kind of unfair keep away Fay to be honest but he only ran twice over hurdles anything that was beaten by Maximilian at Doncaster um but uh you know Paul Nichols said earlier and he thought you know he blamed the jockey rather than a horse without votes to Donny and uh and now he couldn't figure it out just when it mattered and it's really hard isn't it fake?
So I think he deserves to be the favourite. There is a horse in this race called Hurricane Bay who was 16-1 and that Doncaster race was behind and he finished third behind Maximilian. and stay away because he actually traded money and ran uh and he's 40-1 ya know so you know he's a great spread just he's one of the mickey mouse breed since he likes Good Grounds so if it's not raining , could run good um you know it's one of those where I really found it harder to make a decision than the downsides so I think in the end I settled on Apple huh I'm just going to think he would make it better she it's always just getting better uh she's very easy in the last couple of starts uh and but it's a bit of an assumption with me you know i mean i went round and round in circles i really didn't like her very much yeah i mean it's really as I said the album and this run is also a rich vein of future winners but essentially again they are Future Three Mile Chasers huh Tom so they're not necessarily being you know this isn't theirs they're game right ?
If they have been, it would be nice to win a great one of those, but most of these, you know, we're going to be looking at the long-distance grade ones that take them down and catch them in time over the fences so that it does a little bit more. Complicated yeah I think I mean my only way was I didn't want to take the faith to walk away I just thought so but I'm going to say it again right? hard race very different track isn't it on very different terrain to what I did at Cheltenham we saw one with Stage star so wanted to tackle it 'Cause he's his he ain't the three mile irish he's the two and a half mile irish guy he was second to good dirt wasn't he?
I know well Landing ran brilliantly at Valley Mall but I don't think that was necessarily him running for real so I think he'll stay three miles and participate but he's not very good shake hiroko I think he'll love the ride huh I think that it's getting better all the time i wouldn't rule it out the two i had but hey the three i was looking at and i'm not sure about that was great. Dawning simply because it's a skeletal horse jumping ride. I think he will like the better terrain much better. Russell factors Hoisin into your brandy Breeze and you know I think she's one of those right multiple times huh she's very good at keeping horses so she was on the list and my old friend blinks who would have been the pick if I could have gotten one. confidence that he is in top form because I think he had a problem in the middle of the season, he was due to race at Cheltenham and he didn't and then he missed the season and waited for this I think three miles will be no problem but I think the way he going through the mud to win the shallow hurdles day was really impressive huh he gets a lot slower than Hermes Allen and the mayor who won the mayor race to tell you but he came from Miles back and I didn't think he looked very good that day so that was my three against the ones that were at the top of the market because I really wanted to play them and it would probably end up in a big Dawning just because I thought he had the most buffs on him ok great, just a seven to one shot for skeletons and yes, blinking things. national or huh or a Peter Marsh or something in the near future he's going to be a proper disabled Hunter um and I mean I say this is wide open but the one I couldn't get away from guys was Maximilian who beat to stay from distance Faye uh the track should be absolutely spot on because it's a it's a three mile point two races in three miles have been absolutely rock solid and McCain and Hughes win the flat points track they skip them um I thought that I was sure he looks good Maximilian but that's it but yeah you look like Nirvana yeah no I mean he's good he's got a chance as you know he obviously has a really good job yeah okay Maximilian for my.
David Stevens for the penultimate race well I've been completely on board with you and Maximilian but if anyone saw the killer look he was giving you there I was just distracted to be honest that's worse that feels worse is talk, I'll stop listening, yeah, I mean, I was anticipating the taste. from the first floor again he'll be at the pub in about 10 minutes yeah yeah in that case we'll keep talking um I mean that's a slight better than being distracted but I'm okay with everything you you said about Maximilian. I know Paul Nichols thought the jockey ruined him that fate of the ladder and stay away from fate It may have improved dramatically but let's see what Maximilian has and uh yeah we'll sink or swim together in this Ross as a matter of fact uh maybe we'll have a bracelet each I don't know we'll see how it goes but cefton rookie pitcher then uh Keels tell us what you fancy while I tune out.
