serious

issues, but they always present them in a context that makes them feel safe and manageable. Hopefully this episode encouraged people to start looking at situations a bit more. carefully and recognizing signs of child abuse mr. Rogers talks about the divorce. Has he ever met adults who got married and then divorced? Well, it's something people can talk about and it's important. they got divorced and those kids cried and cried, do you know why?
One of the reasons was that they thought it was all his fault, but of course it wasn't his fault. A very serious problem that can affect a child's mental health is divorce with several related factors such as a child's understanding of the concept and the parent's handling of the situation An episode was aired on February 16, 1981 without Mister Rogers neighborhood title that discussed divorce and helped kids understand it a little better. The episode begins with mr. McFeely stopped by a piece of music he found leading him and Mr. Rogers to play a song on the piano, the song recalls the feeling of their wedding day, the conversation then turns to how some people aren't always happy together , leading to a divorce, the episode then cuts to Prince Tuesday learning that another girl's parents are divorced, then worries that a small argument could lead the parents to the same past.
Strangely, the conversation then turns to machines because machines don't have feelings, but people do and that you will always be a person with feelings. Prince Tuesday said he would like to be a machine and not have any feelings but when you are born you are a person you are not a machine machines just do the same things over and over and over again but when you are a person you can grow and change and I feel like , even though the episode focuses on the divorce, he doesn't spend too much time on it, only about half of the episode; however, whenever he does, he handles the subject in an extremely graceful and respectful manner.
Rogers fashion teaches children that a parent's feelings can change, but their feelings matter too Amidst all this turmoil, Penny feels a proud family's gender equality, an issue that has plagued society since her birth has been sexism and gender equality. even now even though we have made great strides and breakthroughs it is still a prevalent issue back in 2001 an episode of disney's proud family was released which tackled this issue head on titled she has a game the episode focused on penny trying to impress a boy who eventually leads her to try to join the school football team, however she is met with immediate sexism as the coach refuses to let a girl join his team and suggests she be a cheerleader or bake a cake .
Excuse me, young lady, I think she was wrong. You cheerleaders are on the other side, no I'm here to try out for the football team, sure doll, you tried now, get off the field before you get hurt. Yeah I can't play on the boys team however there are a lot of rules saying you can't call me a doll the other teammates are no better and Penny was teased for trying to make the team after her friend Zoe dictated a court order. Mother Penny is allowed on the team, but the coach still refuses to let her into the game.
Hey, Mr. Head Coach, put my grandson in the game. he intervened in the game, but is injured after scoring a touchdown. Anyone laments that he couldn't win the game, but her mother assures him that she won a lot more, albeit a small step. The issues addressed in this episode are an important step despite being a step. The simple sport anyone can play soccer has become male dominated and often not welcoming to women looking to play the sport of course one could replace soccer with just about anything in this episode and the message would still be the s. love gender inequality is rampant throughout society even today, but this episode shows that you can make a difference no matter how small Sesame Street features a new Muppet with autism Sesame Street has been educating the children of a fun and engaging way for almost 50 years and they are still breaking new ground as of this year released april 10, 2017 this episode focuses on Big Bird meeting a new Muppet named Julia hi Julia I'm Big Bird nice to meet you Oh Julia Elmo and Abby introduce him to it but she doesn't respond when he greets her, in fact Julia doesn't seem to respond at all when Big Bird says something to her which makes him worry she doesn't like it.
Allen assures Big Bird that this is not the case. Julia has autism and Axl responds differently to the others after understanding her a bit better, they all start playing until a siren sounds, this upsets Julia, Big Bird doesn't notice, he continues to play and tags her, which it makes her even more upset. t Allen takes her to have a break to calm down a big bird feels bad for bothering her Elmo and Abby reassure him that it wasn't his fault and that she'll be fine Eggbert tells the others that he's never met someone like Julia before but that he has a lot of friends of all kinds and he would like to be friends with her too and when she comes back they will all still be playing together after Sesame Street moved to HBO.
New episodes typically air on PBS about nine months after they air However, despite HBO being the current deal, this episode aired on HBO and PBS at around the same time, likely due to the importance of teaching this information. kids now instead of keeping Steven Universe from touching on abusive relationships. cartoons of all time Steven universe has touched on sensitive and important topics since its inception, from the deconstruction of gender roles to the open display of LGBT relationships and characters, the show has gained a huge following not only for its wonderful narrative and its characters, but also because of the way the themes are intertwined with the narrative rather than having a very special episode dedicated to them.
One of these topics that was discussed was about the abusive relationships that had been building up season and a half into the episode Alone at Sea Steven and her father Greg take the lapis lazuli JEM with them on a boating trip in an attempt to make her feel included. and accepted on earth before this lapis lazuli sacrificed herself by fusing with the villain gem Jasper and keeping her prisoner at the bottom of the ocean lapis lazuli finds it hard to relax and admits that she can't stop thinking about everything that happened with Jasper Steven assures her to lapis lazuli that she doesn't have to deal with jasper anymore but to her surprise she actually says that she misses her i'm really trying to enjoy it here but i can't stop thinking about being malachite fuses how i used all my strength to hug her down in the ocean like always she was fighting Jasper to keep her balance that's not like that anymore you don't have to be with Jasper that's not like that I missed her which Jasper then attacks the boat and tells her begs lapis lazuli to fuse again she felt stronger and more powerful when it was the two of them Jasper begs saying lapis changed her and it would be different this time it will be better this time I've changed you've changed me I'm the only one who can handle your kind of power together we will be unstoppable however lapis rejects her saying she never wants to feelwhat he felt when they were together again after defeating jasper the three of them go home with lapis having some closure about the past in steven universe gems fused with creates a powerful entity made up of two of them or sometimes even more gems, has a purpose in battle.
