More Interesting Facts About,

It pulls out and locks in a normal position like all other cars; However, inside there is a second position to lock it. It makes it much easier to hide larger, taller objects underneath, so the second path to this interior is certainly impressive. Let's start with space. There's so much space back here. I'm five foot ten. There's plenty of legroom, headroom, and space-wise too. two adults three kids absolutely no problem and speaking of kids if you guys are worried about car seats in terms of latches there is one set on this side one on that side and you get an extra one in the middle which is really unique now in In terms of these seats, they are nice and big, they are well padded, they are very comfortable and the backrest can be adjusted, you can lean back and forth which is really nice and in terms of this cover that looks like leather , actually it's not because this is the Onyx xt.

The Subaru edition equipped this with a material called Startex, which is more or less like leather, it looks good, it actually feels pretty good, but the main benefit is that it is very easy to clean if you spill things, water, juice , milk or dirt, whatever. It's actually very easy to clean, it's waterproof, what about the amenities? Well, you've got some back here too, you've got a couple of vents here, you've got heated seats, which is a bonus, and you've got two USB ports, so overall it's very impressive here in the second row, the other new addition to the 2021

outback

is the rear seat reminder system that alerts you to check the rear seats when leaving, well moving to the front, starting with these seats, they actually look very sporty to me, there are definitely good contours and nice bolsters on the side to hold you up and that's a surprise for the interior, but I'll let you know how comfortable they are once I start driving.

