Hello everyone and welcome to my channel. Today I'm sharing 10 new

farmhouse

style DIYs that are super

easy

and all of them affordable. If you enjoyed today's video, give it a thumbs up now, let's get right into today's

projects

for today's first DIY. I'm going to use four of these 4x6 canvases from Dollar Tree and I'm going to remove all the canvases from their frames to do this. I'm using my knife and running the knife along the outside edges. of my frame and I'm doing it on the outside of where the staples are, once I've cut it out, then I'm just peeling off the canvas and then any part of the canvas that's still under the staples, I'm just ripping it off. from the back of the frame now that I have removed all the canvas, I am painting the four wooden frames with my Waverly chalk paint in the gesso color.

I only had to apply one coat of paint for all the frames and I also made sure to paint the inside of the frames because you will be able to see them once the plaster color was completely dry. I then used my folk art chalk paint in color castle on a dollar tree stencil brush and did it very lightly. I painted this color over the frames to give them a rustic

farmhouse

look and again continue the same step for the four frames. Now it's time to put all my frames together. To do this, I am using hot glue.

I put hot glue. one side of one of my frames to attach it to another of the frames to make a section and then I did the same for the bottom two frames. I simply hot glued them on the sides to make a second section and then hot glued them together. I glued the two sections together to make one piece for this project. I thought it would be really cute to add some chicken wire to the back of my frame, so here I am grabbing this chicken wire that I bought from Joanne Fabrics a long time ago.

I'm not sure if they still sell it, but I'm cutting it down to the right size to go on the back of my frame and I'm just using some cutters that I have from Dollar Tree to do that and then I'm taking the strip of chicken wire that I just made. cut and I'm stretching it a little so it fits a little better on the back of my frame and then I'm using my staple gun to staple it along the back of the frame. I did the same steps for the remaining three frames. I thought working in sections with chicken wire would make it a little easier to work with if you can't find the roll of wire in joann fabrics like this, I know. which hardware stores like Lowe's and Home Depot sell it once I had all my cables connected.

Next I'm adding this windmill I bought at Hobby Lobby. I bought it after Christmas, it was on clearance and I'm just. Cutting out the hanger that came with the ornament and then to attach it to the center of my frame, I'm using hot glue around the inside circle and just pressing it down into the center of the frames and this is the framed windmill piece all finished . I think it turned out super cute and was really affordable to create. If you wanted, you could put a hanger on the back and hang it on the wall or just place it on a table like I did here now, moving on to the DIY number. two for this project I'm using one of these unfinished wood mini candle holders this piece came from Hobby lobby and it came in a package of I think four of them.
I'm starting off painting this piece with my Waverly chalk paint on the colored gesso and only gave it one coat of paint for this project. I'm also using this mini galvanized watering can. I picked it up recently at Hobby lobby and it was on clearance for 74 cents. I had a stem on the bottom that I just moved a little bit to get it out once it was off, then I used hot glue on the top of my candle holder and then I glued it right in the center of the bottom of my watering can and then I added a little bit of dollar tree spanish moss inside the watering can and I'm also using some of these michaels mini succulents and I'm using three of them for this project.
I put hot glue on the bottom of each succulent and then placed them inside the Spanish. moss once I had all the succulents inside the can I ended up adding a little more spanish moss around all the succulents and to do it again I used hot glue on the spanish moss and then glued it around each succulent for the last step. In this project I ended up adding some distressing to the bottom of the candle holder and used the folk art chalk paint in the colorful castle to make this my pedestal shower planner all finished. I think this piece turned out like that. cute and i haven't really seen anything like this in stores and it's the perfect spring and summer decor piece for any tiered tray today is a 10

tuesday

and i'm teaming up with my good friend heidi sambel from heidi sample diy i'm sure that all of you have heard of it.
It has an amazing DIY channel and I think there are three or four other channels as well. If you like watching my channel, I know you'll love yours. She creates many.

