10,000 Pennies Searched - What Did We Find?

Feb 27, 2020
today... well, probably in the next few days we will hunt for 10,000

pennies

Hi everyone, I'm Rob with Rob Finds Treasure and I went to my bank and said give me four boxes of

pennies

. I opened the top of each of them. We wanted to make sure they circulated, so it's four boxes, same bank, same leak, same source, so we're hoping that if we get into a good box, maybe there's a sister or sister box to go with it or On the other hand, if we have a couple of bad boxes in a row maybe we can augment them with some good boxes who knows either way we have a long task ahead of us 10,000 cents to look at that will take us some time we have about 12 to I have 16 hours on this artboard ahead, so we'll start with box 1 and box 2, then box 3 and box 4 and the reason I label that way is because one person took out these two boxes and another person took out these two, so Man, look, these were together and these were together, but they all go together for this hunt, so

what

am I really hoping to accomplish with these four 10,000-cent boxes?
10 000 pennies searched what did we find
I really hope I get my fair share of Wheaties. It would be nice to get 50 or more, but I'm hoping to get at least 40, that would be an average of 10 per box. That's

what

I hope, of course, I'll take less if we can get some old ones, and of course, you know me. There are some pennies that I've actually been looking for forever. I still never found in 1992 D or P nearby. It's hard to

find

, only 15 of the d's have been found and only a handful of P's I just don't want. To search for it, I never found a P White a.m. 1999.

More Interesting Facts About,

10 000 pennies searched what did we find...

I found a lot of 98s and a few to thousands, but not 99s. I would love to see an 83 P double inverted die or even an 84 double lug, Lincoln said. That would be good too and of course if we could get 72, 69 or 55 that would be ridiculous. Okay, we've talked a lot. This is going to be a long video. I'm pretty sure about it, but I wanted to. make sure they knew I had my penny mat ready to go. I have my scope ready to appear on the screen to approach a person with these Lincoln pennies to see if I can

