Now it's time to talk about Try Industries, a local non-profit organization in the Northern Illinois area whose mission is to employ people with severe disabilities and disabled veterans in hopes of helping rehabilitate them and give them a place to come to work. free of discrimination, I've talked to the people who work there, I've worked with those who run this business and one of the big challenges of a nonprofit is revenue, of course, and they've come up with a creative way like a car. enthusiasts to buy vehicles and raffle them off and I'm here to try and help showcase the m2

competition

if you would like to support their mission please donate to potentially win this if not please watch the video and enjoy thank you for your support. that they treat me like an employee because they understand that just because you have a disability I mean you can be disabled and you can't do anything and here is something we can do if we put our mind to it and work hard. and fight for the best, you support transferees it's not just about creating jobs, it's about creating hope, it's about creating new opportunities and new directions, and it's about giving people a place to go where they know that they fit in and know that they are loved.

Alright, the interior racing space, yes this is a two series, yes it was launched to become a sports car and when I look at this cabin I think there are a lot of good things about it, it's simple, most of the physical controls are stupid and intuitive, your HVAC controls the traction control button on your seat heater, even the light switches aren't confusing and then I think, well, I'm spending sixty-three thousand dollars on this car and it feels like something you'd get for twenty thousand dollars. price range I know yes there are carbon accents here because that's what we need but it feels like a very low rental for the price so I hope they make up for some of this in other ways now that I know some People are leaving to get angry because I call this a crappy interior space and the truth is that if you buy a competition m2 you don't care about the luxury options that BMW is putting in its m5 or its m8 or whatever. you want a more basic approach so there's no padding on the door panels and cup holders, there's no fragrance dispenser that sprays Ax body spray on you and poisons you, you know, focus on the things you want from a car experience. thick driving. and meaty steering wheel the paddles feel solid and don't feel like they're going to break when you click them this gap in the sill is wide enough to accommodate a body type wider than water your passengers will feel comfortable here you can Drive this every day with enough luxury amenities that you'll appreciate while still lowering the cabin to feel connected to the car.

More Interesting Facts About,

2019 bmw m2 competition the throwback machine...

I never felt like I was driving a ship. I never felt like I was driving something I didn't have completely and utterly. control and you feel a better connection with this BMW than you have in almost any car in recent history. Well, let's talk about the other nuances, like the N Load buttons on this left side of the steering wheel if you have two drivers, for example. you have M mode one and you go into the infotainment, you set everything up the way you want, everything off and when you hit the street, you hit it twice, you speed out of a parking lot, you turn this thing onto a sidewalk, you can do it If you're a softer driver or want a more relaxed experience getting your curly fries at Arby's drive-thru, set the em mode button; with everything on it allows you that flexibility, but everything else is standard BMW stuff from BM that you I've seen forever Modes I Drive the infotainment the horrible Harman Kardon sound system that sounds like it was ripped from the day Woola Ganza everything you expected in the past is still here enough of that, let's go into the store and talk about turkey On the technical aspects of the m2 competition, we are under the new BMW m2 competition, this is provided to us by the tri industry, which means it's not part of a press fleet, it's never been bothered, driven like by an angry journalist, so it really is a new car and better yet, Chicago auto professionals upgraded it and the paint was corrected , that's right, so it has a paint protection film on the front, which is perfect for when you decide to drive it on the blood, it will come off easier, so the competition m2 has replaced the m2, that's for a variety of reasons to promote mainly emissions, and what do we get with m2 competition?

Why is everyone so excited and upset about this? At the bottom of this you'll see a few things, you'll see the end specific upper and lower suspension pieces with Em stampings. They have changed the lower control arms. They've changed. In this case, you have aluminum shock bodies. which is standard, the bigger brakes and of course you have the cooling ducts and more airflow for the coolers which also adds oil coolers which is huge yeah it's pretty big and you need it if you drive hard. Obviously, BMW expects you to drive this a little harder, so you don't want to have heat problems.