high

end decor pieces and she is so creative and truly inspiring. Once you're done watching my video, you can head over to her channel and her video; she's also making 10 DIYs today and I'll have her channel and her video linked in my description box now for DIY number three for this one I'm using this roller hanger that I bought from Dollar General. It's really cute on its own, but I wanted it to match my decor a little better, so First, I started by cutting out the jute hanger that was on this piece, I'm not going to use it as a hanger, and then I painted the front of the roller with my Waverly chalk paint in the color gesso.
I had to do three coats. of this paint to cover all the words and that design and I left the roller handles that color dyed, then I'm going to take this black and white buffalo plaid ribbon from Dollar Tree and I'm going to tie it around the left handle of my roller and I'm creating a really simple bow and then I'm cutting the ends of that ribbon at an angle for this project. I am also using this unfinished blessed word and this came in an unfinished wooden package. words and picked them up from the hobby lobby.
I'm painting mine with rich black folk art paint and I just did a quick coat and then put some hot glue on the back of my word and then put them on. Right in the center of my rolling pin, below, I'm using some hot glue to attach four of these towering Dollar Tree play blocks. I want my sign to stand up so this is just creating a support to place on the back of my sign one time. I have all four glued together. I then put some hot glue on the back of those blocks and then glue them to the back of my rolling pin to create my stand and this is my rolling pin sign, all finished, it was really cute.
I transformed it before, but now it goes perfectly with the home decor that I currently have in my kitchen and now for DIY number four for this project, I'm using a 24 by five and a half inch piece of wood. I had already painted black for a project and then ended up not doing that project, so here I'm just repainting it with my folk art castle color chalk paint and just applied a quick coat of this paint once the painting was complete. dry, then I took my waverly paint in the gesso color and very lightly dry applied this color over the top of the castle color to give it a worn look, then I'm using three of these wall hangers that are from Dollar Tree and I'm using three of these words plant grow bloom i made on my cricut machine, but if you don't have a cricut you can always use dollar tree letter stickers to create the words.
I am now transferring the three blooming words from my plant grid to My Planners, if you don't have the vinyl or cricut machine to be able to cut out your words you can always use the Dollar Tree stickers. Those are always another great option. Next I'm going to place my planners on my piece of wood and just space them exactly where I want them to be before I start putting them together to put them together I'm using hot glue I'm just picking them up by putting the hot glue on the back of them and then pressing them back onto the wood that have a hole in them if you wanted to use it as a nail or a screw, but I just used hot glue, they aren't very heavy and I'm not going to be using real plants on these so I didn't worry too much about just using the hot glue. glue the plants I'm going to use and they are these three succulents from Dollar Tree.
At first I started placing the Spanish moss in the planners first, but then I realized it was better to put the succulents inside the planner and then place the Spanish moss. around the succulent afterwards, so that's what I continued to do on all three of my pots to add a little more detail to the bottom and top of this piece. I am using four strands of nautical rope. I'm using two. of them at the top and two at the bottom to join them together. I'm using hot glue right on the wood and then placing the rope on top.
I was originally going to wrap the rope around the piece of wood, but then I decided I was going to cut them dull on both sides of my board. I then did the same with the two remaining pieces of rope on the top of my board and here is my finished piece. I really love how it turned out. It was very