find

something good and of course I said the word.
10 000 pennies searched what did we find
Lincoln cents, it would be nice to find another Indian Head Penny even though we just found one of a few hundred, oh it has circulated well. I didn't spend much time looking for Enders, if I run into one during the search, you guys will be involved. make it all work for the first wheat penny found in 1957 in Denver, kind Tony places the number 11 in a box, another wheat penny you can reveal and that is a year from 1942. He put it under the confirmed scope in 1942 with some damage with some damage. penny number two rule number 22 third wheat penny from the box comes 52 Denver but I'll take it all day also throw 25 at the midpoint of the box number one we're going to have our fourth wheat penny was in front of me 1952 Denver once Again, that D is a little higher on the date than normal, but it's not on the date.
10 000 pennies searched what did we find
Sometimes on these older wheat pennies you want to check the compliance mark to see if it's on the jacket or on the near date, but it's not a big deal, it's pretty common, although there are four in the box, roll number 29 and I can see it peeking out, it's going to be another wheat penny in the light, it was a 40, it's a 48 of Denver's number five wheat penny. box 37 rule, we have a vintage 1917 Denver, the teenagers we wear in MIT branded t-shirts can't be mad because it's pretty worn out, but it's good enough to see decent details, a clean date and a mark clean mint. sure, all day is the oldest fun: the number six penny wheat box, maybe we can get to eight or ten, role 39, you can always hear the Canadians before you see it, almost because of its metal content, heard something suspicious, sure enough, a 1983 Canadian on roll number 42, we have another old one here and I also saw a mint mark from the 1930s, less than 25 million of these were minted, but they are still a common wheat penny and in this condition you are looking at a dime, well, I am looking at a dime, but you know what I mean.
I'll still be carrying a 1930's in the box, I sure don't have many from the early 30's with mint marks, let alone from the early teens, that work as well, so, nice find. So far the number seven cent case is doing better on the old ones and we are getting some in better condition here on the back of the case, the 69 has some scratches, but it's hard to find a 69 Philadelphia in very good condition and apart from the scratches, it is It has a lot of shine and it is a good hit, so I took it out just in case, okay, let's go back to the search, the last one for the whole box, the last part of the roll discovered a wheat penny , it's going to be number eight and it's a 1947 can.
I don't see if that's a D or an S, let's double check for sure 47 Denver, so for the wheat pennies in the first half of the box for the second half, The second half is very good with a tin of 17d and 30s. Don't get mad about that, there are eight of them. I don't see any more wheat pennies in this paper, so it's too much to wrap eight wheat pennies. We found four nice 259s coins and one Canadian number 69 SS, but a lot of copper. I'll take it, that's box one, let me get box two out and let's continue with hunting rule number 67 of the four box hunt and we're going to have our first Canadian in the box, at least in this second box, it's a nice 1975, take it.
I didn't film this one, but since I'm filming the Canadian one I thought I'd show it to you. I've got a nice fat punch here. It's supposed to be 1994, but you can barely see the date and Li is Liberty. It may be damaged at first, but I think it's a grease bump either way, not much value. I just thought I'd show you something different and cool. It took 30 rolls in the box to get our first wheat. penny, here's the back, we can reveal it. Now it's our 9th of the two boxes so far and it looks like it's a 1955 Denver coming, as they come, take it, although we finally got on the board in the box to roll 33.
We'll get our second week pin in the box and number 10 of the two boxes again, coming to 53 Denver, but I'll take it all day and it will eventually get me to double digits. In the next few boxes, finally starting to warm up, it will be our third. penny wheat in the box, more importantly 11th overall right now, can it be a sub 50? No, it will be last year, 1958, but at least we will find some wheat pennies now that we are on the 38th list and after having zero wheat. cents to roll 30 now we have four in this box 12 for the two boxes.
I get another flip on this reveal and I think it's just a 1946 with some grease on it, it doesn't matter what the brand of the hazard glove is, it's junk and it's common anyway, but it's the 12th wheat cent and that's a dozen, next roll number 39, another wheat penny more and I think it's a 55, she's a 1955 filly and I don't see them often and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the double die, but you know we're going to get into the realm, so let me get into the scope and just make sure we have it in the scope clearly, it won't duplicate the date or in Liberty, some damage, but it won't duplicate the motto, so not super rare 1955 with double die aversion , but I like to see it because I rarely wait for the 13th cent, well, box 2 is ready, it was a little slower than box 1 with only 5 cents of wheat, we are up to 13, we don't add any more old ones, you know, I thought That's weird, I just saw this.
I had a 1999 D that has an off-center strike on a 1994 with some kind of grease strike, so I pulled those two out. I found two toners that I liked, a 1999 and a 1994.D, so we found a 94 Philly and a 94 D, since it was a 990 and a 99 Philly anyway. I just thought it was strange that the four side posts I took out for some reason were the same two years of different minutes that we didn't do. add a few nicer coins, a few more 59 coins and that's it, the second box overall is so hard it's only 5, we have 13 wheat pennies, we're on our way to 26.
I wanted at least 40, we have to find 27 wheat cents more in the last two. boxes, we're not going to find them just by looking at the empty box, so let's take this box off the table, take box three and start the search again. Throw the number five into box three. We will have our first wheat penny from this box and now on the 14th come three boxes 53 D still add another one to the board, let's go back to hunting rule number eight, one box three and I'm very excited right now and I'll show you why a See if I can see this right. coin, we have a thick edge right there and usually thick edge coins, either main proof or fat Indian head cents or flying angles and based on that edge it looks pretty solid, it will probably be a proof coin , we thought we would look together, it looks like Brillo and I think I see 62 there, yes, 1962, it has to be a proof coin.
Waterproof coins were minted exclusively at the Philadelphia Mint until '64. San Francisco took over between '68 and '74, but they also made regular strikes and then in 1975. and in all s cents -mint are proof coins so this is definitely a 1962 Philadelphia minted proof cent and I'll take it, it has a little damage of course, it's a little bit in circulation and it doesn't have a deep cameo. because before 1973 a lot of the tests didn't have a deep cameo where they had the frosted foreground and a reflected background blending together like this, but I'll take it all day.
Beautiful test. Penny I don't find many of them they only found a handful let alone I think just two or three of the Philadelphia Mint roll 13 will result in the first Canadian in the box and the third of the hunt 1993, we will take your roll 15 the second end of week in box 15 for fighter 57 Denver roll number 23 and wheat penny number three from box 16 for hunting, can you reveal it 1950 Denver roll number 30 from box number three we have a 1940 something underneath no, it's hard to see the lights didn't I got it right, but I think it's a 44 s, so let's go in and see if it has friends as expected. 44s.
