hyundai

in york, pa. For more information on its inventory, feel free to check out the link in the description box below, and as I mentioned, there are a lot of

changes

for the

2021

Santa Fe, and of course, it has America's best warranty to boot. five year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty plus three years of free maintenance which includes things like oil

changes

, power rotation, things like that, so that It's also amazing and also just as a side note, I have a Santa Fe too.
2021 hyundai santa fe review big changes for 2021
I actually have a 2017 hyundai

santa

fe that has about 33,000 miles on it right now, there are absolutely no problems with it so far, so in this video I'm going to test everything about this. one going over acceleration, braking, handling, ride quality, technology, sound system, exhaust clip, all that stuff, so with all that being said, what do you guys say, let's go ahead and jump right into it and, like Always, let's start with the prices, as you can imagine. There are several different trim levels for the 2021 Santa Fe, the first being the SE starting at 26,850 sel for 28,650 capped at 38,600 and the calligraphy for 42,100 and, by the way, those were all the prices for the configuration of front wheel drive if desired.

More Interesting Facts About,

2021 hyundai santa fe review big changes for 2021...

To add all-wheel drive to any of those prices, just add 1700 and then to go along with all of those trim levels, there are actually two different engine configurations for the Santa Fe, the first will belong to the s e and sel y per way In which we have the SEL trim level today, the engine configuration is a 2.5-liter direct-injected inline four-cylinder that makes 191 horsepower at 6,100 rpm 181 pound-feet of torque available at 4,000 rpm power sent to the front wheels or all wheels via an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters that you know we'll test in a moment here. MPG numbers for that come in at 25 city, 28 highway for the front-wheel drive, 22 city and 25 highway, and then for the all-wheel drive model. wheel drive and, best of all, take regular unleaded fuel, it is a bit, as you can imagine, the other engine configuration will belong to the two remaining trim levels, being the limited and the calligraphy, this will be a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four. cylinder 277 horsepower 6,000 rpm 311 pound-feet of torque available 4,000 rpm synthesized power front wheels or all wheels through an eight-speed wet dual-clutch with paddle shifters This is the same transmission found in some of the sportier cars hyundai does like the sonata and, for example, or not, a final line, I should say, for example, but in general, mpg numbers for that engine configuration 22 in the city 28 on the highway for the front wheel drive 21 in city 28 on the highway one more time for the all-wheel drive, so just get the all-wheel drive for those, but anyway, regular unleaded fuel, believe it or not one more time, so before you do the Acceleration test tested with the stick shift I wanted to mention that there are some driving modes, of course, for the Santa Fe.
2021 hyundai santa fe review big changes for 2021
The drive mode dial is located just to the right of the shift buttons and by the way to change gears on this there is no traditional shift dial it's just a push button setup so just press d to drive , p for park, r for reverse and so it's pretty simple there, but anyway, back to driving mode, smart eco comfort and sport is what they will include and it's also new for 2021, snow, sand and mud, that It's pretty cool, ultimately those driving modes will adjust things like shift points. Throttle response traction control settings, as well as four-wheel drive torque distribution, depending on which unit you put it in, obviously not to mention the gauge cluster, and I'll go a little deeper more in the gauge cluster later in the video. but it will also adjust the colors and overall display on the gauges, so that's cool too, but anyway, with all that being said, what do you guys say?
