ing means more expensive means more better, let's find out we bought two identical nissan 350zs and we have been modifying them to be fun daily drivers that you can take off the track, one z gets really expensive cool parts and the other z gets the cheap stuff, then we test them to see which components are really worth spending your money on. We've compared coilovers, brakes, wheels, tires, we've turbocharged both of our cars and today we're adding some things that don't necessarily improve the performance of the car, but when you look good you drive good, at least that's what I hope.

These are 800 unreal tail lights from a company called Unique. I heard that Zach Jobe can potentially program them any way we want. We have some. xk incandescent headlight bulbs here are 150 dollars, they are more advanced than I knew headlight bulbs could be, we also have a downlight kit, this one was 250, I can sync both with my phone, strobe and changing colors you better pay attention just because you might be driving home one day it means work is coming up behind you and it's like showing them blues and reds man they pull you over we'll beat you up okay I'll keep an eye out for the Low car, we have 400 dollars. of eBay lights, let's dig in and see what we get.

More Interesting Facts About,

400 light kit vs 1200 light kit...

Both boxes of our lights are the same boxes so we suspect they were the same lights, they definitely are, they have the same design for sure and what we think happened is the The guy we bought these from buys the Nolan lights and then upgrades them with cool LED elements inside them. Yeah, I'm actually kind of excited that a card guy made these instead of a stock low car and it has a little bit of shine too. James oh boy it's just a strip of lights we'll have to fix ourselves, I guess he has tape on the back and comes with a bunch of zip ties so I'm sure this will be nice and secure.

You might have gotten some headlight bulbs so we got a full headlight housing what do you think mate it looks like it has guns yeah two two three two I'm so excited mate I love it It's so perfect for low carb, they were $213, I think they're worth each. penny yeah so we have our 400 setup here we have our

setup here and the question is can the cheap stuff flex as hard as the expensive stuff? Do yours change color? No, it hasn't been a good start, it's time to get the car out low. I've been waiting for this episode the entire time we've been filming the series, so I'm going to remove the original taillights that are held in place by three 10 millimeter bolts that are hidden underneath them.