I forgot what was great. I actually quite like the gray Dawning yeah that's why I couldn't remember what he was giving in the race when we got here because there were so many horses I looked at I never thought I would go down the gray Dawning so yeah forget it. Apple away gray Sunrise ok mate sorry just ignore me for this run I have no idea yeah yeah it's only fair that's what's going to be cut isn't it nice? I'm going with Maximilian. Tom brings us back to Earth. i can't remember what i left for us what was a big awning for me you don't forget anything tom you don't forget anything other than how to get out of the house of course huh but uh ok let's move on to the last one i said adrian on 5 15 uh this he's more like a conditional jockey amateur jockey handicapped for a little over two miles with 22 riders we got two minutes to review them huh keels is back in the room huh in theory go Dante eight to one Nibiru 17 -2 Paramount 17-2 the call of golf is nine to one jpr one 91 blue King Dollar 11's Washington 12's Knickerbocker Glory surely that's Tom's favorite is at 12-1 Soul icon watch uh Denzel has a chance too you Can Tango for Ollie Murphy to run the good race last time?
A lot of them kill, come on give me two, okay, you've got a few, haven't you? He has a couple of cheap pieces for the first time and Washington. to excel huh and in the race he was third at 13 to two three pound taller Mark last year to hackabay plus uh he had a really good season as a rookie you know he was just beating two lenses for I like to move for Cheltenham he was just beating Dan Gina's fourth Olympian, we're talking decent horses here, uh, he couldn't seem to lift a leg in the first two starts this season and I don't know what, I don't know what happened to him. the handicap player was reluctant to drop it much but showed more um uh though when a second 12 year old frisky saint on heavy ground at Leicester now frisky himself was quite underweight then and uh and um, the wash is not a heavy dirt horse and he's uh, but he's had a break, uh, and he's been pretty good after breaking his time, you know, it's a first time and, uh, twice and then a break, uh, and you know, I think he's pretty handicapped, he traveled very, very well on this. he ran last year um and he is you know he was shocked twice he was it a year ago ok there you go you do it for me he will do for you huh Tom Siegel what we will do for you in closing um really hard uh like Nibiru a bit along Tony Martin after the uh good time Johnny in Chelten also likes Paramount uh quite a bit Bradley Roberts removing the seven I know it was uh uh some kind of Mickey Mouse race he won false last time it was a race very valuable and I think I think uh some trainers have targeted him and he ran from them so I think the good ground suits him if he was Mickey Mouse the first time on the second he's absolutely gagged ever since and I know, I thought I just know, I know, yeah what I meant by that was three or four riders weren't there and but I think it was 15 thousand dollars to the winner I think it was more I think it was more for that race in the same day as 3rd in county hurdles on the same day so it's a very good Charlie Longson spot and those that went to the five runner race yeah I like Paramount I think it's pretty good and I think that Bradley Robertson, a big fan, is taking off seven, gives them a very good chance of drying out the ground, the better off, too.
I think the ground might have been too soft for him. he looks like one of those horses that if everything had gone to plan a little bit sooner or he might be running grade direction so um but he's clearly a big horse I think he probably had some trouble with him because he's taken a while to get his shot right , but yes, me in particular, yes, Doncaster, and then he faked it last time. I thought it was very impressive, so yeah, it's very interesting. Kind of interesting that's collingham I thought he'd appreciate these uh these conditions he was ousted very early in Kelso's timeout but the jockey gets along with him could be a great price uh there he is 28 to one, hopefully, an extra place. so maybe one could sneak into the fifth at least david what have you got for us?
We certainly have five spots each way on this finish, uh, jpr, one for the tizards had the choice of this race or the two and a half mile handicap portal earlier. on the undercard they went for this very experienced Harry Kimber he is a horse the team have always held in the highest regard so jpr one for me the Taunton winner last time hoping he can harness that good, jpr one is a nine to a shot uh lots of other uh chances here A different guy for Devo uh blue King buck over Rob Dixon and Duncan Evans says score wins this period lovely lovely stuff I thought it was a sign of interrogation on him but you know what I might say uh what are you closing with gills yeah Washington to me Washington is and Mr.
Siegel uh Paramount though I Paramount is uh I'll agree with you on Paramount kinda I'm calling him too and David Stevens jpr one in the final ok jpr one in race number seven we'll take a nap in a second after this thanks you missed us so much I hope so because Racing Post Live return to your living room on Grand National Saturday.
