for Candyman finally landed online, the reboot/sequel to the Candy Man franchise that Tony Todd once made famous. What I'm going to do here for you is Break down the trailer, point out some of the

things

you may have

missed

, explain how this movie fits into the Candyman universe, but most importantly next, what did you guys think of this trailer? I'm getting mixed reactions, a lot of people just say, man. I thought the trailer did its job for me, but hit the like button if you're one of the people who really enjoyed this trailer so you can be completely up to date with Candyman.

This is being produced by Jordan Peele, he even wrote the script, not directing it. This time, instead, he handed that duty over to Nia DaCosta. This movie is a direct sequel to Candyman from 1992. It will ignore Candy Man 2 and 3 so don't worry about watching those movies and from this trailer it is very connected to it. first movie almost to where you can basically point out how the movie will play out by diving into the trailer. I love how it starts with this Candy Man thing being a trend like it would be in real life, you know, if this was something that even happened on the news, there would be OCD ticks, there would be YouTube videos and that's exactly what's happening here, a group of teenagers doing the Candy Man challenge only to be visited by Candy Man moments later, one thing I want to point out.

As we watch this, I like the improved look of the Candy Man in that quick shot we have. It's a stylish and modern trench coat, but also very familiar to Tony Todd's original trench coat war. I feel horrible for the girl who was left alive. in the position because you know she will be blamed for all the murders that just happened in front of her, that's a common theme in the Candy Man movies where once Candy Man shows up, does his bidding, someone else is to blame for what he did. or worse in this case ha ha Duel Bob will become the new Candy Man that's how Hollywood gets away with being a reboot and a sequel at the same time where you say it's connected to the first movie despite that you have given it to us. exact same story, someone is investigating the legend of Candyman, gets too immersed in the story and ends up becoming Candy Man, talking about the victim from the first Candy Man movie, Helen, she will appear in this movie, so I finally get an answer to what it is like to be the handyman through his eyes, to be one of the victims of Todd's atony and what appears to be passing the torch to another victim and this character played by Hob Abdul is actually one with which we are very familiar with.

You've seen the first Candyman movie. He mentions in the trailer that he feels very connected to the cabrini-green town where the first Candyman movie took place and that's because we got to see his character when he was a baby in the first Candyman. Fans theorized this would be the case, but now watching the book trailer confirms that this is the first Candyman's baby. You have the character saying that he just feels connected to the city, but the most telling thing is that he does. in front of her mother who is played by Vanessa Williams who is exactly the same actress who was in the first Candyman devastated when her baby disappeared and was kidnapped by Candyman that is why in the trailer her character is the most traumatized when hearing those words.

I love that little nod from Lytton, we don't say that word around here and basically confirm the terrible legacy that will have to continue or whatever Abdul's character will say. I guess he found me some other slight nods in the trailer that you might have. What die-hard Candyman fans miss is that they are shown that the original Candyman design from Clive Barker's novel goes by very quickly, but this is the exact same image which is a great little nod that they decided to include in the trailer upon reaching In some of the shots of Candyman in this trailer, he is largely a silhouette, a shadow in the background when he attacks his victims, not even visible to them, as if Candyman is only visible through a reflection in the shadows. , you could see it through the reflection of the In the window here you also see a shadow in the background and that Mir right there carrying it, that is common with Candyman and I love how they are bringing it to the modern era and many of you who are great Fans of Tony Todd as Candyman, don't worry, he said he will still appear in this movie, don't expect him to be the one holding the hook hand and doing most of the splicing throughout the movie, but Tony Todd already confirmed that Jordan Peele called him about the movie and they made a deal for him to be a part of this and if you're paying attention to the trailer, you can easily point out where Tony Todd's cameo will appear.

It's a very quick shot of Yahav Abdul who appears to be almost 90% done. complete with the transformation of him as Candyman, his face and eye are disfigured by the paint, the trench coat is the same trench coat we looked for at the beginning of the trailer when he was attacking the teenage girls, but the person to the left of him is wearing a saw to cut. He removes her hand from him and replaces it with a hook. This seems like the perfect little spot for Tony Todd to make a cameo in the movie and hand over the role of Candyman to the new Candyman.

The other way Tony Todd could appear in this movie is very slight. and maybe it's just my imagination, but in this shot here of Yabba Abdul's own reflection, he looks like a DHT Oni Todd and what he looked like in the original Candyman from 1992, if they managed to do that, throughout the movie, the new Candyman sweets. In his own reflection he sees Tony Todd. I think that's just poetic, it works and that makes those of us who respect the original Candyman a little bit, but those are just some of the
