Feb 27, 2020
Today, you guys, I spent over $400 on my

monthly

trip to Costco and I don't regret it one bit. Hey guys, Kira here from Fifty Shades of Mom, tips for all the nuances of mom life and in this video I have a Costco tour for you. so I spent four hundred and twenty-four dollars inside that store today and normally I would feel very guilty about spending that amount of money inside the grocery store, but I left without any guilt. I bought so many amazing non-food items you guys. items food things will last more than a month. I got a lot for my money so I'm excited to show you what I found so let me take you to the counter and I'll show you what I got for my January. trip to Costco okay guys so here's a not so quick overview of what I got at Costco for four hundred twenty five dollars and aside from the two big ticket items we'll go over first I feel like I got a lot for the extra money so that those two big ticket items are the two big items that you see here on the floor and the first one is this three in one platform hand truck, so if you are not new to my channel, then you know that this house is temporary and we We're moving in just a couple of months so we have to move out of here and then move somewhere else and when we brought our dressers into this house we had to rent a hand truck from Home Depot so we would have already had to rent one to get back to place the furniture, so we're already saving money right there, so the first few times we use this it will pay for itself, it did.

Originally $99 and then went on sale for $74.99 so I thought it was a really good price. I feel like the tires are really diesel, not those normal worn tires I've seen on other trucks. They look very, very sturdy and I like it. The fact that it's a bunch of different things, like that three-in-one, which has a way of transporting it like a normal handcart, but then you can use it as a cart, either as a slim version for wood or as a version big for big tubs and stuff, but like I said, I feel like it was a good investment for my husband.

I know he's really excited about this and then the other thing I decided to buy was this kit now that I used to work. at Bed Bath & Beyond when he was younger. I can't say much younger when I first had Jacob when he was in his early 20s. He was doing the night shift at Bed Bath & Beyond and one of my favorite products became the oxy line, this is a very popular Line at Bed Bath and Beyond more specifically, but they have some of the best quality pieces. If you want to invest money, invest in Aqsa brand.

This is not sponsored. It's literally been one of my if he's not going to do it. glass like a mason jar, so this is the only plastic container I would recommend and I prefer the ones with the hinged lid. You can see here that you push the lid down in the center and that's what locks it in place, but They're very, very easy to use, they're plastic. I wanted to switch more to glass jars, but this is what I would prefer my kids to use. They are still expensive if my kids broke them but I prefer them to drop a plastic then drop a glass and this is a 12 piece set.

