5 things that surprised me about Hokkaido【Japan life】

May 30, 2022
and oh my gosh the milk in

hokkaido

is another level. meena sang konichiwa squishy talking yucka sol in today's video i'm going to talk about five

things

that

surprised

me about

hokkaido

so if you like videos like this don't forget to like and subscribe. and let's get started before i start this list i just want to quickly mention that i will only be talking about sapporo and hakodate in this video just because i haven't explored the rest of hokkaido yet so number one sapporo is surprisingly busy so think when you live in tokyo you think no other place in the world could be as busy as tokyo is famous for being a big and busy city so i was really

surprised

to see how busy sapporo station was it was crazy there were so many people in the station and the train platform was really packed and this wasn't even during rush hour so i was really surprised to see that but the more i thought about it the more sense it made sapro doesn't have that many train stat ions or trains so it has meaning that in the center of Sapro, the biggest train station has the most people.

The other thing I also noticed is that even though the train is busy, it's not busy for long. people tend to get off pretty fast. you don't have huge crowds of people on the train from one end to the other like you can definitely get to tokyo after two or three stops the train gets pretty empty number two everything is bigger so again with sapporo one of the

things

I immediately got I noticed that the buildings were a bit bigger and the roads were drastically wider than in Tokyo, for example, so even on the busiest day in Sapporo you can still walk and it's nice to know that no one is getting in your way. taking your time just because the roads are so wide is something i think you notice right away thats how the roads are wider you notice it instantly but yeah it makes the city nicer in my opinion number three food s I think this is the biggest difference and I think something that is really famous all over Japan is the fact that Hokkaido has so many different types of food that it is famous for, so the products dairy are really famous, which is why I think milk is the most notable. one and oh my god milk in hokkaido that's another level that's another level of milk it's really good and then obviously they have milk especially seiko mart and even Second Mark has milk for coffee which is just oh OMG it's the best I've ever drank honestly so yeah that's one of the most famous things I think it's also famous for seafood and uh ikameshi it's one of my favorite things that I look forward to getting every time i go uh corn like i don't know how corn can be famous for being from somewhere like me all corn used to taste the same until i went to hokkaido and i said yeah this is good this is the best corn i ever I've tried and yeah it's just a totally different type of food I think it's a li A little bit richer huh what they eat there which makes sense because the weather is so much cooler so I feel like you know you can eat heavier foods and that is totally fine.

More Interesting Facts About,

5 things that surprised me about hokkaido japan life...

Obviously, I have to mention the sapro beer. just get that in hokkaido and its my all time favorite beer and then they put out throughout the year limited sapro beer again only for hokkaido too and anywhere you look really in sapporo or hakodate just when i went to those two places if you go to a supermarket there are so many items that say hokkaido limited edition and i really haven't seen that much anywhere else in

japan

so if you go to hokkaido it's definitely a good idea to explore that just go to one of the supermarkets and look for all the stuff that they have limited edition hokkaido in them because there really are so many there is so much to try there even the melon ice cream is so good like who would have thought that would be so good but it is It's really really good so yeah it's definitely a great thing to see in hokkaido so weather number four so i feel like this one should be a no brainer i mean hokkaido is famous for its winter i guess because there is a lot of snow at lí and Honestly, it's beautiful, but I don't know, I was really surprised to see or feel the drastic drop in temperature, so just before I went to Hokkaido, it was quite hot here in Tokyo, so I was wearing t-shirts and basically living my La

life

was like it was already summer so i really struggled with what to pack when i went to hokkaido so i thought ok let me pack for mild weather not hot weather but mild weather it was a little mistake , it was much colder than I expected I wouldn't say it was winter weather definitely no snow although we'll get to that in a minute but yeah it was definitely much colder and had heat tech with a cardigan and honestly I think that maybe I should have packed a coat it was nice because the air was much cooler I think that's something that's very important to mention although there is a drop in temperature the air is much cooler in there so it was really nice le and yes amazing finally snow number five i know that sounds a little crazy. because as i said hokkaido is quite famous for snow but keep in mind i went in may and most places i went there was no snow i couldnt see anything until i went to makamana park and i was really surprised to see the snow was basically piled up next to the river it was like a little mountain of snow so I think they must have taken it from somewhere else and put it there out of the way and there was so much of it I was so surprised like why is it still here because it was Just that place where I saw snow?
5 things that surprised me about hokkaido japan life
There was no snow on the rest of Sapporo. It was just in that area and there were some trucks there as well so they had definitely moved it there but it hadn't melted and there was wa It's so much that I was really surprised to see it there even though the weather was relatively mild and there might still be snow so yeah I guess if you wanted to see snow in Sapporo but you could only go inside. It may technically still be there, you just have to search for it, but yeah, that really surprised me. I didn't expect to see that at all and honestly I have so many questions like why is it there.
5 things that surprised me about hokkaido japan life
Why hasn't it melted? Everybody knows? about this, is it a known thing that they keep snow in this area? love to explore more in the future because it's obviously such a big area and there's so much to see and do and yeah i really want to do that huh where else should i visit what do you guys think please be sure to comment down and yes thank you very much for looking and I see you next time bye