In fact, I think it's the first one from 1944, so put it there, wait for it, the 17th cent out of the three boxes. So far, roll number 36 will give us two cents of wheat. I've got one in front of me right here, it's another 1950 2d that makes 18 and I caught the back of one right there, so it's going to be wheat penny number 19. Sixth from the box and this one. it was a 58 Denver last year, nineteen wheat cents almost done with box three, roll 39 and we're going to have a 20th wheat cent and that's a 1955 Philadelphia, let's check the double miscellaneous, we don't see anything on the 55 neither in the date nor in Liberty. or in the motto it looks like it's a little damaged, although yeah, I think it's just damaged, not even the poor man's 55, actually, it's a little damaged at the end of the last five, but I don't see what I want to see.
I still don't get many 1955 fillies and I've gotten so far, okay wait, the 20th penny of the 42nd hunt will give us a couple of surprises. I laid it flat. I saw this one. right behind that one and when I looked up I saw another one, so this will be weak cent number 21 and number 22, the first one I think is a 58 d, it's 21 wheat cents and this one here is a 55 D, like this that makes 22 Wheaties so far in one hundred and forty-two rolls, the 47th roll will have our 23rd wheat penny and the tenth of this third box can't be mad, that's another 55 D, a bunch of 35 P and DS and these hunts , which is good because I don't see many of those years, now we're going to go back to the hunt and see if we have more, so the third box is ready.
We got 10 cents worth of wheat in that box, nothing really old, but we have our total up to 23. I need at least 17 in my last box for an average of 10 per box, that's a tall order, but we can still get there. We're stocking up on 59 and a bunch of nice shiny pennies from the '60s. We've got that too. the proof of a couple of 69s is that it always helps and three four entries a little light on a copper in that box, but I can't be mad at 10 cents of wheat, one more box to go, let's see what we end up with, let's get that box. just opened one roll per box and it could be a good box we have a wheat penny in there and when I flatten it out we have another wheat penny in there and I haven't really taken a closer look at the rest but let's go ahead and check these two out this is a wheat penny number 24 and 25 here's a communist day 57 D but we'll take it and then here's another one and I think it's a 53 Denver is we have a some of those are 25 and since we found 2, let me take a quick look.
I may miss one, but I'll quickly check to see if I see another wheat penny since we've had two on paper that I don't have. I don't think I'll see another one but I'll take two to start the box for 25. Now total rule number five already got a third wheat penny and I think it's another brand of mint no it's a da40 7d the reason why I was thinking. As an estimate, I rarely find seventy-two Ss and so far I have found three in the first five rows of this chart. They're not in the best shape, but I usually find one, suchtime two in a box and we got three out of five rolls, I don't know if that means anything but definitely something different, something I don't normally see and I always look for trends in my boxes to see what kind of rolls might have a good sign, three Wheaties, three seventy-two S. in the first five rules, rule number nine, a box 4 will give us our fourth penny of wheat in box 27 for the four boxes and it's another 1955 d now I've gotten more 55 than I usually get, some peas, Andy's there. crazy well let's get back to the hunt 27 wheat cents the whole number 15 will give us a crunchy wheat cent I saw the back and I think 1957 man that one's been through some stuff let's take a look at things on the bottom.
I'm sure it's not a die cut or anything like that I think it's just dirt because it would be a weak hit on this side and you can't tell because of the damage, unfortunately let me clean it up, it's probably just dirt but it would be a strange die cut on a wheat penny if It's like that and I have to make sure it was just something disgusting wheat penny number 28 rule 21 we're going to get our Canadian quarter from the boxes this is 2006 and we'll take it rule number 24 we're going to get our wheat penny number 29 six from the box me while I was hunting and the oak looks like it's a 56 or 3650 6d first 56 of the four boxes I usually get in large quantities 29 we're almost at 30 we throw 28 we scan to give us the 30th wheat penny and I'm hoping that be an old man that's handy, it's definitely older, I think it's a 20 something, it's a 1926, I think it could be 1920, 1928 and I don't see a mint mark, but I'll take it 20 s we D in the box that ago one is in the teens, one in the 20s and one in the 30s and it's always nice to see an older one even if it's worn out and slippery because maybe there are some friends in the box.
I'll clean it up, put it on the board and we'll get back to the hunt. The roll of 30 wheat cents 40 will give us wheat cent number a for Box 31 for all four boxes and it will be a 58 D from last year, but it is in very good shape, it doesn't have many scratches, it is also a good knock . and adding it to the 46 collection rule isn't going to yield a cent of wheat yet, but look at this, a 1963 Philadelphia Mint proof, so we have 62 and 63 coins now proof in the boxes . Awesome, I thought I'd clean it and give you a better look so you can see the reflective finish, of course it has some traffic dents but this is good even when I put it under the visor, very very nice, yeah I can't be mad with this, find it. might be my first circulating Philly test 63, plus the strikes on these are always so strong, yeah, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
I'll take it all day, now let's find one that costs a penny so we can get to 32 row 48, just place them. and i see a bird penny 1967 canadian bird penny i love finding these also canadian number five same thing another foreigner from bermuda with the pig on his back 1999 rule 49 i can't find that 30 second wheat penny but we found another canadian and this I'm going to be a young head 1960 stacking foreigners, suddenly I just want one more, we paid to make 32, which would be an average eighth per box, well the Box got stingy, didn't want to give me the wheat cent of 30 seconds.
In the hunt we got eight in the first box, five in the second, ten in the third and eight in that box overall, it wasn't a bad hunt, we got 22 out of the 50, of course, only six out of the 40 and then we got some old ones here, a 1917. Denver minted a wheat penny, a 1928 Philadelphia and one from the 1930s, a year out of the very difficult Ford group of 1931, here most Canadians, one from Bermuda, including a set of birds and a young head, we got 14 of the 59 year old look. On these beauties, some of them have some carbon stains or some dents, but they are still nicer than you would normally find and are a little older.
There are a lot of 63s there, that 66 at first I thought was a test. not very pretty coins, I'll take them, we found two proof coins, a 62 which is brown and a beautiful 63 man which is pretty, only 269 s is an error in one box, none in the other three, no variety errors, but we found like me. I showed them those other coins from before, but I thought it was strange. I found three off-center strikes, this 99 D is in the northwest and then both are in the southeast, they're not dramatic enough to really get any extra value, but I like the off-center strikes and I'll stick with all three because they're off-center enough. deviated to be great for me.
I wish I had found more wheat pennies, but you know? You can find the old ones, you're happy, and I can add 31 more wheat cents to my collection. If you enjoyed this Pentium with me, please give me a thumbs up and as always, everyone happy hunting and thanks for watching.