2021 hyundai santa fe review big changes for 2021
Let's go ahead and put it in sport driving mode. Here I'm just going to spin. the dial on the right is going to downshift immediately for me keeping the rpm at a much higher level giving you more power on demand and the gauges look so sticky and sweet anyway let's go ahead and find a line straight ahead and let's try the gear lever. I just want to see how fast they're going to react for us here okay so let's do an acceleration test a paddle shift test here together I'm in first gear here we go now there's a little bit of a delay um it's pretty much as it is expected for SUVs, I will say that a lot of times you will get that delay with the paddle shifters.
That said, with a different transmission set up with that wet dual clutch for the Limited and Calligraphy trim levels, those paddle shifters might probably be a little quicker, but since we have the SEL trim level today, There is a delay in the shift paddles. I just wanted to mention as far as acceleration goes, it's a lot of fun, it's pretty much as expected, it's nothing. It's going to blow your mind or something, but it'll get the job done, but sticking with that acceleration, as always, braking is equally important, so up front you'll find 12.8-inch ventilated front discs at the rear, discs solid 12 inch rears like As far as the braking field goes, it's actually been pretty good for me today.
I know my 2017 Santa Fe has a much softer braking feel, but I feel like they improved that with the 2021 Santa Fe because it's actually quite pleasant. Doesn't matter, but anyway, as for the suspension and handling up front, you'll get a Mcpherson strut front suspension in the rear, independent multi-link rear suspension, gas pressurized shock absorbers, front and rear anti-roll bars, the works. it's pretty standard at this point as far as Ride quality is something I love in my Santa Fe and it's definitely still on point in the 2021 model year, it definitely absorbs the imperfections of the Pennsylvania road pretty well.
It's definitely a very smooth ride in Santa Fe. That's one of the things I love about it. You also feel the steering of the 2017 that I have, it is Lucy Goosey, this 2021 again definitely improved because it has a much heavier weight, especially at slow speeds, it helps you orient yourself better in the direction you want to go, so many SUVs will have Much looser steering feel and doesn't give you as much feedback, but I love the 2021 Santa Fe, it's not the heaviest in the world of course, but it really is perfect for this SUV, I'll say that as far as noise is concerned. the cabin once again.
That's pretty accurate, but if you go for the Limited or Calligraphic model, those two trim levels in particular will be a much better, much more serene cabin, which is partly because there's acoustic laminated glass just for those two trim levels. , so it's I'm going to absorb a lot of that outside wind noise, but having said that I've been doing over 50 miles per hour in this thing and it's still pretty pleasant, there's definitely not a lot of outside noise coming into the cabin becoming a little noisy when you really press the accelerator with this particular engine setup, other than that the wind noise is definitely on par so no problems for me, then I touch on the visibility, I can see perfectly fine from behind, There are definitely no problems, there is more or less what was expected.
Rain-sensing windshield wipers on the way. with the limited trim level and above and there is a head up display only if you go for the calligraphy trim level this is how you will get that it will essentially project your speed limit and some safety features onto your windshield so you can help keep better your eyes on the road, less likely to get into an accident and all that fun stuff, but that completes the performance segment of this