Fusion is often depicted as symbolic of deep friendship, love, and even sexual intimacy. e against her will thus creating the comment about abusive relationships while Lapis is able to walk away from this situation for the most part. Jasper is deeply affected by her and begins to inflict the same type of unwanted fusion on other gems. Sharon is pressured by underage drinking and Braceface and is often forgotten about. The cartoon from the early 2000s was Braceface, a Canadian show. Focusing on a girl with braces struggling to overcome her adolescence was produced by American actress Alicia Silverstone, who also voiced the title character for the first two seasons, the season 1 episode Miami Vices gives us a situation that doesn't have much to do with it. to do with braces but still a frequent problem many teens experienced alcohol use and peer pressure in this episode our titular Braceface Sharon is invited by her father to visit him in Miami we quickly see that her father has many fewer rules and her mother and is much more forgiving and easygoing, she goes to watch her father's band practice and learns that they all drink rather casually.
A friend of the band invites Sharon to a party. rty, which she and Rhea later attend, those nights they are offered a rum and coke which Maria declines, but Sharon decides on the drink and throughout the night, Sharon has about five drinks and really shows that she acts like a moron. Some weird things happen with abrasives. where they connect to the speakers and her father listens to the entire conversation upon learning that he got drunk at the hotel Sharon vomits and her father gives her a good talk saying how dangerous and stupid it is for someone her age to drink it but during a situation where which she could be taken advantage of or hurt.
Braceface aired on the Disney Channel in America, so it's very interesting to see a show discussed and show an underage character drinking alcohol on a Disney show; however, they do a good job of showing the negative aspects of the drink. like bad behavior, hangovers, and vomiting, while the drinking PSA comes out of nowhere towards the end of the episode, it's still a good way to introduce the kids to list and show the dangers that come with it. TJ meets a pedophile in a smart guy in the '80s and '90s. Family sitcoms were everywhere. Some might say that there was an oversaturation of the genre, but despite that, people managed to fall for it. in love with these shows one of these shows was Smart Guy which aired in the late 90's on The WB the show followed the exploits of a kid genius named TJ Henderson in the late 90's the internet had just started to win popularity and people don't fully understand what came with it like we do now, the episode Strangers on the Net focuses on TJ meeting a friend in an online chat room who turns out to actually be a pedophile.
TJ starts hacking games online with a friend he met in the chat room and soon the friend tells him that he has a great new game, but he can only give it to TJ in person. He goes to the boy's house only to find out that he is a middle-aged man at first. TJ is surprised, but the ISM manager isn't great and invites him in for milk and cookies. It turns out that the man is a game developer and he wants TJ to be in his new game, which he finds incredible. The game is a surfing game and to get the animations the man needs.
TJ will pose in front of a green screen, however, since this is a surfing game, the man asked TJ to take off his shirt, the only strange thing is to see that you are surfing in your sweaters and jeans, it ruins the reality of this you really should be in a bathing suit maybe winter we are in hawaii but not bc which means damn cold but you are wearing underwear right? I mean, boxers are like jams that might work. Do you think this naturally misses him? the man says he's totally fine and he has a photo album of kids doing the same oh this is Melissa she's your age and the first time she came here she was nervous too but she felt comfortable and started to jump in and before you knew it she was surfing without her shirt on.
I thought you said we were the first to try this game. Oh, you are for this version. I've had to redo it several times. You know, to eliminate the errors. I have not let anyone try this version. a wave you don't have to take off your pants just take off your shirt TJ finally understands what's going on here he runs home to tell his parents and the man gets arrested well he means well this is an extremely simplified version of this situation and could give falsely the idea that child predators are extremely obvious and easy to avoid, of course, this is not the case and children who would watch a show like this should not assume that Mr.
Rogers talks about violence and shootings, there is people in the world who are so sick or so angry that they sometimes hurt other people and are usually the ones that end up on the news another weird episode of mr. There is the Rogers neighborhood that most people have probably never seen in this case talking about violence and shootings the episode was created in response to another John Lennon murder - 1981 and also spoke more directly to adults the episode even started with a short message stating that this show is not for young children to watch alone, in fact this episode has not been seen in 35 years until the Fred Rogers Company released it in 2015 on the anniversary of John Lennon's death in the episode where he urges the kids to express their feelings towards her and their anger and not to bottle it up, he tells them that even he gets angry sometimes especially when i hear people hurt other people, this episode also includes one of the Mr.
Rogers' most famous quotes about looking for helpers when I was a kid and I heard something scary, someone getting badly hurt or something. He would ask my parents or my grandparents about it and they would usually tell me how they felt about it. my mother was trying to find out who was helping the person who was hurt she was always looking for the people who were helping she told us that you would always find someone who was trying to help so even today when i read the newspaper and watch the news on tv i look for people trying to help one of the most important parts of growing up is learning to talk and play about our feelings some people wonder if mr.
Rogers always gets angry of course I do especially when I hear people hurt other people in the world we live in today we don't have Mr. Rogers to guide our youth to remind adults of his teachings he/as long as his words are gone his talks on serious topics are never forgotten and the never talk method has created a lasting impact on thousands of people the world is a better place because of fred rogers and we really were lucky to have him as our neighbor , you know it happens so often that I walk down the street and someone in their 20s or 30s or 40s comes up to me and says it's Mr.
Rogers not you and then they tell me about growing up with the neighborhood and how they pass it on to them to the kids. They know what they found important in our television work, such as expressing their feelings through music, art, dance and sports. and theater and computers and writing and we invariably end our little time together with a hug I am so proud of all of you who have grown up with us and I know how hard it is some days to look with hope and confidence at the months and years ahead, but I would like to tell you what I often said to you when you were much younger.
I like you just the way you are. It's such a good feeling to know that we are lifelong friends.