easy

to make, it barely took me any time to create and this would be a perfect ball piece if you attached a hanger to the back, but for the sake of the video I just placed it on the table.
Now I move on to DIY number five for this project. I'm using one of these unfinished wood recipe holders from Joann Fabrics. This was 3.99, but every time I buy something at Joann's, I always use a coupon or buy it when it's on sale. I took out the jute. hanger that was around the top and then I started staining this entire piece with my Craft Smart wood stain in brown and used an old towel to apply the stain. I haven't been able to find Craft Smart dye at Michael's for some time. Now I don't think they make it anymore, which is a shame because it's my favorite, so if you know of a really good water-based dye, I'd love to know what it is so you can leave me a comment in the comments below, let me know. know which ones are your favorites once this entire piece was stained and dry, then I used a little bit of sandpaper to roughen all the edges of the piece and then a little bit on the front as well.
Using this farm fresh stencil that comes in a stencil pack from Michaels, I believe it is the popular art brand and I will try to link it in the description box below. I am placing the stencil at the top center of my recipe. support and then I'm using painter's tape around all four sides of this stencil so I don't stain the wood with paint that I've already stained for the paint. I'm using my Waverly chalk paint in the color gesso. and to apply it, I'll use my dollar tree stencil brush once the paint has dried and then remove all of the painter's tape and stencil.
I'll also be using this chick that came in this piece I picked up. Walmart, I think it was in the fall. I basically bought this piece because I wanted to have the little farm animals so I had a hole and I needed to fill the hole so I used some wood filler to fill it. and then once it was all dry I used my sandpaper to sand it down and then I painted it with my Waverly paint in the gesso color with a quick coat and then once it was dry I took a piece of cotton cord, this is hobby. lobby and threaded it through the hole that was already pre-drilled in this piece and then I just tied a knot and cut the ends off and then for the last step I used some hot glue on the back of my chicken. and pasted under the words farm fresh here is the mini recipe container all finished it was a super simple project and is perfect for any farmhouse kitchen and because of the size this one is also perfect for a tiered tray and now for the DIY number six.
I'm using this framed thank you sign that I picked up from the dollar tree and I first started by removing the piece of cardboard with the word thank you from the frame and then I started painting my frame with my Waverly chalk paint in the gesso color. and I applied a coat of this paint, then I set it aside to dry and I'm using four of these little unfinished wooden mini planters, these came from Hobby lobby and they came in a package all together and I painted them. Using that same Waverly paint in the gesso color for the cardboard backing that was originally on the frame, I glued some of this striped cardstock onto the cardboard and then didn't like it very much, so I'm using some of this fabric instead striped which also from hobby lobby and I simply placed my cardboard on top of my fabric and then cut it to get the size I need.
I left plenty of extra fabric around all four sides so I could fold the fabric. along the back of the cardboard, then to attach the fabric to the cardboard, I place hot glue directly on the cardboard and then fold thatfabric over the glue and I continue that step on all four sides now that I have all of my fabric attached to my cardboard piece, then I can put it back on my frame and secure it, then it's time to attach my four painted pots, but first I just I space them on the front of my fabric exactly where I want them. so I know where to stick them and then I use hot glue on the back of each of my pots and then I put them back in place and then I add some Spanish moss to all of them.
On four of my pots, I'm putting hot glue right inside the pot and then I press the moss on them and I trimmed the moss a little bit with some scissors, so it wouldn't look so messy, so I'm using some of these cute little white flowers from HobbyLobby. I cut them from their stems and am using one flower per pot and attached them inside the pots. I'm using a little hot glue on the stem and then just pressing them down into the Spanish moss for the next step, you'll see I had to remove the cardboard backing from its frame.
Next, I'll take a slice. of chew and I wrap it around the top of my pot just below the rim that is on the pot and I take the jute and wrap it around the back of the pot and hot glue it once the glue has hardened , then I take the jute pieces and twist them together and then once I have them all twisted, I take the jute and wrap it around the top of the cardboard piece and hot glue it to secure it. If I had done this step before gluing my pots together it would have made it much easier, but I didn't know I was going to do this at the beginning of the project.
I was just going with the flow when I started to make it easier to do this step before gluing the pots to the fabric, so if you're going to do this, remember to do it first. I continued to do this with my four pots once I had them. all held together with the jute, then I placed my backing back into the frame and here are my framed pots, all finished, this project turned out very different than what I had originally planned, but I really love how everything turned out and this one is perfect for any decor tabletop for spring or summer for DIY number seven, this project is super easy.
I'm using one of these glass jars that I picked up from the Dollar Tree and first I start by removing the lid from the jar and then I'm painting that lid with my folk art chalk paint in the color deep black. I only applied one coat of this paint to the entire jar lid for this project. I'm also using some of this black dollar tree sand and pouring. about an inch of sand in the bottom of the jar, then I'm using some dollar tree rocks. I'm using these natural rocks and I'm placing them at the bottom of the jar and I'm also going to be using some of the white rocks that you can pick up from the dollar tree.
I thought it would be really pretty to add a little bit of this white color along with those natural stones, so once I have them all placed on the bottom, Using one of these really cute succulents also from Dollar Tree, I hot glue the stem bottom of the succulent and then I press it into the sand between the rocks and then I assemble the lid of my painted jar and then Screw it back onto my jar and then take a piece of jute and wrap it around the top of my jar twice before tying a knot and then cutting off the extra long ends and here is my planted succulent jar, this project is by far the easiest in today's video and I love the simplicity of it and it looks so pretty here on my tiered tray , now moving on to DIY number eight.