review

, guys, let's go ahead and take a look at the exterior of this facelift. 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe, okay, so here it is guys, the new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe with a completely revised look for the 2021 model year and, in my opinion, definitely a better look, but let's go ahead and start with the grille front because that's one.
One of the things that really changed for the 2021 model year, so it's a big redesigned front grille that had chrome added for the SEL trim, the leveling headlights are now built into the corners of the grille, you guys can see that and at the same time the way the headlights are at the bottom, those little top slits up top are actually a continuation of the LED daytime running lights that come standard across the board, not to mention the LED headlights come standard on all trim levels of the Santa Fe. I love it because that's usually not the case with other SUVs out there right now, so the automatic feature comes with that too, which means when it starts to get dark at night, these headlights They will automatically turn on for you.
High beam assist also comes standard. Also, while I personally love that feature on my sonata, you basically turn on the high beams at night, if it detects a car coming in the opposite direction, it will automatically dim those high beams to low beams and then when that vehicle is gone. it puts it back on the high beams for you guys so they're like automatic headlights on just the high beams so I love that too and overall they look very menacing. You can see those side air curtains towards the corners of the front bumper that also direct there. air around the wheel and the tire combination as well, but now let's go ahead and go to the side of the Santa Fe here, so let's go ahead and start with the silver top roof rails that come standard on this rear privacy glass that also It comes with the standard body. colored door handles for all trim levels, as well as some satin chrome accents, as well as for the Limited and Calligraphy trim levels.
When it comes to these side mirrors, they are body color power adjustable side mirrors for all models across the board, power folding for the Limited model. Level and above also with heating for the limited equipment level. You will get integrated LED turn signals. I want to guess the limited equipment level enough once again and of course the chrome window frames come standard and there are some chrome accents on the lower side skirts on this one like Well actually take a look at the setup of the wheels. 18-inch alloys for the SE and SEL, which of course is what you're looking at right now. 19-inch alloys for the Limited and Calligraphy and 20-inch alloys will also be available for the Calligraphy, so there are two actual wheel options for that last trim level, but anyway let's go ahead and go to the rear of the santa fe and, since we are here once again, we start the upper shark fin antenna. under the rear spoiler with an integrated brake light just below the rear wiper, as well as LED taillights, if you were curious, come with the limited and calligraphy, they will be optional on the model, in fact we have an optional package option that gave us those taillights, so right now you're looking at LED taillights, a little bit better lighting at night, satin chrome rear bumper accents, you can also see that below, and of course lastly, a single exhaust outlet. exhaust with satin chrome tips, so I believe them. guys you know what we need to do next here as always here's the exhaust clip hmm so now that we're in the back of the Santa Fe when it comes to opening the rear liftgate it's a door hands-free power lift if they had to go. with the limited or calligraphy, so that's one way to open it.
There's actually a button on the liftgate of course, just press that and walk away if you want, there's also a button on the key fob and lastly there's a button next to the left knee on the driver's side as well, so There are quite a few different ways to open it once open, the cargo capacity is 36.4 cubic feet, if that wasn't enough space there is a 60 40 split which means the rear seats fold down. and by the way, there's actually a button back there that you can press to fold down the back seats too, which is pretty convenient if you're in the cargo area, soI like it, but once folded, that number is 72.1 cubic feet.
By the way, for comparison, the toyota rav4 has 69.7 cubic feet, the honda crv has 75.8, so the honda crv is the tallest in its class, so the santa fe falls right in the medium, essentially, but 72.1 is definitely a decent amount of space back there, I will say that, but there are a lot of things in the cargo area that I wanted to mention in the floor storage and a decent amount actually comes standard for each trim level, so you'll love that 12-volt power. exit can also be found back there, there is a cargo cover there as well, so of course we have that second electric folding road that I mentioned that will come with the limited and higher trim level will be optional for the sel.
The one we have today should have mentioned that up front and of course it also has some grocery bag hooks back there, but anyway we turn now to the legroom in the rear, which comes in at 41.7 inches per ton for reference, I'm not even six feet tall, this is how much space I have back there again for comparison purposes honda crv in 40.4 toyota rav4 37.8 ford escape in 40.7 so this is where the hyundai santa fe comes in first actually The legroom in the rear is actually quite surprising for this SUV. I will say that I personally had plenty of room, but also heated rear seats will come with the Limited and Calligraphy trim levels.