I'm going to show you what's on the other side. Wait, let me turn it around. These are the measurements of the containers inside, so they are two of the four small squares. the short rectangular one, two of the large square, two of the large square, medium, one of the tall small square and one of the tall rectangle, and if you were to look for them or buy them separately, it is absolutely surprising how expensive they can be if you buy them . individually and then I searched for Beth and Beyond and when we searched for 10 pieces it was $99.
Now you can use 20% off at Bed Bath & Beyond, bringing it down to $80, which is the cost of this: seventy-nine ninety. nine, but here you get 12 pieces, so for the same price you get two additional pieces, which is a no-brainer in my opinion. They won't even open it in this house, maybe, but you could save. It's for when we moved, but this is one of those things that had an asterisk on the sign. I went to Vanessa and Mark, she said she had just watched the Make It on a Dime Video with Costco Hacks and I should have watched that video myself, but she.
He was smart to know we were going and he watched the video that taught him little tricks on how to go to the grocery store, which was awesome because the little signs that are posted up here, if they have an asterisk, they mean that once it was sold out . won't appear again, so it's really good to know when you're shopping in a store to help you make decisions about whether or not to go ahead with purchasing that item, as well as whether the item has a seven on the end of it's price. lowest you will get this item, so it doesn't get any better than this.
It simply compares to everything on the market. This is the best product at the best price for the most parts I have seen. I saved it or use it now. I couldn't pass it up, there were only a few left, so I had to put one in my cart, but other than that and some multivitamins, those are my only non-food items, everything else was stuff. which I needed, so I found some small chickens. I looked at the measurements here and it says eight point two eight pounds, which means they average a little over four pounds, which will be perfect for the grill, so I bought a two-pack of those gourmet cheese nachos from Rico, but with the Super Bowl and stuff coming up and the fact that using Google and finding out that it can be frozen was the most economical for me because I don't have a lot of refrigerator space. but I have a freezer, so everything I don't use I'll freeze or freeze in those meal prep containers in a bunch of different portions, so whenever we make Arby's sandwiches, something like that, I can pull out the good ones. that I use, so it was six dollars.
I thought it was the best price for something so big, so I bought it, bought some vinegar for my clothes, and picked up this little cereal. I've never seen this before. It's Nature's Path. You know, we love that brand of pop charts and oatmeal and the things they give to kids. This is like a sampler pack of their cereal and it was on sale for a very, very cheap price. I'll raise the price right here. Because I don't have the receipt with me, but I think it's an amazing price for this and it has Amazon flakes, which are like frosted flakes and then a cheetah that looks more like that blue fruit cereal that my kids like: the marshmallow, like this which I hope there's something like that and then the chocolate chimps, which are, you know, any kind of chocolate cereal that my kids would like, like cocoa puffs or something, so if they really like it, then that's great. , we check it.
On the back, all the ingredients were really good so I'm excited to give my kids a block of sharp cheddar cheese and if you watched my vlog I posted on Saturday, if not I'll link it above. I thawed my cheese and then put it in the refrigerator for a while and was able to shred it without it falling apart, so that was very exciting for me. I took another block. I'm going to crush it before freezing it, but. at least I know that if I freeze the block before crushing it, it's possible to do it without falling apart, which is awesome.
I don't know how I missed these eggs guys, but I got the five dozen pack of cage free eggs I throw them back and forth back and forth am I going to get my pack of really expensive organic brown eggs or am I going to get these and for two dollars cheaper and three dozen more I had to go for this? Because we use so many eggs and to be honest these are not bad, they were raised on 100% vegetarian food, without hormones or antibiotics, so I like the products that they are, so I decided to make a change and try this for one .
I don't know, I just couldn't say no. I bought your butter. I used to buy butter at BJ's. I miss her so much, but this was exactly comparable. It's four pounds for ten dollars, there's nothing better than good quality butter. 250, so I'll try it. Everyone says yes the butter at Costco is great so I'm going to give it a try. I'll let you know on my next tour and then I bought the blueberries from Driscoll's, they look delicious my kids. I reviewed all the blueberries last week and then our Campari tomatoes, talking about tomatoes. I had Maya in mind when I bought the flavor bombs.
These things are amazing and the crap tastes like it came straight off the vine because, well, it's straight off the vine. I definitely enjoyed it, those guys got some Driscoll strawberries, this was five dollars and 98 cents so I think it was actually cheaper than the Walmart reversal. I blame myself because I'm pretty sure I said Walmart beat Costco, but now I could be wrong. I don't know, I'll put it on the screen. I'll compare

prices

, but I thought it was a good deal, especially for Driscoll's. The one at Walmart is not Driscoll's and we love that brand so I got that for our strawberries we have a good pork chops thing.
We haven't had pork chops in a long time. Darrell prefers center cut and this was a great deal 1198 and I'll get two meals out of it so I picked it up. a great thing about Purdue's Panko Bread Chicken Nuggets. This is not the woman I found on New Year's Eve and that is the one she was looking for. I searched everywhere. I was very sad that I couldn't find it. She was like good old Tyson, all natural. They didn't have it there so I ended up with this one but I feel like the best deal was the ones Tyson won so I'll keep an eye out for that next time and then guys I'm excited to try these tacos if I've been looking at any of my Trader Joe's