You know, an aluminum, a very strong aluminum protective plate. You can definitely remove the lower units. It actually has a cat point. on it as well and then you have an up kick or an up kick here to cool down the transmission and the arrow panel or NVH panels that they put in here now. I think it's best to go back and talk about some of the changes there, okay? We reached the back of the m2 competition. Well, tell me, what did they do? As I mentioned earlier, they made some changes over the m2 beyond the higher performance engine.
They added bigger brakes, so you know, we have six. bigger piston fronts and rear brakes too, so now you have four piston rears ranging from two pistons and four angry and respectively, they also changed the damping rates to deal with the higher horsepower and recalibrated the MDM mode to allow for more wheel spin, so you can really play with this if you want, well, that's good too because obviously, if you're going to turn off all the stability control in this car, it's very, it's a very waisted car. suicidal, so having that and the M mode gives you more glide and at the same time gives you a safety that is not so good for some drivers, especially on the street, so the other thing they did here and this is typical when you try to make an affordable sports car is that they have two reuses. things they already have like the control arms here, the lower control arms, the em control arms are borrowed from the m3 m4 now the thing is the arcade or the deck here is slightly different so they have to create, they created a new subframe assembly to to fit these new control arms and you know you can take a look at this compared to the two normal series and it's very different you know, and then there are other things like the adjustment of the exhaust, this thing bubbles and farts and one of the big complaints about it.
You know how BMWs are good at designing their mufflers to help air flow smoothly to the rear? This is another design but when you have these black or black chrome exhaust tips and you have this ugly silver muffler hanging down it doesn't do all that not only why not cover it in black or something sounds ridiculous even though it sounds good for this type of engine and this is another change they made on the m2 competition, it was a different tiring fun until it works For me and me, the last thing we talked about the M differential, typical stuff, there never comes a point where you run out of grip, when you hit this, even with your foot on the ground, you will go to one side, but that's how it is. help transfer the power to where it needs to go so it's the highlight of the car and the probe drivers I've talked to speak highly of how robust the SEM differential is at SEMA almost a year ago they hit these cars all day.
Long 24 hours of taking them to the front and they had no faults, yes they will just leak like a sieve. BMW problems, let's take a look under the hood. Jack we are looking at a German vehicle under the hood and this is a real M engine, unlike the previous m2, yes this s 55 that is in this m2 competition solves all the problems I had with a normal m2, that car does not It felt special, yeah, and I'll give it to you and it has a really nice elegance to it. carbon fiber structural support connecting the strut towers to the radiator support, so what else did they do?
For all intents and purposes, this is the m4's detuned competition cooling an engine package. This makes about 50 less horsepower than the M4 competition, but it has all the fancy pants coolers, it has its two supplemental radiators and lower grilles, and it has a larger kidney grille for the radiator itself and a cooler that we all mentioned below, but it's important to know, yes, and because it has the DCT dual-clutch DSG. which is VW, but yes, it has a dual clutch transom because of the high performance they have chosen for cooling, where the manual transmission doesn't have a cooler because it doesn't need one and having this on the track is not like that.
The card is not the fundraising car, but a press car. They beat him all day. Without checking the engine lights. No cooling problems. No overheating problems. No transmission issues so I'm really impressed with how much abuse it can take and just because it's out of tune. This doesn't mean it doesn't have power because when you look at the weight distribution table here, there is less weight than the m4. The weight distribution, the cross weight is fine at 52%, but the front to rear distribution is pretty good, so when you drive it you don't notice the missing horsepower, this is a new engine for a new car, at least relatively new and I haven't heard too many horror stories about this engine and I think based on our experience at Road America, you know.
At least in the next four or five years you shouldn't have too many problems with this. Tatsuya Tata was talking about this car when I did the super tight launch and he highlighted that the latest BMW engine packages are. I've put a lot more effort into making them reliable, so you know this is kind of a proving ground for them, obviously. As a new car, I am very impressed with the performance, the engine, the transmission performance here is top notch, but we can only talk. about it all day or just take it for a spin and show you why we think it's as good as it is.
I think it's time to start with the m2 competition jack, it has an extra premium movement factor from me. I'm going to start by saying this is the best modern BMW M car I've ever driven, which makes you say that Jack, it's the perfect combination of useful fun and a sense of humour, it's got quite the sense of humour. I think a lot of this is because it feels lighter, it feels smaller and it's fast and does what you want it to do when you're on the open road. The dual clutch transmission here is one of the best transmissions.