Rear ventilation will be standard across the board. There is a rear center armrest with cup. The rear side window sunshades with limited and calligraphy also come standard. It will be optional in our SEL here. Spin level today. The bat map pockets on the front seats are nice, just as expected and in fact you will also find two USB charging ports for the rear passengers and I love that they are too because if you have two kids they both want to charge the tablets, that's definitely a good thing and I emphasize it because my sonata has one anyway, it's cool that there are two back there, but pretty much everything you could want for the rear passengers, but then we head to the front seats with shaped seats claw that come with the sc and sel leather seats for the limited model and with calligraphy and by the way, the calligraphy that will give you quilted nappa leather, so you put some high end leather in there, power driver's seat six-way power driver's seat eight-weight for the sel trim, level by the way, two-way power lumbar for the sel you'll also get four-way power lumbar for the limited and calligraphy also with leg cushion extensions for the limited and the calligraphy, as well as eight-weight electrically adjustable passenger seat for the limited and calligraphy ventilated front seats with those two as Well, the memory settings for those two front seats are also heated, although they come with the adjustment SEL leveling, I love that by the way, those heated seat buttons are located directly behind the drive mode dial, so in case anyone is curious where they are, that is.
It was always pleasant and overall the seats were quite comfortable. I haven't had any problems and I don't have any problems in my 2017 Santa Fe, so the seats are pretty good. Now take a look at the startup. Let me start by showing you the key you actually have. have the hyundai logo on one side and when you flip it over, lock and unlock the button to open the rear hatch and the circular button that says hold, that will be your remote start that will come standard on the SEL trim level and along with a button starter so all I'm going to do here is just put my foot on the brake and press the engine start button which is located right next to the driver's right knee so this is where it really gets good .
When it comes to the Santa Fe's gauge cluster, the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that comes standard with the Limited and optional calligraphy on the model, we have that option; Otherwise, you'll get a standard gauge cluster with analog gauges and a smaller digital one. gauge cluster in the middle, but this is a fully digital gauge cluster that again is completely customizable. You can change the driving mode, for example, it will completely adjust the look up there, giving you more red tones for sport mode, more blue and white tones for comfort. mode etc. so that's great of course you can also look up a ton of different information using the steering wheel mounted controls which are located on the right side of the steering wheel which gives you things like average miles per gallon. digital speedometer that you can display there if you want, there is a compass, there is the tire pressure at any time when you need your next oil change, the list goes on so you can really check over and over again the best part is the gauges The digital gauge cluster looks so cool when they're digital, but anyway, let's go ahead and take a look at the overall interior quality of this one.
The first thing I wanted to mention is the panoramic sunroof that we have today. Limited calligraphy equipment levels. Understand this, it will be optional on the SEL, but having said that it is one of the largest panoramic sunroofs I have seen in quite some time, it certainly extends well into the rear seats, all the way to the rear seat headrests, which is wonderful and The best part about the sunroof is that when you go at higher speeds in Santa Fe there is no wind noise coming into the cabin from this sunroof, which many times happens at certain different levels depending on the SUV you are testing, but That It's wonderful, no wind noise from the sunroof and it's huge so it's great anyway.
The fabric headlights come with the se and the scl. You will get an upgraded headliner with the limited suede headliner with loving calligraphy that comes with the LED interior lighting that comes with the limited sunroof. Optional trim level and higher on SEL dual-zone climate control. The same thing happens there too. The wireless phone charger will come in the SEL trim level and above in case anyone was curious because it took me a couple of seconds to figure out where it was. actually a little slot right next to one of the uh right next to the rear cup holder just slide your phone down that's where the wireless phone charger will be located like it's always in a different position depending on the car.
I'm driving so that's where that one will be located and speaking of which you have two cup holders, you have a USB charging port directly in front of the phone charger, you also have a rubber storage space right above the glove box on the side of the passenger and speaking of The passenger side glove box handle is great too it is finished in a nice silver plastic look even though it is plastic it still looks stinky when it comes to the plastics Hyundai always uses I don't do it They save with it just for a regular matte gray finish, like many other automakers they design it so that you see all these buttons located in front of the cup holders.
They could have left it with a boring matte gray finish, but they actually gave it a nice soft finish. design, so I also like one of the best parts about the Santa Fe guys is that under all that stuff you have more rubber storage, so there's a little hidden compartment where you can store maybe a purse or something you'd like disguise. and that will be found downstairs with a 12 volt power outlet and another USB charging port there as well so that's great too and the overall interior quality is pretty good for me so there's absolutely no problem I feel like it's definitely It has been achieved. best since 2017, so I love it, I also wanted to mention the home lighting controls that you can find right under the rearview mirror for up to three different garage doors, but now let's go ahead and go to the technology screen because the goodness continues here from eight inches.
