state

title this is the first time in the 14 weeks of our schedule that we've put the top 14 kids on the map so I feel that we kind of caught got caught the other

team

s off guard I don't think they really realized how powerful this

team

was when it was on all cylinders so I'm a little overwhelmed right now I feel surreal right now you know we worked the whole season for this you know it's just great to have it all come together and and have her all the

state

title in school history it's back to back this one any
more special than then last year it's a lot more special just because I was the last match and I had to win it for the

team

it just means a lot more to me it feels great this uh this this one feels really great you know because this year was a tough year for us a lot of things didn't go right all season and it was a lot of stress and trying to keep it all together we didn't have the greatest how do I say line up top to bottom we had some yeah good guys and we had some green guys and
then we have to make that work and put it all together so yeah to do it again this was really satisfying next we go to Division two the lone red arrows going for a

state

record six consecutive

state

titles going up against Goodrich the Martians in the

state

title met for the first time in ten years when they won it in Division three Lowell inbred beat Gaylord in the semi and we start in the 140 pound weight class Avery Mutchler fur the red arrows going up against Colin Austin the senior

more Goodrich was facing up against Derek Moore and the senior Penn furred would get the low single for two points he would go on to win his 40th match on the year momentum starting to build for Goodrich and they kept it going into to 15 classes honor Kline going up against Jacob Howe the senior clan with only one loss on the season gets the armdrag to single and he would go on to win over hope next to the heavyweights and it was a good one between Blake Covell and Tyler DeLuca we had to go to
2019 mhsaa team wrestling state finals state champs michigan
overtime and it would be the senior couple getting to go behind for the point and that would clinch his match Goodrich now won four matches in a row Lowell would respond to the 103 Ramsey Mutchler of the red arrows in his match against Ryan Angelo and the freshman Mutchler would get the knee pull single for two points and Lowell takes a seven-point lead at 20 to 13 Nick core horn was up next for Lowell in the 112 against Zion chef and the junior only needed one minute to take care of Jeff and he
gets the far side cradle Lowell now up 26 to 30 but never count out Goodrich the freshman Cameron Macklin dominated in his match against Bryce McHugh here getting the near fall and his major decision win next up in the 125 for the Martians parson Richards was taking on death straight and the freshman gets the slide by for two points as he goes on to get the win Goodrich now trails 26 to 20 the pressure is mounting in the final two matches of the day in the 130 quest Kaleb

team

took on Dawson
Jankowski and the senior Teague would come through with the switch as he goes on to get the win and three points for Goodrich now down 26 to 23 and to the finale in 135 Jeff leach of the red arrows taking on Carson Turnbow Goodrich needs a pin to clinch the

state

title but leach didn't want any of that as he will get the far side cradle to take the match and clinched it for low as they go on to win their sixth consecutive

state

championship and that is a new MHSAA record it's another
something different it's always a new experience to be a first in

Michigan

it's definitely a first in Maine I'm just so excited so proud of our kids so proud of our parents and our community it's just uh it's a little surreal finally to Division one rematch of last year's finale Detroit Catholic central taking on frightened the two-time defending

state

champs

Catholic Central with nothing but three-peat on their collective minds versus the Bulldogs in 2018 shamrocks did
not lose a match 20:19 would be a tougher road to hoe 140 weight class cc's Logan sanim vs. Zach Johnson the junior santim boasting a 33 and 2 record on the year the high crotch then covering for two shamrocks with a win on the board - 145 cc's Derek Gill Chur 28 and 2 on the season and toe-to-toe with Rhett Newton the junior guilty' ranked number one in the

state

at 140 bumping up to face his former

team

mate fourth-rate newton kilcher in control with the physical snap down head in
the hole behind for the takedown Dilton major decision win detroit catholic central beat West lamb John Glenn in the semis currently ranked 11th in the country 152 pounds 3-time individual

state

champ since the senior Kevon Davenport committed to Nebraska matching up with the Bulldogs Viktor grabovsky Davenport with the blast double cut the angle for the takedown Davenport improves to 30 3 and 1 on the season now to 160 Cameron Amin came in unbeaten at 33 you know going up against Dave
donabedian remaining moments of the first period on me with a solid head inside single finishes with the high step behind dumped on donabedian the senior still perfect four up and four down detroit catholic central led fifteens in brighton looking to win its first

state

title in four years fresh off knocking off Davison in the semi final 171 weight class the senior rivers Shetler put in his 46 and 3 record on the line against Manny Rojas Shetler with a sweet over tied post single with a trip
finish for the takedown one on two decision Bulldogs on the board we go to 189 a contested match between East and Turner of CC and Grayson Stephens the senior Turner goes far ankle pops his head out for the two point takedown he would go on to win his match and that's the momentum Catholic central meeting at 2:15 Brendon dia Tula versus Luke's ten remaining moments in the third period yet Tula goes high crotch pops his hip and lifts for the huge takedown he would go on to win his match
by decision next to the heavyweight Stephen Colt m4 the shamrocks going up against Colby Ford and the junior coach up in control the crafty snatch single off the / ties shucks and finishes with a monster Kent trip to secure his takedown chalk up another win for Catholic Center we had a battle of freshmen in the 103 pound weight class Anthony Walker in Quail in Newton this was a close battle but Walker doing a good job on top to neutralize Newton with the victory the shamrocks now winners of
three in a row but Brighton wasn't going down without a fight at 112 sophomore Mason Schrader going up against Caleb White Schrader in command throughout here with the strong head outside single finishes to the mat with a double right back up and going next to 119 Sam Freeman taking on Matt Anderson the junior Freeman here in the second period would get the cowcatcher finishes off the match with the fall brightening striking distance for Brighton being down 29:13 into the 125 weight class
they needed pins to have a chance to beat Catholic Central Bend manly for the Bulldogs taking on Cameron Davenport manly with the slick low angle for the takedown he would win his match but only getting three points so with the title already decided last match of the day in 1/35 Josh Edmund for the shamrocks putting the icing on the cake he was taken on Aiden Brown dominated getting the quick head outside single finishes for the takedown tech fall and the shamrocks still on top of the mountain
Detroit Catholic Central wins its third straight Division one