Of course, I've never driven anything other than a supercar, but it's probably close to that. I like it because it's the perfect combination of fun and everyday usability. Yes, it is the right date. It's the right combination of fun. It's the first BMW M product I've been in, it doesn't feel like it's totally watered down, yeah, this car. I feel like the limits are high but low enough that you can still enjoy yourself in a tight, twisty technical environment like this, yes, and that's true because there is an element of danger. when you drive it there is an element that makes you potentially crash this car is not driving it is not driving you you are not alone for the ride like the m5 Asiata if you could literally have low driving skill and you would be safe In that, because of all the electronics the way the car is set up, you can legitimately throw it sideways and it's still controllable, but it's so much more fun than anything else, you can throw it sideways without having to go 140 miles per hour. so day to day just trying to ride around town you can make yourself smile it really doesn't take itself that seriously it doesn't take itself seriously and usually these kind of cars don't make me smile anymore and you see.
What I drive is like a rock and a lot of that is because I don't feel anything. I don't feel any connection with the Machine and this m2 gives you some of that. It's not quite like it used to be super visceral, but there's enough here. In terms of the little lateral movement, the rear drive effect is extremely balanced, it doesn't drive horribly and the engine is really good and this is one of the best automated manual transmissions. This double clutch makes you feel even moreinvolved in the experience. although it is automatic and speaking of which, there is a manual option and the wall of manual option may not be as fast as this double clutch, what is all that already existed?
It's good that it's there, it would add another layer of driver involvement than this The car is currently missing three three pedals it's usually more fun in a slower car like this one beware when you say slow car I think you've started to get poisoned by all the fast cars you've driven this to me is fast car I feel like it probably has 50 to 65 more horsepower than probably what it should be and it feels so good from zero to 60 as fast as you are at a hundred it's fast and I feel which is why there is this element of danger, there is more horsepower than most people will be able to handle, but it's not as fast as the competition m5, we go to 130 miles per hour in about three seconds, it's agreed, yes it's not at that level clearly but this is what you know, this is not a cheaper sports car like the entry level one, although I can drive it without much skill it still doesn't feel like that basic sports car now you Let's know the best thing you can do is show you what it's like to simply shift some gears listen to the engine watch the transmission performance and we'll talk a little more about the things that make this a great Road Stormer;
However, it doesn't exactly make the Fraud a great track car, no and let me get into that, so here's the deal with this car out of the box. The factory setting of the suspension and tires wants to go sideways every time you are accelerating, the throttle twists everywhere which makes driving so exciting, but when you really want to step on the gas to drive with some finesse, you can't you change constantly chasing the back of this car and it's one of the things I hated when we crossed it, it's one of the things I didn't like on the track and I don't like it here now yeah you get a game sticky 200 tread wear tires or, you know, track day tires and maybe you make some adjustments, maybe just a front sway bar would fix this, but as is as a stock car , this wants to go sideways a lot more than I would like, which when I got into the Supra and the Z for those cars had finesse, you could get them to turn when braking, you didn't always have to hit the gas to turn it.
It spun when braking you had more throttle control in those cars that this one doesn't have. I don't think it has the chassis that that new generation vehicle has, but that might be something you like. I think with this car if it made it a better track car, it would be a worse street car, you run into the same problem I have with my Vette is that the limits are so high that I can never enjoy it on the street without oh God, I'm going to die horribly in an accident and I think that's where they did an extremely good job with this car: they knew who would drive it and how much fun people have with a vehicle like this and a lot of that is just making the rear end turn. in a safe or ridiculous way with that side so you know that's something you need to know when we're talking about the technical details of how to drive it so you already know, but I think the best thing you can do is go to the shop with the end. thoughts final thoughts on the BMW m2 competition now as this is a fundraiser car for testing industries and they have provided it to us, if you appreciate this car, if you appreciate their cause in these videos definitely donate to win this and if it does. or not, here's the verdict, no matter who gets in this car.
I think BMW and EM cars have started to get a reputation for their smooth float and you switch off and you get behind the wheel of this and it's crazy, you can feel very connected. It has a tail, you can have fun driving it, it's fast, it handles well, the dual clutch is incredibly good, almost supercar levels good and you have a manual transmission option. The other big Pro is, let's face it, it's still in that affordable price range, yeah. $60,000 is a lot, as with any car, it's a lot of money, but this gives you so much satisfaction from driving it that you have to go back at least 15 years in the BMW world to get this level of driver involvement.
Here are the disadvantages that this car tends to oversteer. too many are constantly chasing the butt great on the street not so good on the track or autocross you will have to make some adjustments if you drive it competitively the other comparison I can make with this the car is after driving the new super in the z4 , it doesn't react as well to certain driving techniques to get through corners, it doesn't brake as well as the Supra, the new platform doesn't react as well to cornering and cornering. It just feels a little less disconnected than those cars, so I'd say if you're looking for m2 competition, get behind the wheel of the z4 in the super before signing on the dotted line here, but other than that, this is a great car.
I really enjoyed driving it thanks for watching until next time Savage geese another notification do you know how rich I am?