haul

s from the past.
You know, I really love those little mini tacos that I get there, but this was six dollars and 98 cents for seventy-two of them. I swear it has to be at least three times if not four times the amount for the same price, so I had to get it. I can use it for a super bowl and freeze the extras, so I'm really excited to try them. I'll let you know how I bought them. These crispy vegetable spring rolls have plum sauce packets. I really love plum sauce, so it sounds really good. Test it. There are many things here.
Look how many there are here. There are so many. So I'll use them for In the future, any kind of oriental style dinner I make, you know, but I'll also use them for the Super Bowl for Paige, since she's more of a vegetarian and vegan, this was something I know she would eat. and it sounds delicious anyway. so we will definitely use the leftovers in the future. I have Cloverdale with cured beef Smokies. There are two packs here, so I'll use them for the Super Bowl as well and then down here is the Caprice and Caprice Sons one hundred percent juice.
I don't normally buy these. Mason likes these, although I know he would prefer the organic beginnings of it, but it was such a good deal that he was unmarked from $9.99 to $6.99 $6.99 for the juice one hundred percent. He couldn't go wrong with the 40 juice boxes, so he has 20 crisp fruits, ten berries, ten apples. My kids will love it so I bought it and then two boxes of the six packs of water. I have literally been boiling my pasta with them. I prepare my coffee with everything I need. water for baking pancakes, that kind of thing. I've only been using this so you can see I'm definitely not a fan of water here so I stocked up on two six packs of that, I got a five pack of these heads of romaine lettuce.
I really like these because they are small in size. I thought it was fine. They are generally large packages of lettuce. I could never use them before everything goes bad, but this was only 399 for these five smaller pieces and I feel like this is something we would really go through, so I took it. I bought this white cheese, so I was debating whether or not I wanted to eat it. It's mom's white cheese with diced green chiles and it's all natural. I looked on my back, it has pretty decent ingredients in it and it was like $6.99, so I thought that's actually cheaper than a pound of the cheese that I buy to make Trey's cheese, so I thought, you know what?
Also, I still have to buy the green chiles or something when I do and the cream cheese for this price I'm going to try it especially like I said with the good ingredients and if it's good we'll try it at the Super Bowl and if it's good then I'll definitely continue coming back and buying this. I got a large three pound container of sour cream Daisy with tons of recipes this weekend with Super Bowl sour cream kneading. The three pound container was the best way to do it. I got a four pack of one. pound of bacon this is something that really impresses me.
I loved the bacon at BJ's. I always thought it was a great price. This one is a little more expensive than the ones you would get at BJ's, but sometimes you pay for it. the BJS bacon would be so thin that when I cooked it it was chunks of bacon, but it still comes out nice big chunks and I've really been enjoying this bacon, we still have one in the freezer, but I don't intend to go back, you know, probably until end of February or so if I can avoid going to Costcomore than once a month, I would love to, so at least I have all this, I have it for everything I need.
I have a pack of three. of sliced oven-roasted turkey breast. I feel like it was the best option for what I needed. Also, the expiration date is March which I think is really good. We'd prefer the freshest cut from the deli, but I have some ideas for sandwiches and things I wanted to make for a Super Bowl, so I want to make them where I can just open a lunch container. I just won four Super Bowls. I still have one in the back for maybe next week trying to eliminate what I really need to get at the store. for next week so I tried to validate why this would be a good idea and the cost was also very good so I'll let you know what that's like again on my next Costco run if you see me buying this good food.
It stirs, it says below trash-free bakery. I love it, I've been raving about their Walmart brownies over and over again and this one is more of a fall style bread, this was one of those things that had an asterisk with a seven on the end because it was $3.97 that's right, say it with me three dollars and 97 cents which means it's like a dollar 33 or something like a dollar 32 and a half per loaf of bread that you can make. three minimum of this pumpkin chocolate chip bread and that sounds so delicious. I make one like that, but it's nice to have a mix in the cabinet and for a dollar and trade it in as something that's a junk-free bakery where you're still eating a treat. but they're all good ingredients, this makes me very happy and the expiration date is eleven thirteen out of twenty twenty, so I have until November to make this, so I'll probably make one every once in a while leave it in the pantry.
I'll be doing one in September and one in October and it will be available now and again it's something fun to do with the kids on a rainy day, maybe we'll do it sooner who knows but for $3.97 you might not say no to that, so keep an eye on your Costco if you're looking for them because it sounds amazing, everything we've had from them has been amazing. I have the Heinz ketchup plain, I normally buy the organic ketchup, but This was a great deal for the plain and 3 pack, so I bought the Disney organic Gala apples, picked them up, and then picked up these two chip things.
I really love, love, love these see grain free tortilla chips this is a Sea Salt they had this as a small sample but I have tried them many times. I bought them at Thrive Market, but while I was there for this price I would rather have them. They are made with avocado oil. They are so, so, so delicious and if I'm going to cheat on a chip it's going to be that one so I'm excited to have them and then they were on sale for a crazy price they were only like four dollars it's the four or five oh five chicharrones fried chicharrones and this is in the classic chili and salt, so I think I'm going to run this through my food processor and break it down and put it in a jar and use it as breadcrumbs also I've used them before as an outside topping, but why I never thought of using it like inside a meatball surprises me, why that never occurred to me, but when I said that when I was making meatloaf I was struggling a little to find something lower in carbs to put in it than breadcrumbs, someone said why not grind cracklings and that's just, why does it never occur to me that I have used this as a coating?
Why not think about using? I'll put it in a meatloaf, so I'll grind it all up and put it in one of my mason jars and in the pantry and I can use it for myself when I'm making something that I want to do a little more. low carb something that isn't low carb though is the king's hawaiian rolls don't you just love how i make it? See everything in moderation. This is for the Super Bowl. I saw something really cool that I want to do and you basically make a Hawaiian. Hawaiian roll slider so you use it like ham, provolone cheese and pineapple slices and you put a base like this with brown sugar and butter on top and it sounds so delicious and different than a normal slider so I thought it would be something fun . to do at the Super Bowl party.
I love pineapple in so many things and I feel like everyone would like this too. It's a double package. I'm going to freeze one and use another for another recipe this week, so it was definitely a good deal. I think this was five dollars and thirty cents, so I think it's even a better deal than BJ's. It was so approved that Hillshire Farm was on sale for eight dollars and it's 311 ounce packages and it's their all-natural honey roasted ham, so I understood that's what I'm going to use for that Hawaiian slider and then I don't think You need all three bags, so you can use one for this week's lunches or just throw one in the drawer because it will last. for a while too, so try to be smart and buy the pre-packaged ones so I can only use what I need.
Look at this, you guys tell me this isn't Maya, so this says a beat, super foods, organic pepper trio strips, so this. it's like those peppers that she loves in the bag, but they're crunchy, so they're like veggie chips or something, but they're literally just the peppers that she likes crunchy in the heat and I feel like she's going to love them. They were super cheap it was one of those asteroid things that they said wouldn't come back so it went in my cart I hope she doesn't love them too much because I don't know if I'll be able to get them again but they sounded delicious and I feel like she'll love them so I got them I bought for her and then got the link to a monk fruit sweetener.
I have been using this as a sugar replacement and feel like this is the turnaround. Well, the granules but it has a different color. I feel like this monk fruit is the closest to real sugar, like regular white sugar, so I put it in my sugar bowl and Gerald doesn't even know when he makes it. your coffee doesn't use it like normal sugar, you have no idea you are using this, that's how good it is, so I suggest this one if you are looking for a sugar replacement that is the closest to the right thing, they are simple white sugar, I like.
I just bought this multivitamin at Walmart for the kids, but I'll put the price of this on the screen. I might also raise the

