Jun 06, 2021
What's going on guys, Riley? Here today we have a video that might generate some interesting comments in the comments section. Today we're taking a look at the

2019

Camaro SS with the new revised facelift, so it's not just the new front end. new bumper rear bumper and taillights there are actually some upgrades to the performance of the car and also to the interior so we'll look at all of that and I really wanted to compare this car today to the new Mustang and really see how they compare. against each other so before I start the

review

I wanted to give a little backstory so I have owned a 6th gen Camaro and I currently also have a 2018 Mustang so I would say I am a very good person to talk to If you are deciding between the two cars, I will try to make this

review

as fair as possible to both parties, so among many changes to the Camaro line for

2019

, they also added a few new colors, one of them called Satin Steel Gray Metallic and looks. really good in person, I really like it, there are a few others too, but starting with the front, I don't know what to think about it.

I don't think it looks bad, but I don't think it looks too good. and I really wish they would change the location of the Chevy badge and put it up there. I think it would look a lot

better

and there are rumors that Chevy might do it later but that's the recently revised facelift and I will say that when this car was first released it got a lot of hate, a lot of critics were after this and they are being pretty harsh with the. I think it's grown on me over time and I think you can look good if Specht the right way, this one isn't that bad and also the Camaros for this 2019 onwards, they actually look pretty good too, you'll notice a lot of minor differences to Throughout the review, like oh look, there's a new hood vent not a big change, but something to note is a new wheel option for 2019.

More Interesting Facts About,

2019 camaro ss review better than the new mustang...

You still have the wing arches and the Goodyear Eagle F1 tires , so all that remains the same and then you move to the back as well once again. Controversial, whether you like it or not, I will say that I think I like the rear more than the front. The taillights at first I wasn't a fan of them, again, I've liked them and then it's also something new for 2019. So everyone is used to having a rearview camera right there, big shout, but you also have a camera here and I'll show you with those little guys in a moment, but just make a mental note that that camera was added in the spoiler and Yeah, you kind of already know, you still know the same old Gin Six, just a couple Minor changes here and there and it still looks pretty good.

Personally I think that among teenagers from twenty-six to twenty-eight they look a little

better

than these. I think that's actually those. Some of the best-looking cars on the road now move on to the good stuff: engine and transmission options, so we still have the same 6.2-liter, 455-horsepower, 455 pound-feet of torque V8. 0 to 60s are still in the top three. The second range quarter mile is around 12 seconds, give or take, and the new Mustangs are pretty much on a level playing field, as the Mustang has 460 horsepower, but a little less torque, so they are very similar and friendly.