The color touchscreen comes standard with the se and sel trim levels. The 10-and-a-quarter-inch color touchscreen comes with the limited and calligraphy options on the sel that we actually have here today and so on any of the technology screens, to mention bluetooth and Audio streaming comes standard with Android Auto Apple Carplay and for the 10 and a quarter inch screen you will get factory navigation and also something called nature sounds which I always like to show because I think it is Sticky and cold, so if you press the nature sounds button, you can choose between a lively forest, a calm sea, waves, a rainy day, an outdoor cafe, a warm fireplace and a snowy village.
Having mentioned all of those, what do you say? I'll shut up here real quick and let you listen. On top of that, the fun continues here, there's something called silent mode where you essentially shut down the rear speakers completely and limit the front speakers to a volume of I think seven, so it's quieter in the front. So that's essentially four if the kids fell asleep in the back on a long road trip to Ocean St. Maryland or something and you wanted to keep them asleep during the trip. A calm partner will help you do this, although you could just turn around. turn off the radio, but if you still want to hear what you're listening to and you want your space to be quiet, this is how you're going to do it, it's a very cool feature, for that reason, of course, you can check your weather. control information, you can do that on that screen for any configuration, whether it's the eight inch screen or the ten and a quarter inch screen, so that's great, of course, you can also check your radio settings and, by the way, When it comes to the sound systems in this one, six speakers come with SE and SE L finishes;
However, if you opt for the limited and higher trim level, we will get a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system that is optional for the SE we have. option here, so what do you say, let's go ahead and turn on the radio, see what we're playing today and test the clarity of this. Little Allison chains the bass when it kicks in, there's a nice bit of bass with that harman. kardon sound system, the acoustic guitar sounded good and there's a little bit of clarity too, so really that 12 speaker harman kardon sound system was pretty good for the santa fe, it was a really good sound system for this one, I will say that It was a quiet song but a really good sound system, but the last thing I wanted to mention on that tech screen is that when, of course, you put the Santa Fe in reverse, you'll find a standard rearview camera across the board, not to mention If you go with the Limited trim level and above, you will get a surround view monitor that will let you know who or what is behind you, which will always lead us to a safe place, so the first thing I wanted to mention is that The 2020 Santa Fe was an IIHS top safety model.
Pick it, although the 2021 model year is yet to be tested, you would assume it would continue that tradition or improve one or the other, but either way front side curtain airbags come standard with driver knee airbags and also on the back part. they have latches aka lower anchors and child tethers for the rear seats of the car, child rear door locks, tire pressure monitoring system, that's pretty boring honestly, but it's also standard across the board , rear occupant alert, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control. with stop and go, which by the way is an excellent system with Hyundai and Genesis products.
I used it on the way to this dealership to test drive this car. It's a pretty cold lane, it keeps the assist, another great system, also the driver attention warning system, and then if you go for the limited or the calligraphy, on top of all that, you get highway driving assist, which essentially it's Hyundai's Level 2 Self-Driving Assist lane following assist, as well as any blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert which, as you know, is the little triangular one. icons on the side mirrors so you don't become someone in your blind spot, but overall when it comes to my final thoughts here on the new Santa Fe, I like the redesign, especially seeing it in person, it looks very nice.
I also like the new calligraphy trim level because in the past with the Santa Fe you couldn't get things like for example a suede headlight which is pretty cool with that trim level the technology is great on this one and really hyundai alreadyGenesis across the board is actually doing quite well in technology. I mentioned it because you get the 10 and a quarter inch infotainment screen in the 12 inch digital gauge cluster, so that's great, America's best warranty and it's also good for your peace of mind. Three years of free maintenance. If you want to save money, an incredibly large panoramic sunroof, I could go ahead and put sunshades on the rear windows, but they are very, very nice.
There's a reason I bought my 2017 Santa Fe. I still love it and it's gotten even better now with the 2021, so definitely. very solid pick here but let me know what you think of the new Santa Fe in the comments section below that's it for this one thank you so much for watching feel free to follow me on tik tok at the bottom of the screen there if you like be sure to hit the subscribe and bell notification button if you like new car reviews that's what we do here on this channel after all I appreciate you guys seeing more than you think and I will see them.