prices

on everything if I haven't told you, if I have time, mom edits this, but at least I will definitely raise the price of this because it was an incredible deal like nine bucks or something for the two packs of 160 tablets. I think I paid $5 for 60 or something ridiculous, so I don't know how I feel. That was a great deal, it's just Kirkland brands, but I'm sure it's like any other complete multivitamin, so I bought it for the kids.
I hear my kids fighting upstairs, do you hear them? They obviously don't understand that mom is filming like me. I need to mute the settings button or something. I have tons of mayonnaise. I almost used my jar of mayonnaise because I had to make my ranch dressing and I know I'll have salads and stuff in the next couple of days. weeks, so I bought this. It's not a better deal than BJ's. It's like a dollar fifty, even more than I used to pay, but I won't trade anything for my Hellmann's and I always need the big container, so I bought it and then.
Last but not least, I bought this and it sounded really good, so it's the Columbus brand, which I like. This brand was only twelve dollars, which I think is really good for the amount of meat you get. inside here, but I'm going to take this out and make some, you know, pepperoni cheese biscuits, a little boring to be surmountable and it says here it's a charcuterie sampler, but look how good everything is here, so there's Hand-rolled pepper salami. in ground black peppercorns there is Genoa salami, a mixture of ground black pepper and fresh garlic, mmm, there is the calabrese, which is spicy with red chili, it definitely has a little heat and then you have the Italian dry salami, which is Burgundy wine and a touch. of garlic tender chorizo with smoked paprika and fresh garlic which definitely has some heat but is delicious and then the Posada which is probably one of my all time favorite Italian meats and it's sweet fennel and chilli and that's also really delicious, so I'll use some for my homemade lunches, you know, all week, but some will be for the Super Bowl and then when we're not using them, we can eat them all next week too because things like This is how They dry, they will last a while in the refrigerator, so it's not like a normal deli meat, but okay guys, that was it, my four hundred and twenty-five dollars at Costco for the month of January, okay guys.
That was it, that was my big, crazy $425 January run to Costco. I hope you enjoyed it and if you did, be sure to give this video a big thumbs up. If you are new here, be sure to subscribe. button I share all kinds of things related to groceries and food on this channel and will share a Costco

haul

at least once a month. I used to go to BJ's once a month so this is definitely my replacement and next week you guys will be getting Trader Joe's in addition to my normal eight week grocery shopping so I hope you enjoy.
I love you all so much and I will see you in the next one.
