I think I've been relatively successful in my life with regards to small

businesses

. I have seen a lot and it has ranged from a variety of restaurants to online businesses and other types of bricks and mortar. be attached to certain things because the business should be able to survive on its own and then I can also say a couple of things here on the air that can be controversial so I don't want the business to have to go through the ebbs and flows . ebbs and flows of me you know I'm attached to myself and my name and all that so um I've chosen a different path with a lot of the different businesses that I shop at and find and um you know I'm a partner with certain people who come up with great ideas, but there are a lot of small companies that you can get into for less than five thousand dollars and most of these companies that I'm going to mention today, um, you can get into for a lot less and some of they require you to invest in yourself and then others are for you to invest in different things, equipment, marketing tools, all these things that will help you succeed, but I just wanted to present you with some ideas as far as you. consider and whether or not you really want to dive in and do the work for these specific businesses because you can grow and scale them to become something very phenomenal and meaningful, so the first business that I wanted to tackle was something that people are very interested in. and it's the restaurant business everyone wants to have their own restaurant everyone likes food everyone doesn't even understand the dynamics of the restaurant business so if you want to dig into that on my other channel I went on several small business topics and videos including location and what it was like to run mine and all that other kind of stuff so go to that channel and check that out but in the restaurant business you can get into the restaurant business for less of five thousand dollars well that sounds crazy but what I would like to do is approach it from a different perspective and um what I suggest to people who are thinking about opening a brick and mortar business and going into the restaurant business is that

with a pop-up and the way you start with a pop-up is you don't have to be a location owner, you don't have to already have your own employees, but you can negotiate with a restaurant owner, especially one that you operate after

hours

or they're only open certain days of the week you can walk in and say ok well if you're open monday or wednesday to sunday or something and i have great marketing skills and i have a paddle and i have a following and i want to dip my toes in and see if i want to get into the restaurant business you can rent that location on a night off or at a specific time and then serve whatever you need using their kitchen using their equipment use their location to seat your guests and it may be something you can start to explore whether or not it tickles you as to why you would want to go into that business and you can do it for significantly less than five grand obviously you should You go in and negotiate the price with the restaurant owner, the owner of the physical location to determine exactly what you want to pay and then you have to do the math to determine how much your food costs will be. be as far as all the materials and you're going to have to find a staff so it can be temporary or whatever, but you don't have the long-term requirements and you're not locked into something that you can't get out of with a big investment, you can figure out whether or not the restaurant business is for you and start your own location um based on the results you get from this popup and doing popups for a significant amount of time actually some of my friends and some of the best developed concepts and ideas came from startup restaurants and they did it for over a year and then they developed it and figured out their whole business plan and put it together and finally they were able to secure investors like me and micro investors and be able to figure out what the funding is um to finally open their own brick and mortar location because they decided to do that therefore you can get into the restaurant business for less than five grand next idea is to be a web designer and developer freelance web designer and developer now this idea it also extends to people who already have the skill if you're in a digital space if you're good with front end development back end development some of that and I think most of this cost comes from the team and investing in you myself, um, I was self-taught and then I went and got my software engineering and webmaster web developer all those certificates and things like that, but obviously it launched me into a career that was very, very lucrative and I'm very grateful to all the people who played a role and they saw my value and potential but it takes a lot of hard work it takes a decent amount of marketing you will have to build a portfolio and do some stuff for free but all the costs associated with building your skills and the software and the hardware. that you need can largely be written off as a business expense and ultimately it can be really very lucrative and you can turn that into consulting or decide you want to go into it full time so it's a very well paying field and If I want and have the time, patience, and wherewithal to learn the skill of being a web developer, I think it can be a very, very good small business turned into a lifetime career that can make some really good money for you, okay think about it the third thing is and I hear a lot of people talk about this and I really take this into consideration when I look at the real estate market today and how it's going is property management which I'm never going to show up on. any of my real estate and doing any of the jobs, it's just not happening.

I'm always looking for um services and ways that I can automate things to make it easier for me to not just collect rent and be able to inspect. and see how things go. I've had some really great tenants. I have never had any problems in a real estate aspect of my life. However, I'm always looking to automate and make sure things go much better. and things break down there are maintenance issues there are things that need to be done um but property management um is a big thing right now and it doesn't take much if you're good with your hands if you're um very much a person who pays attention to the details if you are on time if you are punctual if you have a great relationship with the real estate people um if you can market yourself effectively i think it can be very lucrative feel the small room the business idea i like is the audio editor and video, someone who, because we all know people who like photography, we always see people shooting videos and things like that, but what about these youtubers? you need to dm them you need to reach out to anyone who is a content creator not just rappers not just models or all this other kind of stuff if you are good with videography and again this is a small investment that could be used with. the computers you already have and stuff like that but the software is really just the software and learning the skills and getting your feet wet you might even have to start diving deep into it for free adding value and adding content first and then like so it's how you build your clientele that's a whole different conversation maybe I'll do a master class on acquiring clients and stuff like that but videography audio video editing is a booming field for small business owners who require a minimal amount of investment also e-commerce and crafter if you make things if you are good with your hands carpentry work finding clients is very easy when you learn the marketing skills and how to sell and promote yourself online um creating value for people by um being very desirable not to do a lot of things but to be able to understand exactly how you can sell and how much your stuff costs and you understand ecommerce start a Shopify site or a vlog and then people find you based on the content and the value you add and the DIY videos and you know all those different ways to market yourself e-commerce combined with being a crafter is a phenomenal way to break into small business people who have an extra bedroom or extra house consider becoming a airbnb host i realized that's not necessarily for me but people want to get into the airbnb

as far as making extra money which is a small business idea and last but not least i like the idea of ​​Being a virtual personal assistant I drop by regularly and it's based on their availability or they get a new job or something like that but I regularly get support and people who work for me addressing certain things that I can't handle or or can't do it at certain times i think being a virtual personal assistant especially for people who value their time and understand the value of their time can be a really good small business idea especially for people who work from home who they have extra time on their hands if you have a child you cant go to work right now or you are out of work being a virtual personal assistant i think its a very good idea and the most important thing is to identify your idea of ​​starting their side business or hobby because many of these small business ideas start out as a hobby or side business you like making videos and then all of a sudden you start creating content the next thing you know you are a youtuber so starting a side business or a hobby getting the software or equipment you need to put together a business plan put together your llc or establish whether or not you are a sole proprietorship and the difference between the two is liability um an llc is very much its own entity or company in itself is its own entity whereas even though you are your own person you are probably the only person doing business within the business a sole proprietorship is basically just using your social security number you are the business so again , another whole video but keep in mind these steps to get your tax id once you get your llc and set up within a state whatever state you do business in all you have to do is go to the irs get ein site which is basically the social security number or tax id the social security number of your business ok that's basically all it is getting a bank account after that designate a work area so make sure you have a space where you can work effectively not only be messy but get a decent work area it could be in your basement and then come up with a marketing plan once you establish or evaluate the ways you are going to get the word out to people that you are the one to follow being to refine which continues to refine the people you are targeting and then polishing is a lot that simple small businesses requires a level of business acumen but also requires people to put themselves into grinding it is hard work there are very few if any businesses one that you can automate and make you money on a regular basis without you having to do a thing, so if you're looking to get started and looking to start a small business, you don't need a lot of capital.