This is actually a very attractive steering wheel, you have some nice ones in my opinion. aluminum trim running to the right and the overall design looks modern. I like it now, as for the buttons, it controls the adaptive cruise control that is part of the view and is standard on all Subarus. Is really nice. The view has more functions, but one of them. It's the adaptive cruise control and here there is a volume source voice control. There are a few other things right, so let's take a look at this and the little menu in the gauge cluster.
Now this just shows miles per hour and your fuel economy, but then you can increase the time, outside temperature here's the radio, nothing, you have a compass, which is really important on the inside, your tpms and then take a look to the rest, I mean, these are clearly analog, a great tactic and then also your miles per hour here and the fuel. but of course you can also see a digital version there, now moving down here. This is for the power tailgate. This is a dimmer. You turn off the power tailgate. This is a pretty standard mirror and window control, though take a look.
It automatically goes up and down on all the windows and into this huge, really cool infotainment system. This is part of the navigation package which is optional and this Onyx xt I am reviewing has it, there is an emergency light volume. to turn the radio on or off this is for the front defroster you can manually change the temperature up or down on both sides on the right and I like the fact that there are physical buttons for this because I will show you that most of it is controlled via touch and some of you may not like that but here are heated windows and defroster this is for tuning the radio okay those are the physical buttons there aren't that many and that's actually a good thing because you don't want this to be crowded. with a lot of things, you have navigation radio apps for phone, you have a lot of things, Apple Carplay, Android Auto are standard, don't worry right, and then you can move to the side, so add shortcuts, it works like your phone, I'll say. the interface is a little slow, it's not the most responsive interface, of course, at the top it gives you the essentials, what radio, outside temperature, time, all that good stuff, now this is like the home button, like this that if you are into something and you want to obtain it. outside, let's say navigation and you say, oh, how do I get out?
Just press the start button and go, x mode is interesting because only the xt models get this and this onyx xt does it basically with more traction control settings so right now. You have normal but there is one for snow and dirt and one for deep snow and mud so if you ever find yourself in deep snow or deep mud you need to get out you can select it now of course the Subaru and all the other Subarus come. standard with the symmetrical all-wheel drive system, which is already phenomenal, but this just adds a whole different layer to it.
What about driver assistance? These are some of the safety features you get standard with visual pre-collision braking, right? They use these two cameras. Up here to see what's going on in front of you, it will warn you that it will automatically stop and also look at the lanes, so if you're trying to swerve or you're leaving in a group, it'll tell you to take a look. just the warning chime and then you can disable just the prevention feature or all the features so right now it is just warning you but if you want you to take action you can do all the features like that and it will keep you in the lanes and Finally you have BSD and RCTA and that's blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.
Now this is integrated with the climate control so you notice there's really no climate control here other than what's down here so I told you about these physical buttons if you didn't want to use that just tap your side and then you'll be able to see that you can go up or down to the right, so this is what I was talking about. This reminds me a lot of Volvo's infotainment system. It works the same way for sinking. and then if you want to turn on the heated seats, this is how you would do it, there you go, this is how you can set it up on both sides.
I'm going to turn off the heated seats because I don't want my seats to be heated. right now and you could also do it on the passenger side, you have dual climate zones here, don't try it, so just the left and right side now, if you didn't want to mess with any of that, you could just go here to the right and this. is where you go full automatic AC max and then you can change it manually, the fan speed and all that good stuff if you want, it looks like this closes pretty quickly, so a couple of times I'll show you that it just closed so you can annoying now down here, this is the electronic parking, you have two more USB ports there, you have wireless charging here, it's actually quite deep, so you could put your phone in there, moving, this is a normal gear shift, thanks to God, so there is nothing to learn again.
The only thing you have to worry about is if you want to go into manual mode, go down and then go, there are two big, big cup holders down there, and this thing pops up that's pretty unique and take a look at the armrest so you have a couple of stages, the first stage is very shallow for pens or maybe credit cards, business cards, whatever, but you can see there are two ways to open this and then the other way around, another way is this and then you have another 12 yellow ones here, more space, so I'm a fan of these dual configurations, although sometimes you have to remember which one opens what here you have the sos button, the info button and you have a sunroof, unfortunately only a normal size one, It's not panoramic, but at least it lets in some light and that's always good the nice big rear view mirror you have a compass here and some start link buttons down here as well as for the motors there are two to choose from the base is a boxer 2.5-liter engine that produces 182 horsepower, but most exciting is the optional 2.4-liter turbo boxer engine that produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque that is equipped in this Onyx xt.
Both engines are mated to a CVT transmission that simulates an 8-speed automatic. Alright, let's go for a drive and see how this interior performs on the roads, so first impression is just from a seating position. I feel like this is on the same level as maybe a compact or subcompact SUV, it's certainly taller than a normal one. sedan, but it's not as tall as some of the taller SUVs or crossovers, so it's actually a good match, but in terms of ground clearance, it's pretty good, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, so if they want to go over some rocks or curbs or whatever you want to tackle you have good ground clearance now the sound insulation has improved on this interior for this new model and I could certainly hear it because right now I'm going about 40 miles per hour on local roads.
I don't really hear anything, there is no road noise, I don't hear the cars passing by me, the only thing I hear is the engine when I step on the ground, when I step a little I hear the engine, but overall this is a very quiet ride and that's really nice, oh yeah, that was pretty good, that was pretty good, I would say I felt a little bit, a little bit of loss and power after it went from, I think, second to third, so I felt that I think, because once it shifted I was out of the power band, so I felt a slight loss of power, but overall, this is a torquey engine, it gets up to speed relatively quickly. 0-60 comes pretty quick, so it's definitely a really good engine, it's the same thing. engine that is used in the new rise overall this is a really comfortable ride right now I also like these seats because of the big bolsters on the backrests I feel like they are hugging me uh this this material this star text material yes Feel it , it feels kind of shiny, it feels like you're sliding but because of the gussets on the back I'm not sliding and overall it's very comfortable.
These are quite good comfortable seats in this driving position, now the visibility is also good. windshield, large side windows and even a large rear window, none of that is a problem, so visibility is really good. I find the suspension to be pretty soft too in a good way, in a good way, I haven't taken any tight corners now, but I hit some pretty aggressive bumps and I feel like the interior is just absorbing it, so I feel like the suspension is soft, but in theGood sense, okay, I just went into manually downshifting to second gear, oh yeah, that's mild. slight loss of power that a slight delay I mentioned does not exist in manual mode.
Now I mentioned about the auto engine stop feature and that comes into play when you stop and the engine shuts off to save fuel. Now I will do this engine. Let's say because it's a boxer design engine, it's a little loud at idle and when you're out of the car you turn it on, it's a little loud and when you hit the floor it's a little loud, so that's why I figure out when, when. The engine disengages and starts, you can definitely hear it and I feel like the lag is a little bit longer than some of the other cars so that's something I always turn off because I'm just not a fan of the steering wheel.
In fact, it feels great too, it's just the right thickness. I know it sounds funny, but I've driven many cars that have a very thick steering wheel where it doesn't belong or a very thin one that feels cheap, this isn't even this. It's the right size and this case I don't know if it's a starter case or a leather case but it actually feels good in my hands and I like how direct it is it's actually a direct steering wheel I mean the feel It is very direct. I don't feel like it's too light. I feel like there isn't a lot of play in the steering wheel, which is also good, so overall it's a pretty good steering wheel.
The interesting thing is that the vision safety features are displayed on the head-up display, so normally , as I'm driving right now, I don't see anything here, not like a traditional head-up display where you know it shows you the miles. per hour, rpm not, this is where if it feels like a collision, it has to intervene if you're swerving, it will actually show up on the windshield and that's really unique, it's really unique to the price of the 2021 subaru

outback

. at 26,800 this includes vision and symmetrical all wheel drive, both standard, then you have the premium limited and then the touring, these all have the base 2.5 liter engine, if you are looking for more power then you have to select one of the xt models , For example.
The Onyx Limited xt and finally the Touring xt, which costs less than forty thousand dollars to conclude, the interior has a robust and familiar look that is unmistakable and continues to be one of the best-selling

wagon

s to date. The interior is bigger than you expect and that's it. Also for the trunk, the huge infotainment screen makes the dashboard stand out, as do the different layers and different colored stitching. Symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard and one of the best all-wheel drive systems out there, and this Onyx xt also gets the special soil to take you where you want to go.
Some negatives include that the engine is very noisy when starting and accelerating. The huge touch screen can lag at times and touch. Climate controls aren't for everyone, lastly, the CVT transmission has trouble simulating full-throttle shifts. I give the new 2021 Subaru Outback a score of 93.
