5 HUGE PROBLEMS With The Tesla Model 3!
Jun 01, 2021good morning ladies and gentlemen I hope you are having a fantastic day if you are new to the channel. My name is Park Lanier enstein and this is Vehicle Virgins. A couple of months ago I was in this exact same place with a Tesla Model 3. The news is that today this is a similar Model 3 only with nicer wheels, a tent and everything is blacked out. I loved that car the way it drives, the price starts at $35,000 and right now you can get a government incentive for $7,500 off. We're getting a lot of cars for that money, and while the initial packages had to be high-spec now that they're becoming more and more common, you can get one for a reasonable price, even with a 0-60 time with the V-box. 4.4 seconds when it comes to tires which really aren't that good and I'm totally convinced that with the right rubber this could give something like the BMW m3 a run for its money, another positive for the car it doesn't work with . air suspension that the Model S has, the Model S has perfectly flat tracks, that's right, it has a decent amount of body roll, the crazy thing is this is not even the performance of the dual motor. 1 Tesla is going to introduce that and I have some serious personal
problems
.I'm interested in that, but because these are conventional springs, you can get an aftermarket lowering kit, stiffer springs, and it can actually ride like a real sports car. With the right wheels, the right tires, and the right suspension, it really is an amazing car, but you know me. They are virgin vehicles, no car is perfect, so here are five things I hate about the Tesla Model 3. The appearance of the Model 3 is controversial. It's a little quirky and nerdy, so to speak. The Model S and Model X look aggressive, they look mean. but the Model 3 when it comes from the factory looks a little smiley and childish.
That being said, there are many things you can do to prevent yourself from darkening certain pieces of the exterior trim, tinting the headlights, for example, putting black wheels. but the one thing that can't be done easily is fixing the nasty wheel gap. I don't understand that Tesla is all about making high performance machines that are on the cutting edge of technology and also helping the planet, at the same time you know that's not the case. I won't help the planet. This makes me so angry that I feel like it could cause a riot among all the car enthusiasts.
I can put my entire hand between the wheel space and the wheel itself. That just seems silly if this were to fall off about an inch. and a half would look a lot better, could actually drive better too, although it handles well in the seating position, it's perfect, the steering feel is excellent, it has instant throttle response considering it doesn't really have a conventional throttle , it's not the accelerator pedal. It's all electric, they lowered it a bit, still has plenty of clearance in the front, this car has never been scratched by anything and has been driven aggressively, the lowering kit fixed it at number two, the door handles for inside and out now.
I appreciate that Tesla created unique door handles that are integrated into the lines of the car's body, both for aerodynamic efficiency reasons and just the fact that you can walk up to your Tesla Model S, pull the door handles out, and it just looks cool. and They are these beautiful pieces of metal, you feel that the high quality is incredible, well, they try to do something similar with the Model 3. Now you have to keep in mind that this is a $35,000 car, although right when they came out you couldn't get it . one for under 50, but at the same time it seems like there are other cars in this price range and especially Tesla, being such an amazing brand, they could have done something a little better.
Now these door handles remind me of something like an Aston Martin or a Nissan GTR or even the back of a Lamborghini Huracan, you push here and you pull this little handle. Now unlike the GTR there isn't a lot of play in the handle itself, maybe a little but it just feels like it doesn't I don't know it's kind of cheap and then when you open the door this is my biggest complaint with the handles of the doors, there are two different versions, one is here and the other is this handle here, now you might want to pull this one. handle because how often are you used to pressing a button to open the door?
The problem is that when you pull this handle, a warning actually appears on the screen that I'll show you that actually says use the other handle, click this button because if you use the emergency latch in quotes and you potentially damage the window. I don't understand why they would design a door handle that will damage the car. Imagine you open your car door and then a warning appears saying yes, use the other car. The next thing I hate about the Tesla Model 3 has to do with this interior component here, it's the cover of a storage space where you can put your phone, in fact, it has a similar one here where you can actually charge your iPhone.
Great place for actual charging points here, but the problem is actually closing it when you press this aspect, it just doesn't close and then you get this warning that says lid closed gently, gracefully, like it's a door gently closed. It's obviously magnetic, but you do this, it's annoying. I opened the door by accident to get out and tell you the next thing I hated and yes, I clearly broke door six, the next thing I hate about the Tesla Model 3. One of my least favorite parts that is so fixable, so Tesla, for Please take this into account.
I'm sure you'll fix it in the performance variation on the dual motor variants, but I don't understand why in this car where you do it. talk about the performance and it's very impressive zero to sixty four point four to five seconds it's very very fast why do you put all season tires on it now? I would understand if maybe they were made in Michigan where there is snow, but their plant is in Fremont and unfortunately, fortunately, the amount of rain and snow in California is not that much and people can buy winter tires, especially if you are buying a car of this value, if you need them on request.