Apples to apples as you know but I love this engine and new for 2019 we are now dealing with a 10 speed automatic so this is the same 10 speed automatic from the Camaro zl1 and the same 10 speed automatic of the new Mustangs now I'll show you the window sticker here in a second, but this is a 2 SS and it pretty much has every option except it's missing a sunroof, but it does have the magnetic ride control, the Recaro seats, and the dual mode exhaust. I mean all the little things Scott the 2 SS also gives you all the fancy stuff like all the color changing lighting throughout the car, a head up display and all the random frills you probably want to have but you're on The fence about the payment, but now let's look at this window sticker together, so the first thing that catches my attention is 27 miles per gallon on the highway, which is pretty incredible on an average of 20, and already You know, a V8 muscle car that's really, really cool.
The next incredible thing that catches my attention is the total price of the vehicle, which is 49 thousand dollars. Now like I said, this one has a lot of options and it's a 2 SS so it's about as optional as what you're going to get. the options that I briefly mentioned are sitting there for about six thousand dollars and options on top of all the options that already come with two SS like the head up display, the Bose sound system, the lighting and all that fun stuff, so it's a quick overview of the window sticker something else i just noticed is the smog rating is a1 the back seats haven't changed basically still no room back there i don't plan on putting anyone back there they will hate their life but let's move on and let's shoot this and I'll show you some of the new changes like the infotainment system and that little secret camera I talked about earlier so those of you who are familiar with Camaros can notice that it looks a little different, so Somehow they changed some.
The fonts and indicators at the top look a little different than they used to. They also changed this screen here, just a little different, updated kind of thing, but it's pretty much the same. The center screen is completely new for 2019. Chevy updated all of their systems across their entire fleet of vehicles, so I personally think this looks a lot better, it's nicer, easier to use and it just looks, you know, more modern, It does almost everything you would need to do, do you know a Polly Android auto? You can swipe it and I guess you pair a radio station here and you can have your phone here and then you swipe it and you can control the weather.
OnStar ambient lighting. There are some new things as far as I know, so I selected this color. where it's green and red and I'll actually have to show you a picture, now you can mix colors which I thought was really interesting, so on the doors as you see it's like a multi-coloured thing, kind of cool, just a couple of new things . options there, so like I said, just a bunch of little changes, this all looks pretty much the same. You know, the 10-speed automatic looks the same here as the 8-speed and it still has its mode selector here, but now let's talk about that secret camera.
Where would that be? Hmm I don't know it helps up here on the rear view mirror so now you have a normal mirror it's just you know a mirror but you flip this little switch and now you have an HD camera where you basically get a live feed of whatever happening behind you and it's super crystal clear. I mean, this blew my mind when I first saw it and these ladies and gentlemen is the future. I also mentioned that the head-up display is Here since it's a 2 SS, but I think that's pretty much all the main things - a Bose sound system sounds great here and everything else is pretty much unchanged from the old Camaro , which everyone is very familiar with, so now I guess there's one thing left to do and let's take this for a spin and talk about some of the differences between this and the Mustang and which one you should buy, so let's move on, Let's turn it on and take it for a ride. driving still sounds good, that helped us, so before we really get started on this driving part, I wanted to say a big thank you to Parkway Chevrolet in Tomball, Texas, if you need a new Chevy or a used car, whatever the case may be.
Ask for David Croft, he will look after you, but I really appreciate you letting me drive this car in the afternoon and giving you feedback. Well, first I think we should talk about the most important change and that would be it. adding the 10 speed automatic to this car so I drove the eight speed a couple of times obviously I had a six speed manual car and I've driven a lot of ten speed Mustangs so I think it was necessary no it's not really my The reason is that you will hear it after we leave this stop sign, it just doesn't give you the same satisfaction hearing it and I will shut up and let you listen.
I know you get better gas mileage. I know you. it's faster, I was able to get all that, but the sound to me is strange, but if you sit here and get on the controls, it's okay, they didn't pop and crackle as much in the previous six generations, that was really good. they change, I swear this exhaust sounds different than they used to, well listen to that, that sounds amazing now I'm very, very familiar with the Six Gym platform and I've never heard them do that, I swear something is different with this. escape I don't know what it is, but it's different.
I think it's a little louder and the pops and crackles right next to it are on a whole different level. I wonder if I can make him do it if I sit down. here and go down to third gear, let's do it, I'd get like five miles per gallon if I had one of these because I'd be doing that all the time listening to that, that's awesome, okay, so maybe forgive the transmission. and just leave it in paddle shift mode you're fine it's super fast to send but I will say that and I think I'm going to get a lot of hate for this since I have a Mustang but I feel like this transmission is better in the Camaro than it is in It's actually the ten speed in the Mustang.
I don't know if it's the way this engine is set up the way they like it, lower pork in this car compared to the 500, honestly, I think. The 8 speed automatic transmission in this car was previously fine. I don't think they really needed to shift into ten speeds, but now that it's here I really won't complain. I think it's very nice, it's so flat and it handles the responses very well. What a good driver Manji, mm you guys know how to make a car good for you if we can find a way to make the front bumper look a little better, other than that this car is almost perfect.
I said, keep saying that because I still drive a lot of cool cars, damn, but this is really good, so it's just kind of a hint of some of the new additions to the 2019 Camaro. Now let's talk about more Mustang versus Camaro and some of my personal thoughts on the matter. So before starting this review, I went to Ford's website and did a Mustang customization and I'm hoping for one exactly like this, but in Mustang form of course, so I added magnetic ride control and upgraded sound system from it. It has Bose and almost everything, the ten speeds, the price of that car ended up being $53,000, like I said, this one is $49,000, so the Mustang actually ended up being more, which I thought was strange, but basically what I deduced by doing that is that really the prices of the cars are almost the same, which means it obviously depends on the type of dealer rebates and things like that, but if you just look at the MSRP, they are almost perfect with each other, honestly, I think The quality of both cars is more or less the same, I mean they are both mass produced muscle cars.
I don't think one of them really stands out as being much better than the other and realistically they are both great cars, they both have their purposes. I think this is a better sports car and this is the car I would rather have if I were to the track more often and drive more sportily. I think the Mustang I'd rather have for more daily driving and the back seats are somewhat usable the Mustang, this thing that doesn't put anyone back there please. I think the Mustangs are a little more comfortable, but like I said, to me, this is more of a group race car, the trunk on this thing is pretty darn.
Small, the Mustang's trunk is pretty usable, so like I said, if you had to choose just one to live with as your only car, I'd say the Mustang is probably a slightly better option for most people, but if you're That special someone who likes, you know, a performance car likes a fast one, can live with some of the downsides of this car. I think this is probably a more fun car. I mean, ultimately the choice is up to you which one you prefer if a Ford guy, of course, you'll like the Mustang and vice versa, but actually both cars are absolutely fantastic and much better than they used to be.
They're both sports cars, you know, and they can hang things that are a lot more expensive, but I'm absolutely blown away with how many years this thing is and how incredible it sounds, it's just unreal. I'm going to be honest, guys, I think at the end of the day, the car that makes me Happiest while driving is probably the Camaro, which is weird because I drive a Mustang, but I mean, that's just being honest with you, of course. Realistically, I like to live with the Mustang a little longer just because it's like I said. a little better than a daily, but I mean you can daily one of these things, ideally in a Le version of this car, which is the track focused version, for seven or eight months and I mean, I had no problems with it.
The seats are comfortable, but there are some better options if you're looking for comfort. Plus, it's pretty small here. The rear seats are actually usable. The trunk is quite small. Visibility is worse here, so like I said, they both have. pros and cons, it's what you're looking for, if you're looking for fun, you'll care about the other things, you're probably going with a Camaro, so what have we learned here today, boys and girls, but learning the 2019 Camaro even if it's not like that? It seems like it's a lot of fun. I really wish they hadn't changed the front end, they just left it the same as it was and then just added it.
You know, the ten speeds and all the little details here, I think it would have been perfect, but now we have to live with the front end. , which is fine, but aside from the styling which may raise some questions, everything else about this car is great. notably the wonderful escape. I'm actually very impressed with the 2019 Camaro, as well as the 2016-8 Dean. These things are fantastic cars for the money if you're looking at something and maybe comparing it to something European that is much more expensive. this will give you the same fun for half the price so it's definitely a good option to consider again be sure to check out Parkway Chevrolet if you need a new Chevy and are in the Houston area but for now I think that sums it up everything and I hope you enjoyed this video, so thank you all for watching.
I'll seal the next one, take it easy.