Little plastic tabs here come off pretty easy and then according to the internet you just pull them to the sides, there are these little tabs that hold them on, there you go, oh I see a problem with the aftermarket light wiring. Don't use this type of plug, this might be harder than I thought, so basically we have to connect the stees to the battery. The steezbones connect to the battery bones. These things can change like 30,000 different colors using your phone 16 million james 60 million yeah, are you kidding me? No, I can't even name 16 million colors, buddy, you better get started.
Red, green, orange, pink, purple, teal, light teal, light purple, neon green, deep blue, maybe make a headlight, make sure it fits and then it works, so this is the bulb that was in the auto, it's hidden, uh, this is the h7 connector that the xk glow kit was based on, which is a very different connector than the one on the bulb, so we can cut some things out. solder a few things and get it working, but it's a bit of an unforeseen hurdle. It's not a plug-and-play system like we thought it would be. Aaron will have to do some custom wiring.
Now it will take at least an hour to get it working. I guess the only thing you can do is try the headlights, it smells like farts in here sorry, oh okay listen we're going to make these color changing bulbs work one way or another, which is why this car has hids , so you have this little transformer box. here basically power comes in, it becomes high intensity and then it discharges into the headlight bulb, so we'll just cancel that thing all together, cut the wires here, run those wires to our new bulbs and we should be ready to check in 20 Minutes since we bought this car, there's been condensation on the headlights, uh, and we never addressed it because you know how low life, so many zip ties holding this damn car together, dude, the second light is on, so this is it our first test. with the new headlights, nolan ready, go ahead, aaron, let's make those headlights do colors, uh, yeah, so we're going to connect this directly to the battery for now.
I was planning on doing it, you know, as a fuse box ignition source, but we don't have much time and well, that's it. We started this show to compare expensive parks to cheap parts, but I also want to add that it's about comparing expensive parts to cheap parts on a very tight schedule, so we have party lights. This ooh red, white and blue, today I'm going to tackle a new steering wheel, oh honey, a new three-spoke steering wheel. I don't even know what you would call this finish, but I think it matches the spirit of the car very well.
Before installing a new wheel, it is very important that you disconnect the battery. Why, because of your airbag, you don't want to blow your hands up working on your car. That would be very unfortunate. Along with our wheel, we also have a quick release hub. a race car thing, you know, having the wheel out makes it easier to get in and out of your car, especially with racing seats, we're going to remove this plastic wheel face underneath, there will be the bag assembly of air, which is why we disconnected it. On the battery there will also be a nut that holds the steering wheel to the steering column.
Once we loosen it, we can slide the steering wheel off and begin the process of installing a new steering wheel. This is the dumbest tool for this job, but whatever. That was scary, our aftermarket brake lights came with four wires, two of them are black, one is green and the other is green with a white stripe, so just to check, although I'm pretty sure which one does what That I have here. which tests continuity and gives 12 volts so it's very easy when you're trying to figure things out, when the whole circuit beeps then you have continuity.
I'm going to give 12 volts to one of the green wires to determine which one it is. This is the green wire with the white stripe that is probably your running light. Then I'm going to go to the green wire and do the same since it's brighter. That's the brake light. Now you know which is which. I want to cut the wires until you know exactly what does what because it's not very easy to repair the brake light they look great I mean they're not much different than the originals but I like the design this thing is loud I love it .
Debating on how we are going to route the cables. I think the ideal would be to go under the mat inside, but again we don't have much time so I'm debating whether or not there is a good option to go under the car and just go up to the taillights that way, but it doesn't show very good on this door panel. Now we have power and ground to our taillight harness, so I guess I'll plug them in and see if they work well. The work is working on the back. Lights I'm going to put up our under lighting kit to make sure we have all of our parts.
Up to this point, all we've done on both cars is add the fast, but today we're going to add the furious you can get. any beer you want as long as it's a corona family oh yeah that's how people know we're serious oh hello honey you want to relax in the car, don't pee hello little bird hello look at this come on come on oh I'm Frank. We're about to plug this tail light in let's see if it does anything, let's see it buddy, give me a plug, buddy, give me a plug, plug me in, watch Zach Jobe's new show, money man, oh yeah, actually you know what, Go ahead and look at Zack. new jobs show cash only in donut media he is building a sick miata and we encourage you to keep going we are doing it with a budget in mind you have been asking for a mid size car i think the miata is mid card it has a good point baby that's a good plug now plug me in like this okay cool and let's see what happens buddy.
Hey, I could be stopping or I'm, this is what you call steazin for no reason, yeah, okay, so the taillights are on and it's time to work on moving. uh, in the underglows, yes, you are right, uh, yes, are you missing some hardware? I don't know, probably okay, let's move on to the underglows, okay, here we go, it works, yeah, oh, that's a cool noise when this thing is on z days. I'll be pretty pumped I think it looks good I feel like a grandma right here This is like a Nascar yeah, super Nascar I like the way it feels and it's surprisingly easy to install Time to install the shiners that came with these little channels things you screw on in the car and they hold the lights so we have a drill we have an impact driver and we're ready to go honey let's go a little further forward and a little further forward the taillights are in and they work the headlights They're on and they're working and the glows are in place and they're working, so now it's all the tedious stuff that hides all the wires that tie things together and all that kind of junk.
This is a universal kit, so they gave us enough. wire to wire of a semi truck this part sucks cheap it's just cheap our 25 lights are so small we're going to have little bits of light shining from under the car instead of everything looking great look at it on the steering wheel up here, so everything is connected, it's working, it seems a little silly but super fun, let's commit some crimes. I love crimes. I love committing crimes with you. You guys are great at committing crimes. Street fishing is not a crime, yeah that's good enough, we don't have enough length to put all our lights where they should be to make the car look good, I think I could do this.
I think four very, very thin wires, that's right. This is the worst cable you could ever work with, the only way this is any good is when you buy it and you just don't touch it because the cable is so fragile that if you bend it a little too hard it breaks and then you ruin your length no , that's under the sway bar, come on man, yeah I know, I wish it would go through the car like that, get along with these guys, a bunch of armchair quarterbacks can't believe this, you know coffee sometimes it's good.
You just have to drink it and he was able to do it. What we ended up doing was using a slightly larger wire, from a very thin 24 26 gauge to 18 gauge, a pretty decent wire because it's so long that it could burn out our LED or damage the little driver in the long run, but for now we can look legit, let's see if we can make these things work, no dude, no dude, oh how ridiculous, I love this, I think it turned out pretty good for 25 bucks, yeah dude, 50 bucks. overall now you have it I love it it looks great it's generating light it may not be as bright as ours but I think at night this will look amazing it costs 25 you can't go wrong put this in my room there's only one more What can I do It's waiting for the sun to set and crowding around with my children.
I think this is like my boxer briefs, honestly, that's going to be worn. So, more expensive means more is better. I'm going to say yes, yes, really yes. Our remote controls barely work, yes. We had to get extra wiring to run the lights all the way to the back, oh yeah but hey for 20 something bucks I think it's a good value, I just think the top components on the car are better quality, the fact that the high team ended up spending. over twelve hundred dollars just to make the car more fun, I think that's smiles per dollar, you guys destroyed us in this challenge.
I think there's a lot less chance of us getting pulled over with our taillights than the things they mean because when we hit the brakes they cause epileptic seizures in people those headlights are atrocious like a tribal arm that's what the car is missing but that's why I chose them they fit the cars so well I think I choose to delight in them yes, totally, totally. I'm 100 percent on board with the styling of this car, Nolan, which one would you buy by component? I think I would go with the expensive LEDs just for peace of mind and ease of use.
Taillights. I think I would choose the cheap ones. one, uh, they work well and won't get me arrested. I'm going to use the car's high beams on this. I think I'm the same. I think it's the car's high headlights. The car's taillights dim and it would probably go down. car neons just because I can't tell the difference at the end of the day this was all just to be fun and I thinkthat both cars are super fun, so I'd rather do it at a fifth of the price, thanks. Guys, a lot to watch thread, this episode and all the previous episodes, uh, next week is the last of the z, it's the final battle on the track, it's the final confrontation between the high car and the low car, what mods They will emerge victorious, James, I can't. wait to find out we have a lot of new shows we ain't slowing down guys donut every day official from now until the day I die follow us on donut media on all social media follow nolan nolan jay psykes follow me on jamespumphrey, thanks.