Put four SS on the high performance version of this car, fantastic choice, although these tires are absolutely rubbish, they shouldn't have had all seasons now regardless of brand, if they had put high performance summer tires on it, this car would be a lot. better handling acceleration everything now I know all seasons are more practical maybe these are harder compounds so it's more efficient the range extends but you know it's a blast and I think a lot of people would like to take this and finance performance, driving characteristics and situations, a better tire would really improve this car, this on the smart flower pilot, that performance has to be disgusting, which brings me to the last thing I hate about the Tesla Model 3 and that is its lack of a system conventional.
In normal cars, with a speedometer in place, you're looking ahead along the road and you can see a speedometer right between the steering wheel or maybe there's a head-up display so you know how fast you're going in the Model 3. I don't have that availability, the only speedometer is here now, it's somewhat conveniently located, but if you have your eyes glued to the road, even on my peripherals, I can't concentrate on the road and see what the hell it says. At the same time, that could actually be positive. I'm thinking now an officer says, sir, does he know how fast he goes?
And no, I have a
model
3. Haven't you seen the virgin videos of the vehicle? quick, you're going to have a little extra advantage that I don't like before we decide to go to the super charging station. I want to talk about superchargers. It can be a pain to have to stop depending on the state you are in. While Tesla is doing a fantastic job of really expanding the number of superchargers in this country, I've taken long road trips in a Tesla Model S in the middle of nowhere and haven't really had anyproblems
, not one dig at the superchargers by anyone. means, but it's obviously common sense that there aren't as many super charging stations as there are gas stations now, this isn't relevant on a daily commute, you just plug in yourmodel
3, go to work and come back and most likely If you live in California or a popular state, there will be a super charging station everywhere I am, in Southern California, you could charge this thing all the time anywhere, no problem, but I've never really done it.I've been a witness. my friend Brooks from drag times does it, but I'm going to see what happens if we actually load this and how fast it loads. Now I'm at a quarter of the range and it started with basically half to three quarters of a tank and I haven't said it, half to three quarters of a tank of range and I haven't really driven it that hard, but if you're going to drive a Model 3 very fast, range will run out quickly and then, well, I'll fly to charge it. Another small detail that I don't like is the lock and unlock button.
Is this here bouncing? I can't, I can't push him. I'm not sure why they wouldn't. I've put a lock button, maybe the size of one of these things here. I mean, I feel like mom can unlock it. It is as relevant as accessing your music or your recent calls, especially if you know that you are going to listen to music, but recent calls. it should definitely have the same button size as lock and unlock, attend the station, well, we finally get to the Tesla super charging station, so just open this here, perfect, so we're actually appearing before a real semblance of a Tesla super charging station. upon returning, it's literally Tesla charging everywhere.
I have free rein to figure out where to park. Oh wow, very nice graphics, so this is actually my first time at a Tesla super charging station. I myself am responsible for charging the Model 3 the last time I was with Brooks. The Model 3, something to note, doesn't actually come with free super charging, but charging almost the entire range of this thing will only cost you about five bucks. My is 63, which we drive here as a camera car, for example. around 60 to 70 dollars, this is a good deal, how fast does it charge really. We'll show you in real time with the time lapse accelerated on a timestamp how long it takes, but essentially it's capable of 500 miles of range. in an hour, that means in about 20 minutes you can fill almost all of this if you're on a quarter tank or so, in 20 minutes you only get some lunch, so let's go ahead and plug this in, go ahead and get this out.
So there's actually a button here that you can click that opens the flap so you can insert this into model 3. Now let's see what happens. How long it takes? How much reach can we expand? Look at that, guys, what it says right there. The screen's remaining time to fully charge is only 50 minutes and that's a full charge, let's see what happens well 25 minutes later and the car tells me it's essentially 95 percent charged, obviously it's going to take a little bit longer for that last 5% but Now I have 288 miles of range out of 310, pretty good let's go ahead and unplug this, by the way every place here is full of Tesla's it's an interesting thing to know because if you show up well everything will be detected .
It's kind of a bummer, but incentivizing people to leave when their car is done charging because some people keep their cars here overnight or for too long, they actually charge you for every minute your car stays here after being fully charged. It's great. The thing about the Model 3 is the price aspect. This is a $50,000 car, now a Rolls-Royce Dawn that is extremely sexy, in no way comparable to the twin-turbo V-12. Terrible fuel economy. Extremely luxurious. It's a Rolls-Royce. that costs eight of these eight, well there you have it, there are five things I hate about the Tesla Model 3 and a bunch of things I love.
Having this charging experience for the first time was very very cool and overall I am absolutely in love with the car. I can't wait until they come out with that dual motor version. We need to get our hands on one ASAP, so make sure you don't miss any more Tesla or high-end content. end car reviews or just daily lifestyle vlogs with me, make sure to hit the subscribe button, give this video a big thumbs up and as always, I hope to see you in the next video.