For this one, I'm using four of these unfinished wood pallets from Dollar Tree. And I started by painting all four with my Waverly chalk paint in the gesso color and I made sure to paint between all the wood slats on all the pallets because you'll be able to see them and I made one. a coat of paint on them, once the paint was completely dry I started attaching them and I'm going to have them all facing up so the long sides are facing up and I'm using hot glue right on the sides and then pressing them down. all together to form a small box, next I need to create a background for my box, so I am using eight dollar tree popsicle sticks, six of the popsicle sticks will be at the bottom of my box and then two of them will be I'm keeping all the others together so I'm just taking the two that I'm going to join them with and I'm cutting them a little bit so they fit and then I'm using hot glue. on the popsicle sticks and then just pressing them down on the bottom six to keep them all together and then placing my box on top of the popsicle sticks just to get an idea of where I need to cut them off a little bit because they are a little too long, so to cut them I'm just using my scissors and you want to use a really sharp pair or if you have some cutters that cut through wood they'll probably work better than scissors so I continued with that for each side until it's completely the size I needed for my rear.
Now it's time to attach that bottom that I just created to my box, so I'm putting hot glue around the sides of the box and then I just press that bottom square that I created on the bottom and then to match the rest of my piece, I'm just painting it with the same Waverly paint in the gesso color to match everything and add some details around my box. I'm using some of this. Dollar Tree Dark Burlap Ribbon. I'm wrapping it around the center of my box, just cutting it to the right size and then hot gluing it around my box and then on top of that burlap ribbon, I'm putting some of this black one. and a white buffalo plaid ribbon that I bought at the hobby lobby.
It's the perfect size to go around that burlap ribbon, so I didn't have to cut the sides at all. I simply cut it to size and then hot glued it on. top of the burlap to add an extra detail to the front of my box. I'm cutting four pieces of this jute and creating a really simple bow once I have it created, then I hot glue it to the front. of my box on top of the buffalo plaid tape, you won't see that clip because my camera stopped recording and then in the last step I'm adding some of these eucalyptus stems that I bought at Walmart, here's my flower box . all finished, this one definitely screams farmhouse to me, it was super easy to create and what I really love about this one is that you can change the flowers for any season.
Now you're moving on to DIY number nine for this one. I'm using two of these cute placemats that I recently bought at Dollar General. They have that cute farmhouse striped print that is very popular right now. I started by cutting the labels off the back of both placemats so I won't be able to see them and then I placed one of the placemats print side down and then I started putting hot glue along one of the sides and then I glued the second tablecloth with the print side facing up, so I'm basically hot gluing. All sides together to create my cushion, you can sew them together if you want.
I'm a terrible seamstress so I won't sew them together or you can even use them as heat tape which is also great for fabrics so I made three of the sides together with the hot glue and left one of the sides open so I could stuff it and fill the inside my pillow. I'm using this original polyester stuffing. I usually always have it on hand since I am a craftsman. I'm just placing it inside the pillow until I think it's filled just the right amount and then I'm heat gluing the last side and this is what the pillow looks like, all finished, the placemats were two dollars each and I had the polyfill at home so it only cost me four dollars to create this really pretty farmhouse pillow and now for the last DIY today, for this one I'm using three pieces of wood and these measure 25 by three and a half and I started by painting them with paint waverly in the color gesso, I did one coat of paint for the three pieces of wood, once the paint was completely dry, then I used my folk art chalk paint in the color java on a brush and just very lightly painted it over all the wood pieces I have painted, this is giving them that rustic weathered farmhouse look that you know I love very much and am always very distressing if you have seen any. from my videos and then you'll know that next I'm going to put all my wood pieces together, put hot glue on the sides of the wood and then press them together.
You can always use an e6000 glue if you want something a little. a little stronger than hot glue, so to make sure all my wood stays together, I'm adding a little more hold by adding these painter's sticks to the back and just hot gluing them diagonally below. I'm using this farm fresh flower market template from Hobby lobby. I've used this in the past, it obviously has paint all over it, but I've reused it like three times now and it's still going strong. I'm just placing it. the top center of my piece of wood and then I'm using some painter's tape to make sure it's secure before I start painting.
The paint color I am using for the stencil is folk art chalk paint in the color deep black and I am using my dollar tree stencil brush to apply the paint and then once my paint has dried by complete, I will remove all the painter's tape and my stencil. I'm also using this piece that I bought at hobby lobby, this is the wood pile brand and it was 449 and I'm just staining this piece with that clever craft wood stain that I love so much and can't find anymore so remember Please let me know in the comments below if you know of a better water-based stain that would be something similar to this one.
I'm just using an old towel to apply this and I'm just doing the back of this and then around all the top edges because I'm going to add some other things. to the front of this and a little bit and I didn't need to stain that part now I'm adding some of these wood pieces to the front of my piece. I picked them up at the hobby lobby and they were part of the Christmas and holiday stuff they put out last year and I got them on clearance after Christmas. I'm just measuring how long they should be to be on the front of my piece and then I ended up cutting them in half. so I could stick them on the front a little better and I just hot glued them on, put the hot glue right on the back and glued it on the front, then I thought it would be really cute to add some Spanish moss on the front. of this piece, so I'm using a little bit of hot glue to attach the moss between all the logs and then using a little bit of hot glue on the back of this piece to attach it to my piece of wood below the words that I just made write on it.
It has a place where you could use a nail if you wanted to do that too, then I added some of these really pretty yellow flowers from the hobby lobby, cut them up a bit and then placed the stems inside my pot and also used some of these other pieces really green ones that are also from Hobby lobby. I cut the stems off of those and then just added them in between my yellow flowers and then I'll add one more little detail to this piece. I left a little space. between the logs and the top of my piece of wood so I can add this rope, this white coat is from Dollar Tree, I cut it to fit the top of my piece and then hot glued it on and then I also have a bit There was also a bit of space at the bottom of the logs and I did the same, I just cut the white rope to the right size and then hot glued it under the logs and this is my piece of wood, all finished.
I love how it turned out. You could use a wall hanger on the back if you wanted to hang it on the wall or just place it on a table like I do here. I really hope you enjoyed today's video, if so please give it a thumbs up if you like. You are not subscribed. I hope you consider subscribing and don't forget to check out Heidi's video too.
