A Shift in the Earth's Cycles Is Coming

Jun 08, 2024
The IPCC says actions like this, if widespread enough, will reduce global surface temperatures and even reverse other processes such as ocean acidification.  Personally, I'm not very sold on current carbon capture projects, but they exist. But these efforts must be done at a large-scale government level.  Ultimately, my goal at the end of this video was to examine what global warming meant in the context of Earth's broader history. From there, we can see that it's actually not accurate to say that we're the hottest we've ever been, and I find that a really fascinating idea. However, that fact alone is not the reason some people think it is to not worry about the problem.   Climate change is a process that usually takes millennia.

I have realized that what is worrying is not necessarily the change itself, but the speed at which it is happening. Some life forms could be left behind. (And how will humanity cope? We don't know, since we haven't been around long enough to have to deal with the extremes of the past.) While human activity has accelerated certain elements, and while we can now undo some of what has been done through our actions, some things, like rising sea levels, will be with us for up to 1,000 years. According to the latest IPCC report, we have passed the point of no return of 1.5°C and we will need to make rapid and fundamental changes to our society this decade to prevent it from going beyond that.

More Interesting Facts About,

a shift in the earth s cycles is coming...

This will be difficult.  However, there is no way we, as a species, can achieve this difficult path unless we can agree on the facts behind it. Without that broader context of agreed data, it will always be perfectly possible to reach a wide range of conclusions and different paths we should take. That's why when it comes to any discussion, context is so important.  By looking at the patterns of our planet's history, we see that the current rise in global temperatures is an induced event that does not match existing patterns. And   it coincides perfectly with human activity.  Discuss what you want to do with that information and what the best path forward is in light of it.

But these are the facts, etched in ice and bones of long-dead organisms. They will not tolerate any argument.  Ultimately, the Earth's

cycles

are all around us. They rise and fall, sometimes they combine with each other and other times they work in opposition.  While their extremes can be destructive, by learning about them we can learn to live with them, and they certainly ensure that life on Earth is not boring. We, as human beings, are now part of that process, although whether we will also be cyclical remains to be seen. Perhaps our dominance of this planet will increase until these

cycles

are no match for us and we are able to adjust the weather and temperature to whatever we want at any given time.

But those days are far away.  For now, it is very important to understand the planet's cycles and how we influence them. Because, whether we ignore them or not, they will influence us.  At least now, when someone offers you a polite conversation about what the weather is like, you know enough to go a little further. Go to them and say:   “Too easy. “I can tell you what the weather is like.” They may or may not appreciate that response, and it could be the end of the conversation. But in my opinion, it is a fascinating topic to know about.
